Our server, Sophia was exceptional! The food was delicious and the outside dining was perfect. Had the Chicken tenderloin sandwich for the Tuesday Night special which was also really good. Would definitely recommend Murphys Craft House .

Thinking I had gotten there early enough to beat the Friday night crowd, I was a bit worried when I pulled into a very busy parking lot. I walked in was immediately and authentically greeted. I gave the young lady my name and went to the restroom, expecting a wait. When I came back to the front, I was take right to a table. Samantha was attentive and when a potential issue arose, she offered to resolve it without being asked. I had substituted chicken for the ground beef on the taco pizza and I'm hooked. It's really all I want to eat moving forward!

I was so sad...I had great expectations and was sad...Walked in and was seated..it was freezing. The young server came to the table with his coat on. I asked is it always this cold. He is only response was yeah it is cold in here. We asked for recommendations since we had never been...he said something about the wings and also the fresco burger. Then he said that's all he knows. We placed the order and our food came...husband burger medium well was more medium...box it up and we can re-cook it at home. Sisters taco salad..she did say the shell was tasty. I think they forgot any and all sauces. She also ordered a well done burger to go. Very disappointed in the burger that she got but didn't know until she got home. We also had a kids meal. My granddaughter enjoyed her Mac n cheese. I had to ask if she got a drink with her meal. My sister had ordered coffee since it was cold in the building. We stopped another server to see if she could get a refill. I love trying new places. I guess it just wasn't in the cards yesterday. The band was good and the decor in the restroom was pretty

Hadn't been to Murphy's Craft House in several years and sure glad we rediscovered this spot in Geist area. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was yummy! I am quite the margarita connoisseur and often non-Mexican establishments miss the point of a good margarita- not so at Murphy's! Hope their margaritas are always this good cause they really were delicious! The Pub Pretzel was one of the best we've had in town- soft and warm and buttery and perfect! I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich- fried- and the brioche bun was far better than most. Often brioche buns are so dry and disappointing- not here. The sandwich was very good overall! My husband had the pork tenderloin sandwich and said it was pretty good. Sorry no food pics- I was too busy drinking my second margarita! We'll be back!

    12 oz Ribeye

I ordered a 12 oz ribeye, medium rare, and a side of asparagus. It was all so overcooked it was not good at all. Very disappointed as the food used to be incredible.

    Steak tips with mashed potatoes

Nice little place near Lawrence. Good atmosphere, pretty good steak selection as well. Wait staff was attentive and the food was good.

Ordered a craft personal pizza and I get the saddest looking pizza I have ever seen with no toppings.

Paid $19 for The Craft pizza which should be pepperoni, sausage, and bacon. This was awful and the worst pizza I have ever seen or tasted. You should be ashamed to let food like this leave your establishment.

It's not much to look at from the outside - in small strip mall off Fall Creek about 2 miles north of 96th, but the inside is both luxe and comfortably cozy. At just 12 tables, you get your table for the night, so there is no rush and your evening can be as long as you want to make it. They also have a gorgeous little side wine room that you can rent for parties of 6-8 for dinner. And there's a little bar area that seats maybe 4-6. We had reservations for 6pm, so there were only 2 or 3 other tables occupied when we got there, but they filled throughout the night (& we left close to 8pm). Our server Shaunda was delightful, and the owner Dan came around and checked on all the tables a few times as well. We were presented with a cous cous amuse bouche, a nice refreshing bite to start the evening. Hubs had an Italian Old Fashioned and I asked our server to pair wine for me, so it was a Decoy Sauv Blanc with our first course - the mussels. We asked for extra crostinis in order to soak up more of the delicious sauce they came in. Next was the beet arugula salad, so good! For entrees, hubs had the pappardelle bolognaise and got an iced T, and I had the short ribs with risotto, paired with a glass of cab franc. Dessert was coffee (americano) for each of us, and we split the tiramisu (see all my pics). We ate and enjoyed everything! Total with tax was right at 200 before gratuity. So this is more of a splurge place for us, (of course would be less without the beverages we did) but we will be back. It was a really pleasant evening and another big win for me picking birthday places! #yum #ReviewsByRL

Once parked (plenty of parking right outside their door), walking in it is a very intimate, maybe no more than 12 tables or so. We did have reservations, I would suggest making them to be on the safe side since it is so small. As soon as we sat down, our server came right over and explained how the menu is laid out and how the courses are brought out. I will say, this is not a place to go when you are rush. It is meant to be slow, so you can settle in and enjoy your food, enjoy the company and just be in the moment. We were probably there just over 2 hours for just the two of us. Chef Dan came out many times to chat with us and really made us feel welcome. Telling us different stories, walking us through what we were eating, and just made us feel like we were special. While everything was amazing, a few standout things I would like to mention: The Mussels were amazing, such good flavor so if you are fan, make sure you order them. The caesar salad comes disassembled, and the anchovies are sold separately, (I didn't realize it when I ordered it), we ordered a few desserts and they were all amazing. Can't go wrong there.

The service is outstanding from the moment you walk in--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling rushed. The staff clearly knows their menu and is always happy to offer great recommendations, whether you're in the mood for a classic pour or something new. The food is just as impressive. Everything is well-prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. It's the kind of place where the food easily stands on its own, not just "good for a bar," but legitimately excellent. Between the top-tier service, fantastic food, and relaxed yet energetic atmosphere, Whiskey Business consistently delivers a great experience. DYNAMITE CHICKEN ROLLS $12.65 Egg Rolls Stuffed With Grilled Chicken, Spicy Black Beans and Corn. Served with Southwest Ranch. These were dry and not spicy at all. There were about 3 beans and pieces of corn per half eggroll. If the ranch was inside the eggroll, I couldn't tell. Only the space I chose made it spicy at all. It came with a small pile of shredded lettuce and again several beans and pieces of corn. ISLANDER BURGER $17.25 Premium Ground Beef, Grilled Pineapple, Tropical Rum Glaze, Cheddar, Mayo on a Toasted Bun Good concept, plenty of pineapple and mayo but not much flavor. It has been over ten years since my original review of Fort Ben Pub, a locally owned pub and grill…read moretype establishment located in the Fort Ben area in the same strip center that includes Moo & Lou's Ice Cream and Phaya Thai. There's a wheelchair ramp in the middle of the building - I'll be honest, I don't quite trust it as I've noticed people in this parking area tend to block it without noticing it. There's also easy access from a ramp at the end of the building. Lawrence has done quite a bit to improve their curb cuts in this area, an area that has grown massively since my last review including 2-3 apartment buildings, a library branch, and an improved civic plaza. Fort Ben Pub itself is pretty accessible, though it becomes less so when it's packed (for example, my most recent visit was on a Friday karaoke night and accessibility was definitely more limited). There's two glass doors going inside the pub and, yes, they do offer a few tables on the sidewalk for outside dining. As you enter, you arrive in a large dining area with a beautiful bar to the right. The restaurant is decorated in warm woods with a few televisions of varying sizes and, on this evening, background music playing. On this visit, I was with a festival after-party that was placed off the main area in a smaller area that had two pool tables along with a variety of food/appetizers, etc. It's a cozy room that gave me a chance to check out the rest of the building. I did see the restrooms, which I would definitely not consider accessible - plan accordingly. I could possibly get in the door of the men's restroom, but it was quite tight and I have a smaller chair. This is a beloved place for a friend of mine who lives nearby and within walking distance. They treat her well. She was there during this visit, and I honestly just smiled at their clear affection for her (it's mutual). I love places that become community, and knowing this makes me want to return. That said, my accessibility concerns do somewhat limit my options. Fort Ben Pub does offer space for private events/groups and does catering. They have pool tables, Putt Putt live, Mega Touch, and Golden Tee and most of the sports network channels. While I'd tried both their tenderloin and burger in the past, I had a variety of items this time around due to the after-party, though not everything it seems was on the menu (or I'm just not recognizing it). As I noted previously and my friend also proves, the employees are super friendly and helpful. There are definitely times when it gets busy, though it's also pretty easy to come here during slower times. This particular visit was the first time I'd experienced accessibility issues. There's an awful lot to love here. I have to say that while I wasn't in the room with karaoke, the people were having a blast with such sincere enthusiasm that I was almost in awe. I've done karaoke one time in my life, and I don't think there's enough alcohol in the world to fuel another attempt. I also know from being close to the folks at Moo & Lou that these businesses watch out for each other - which I really like as it's a nice little safety factor. In the end, my star rating isn't changing but my appreciation for Fort Ben Pub has grown. This visit made me want to return in the near future, and it made me grateful for those places where you can get so comfortable that it feels like the people become part of your village. That's Fort Ben Pub.
