I am a local who loves this place. The Irish fare is unbeatable. The nightly dinner specials are always fresh and delicious. The staff is fun, and welcoming. The barkeeps are fast and knowledgeable. We had our wedding reception at Mulligan's on the Blue (restaurant buyout), which turned out pretty amazing. Julie the event coordinator I worked with over a year before the wedding did a wonderful job getting the Mulligan's staff organized for the day (she is not always on the island for the weddings). She even got the Wailea golf club to update their bathrooms before our wedding day, (we complained about them before hand on our visit with them the year before during out food tasting). The staff themselves (Patrick and his staff) we awesome. The buffet was excellent! My guest raved about the prime rib, coconut rice, poke, salad) and the slider appetizers. The venue was awesome, I had a total of about 75-80 guest including my vendors, and having the dinner tables on the Lanai's were GORGEOUS at our sunset reception! Our DJ played up to 11am, even with Maui's strict noise ordinance. I would totally recommended this venue, especially the buyout price! It's perfect for casual wedding receptions! The only down fall you may notice is that they do not have air condition in the restaurant, but their open style restaurant with big glass doors lets this wonderful Maui trade winds come thru to cool the restaurant down. I would highly recommend Mulligan's for any event venue. They are reasonably priced and the food and staff is awesome! read more

I recently went to Mulligans in the Blue in Wailea Maui and had the most delightful evening... Starting with the great food and grog and atmosphere and of course the view of the outer islands it was a total treat to be there... My server Tanya was terrific and very attentive and showed genuine concern if I was having a good time or if my meal and evening was to my liking... That on most nights would have been a perfect "10" evening all by itself but add in the amazing and talented Willy K for the entertainment and it became an off the chart night of amazing fun... Myself and two friends went to Mulligan's lastnight (Saturday night) and it was empty. The bartender there was the most unhelpful person I have ever experienced. It took us two attempts to get him to call us a cab to leave. We paid our tab and finally a cab arrived after half an hour. Once the cab finally came our cab driver, while we were driving, said he got a call from the bartender at Mulligans stating that we had no money to pay for the cab. This phone call made by the bartender at Mulligan's caused our cab driver to get irate and kick us out of the cab. We tried to get another cab so that we wouldn't have to walk all the way back to our condo but apparently the cab driver had "blacklisted" us from receiving any cab rides. We then had to walk all the way to our condo in Wailea. Because of this bartender's attitude we were harassed and treated unfairly. This bartenders attitude has a negative impact on the way I and both of my friends perceive Mulligan's. I will never go there again. read more

Horrible service and ok food. It wasn't too busy and it took forever to get our food. The waiter kept running past us saying it won't be too long until we got our food. We wanted to order more drinks but he kept on running past yelling at our table. Very unprofessional. Plus he would stop at every table but ours. He Just kept running past and wouldn't make eye contact. He was probably the worst server I have ever had. I had the clam chowder and it was pretty much clam soup. Way too runny to call it chowder. Plus the soup was supposed to come with Guiness brown bread but instead they gave me Italian bread. The menu said black tiger shrimp you should serve tiger shrimp if you say tiger shrimp. They did not. The mashed potatoes in my opinion tasted like they came from a box. I would recommend this place if you like to be ignored, like crappy live music that is too loud and disappointing food. read more

Food is very salty and service is not very good. Horrible steak. Only thing edible was apps. Served alcohol to a minor at our table. Started out horrible from the get go! Chef's forgot dressing on all 4 side salads. Ordered Panko crusted stuffed chicken breast, and fish & chips. Chicken was so raw it might as well have been sushi! Small pieces of fish were cooked, larger pieces partially raw. Would NOT recommend!!! read more

So impressed with this place! We used it as our wedding reception site and couldn't be happier with everything! The tables, flowers and decorations were set up just the way we instructed and wanted. Everything was organized beautifully, out on the front lanai. The two servers who took care of us were personable, fast and made sure everyone was satisfied with both their dinners and drinks. The food was wonderful (delicious steaks and fresh fish) and the view from the lanai, breathtaking during the sunset. Much to my surprise, there was a great local band playing until 9:00pm which added the most romantic dinner music I could have asked for. They set up a DJ afterwards and let our guests and wedding party dance the night away. They are one of the only places that will stay open past 10 pm in Wailea, HI. Our crowd is pretty rowdy and no one complained. We pretty much had the entire side of the restaurant to ourselves, which made for a fun, memorable wedding night. We accidentally left our wedding napkins behind and called the restaurant a few days afterwards. The woman who answered was so nice and explained that everything was packaged up and we only needed to stop by and pick it up. This venue was an incredible deal for us! The food, drinks, music, decorations, view of the ocean/sunset and service was perfect for our wedding reception in Maui. We would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I don't get down to Wailea too often anymore, and stopped in yesterday -- actually business related, and realized, hey, it's cinco de mayo, so why not take a break and enjoy a cold mojito? There were THREE kinds of mojitos, and I opted for the regular version-- and it was perfect. The service is always wonderful, friendly, and it's just a great casual, relaxed atmosphere. I've dined here many times, listened to the traditional Irish music, gone to Willie K's shows. Seen many wedding reception parties, birthday celebrations. This is truly a great little spot for sunset viewing and a very reasonably priced dinner, or pupu/cocktail hour. Wonderful fish and chips, and good pub fare all around. It's the kind of place you almost don't want to YELP about because you don't want it to get too crowded. But do go and enjoy, whether just to take a break, or whine over your golf game at the Blue. read more

If you're looking to find a good fish and chip place don't go here, unless of course you like thick greasy deep fried batter. The fish was mediocre to boot. The fries were decent and I'm giving the place an overall rating of 3 out of 5 even though that implies it is better than average. It definitely was not. Thursday night is Trivia night at Mulligans on the Blue. I went here with a cool group call the Maui Happy Hour Club (http://mauihappyhourclub.com/join/). This group gets together at the sweetest places in Maui- every other week a new place, friendly faces, and guaranteed fun! We had so many people at this event that we had two teams! Trivia night is super fun. Cheap beer, good food (free buffet!), and a weird, but funny host of the quiz night. Basically you get into a team of your friends and you answer questions based on a few different categories. It's something different to do on a Thursday night! read more

Oh dear. We cycled 5 miles to this place and got there 15 minutes before opening time fierce thirsty. I was all excited about a proper pint ( I'm from Delgany Co.Wicklow, that's in Ireland folks! ) BUT the two men behind the bar were so rude to my husband we didn't even stay, you'd swear that we asked to drink their blood not ask for a pint. I was there on Friday night the 6th of june.....enjoying a finnegan pie with my wife...house music was great very local scene..... 2 Irish guys bar tending who I guess were also managers the way they handled everything....it was awesome....then the worst wedding party of all time came in and ruined it...we will be back for sure.....applaud the 2 men behind the bar because these people were embarrasing... We went to Mulligan's with another couple during Wailea Restaurant Week. They offered a pre fixe three course meal for $29. We ordered the fish with lemon caper sauce over rice pilaf with grilled zucchini. The fish was overcooked and dry. There was no sauce. There were two capers (really, two) on my plate The fish was served over plain white rice with four slices of dry, grilled, unseasoned zucchini. This may be the place to go to drink ale, but it is not the place to go for a good dinner. The restaurant looks shabby with a pool table out on the lanai. When we were being seated, two of the chairs had to be traded out because they were falling apart. There are many fine places to eat in Wailea--this is not one of them. read more

We went here for the happy hour and the bowl games and sat at the bar. This has it all, great selection of beer on tap, good mixed drinks and an authentic Irish menu. The view is also pretty amazing, and the service is great. On our first visit we had the artichoke dip - they serve it in a bread bowl with only 5 chips. Ask for extra chips. The second visit we ordered the wings and the fish and chips and it was very good. Their fish and chips is mahi mahi, some of the best we have ever had! The only thing that struck me as odd was both times we were there they let kids sit at the bar. I've never been at a bar where they allow kids to sit at a bar, but maybe it's a Maui local thing... Their house band played the first night we were there and they seem like they have a pretty decent local following. The people sitting next to us were talking about having their wedding reception there, which seemed like a unique venue. We will definitely be going back on our next visit - in our 12 day trip this was the ONLY place we visited more than once! read more

Came here for the Willie K show and he was fantastic. I highly recommend seeing him if you can, he really is an incredible performer. Nothing but good things to say about that part of the night! Here's where things went downhill: The drinks were terrible. I tried three of the cocktails. Traditional mojito was flavorless and bad. The raspberry lemon drop tasted like cheap liquor and overly sweet syrup, the sugar on the rim was non existent, and the glass was overly filled so I had to sip it while leaving it on the table to keep from spilling all over myself. And the worst was the Strawberry Bliss cocktail. It tasted like some sort of concoction we made in college that left you with the nastiest hangover known to mankind. It was supposed to be citrus vodka, muddled with strawberries and mint, lime juice, and a champagne float. All I could taste was cheap champagne and citrus vodka. There was not a bit of strawberry or mint in the glass, and even the chunk of strawberry on the edge of the cup was completely white! Why would you intentionally put such an unripe piece of fruit on there? It just points to lack of care with the drinks. Food was ok, fish was definitely fresh but not cooked all that well. Vegetables it came with were bland. Service was ok, three different servers would come by and ask us the same questions one after the other repeatedly. There must not be any organization or communication amongst the staff. So my recommendation is eat dinner elsewhere, and get beers or straight drinks here and enjoy the Willie k show. read more

Can't say enough good things about the staff, the food and the location of Mulligan's (the view of the sunset from the lanai was breathtaking!!!) Our son's small wedding reception was held here on Saturday, April 6, 2013. I started communicating with Julie, Mulligan's Event Coordinator at the end of February and she was awesome! She was attentive, she was thorough, she made great recommendations, very responsive to e-mails or phone calls, and she was just darn pleasant to deal with. Although she was not at Mulligan's on April 6, Christian, the GM was and he did an absolutely fantastic job with our party as did our server, Julie. He bent over backwards to be sure all our requests were met, he was relaxed in a very reassuring way, accommodating, made us feel everything was under control and also another Mulligan's employee who was wonderful to deal with. While I didn't have the highest expectation for the food based on my previous experiences at other "19th hole" restaurants, I was thrilled with our meal from start to finish ~ it far exceeded anything I had imagined. We started with the Firecracker Shrimp Skewers for an appetizer (delicious!), the Spinach and Macadamia Nut Salad (to die for!) and then we had a choice of a Rosemary Chicken Breast, Pan Seared Ono or Roasted Beef Tenderloin (which is what I ordered - OMG - amazing!!!) Between everyone in our group all entrees were ordered and everyone raved about their meal We brought in the wedding cake from Maui Wedding Cakes for dessert (it too was as beautiful to eat as it was to look at.) While it seems like a small thing it is worth mentioning that Mulligan's staff served it beautifully. There were two kinds of filling and they served everyone a taste of each in very classy style on our plates. Mulligan's typed up a personalized menu for our group with the bride and groom's names at the top - a special added touch! We did not have a large enough group to have the venue exclusively to ourselves but Christian and staff did an amazing job of setting us up so that we were as "alone" as we could be ~ no other guests needed to walk through our area to access the restrooms or bar. We felt like it was our own party but still had the benefit of the great band playing and respectful oglers at our beautiful bride. It is the attention to details that made our evening at Mulligan's incredibly special. Pretty fair food...not great, not bad and at a decent price. Mulligans is on a golf course and has a nice view and had good live music the night we came. This would be a great place for a couple to have dinner then have drinks while listening to the music. For families, it is a good mellow place with a kids menu, reasonable prices and space where you can 'stretch out.' read more

I really liked this place! The service was great, the food delicious, happy hour prices were too good to be true, and great service. Open and airy with lots of dark wood and Irish decor. We ended up ordering the Cajun fish tacos, seared Cajon Ali (too much canjun spice for me but my boyfriend really liked it), and the quesadilla which we read so many reviews about. The food was far better than the reviews, and better than some of the 4 and 5 star restaurants we have been to. The only reason I give it a 4 star was because it really didn't seem clean. A good scrubbing would have matched up with the gorgeous golf course. But gross when there are so many cigarette butts in the parking lot and the bathroom floor shows high traffic as if construction workers lived in there wearing their work boots. But it was a very relaxed atmosphere and you could tell that a lot of golf regulars hung there. I would recommend! read more

First time here, took 10 minutes to see a waitress. Brought our drinks, my ipa was a bakini blond had to return. Ordered food after another 20+ minutes. We chose Mulligan's for our rehearsal dinner location the night before our wedding day. We got lucky enough to have chosen the same night the the Willie K dinner show. It was a magical night. Plain and simple. I worked with Julie the entire time leading up to the rehearsal night dinner and she was a dream to work with. We were able to choose our own menu and she made everything so easy. Then the night of was absolutely perfect. The staff, the food, the location and the entertainment was stunning. If you can try and make a Willie K show...he is fantastic. He sang "Somewhere over the Rainbow" dedicated to us and it was gorgeous and emotional...not only were we in tears, but our guests were all teary eyed too. Our rehearsal dinner was one of the top moments for us and also for our guests during our entire wedding week. We will def be returning to Mulligans....Highly recommend. read more

This is the perfect brunch/lunch place to watch your favorite football team while vacationing on Maui. They have pretty good food, the service is friendly and serve strong drinks; plus it has a wonderful outdoor seating area and a beautiful view of the ocean.
