I had my annual comprehensive eye exam yesterday and I can say... this place is amazing! From the second you walk in you're greeted like you matter. Something so hard to find with businesses today. Not only did the entire team make me feel welcomed, they also made sure I felt comfortable. From my eye tests to my exam with the doctor, I felt informed. I like to ask a lot of questions and each one I asked was answered in a way that made me feel listened to. And, the frame fitting was my favorite part! For the very 1st time someone had the ability to actually fit my face with the first pair of frames. In the past the fitting part was usually one of the most frustrating parts of my visit. I can't say enough about how incredible my time was here!!!! I highly recommend anyone in and around the area to have an eye exam here!!!! And for anyone who has a hard time finding frames they have such a great selection it would be hard not to find a few fun styles! I can go on and on about Dr. Murata and his team... but for now, I just want to say, thank you! To the entire team for making me feel so important and cared for!!!! read more

I have been coming to Dr. Murata's office for quite some time. Roughly 10 years I believe. I started off using Dr. Murata, but have since switched to Dr. Womack. (I honestly think the reason I switched is because I needed an appointment one day and she was who was available.) Both of these Dr.'s are amazing. They are very personable and willing to talk about any concerns you may have. Having been a patient for both, it is easy to see that this office has a high competence level. I do not have other optometrists offices to base this statement off of, but the people at Dr. Murata's are some of the best people. You will not need another optometrist after visiting them. I have gotten both glasses and contacts here. Hopefully soon I can progress into the eye surgery, and Dr. Womack has been nothing but helpful. This place is awesome. read more

Horrible experience. Ignored. Waited for a half hour but no opticians helped me. I had checked in and was given a tray to find glasses that I liked. They even know I had insurance. Was going to buy Maui Jim prescriptions and a pair of Tom Ford reading glasses. Going down the street to someone that will help me and at least shows minimum respect for customers. read more

I have been seeing Dr Murata for a long time and have always found the office staff and Dr Murata to be VERY friendly, caring and helpful. They all go above to answer any question I might have and I always have a lot. I have never been left waiting very long. Dr Murata always takes his time, explains everything and is so knowledgeable about not just your eyes but anything that may affect eye health. The opticians work with you to find the right glasses and check insurance closely to make sure you get what is available to you. The office has the lastest techonolgy that sends out reminders, make appointments and access past visits. We will always be Dr Murata patients. read more

The staff is absolutely lovely! From the inicial call, the customer service was outstanding. All of my questions were answer (which were a lot!) and I was so happy to find out that they took my insurance! They were also able to squeeze me in the next day for an appointment. I went in for my annual vision exam and got contact lenses for the first time. The doctor went over a few things with me in regards to my vision that were very insightful. The assistants showed me how to properly put in the lenses and how to remove them. Additionally, one of the sweet assistants (Daisy) explained the Do's and don'ts for the contacts. I was very appreciative at the fact that they were very patient with me, as I tried putting on the contacts and taking them out. (I was definitely having a hard time) All in all I had a wonderful experience and have found my new optometrist office. This was my first time in this office and my first eye exam in over 20 years! Everyone there was very friendly and very professional, Dr Barker was great. She explained everything to me and even showed me the Optos images taken of the back of my eye. Today was my first time at Murata Eyecare and it was wonderful! I never write reviews but truly felt it was deserved. The office itself is clean, updated, and tons of glasses to choose from. Quick service, after checking in with the front was called back in less than 5 min! Additionally, I'm a first time mom and had to bring my 7 week old with me and was incredibly nervous; I saw 2 techs and Dr. Karlyn Murata throughout my time in the office and each one of them was beyond patient with me and understanding when my son got fussy mid-eye exam. As embarrassing and anxiety-provoking as it was for me, they made me feel so comfortable and welcome. One tech and Dr. Karlyn even came out to the car with me while I got my son situated after the appt to compare my old glasses to my new prescription so I didn't have to lug my son in/out of the office. I can't thank each staff member enough that I met today for making me feel better about having to bring my newborn along with me to the appt. read more

Okay so I want to start this off by saying I already have amazing things to say not only about Dr. murata but all the doctors there and their staff!! My mom is a Cancer survivor and has lost a lot of her hearing and sight the last 2 years , she is adjusting to her new life now and I just want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who works here, they are so kind to my mom, patient, & understanding & have really helped my mom and family understand what's going on with my moms visual impairment. I went here today for an exam and I will not be going to any other optometrist going forward. Dr Murata and his team are so proficient, professional, kind, and attentive. From start to finish they took their time , let me ask all my questions and gave me such thorough detailed answers . I learned so much about my eyes today from this visit. Dr Karlyn Murada did my exam for me today and she was just lovely! You can tell she loves her job by the time and care she put into my exam today and answering all my questions. Very clean and very open space. At first glance the enterior makes it feel more like a spa then your normal optometry office. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Being my first time here they set the tone with very high expectations. That's sort of where it stops. Being someone who has glasses for years and does a routine check up, there's things itd expect, and nice to have that would elevate this place to another level. First hiccup, was my waiting time after the check up and prescription write up. On this same day I also went in for a contact lens fitting in which the doctor handed me the lenses and left. I waited for then to return..and waited..and waited.. It must of been about 25 min before they came back to finally ask me how it went and if I had found the contacts to my liking. Next hiccup was with the arrival of my glasses. I tested them and found them to be "off". Figured they were new but after a weekend with them, had to return to get them looked at. Turns out the prescription was slightly off and the curve of the lenses met my pupil causing a fishbowl like effect which was resulting in blurry vision on my right. The associate helping me insisted it was because they were new yet,with the contacts,my right eye exhibited the same effect. I was asked to be taken back in for reeval in which it was determined a correction was needed to my lenses and prescription. My first pair arrived in a week but now this replacement pair is taking 1.5 weeks (still haven't received to this day). This would upset me but unfortunately, I use glasses for everything and my need for them are very high. So, my overall experience was lack luster. Two things it'd recommend..1) Give the patient a test run with his new pair to ensure the glasses fit and are of correct prescription. 2)Be mindful of the patients time. If I had to wait additional time, you either have too few doctors working or have overbooked, in either case a quick turn around is in order. On a side note, the selection in glasses is ok at best. Unless youre looking for something in particular, this place will probably have what you need. read more

As I arrived 2 minutes late, front desk people we very nice, but I waited till 6:24 to be seen. I have been on the search for a new optometrist. I search no longer as I found a great place locally! Making my appointment was easy and the lady on the phone was so pleasant and I felt like I was in good hands. When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted quickly. Everyone was so attentive and friendly. Everybody actually seems happy to work there!!! As I was filling in my paperwork one of the assistant's (didn't get her name) was so friendly and made the pre-checkup exams painless especially the glaucoma test that I always dread! This was quick, they seem to have the latest equipment. Anyhow I saw Dr. Barker who did a great job examining me and answering all my questions. Gemma was the assistant who helped me select my glasses and answer my questions. She really has the ability to look at my face and find the perfect frames for me to choose from. She was extremely patient especially with my 2 small children interrupting me constantly. Oh yeah this office were great with my kids! That's always nice as a mom with small kids. I found this place Yelp and decided to go for its great review... i decided to give it a try. Everyone greeted upon entering and was helpful. The eye exam was very thorough and very happy with the reading glasses that i got. I have tried so many places and somehow realized that they didnt get my prescription quite right when comparing it to the one i just got from this place. I had an emergency with my eyes, I called my prior eye doctor at Diamond Eye who I've been going for years and literally was basically told they didn't have time for me till next week. I was so shocked even though with my emergency they still blew me off. I called Dr Nelson & Associates told them my emergency and they made time for me even though they were busy.
