I was having a bad day. Coolant wouldn't hold near Munds Park, coming from Williams, in heavy rain. I called Coconino Motors based on an alternative option given to me by roadside assistance. I called Pat answered and he was honest. Friday at 2, when I thought I'd be looking at an unexpected hotel bill on top of the tow and repair. Pat and his technician found out it was busted radiator cap, called for the part, and set me up quickly. I would bring my truck here, from Phoenix, to have service. The cost was reasonable to boot. Steer clear: untrustworthy. Brought my vehicle in for starter repairs, and it was returned with a broken seatbelt. They refused to fix the seatbelt when it was brought up that they damaged the front passenger seatbelt while having moved it aside to get access to and work on the air intake. Refused outright to consider the fact that they had damaged it while conducting their work. I thought these people were trustworthy and reasonable, but if you don't want your vehicle damaged in other ways while undergoing repairs here, steer clear. read more

I have been taking my vehicles to Coconino Motors for years. Trusting your mechanic is so important since having a safe and reliable car or truck is essential. Once, I referred someone to Coconino Motors and the told her that she was going to need an expensive repair to her CV boot or something like that. She didn't take their advice and the next thing I knew she had a broken axle. Lesson learned. Always listen to a mechanic that you can trust! read more

I tried this mechanic when my clutch went out because my friend told me they are awesome. She was so right! Pat and Helen (owners) are awesome. Pat told me that it would take 2 days before he could even look at it, yet 3 hours later he called me with an estimate. Since it's a mom and pop shop located in flagstaff in the middle of Covid, the shop does take a bit longer to get things ordered and delivered. After describing the issue and answering Pats' questions, he pretty much knew what needed to be done. He gave me an estimate that I thought was fair and said he needed a day or two to finish the job. I took my vehicle in to Coconino motors because it would not start. I did not have electrical current from the ignition to the battery. I gave the technicians ample evidence and symptoms to diagnose the vehicle and they did not seem to care. They called me and said the battery and starter were not working properly although both parts were fairly new. The battery could have been charged but they insisted it needed to be replaced. The job cost me over $600 just for it to break down again a week later. I DO NOT recommend this auto shop. They just want to change parts and charge you for changes that are not needed. I took it to another auto shop and they diagnosed the real problem within an hour. Do not waste your money with Coconino Motors. read more

I've brought my vehicle here before for an alignment. Just down the road it seemed as though there was nothing fixed. i brought another vehicle for the wheels making noises. Upon arriving a mechanic walks in mocking a customer sarcasticly i didn't pay no mind to it I thought ppl should have humor then my vehicle was ready to be picked up I was thinking "yay its fixed" the next week the same noise was still there. I was recommended to Coconino motors because I needed an alignment for my vehicle. I hit a curb on the front passenger side and had a wobbly car! Coconino motors was super nice, answered my questions over the phone and I dropped my car off for service. When I receive my car back my steering wheel was still pulling to the right.I called back to Coconino motors and took my car back in. They rotated the front two tires and fixed the problem. They have a very friendly staff and made it extremely easy to work with them. read more

The convenience of this shop is that it is right down the street from my house, I could push my car if I wanted to. The staff is really friendly but I seriously feel this place is overpriced. I would rather go to Rick, who is the head of Toyota mechanics, he does a quick and phenomenal job and explains to you what he is doing. He is also WAY affordable. When I got some work done on my car the dealership quoted me $600, Coconino Motor's $450 and Rick did it for $150 and he did it in under an hour and used the dealership parts for my car, not generic parts. If anyone is looking for a great job on there car give Rick a call, he works over at the local Toyota by the mall, I guarantee you will always go back to him. read more

Dishonest people. I was helped my Pat only to find that the repairs they told me I needed had been done the year prior. I inspected it again as i was about to change it myself (looked fine) but was again assured by Pat that i wouldn't be able to tell with basic tools. I then brought it back to the other place I had it repaired last year and the part was still in brand new condition, no need to be replaced or to hand them over 500$. I had just traveled across the country from Massachusetts and stopped at Coconino Motors because my brakes were squeaking and I wasn't sure if it was a safety issue. Pat took my car in right away, and I waited with my yellow lab in the lounge. Pat spent at least 20 minutes assessing the situation, then assured me the noise was from rust and NOT a safety issue. I wasn't charged a dime. Being from out of state, and not familiar with car-related issues, I was definitely in a position to be taken advantage of. Quick and painless. After two phone calls, my car was scheduled (within the hour) to be picked up by a tow truck and brought to Coconino Motors for repair.
