Staff are friendly, everything looks clean and neat inside, however, after going in for my appointment, filling out paper work, the eye technician, who did a fabulous job from start to finish might I add, walked me to a room where she would do typical tests that are normally done in other eye health care facilities, from tonometry, a glaucoma test which is an instrument used to make contact with or blow a painless puff of air at your eye, which helps them measure the pressure of the fluid within your eye, an examination of your pupils with a light to see if they respond properly, and a colorblindness test, in which you look at circles of multicolored dots with numbers, symbols, or shapes in them. Patients have an option to pay $30 for an examination of your retina(through eye drops or retinal scans), at the back of the eye, with a lighted magnifying lens to see the health of blood vessels and your optic nerve, all done by the technician if you choose to do it. It'll also determine if you have retinal pathology or not. The issue I had with this place was the long half an hour period of waiting just for Nelson Murata to show up after the technician was done with me. He's a nice man and very knowledgeable but I didn't like how he made me read blurred letters at some point during the examination which was never done to me else where, how can anyone read from blurred letters I ask myself. The tests he did to me included a slit lamp exam, which uses another lighted magnifying device to check various parts of your eyes, which includes the eyelid, iris, which is the colored part of the eye, the cornea, the transparent dome that covers the front of the eye, and conjunctiva, which is the thin membrane covering the whites of the eyes. I had a 20/20 vision, which means I can see certain objects clearly from 20 feet away, and yet despite that he goes and offers me, and anyone else for that matter with perfect vision I assume, the option to buy blue light protection, which alleviates visual fatigue and discomfort from long periods of web surfing, gaming and working under fluorescent lights with protection and glare reduction. I didn't notice the difference at all when he let me borrow the sample ones to try out, so I'm glad I'll never need to buy those. It's all about business here and Just goes to show how desperate they are to sell such expensive glasses even to those with excellent vision, unbelievable. All glasses here are expensive in general, so avoid coming here to buy any and go else where that offers much more comfortable prices, like at Walmart's vision center for instance. I won't be coming back here that's for sure, but if you don't care about anything mentioned above, you'll be fine. read more

Carlyn (sp?) is very thorough. She has a wonderful personality and tells you like it is. While I'm not thrilled by learning I have very small cataracts at least I know sooner than later. Wasn't expecting that at only 57. But honestly the office is great as well as Dr Murata himself. read more

As far as we concern , the people that works there, they can wear all the mask they want. But U don't force customers to wear mask. Any of the multiple doctors at the Murata Eyecare Center can and has cared for me over the years I have been with them. Though I prefer one, because Dr. Womack understands my specific issues and concerns and takes them into account whenever I visit. Each annual checkup includes her providing suggestions of what I might do to improve my eyesight issues, including my myopia, amblyopia, and cataract. I actually prefer using Murata's office over my old Ophthalmologist, because they fully understand my hesitation about getting surgery (like LASIK) on my one "good" eye because of my amblyopia in my other eye since birth, and without further pushing works with me to achieve the best service I need. read more

Awesome staff, selection, customer service and professionalism. Oakley moved its Factory from CA to Georgia and had an issue with my order for prescription sun glasses. Oakley kept loosing the order which prolonged my order. Thanks to Glenn, the Manager, who stayed on top of the issue with Oakley found out Oakley had not finished the full line on their computer, due to their move, to make the Glasses I ordered. Glenn kept me in the loop and took good care of me due to Oakley's lack of communication. Oakley did take care of me for the extra wait. I had my annual comprehensive eye exam yesterday and I can say... this place is amazing! From the second you walk in you're greeted like you matter. Something so hard to find with businesses today. Not only did the entire team make me feel welcomed, they also made sure I felt comfortable. From my eye tests to my exam with the doctor, I felt informed. I like to ask a lot of questions and each one I asked was answered in a way that made me feel listened to. And, the frame fitting was my favorite part! For the very 1st time someone had the ability to actually fit my face with the first pair of frames. In the past the fitting part was usually one of the most frustrating parts of my visit. I can't say enough about how incredible my time was here!!!! I highly recommend anyone in and around the area to have an eye exam here!!!! And for anyone who has a hard time finding frames they have such a great selection it would be hard not to find a few fun styles! I have been coming to Dr. Murata's office for quite some time. Roughly 10 years I believe. I started off using Dr. Murata, but have since switched to Dr. Womack. (I honestly think the reason I switched is because I needed an appointment one day and she was who was available.) Both of these Dr.'s are amazing. They are very personable and willing to talk about any concerns you may have. Having been a patient for both, it is easy to see that this office has a high competence level. I do not have other optometrists offices to base this statement off of, but the people at Dr. Murata's are some of the best people. You will not need another optometrist after visiting them. I have gotten both glasses and contacts here. Hopefully soon I can progress into the eye surgery, and Dr. Womack has been nothing but helpful. This place is awesome. read more
