Sorry-- crazy Friday night, short staffeD, customers told us 1.5 hr wait for food, hostess told us 10 min! Yikes! Run!!

Went there on a Friday evening for an early dinner. I ordered filet and husband ordered a steak with bourbon glaze. After about 15 min I was informed they were out of filet. Had to change order to crab cakes. Husbands steak came out without the glaze and the crab cakes were fair but overpriced. We asked about the glaze and was told it cooked off. They brought some out in a cup and it was obvious that the steak had none on it. Also an up charge for the glaze. Caesar salad had a watery dressing that really didn't taste like Caesar to me. Overall for the price this food was not worth it to me. Will not be going back here. We didn't order dessert we went for ice cream instead. read more

The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because of 1. The guitar player was amazing outside and 2. My Bloody was awesome. Other than that... for a table of 6, it took them 25 minutes to bring out our drinks, and another hour to bring out our food. My omelet was absolutely disgusting. Don't recommend it. My omelet was soggy, wet, and had no flavor. My boyfriend got a $6 parfait (shown in picture) and was way too overpriced as it wasn't even a full cup worth. Been sitting here another 20 minutes waiting for the bill after we already asked. The waiter was nice, but terribly slow for having 3 tables. Not coming back. Sorry not sorry. read more

Tried brunch here and was let down. Eggs had a strange taste and everything else was just kinda "meh". My husband went with the brunch buffet and was also disappointed (some items cold, also thought the scrambled eggs were strange). With tip, we spent $43 for a brunch that was merely edible, at best. I hear great things about their dinner. If they get some cheaper menu items, we'd like to give their dinner a try. So far, nothing on the menu has really struck me enough to pay the prices. I don't recommend this restaurant at all. My parents and siblings talked it up (and my dad is a food princess) and I was not impressed at all. I had a bacon and blue burger. First, the bacon was so soggy I had to check to see if it was even on the burger. Second, I'm pretty sure there was no blue cheese anywhere on the plate. I had a side salad that was literally salad mix that comes from a bag chopped up and mixed already. I can buy that at aldi for $1.99 and make it taste better. Even my husband didn't like his meal. It took so long for a new one to come out cooked correctly that my entire table had finished eating. Didn't have much flavor either. This is one of our favorite places to go! Top notch food and craft beer! Everything we have had from fish sandwich, bourbon pork belly on a pretzel roll pressed like a panini, burgers, pizza, salads and soups! We have had all of this in the last 4 visits! So good! My family celebrated my dad's birthday this past Sunday with a Sunday brunch at Murphy's. The brunch buffet menu looked fantastic, but seeing as dad and I are dieting we opted for something with fewer carbs. Mom and Grandma got an omelette that came out looking very good. My girlfriend got the eggs Benedict which looked very good! Dad and I both got their "Prime Rib and Eggs." The quotes are due to the fact that it wasn't prime rib because they weren't cooking it that day. Instead we got ribeye (ordered medium rare), which we both prefer to prime rib, so we were a little excited. Unfortunately, when the meal came and we first cut into the ribeye it was very undercooked to the extent of nearly being uncooked. This surprised me since the steak was pretty thin, meaning that it shouldn't be too hard to cook. As I said, when we got our meal the steak was red-ish purple on the inside and tough to cut due to the near raw meat. We ate our eggs which were alright and asked if our steaks could be put back on the grill for a moment (neither of us are typically the type to send food back, but I wasn't really into the texture of the very rare steak). We were pleasantly surprised that when the steaks were returned they were cooked as we initially ordered them to be. While in the end I enjoyed my food, I certainly wouldn't plan on ordering a steak (ribeye or prime rib) from this restaurant again. Again, my families meals besides dad's and mine looked great. I plan on making my way back at some point, but probably not for brunch and definitely not for steak. Thanks for fixing our meals correctly though. Start off with an order of the cinnamon biscuits and apple butter they are so so good! The kettle chips are good and home made. But I like the French fries better! Went back a third time. Food was not good. The tenderloin was less than satisfactory. I could name 20 places with better ones. My daughter had the steak hoagie. She said it had no taste. The service was very good and my grandson ( 9 months old) loved the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Ordered a steak for pick up. Drove 25 minutes to get it, and was told they were out of filet. They said they tried to call me back but the number didn't come close to resembling my number. They did not prepare another steak. I would have assumed they would prepare a different cut and just offer an apology for the mix up. Nope. They didn't even make the fires that I'd ordered. No apology was given. I called and spoke to a manager he offered to mail me a $25 gift card. After about 3 or 4 months, nothing has ever arrived. I do not recommend. read more

The portobello mushroom salad was literally lettuce and a few pieces of mushroom, for $14, I was expecting more. Most importantly, the service was unfriendly and inattentive. When I think of Murphy's, I think of atmosphere. I have been to this restaurant almost once a week for the past few months since we moved in close by. The biggest amazement is that the Murphy's staff stops at nothing to please. Every time I walk through the door, I find the same bar tender and have had a total of two waiters within the handful of times I've visited. The waitstaff is phenomenal. I still remember sitting down in an IU sweatshirt and the sassy little blonde waiter commented on my poor choice in sweatshirt, shortly after asking me whether I burnt dinner tonight. This may seem rude, but it's a love language. My husband is a PU fan-- dissing IU made my husband instantly feel at home. The waiter even remembered that the last time we showed up to eat, I had burnt our dinner for the evening! I feel I have friends at Murphy's, even though they serve me dinner. As for the menu, one word describes the spread: eclectic. I've had a patty melt, a turkey sandwich with black berry jam, a steak. Never am I disappointed. I must say my favorite food to get is the pretzel appetizer. You. Must. Get. It. Picture an unctuous doughy pretzel warm, steaming, crusted in coarse salt. I take my pretzel and do the "slow pull" revealing the perfectly cooked pillowy center give way to the perfectly brown outside of an elevated pretzel. As soon as it hits my tongue the pretzel melts and I'm met with the gooey, queso- like cheese that comes on the side. Amaze balls! Finally, my favorite meal to get is the Caesar salad with chicken. Okay, okay. You know me. I just described a pretzel for Pete's sake. But alas, the salad is the best. Why? Because it hits all the right notes and does it swimmingly! The crispy Romaine base lends perfectly to two scrumptious, moist, perfectly grilled chicken breasts. Every bit of chicken is gone when I eat this salad. Ugh. The seasoning is just perfect to compliment the luscious Caesar dressing that slightly envelops the bowl, without being over dressed. The croutons are definitely hand made, making each an airy morsel of love adding crisp and crunch. They are buttery and perfect and you MUST pick one up and eat one with your fingers or you aren't doing this salad justice. The slight shaves of Parmesan top the salad and take it over the too. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Honestly-- if I order a salad on a Saturday night-- you will too! Go to Murphy's. Become a part of the family. You won't regret it! read more

We order carryout from here regularly. The food has always been a bit overpriced and the quality hit-or-miss, but it's less than a mile from our house and provides something that feels like a real meal. More than once we've questioned whether to continue giving them our business due to the variability, but tonight takes the cake. My husband arrived to pick up our food about 15 min after ordering, which is typically enough time to have the meal ready, with sometimes a 5 min wait once he's there. Another five minutes on nights the bartender is too busy flirting with the other patrons to bother attending to anyone else. Tonight, he arrived to find the staff chasing each other around the restaurant, whipping each other with towels. When he eventually got someone's attention, our food was not ready, and he proceeded to wait about 25 minutes for it to come out. When he got home (remember, less than a mile of travel down Fox Road), the food was stone cold with the exception of my baked potato. One wonders how long it sat in the kitchen while the servers acted like toddlers. Nothing was seasoned. The steak was cooked in some truly bizarre fashion I can't identify, but left the meat with a very odd and unpleasant texture, tough despite the deep pink color. My vegetable side was one bare step up from raw, as was my baked potato. The meal was basically inedible. So congratulations Murphy's. You've finally pushed us over the edge, and lost a weekly customer. read more

Murphy's has definitely been a hit or miss place for me but having Acrobat Pinot Noir on tap for $4 keeps me coming back. I have some amazing experiences with Allie (amazing server and a hard worker.) Besides Allie and the bartenders I don't want to sit anywhere else. There was one night where a friend and I went and our server left in the middle of our meal and we never saw him after he took our order and the server who ended up delivering our food ended up taking over but never informed us and rarely came back. If it weren't for the wine specials and Allie I would give this place 2 stars. read more

I'm not sure what the problem is at this place. Only one bar tender was willing to take my drink order and then only half arrived. She said she'd be right back but must have gone on break. Guy Fieri that was also working avoided eye contact with me so he wouldn't have to help me. We have been wanting to try this for a while, and it did not disappoint. Food was excellent, had the breaded tenderloin, fried mushrooms, and a couple salads. Their house blue cheese dressing was perfect, as well as the horseradish mayo. Great atmosphere for families, patio is very nice- fire was goin but raining.
