On March 2, 2024, we contacted Munoz and Sons regarding our 2013 Jeep Cherokee which indicated that it was over heating. We were in our motor coach and staying at Railside RV Ranch in Williams, AZ. Their mobile technician arrived at our location and began working on the vehicle. Their invoice shows work performed, including replacement of the thermostat and antifreeze. The tech indicated that the wrong thermostat was previously installed in the vehicle and that he had replaced it with the correct one. The vehicle was test driven and the temperature gauge in the Jeep indicated lower than normal temperature, which the tech indicated with the proper level for this vehicle. When we returned home, the vehicle's check engine light came on. We took the Jeep the Carson City Automotive that has worked on the vehicle since purchase. We told the shop owner of the issue of the thermostat as they had replaced it previously a few months ago. After inspection, he called us with his findings. The thermostat that was in the vehicle when he received it for inspection had been modified. The computer check engine light codes revealed "coolant temperature correlation fault". The thermostat that you installed appears to have been "cut and gutted" with only the top cap intact. Pictures and our mechanics diagnoses enclosed. All Hands Down on Munoz & Son Mobile Mechanic Services * * * * * 5 Star / 4 Diamond Service * Be patient during your situation of crisis and need as this is the Only one you need to call On February 9th I was traveling from LA to Tucumcari, NM. While driving on the interstate in the middle of Nowhere and a few miles from the Arizona border I hit a "California Pothole" that caused the bottom of my vehicle to hit and the sound of a loud ass boom. Immediately my stress level started to climb worrying if my tires were about to or would blowout. Nothing happened well at least I thought until I stopped in Williams AZ to get gas. The dashboard started chiming Loud and the engine started to overheat and cold air started to blow. It had snowed a day earlier and it was about 1foot high and freezing. The gas station had nothing for the radiator and I began to Pray to the Highest Power ^ . It was 15 minutes to Flagstaff and I put all my Faith ^ in and took that chance. Upon so many things running in my mind I made it to the Walmart in Flagstaff. I made 2 trips into the store and on my third time I came across Pricilla who started a small conversation that turned out to be a Blessing. She was telling me to go to O'reilly Auto and ask for Terry who was a (Book of Information and was Really a good Guy). By this time I'm freezing and overwhelmed by the situation at hand and continuing to pray ^ in mind and was unsure how I would resolve my situation and how much this would cost. I waited until 7:30 and sure enough I asked for Terry at O'reilly who was in the back and told him my situation. He immediately pulled out two business cards and mentioned that they would come to me and his information was assuring that I had options even if I had to do the work myself. The first card I saw was Munoz and sons with a scull on the card. Now I'm not big with head sculls but earlier that week I came across some artwork in Corona, CA that I was mesmerized by. This was the reason I chose Munoz's business card. I called and no answer but the Clear and Calming voicemail by a lady sounded Legit and Extremely Professional. The tone and the etiquette told me to leave a message. I left a message and I texted the number too. About 5 minutes later I look at the phone and I had a missed call from that number I just dialed. My phone was on Silent smh. I called back I spoke to Juan Munoz I think and he said he could get to me in about 30-40 minutes and told me his price Ahead. I told him to come and see if he can fix it and that I would start working on it. I bought the radiator $206+ tax and supplies and tools totaled just under $300 and thought I would try to repair it and started to work on it myself. I had to think Carefully as money was tight and needed resolve if I was going to get this fixed. 15 and half minutes later he was pulling up. That told me he was Serious about his job and mindfulness of my situation. Immediately he got out the truck and his energy was shining with a warm smile to brighten my cold (freezing) dark night I just experienced. He was friendly and his knowledge was on Point and he got to work. Because I had already removed some parts, it move the repair quickly. He put Everything back together. Then the moment of Truth and Principle was at hand when he asked me to turn it on. I did and no heat. He smiled and took notice and he told me not to worry because he has been doing this for years?? He waited for another 15 minutes and Nothing....... Just cold freezing air. But then I realized Nothing happened with overheating and then suddenly I felt it. Warm air at first then after he explained how it worked. Then suddenly the Hot air pushed out the vents and the vehicle didn't overheat. He repaired it as he said he would. While it was running he assured me that he would make sure it was running smoothly so that I could get to my destination. He even check the oils and hoses. He even managed to remove a broken bolt and replaced it so the oil wouldn't leak out. This Angle actually Cared!!!!! Juan said that he would warranty his work for 30 days and he explained to register with the auto store for points but for lifetime parts with O'reilly. He said that if I had Any Problems along the way that he would come to me. I almost wanted to cry at that point because it truly said Everything about who he was and what it stood for. Like an Angel that I needed in a time of crisis and mercy he gave me comfort. If you are having problems with your vehicle and don't need a hassle this is the One to call. This man saved my 10 year anniversary trip. TWO times! On the way down to Pheonix from Flagstaff we were dealing with overheating issues due to a cracked thermostat that we had JUST paid $500 to fix and got ripped off. We called and Juan said he'd be there in 15 minutes and was there in 6. He replaced the thermostat right there in the parking lot for us and got us the best price I've ever paid for mechanic work! We let him know we had a full diagnostic and they said nothing else was wrong but that thermostat so we were on our way and made it to our destination with no issues. On our way back from our long road trip it started showing signs of overheating again. We called Juan and he said to let him know as soon as we got into town and he was there at the auto part shop at the SAME TIME we arrived. In the cold wind and snowfall, him and his son did a diagnostic reading themselves and found the first shop missed the temperature sensor needing replacement!
