The people at Murray's seem like genuinely good people that try very hard to do the right thing and go out of their way from a customer service perspective. Unfortunately, that's all that it seems they're good at. The other reviews here that detail the poor quality of their work are spot on consistent with my experience. I brought my car in for some body work and when I went to pick it up, I immediately noticed scuffing throughout the repaired area and a good number of paint nibs / bumps throughout the paint. I brought this up to them, and they were quick to offer to address the issues. When I brought my car back in, they were able to address the scuffing, but the paint nibs largely remained. I'm not all that picky, so I just accepted it as normal and took the car with me. I then took my car to my detailer to have a protective ceramic coating reapplied to the repainted panels and they said that the body work done by Murray's was some of the worst they'd ever seen. As such they wouldn't be able to reapply the coating without significant rework. More specifically, the entirety of my ceramic coating (not just on the panels that were repainted) was compromised. There was overspray throughout the entire car, the paint nibs I mentioned earlier, over polishing, and more, suggesting very sloppy work involving a lot of shortcuts, not keeping work areas clear of debris, not properly (or at all) masking off parts of the car that weren't being painted, etc. When I brought this up to them, again, because of their great customer service, they owned up to the problem and worked to address it. However, things only got worse from here. Rather than cover my costs, they wanted to handle the reapplication of the ceramic coating, which I was fine with after very clearly specifying that the coating was Ceramic Pro Gold with a lifetime warranty. After numerous back and forth calls with them, they explicitly confirmed that it would be the Ceramic Pro Gold package being applied. Unfortunately, when the work was completed, I went back to pick up my car only to find that a much cheaper ceramic coating with a much more limited warranty was applied instead. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they didn't intentionally lie to me but rather just ended up being very confused / uninformed and trying to take shortcuts to save a buck (sense a theme yet?). Ultimately, however, it doesn't really matter - they messed up my car yet again. And this time, they refused to acknowledge their mistake and I'm left with my car the way that it is, which is far from pre-accident condition. All this is to say, if you have a choice (which you may not given the limited number of body shops that service Tesla), I'd strongly urge you to go elsewhere. Their approach is clearly to take shortcuts and save money wherever they possibly can. It's possible that this works out fine in most cases and / or people just don't notice the shoddy work. But it didn't work out in mine and if you read some of the other more thoughtful critical reviews here, you'll see that it didn't work out in theirs as well. Proceed at your own risk. read more

After 2 months they called me and asked to pay for the difference balance due which I was confirmed that was taken care of my insurance company. This was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional customer experiences I've had in a long time. My car was repaired on time, but everything else about this process was a mess. I arranged an after-hours drop-off with Lisa, who told me the key drop was "a box near the front door" and confirmed my arrival time. When I showed up, there was no visible or clearly marked drop box anywhere. While I was walking around trying to find it (like any normal person would) the POLICE showed up and detained me because they thought I was breaking in after seeing me on the security cameras. That situation was completely avoidable if I had been given clear, accurate instructions. It doesn't end there.... After my car was finished, I called Lisa to confirm pickup and got nothing but vague answers and attitude and seemed irritated that I was even asking. I then had my boyfriend call, and suddenly she was able to provide a clear pickup time immediately. So while the repair itself was done well on time, the lack of clear communication, the unnecessary escalation to law enforcement, and the unprofessional behavior afterward made this an extremely bad experience read more

I will say that you will receive great customer service if you are in person and the quality of work is good; however, the attention to detail and the communication between the desk, the owner & technician's are lacking. I brought my Tesla in for repair after someone opened there door while I was driving by. Initial inspection was done by the insurance company, myself and the front desk technician. We noted the window had scratches and was part of the repairs along with scratches & a dent. After having my car a month, they did not repair the window. They sent me an email saying it didn't need it. When I arrived to pick it up the scratches were still there. I met with Lisa the owner and told her in detail 3 times about my communications with her employee by name and about the pictures. She asked me to not write a review & she would take care of it. A week later I started getting phone calls from the shop saying I needed to submit photos before they would order the window and that they were waiting on me! I relayed my story along with the emails w/pics from the technician. I called Lisa and left messages. She finally called me back and pretended I didn't mention the pics and emails with the technician. She clearly wasn't listening and could only talk about herself. A few weeks later I brought my car back in. I was specific on the tint, I wanted to maintain the 20%. I was told half a day for the repair and I would be contacted. Later in the afternoon I hadn't heard from anyone, so I called. It was 4:20 in the afternoon. I was told my car would be ready by 5 and they closed at 5. I live 40 minutes away and I would be stuck in traffic. Their solution was to lock my key in the frunk. I was not okay with this and came in the next morning. My tint was wrong! It was 35% and after waiting a while, I was finally able to talk to the tech. He was great, but was never told to keep it at 20%. He told me Lisa would give me a call and that was over a day ago. I still haven't heard from her. Don't bring your car here unless you only require basic repairs. They take forever and clearly don't pay attention to detail and don't communicate to you about your car. I could go on, but this is more than enough to warrant not using their services. read more

I booked this place through my insurance as a partnered business with my Ins. Co. After booking, I saw some of the reviews and I was a bit concerned. After dealing with a hit and run on my Model X, I just wasn't looking forward to any additional headache with the repairs. From the start, the process was pretty straight forward and relatively easy. The team was very communicative. Abby kept me posted and Chelsea was always very nice and courteous on the phones. Once I got my vehicle back, I didn't see the issues others had previously posted. Things seemed generally well handled and no issues with alignment, etc. I'm pretty detail oriented and meal-alignment and water intrusion were my two biggest concerns. No issues and all is well. Overall very happy and would go back to this location if my Tesla needs the repairs again. The reason for four of five stars is not anything terrible but simply because when I review I really reserve the fifth for a wow experience. Final communication that the vehicle was completed was only via text so I had to stay in my rental additional day(s) and over the weekend. After having my car for about a month, it would have been nice to get back into our car ASAP. Overall good service and I'm happy with their work. read more

At this point I'd give zero stars if I could. Nice people. They just can't fix my car. I brought a 2021 Model Y in that had been lightly rear ended. They charged the insurance $8000 to replace the tailgate. When I got the car back the tailgate was not aligned, it made horrible noises over bumps, and let water into the car. I brought the car back in. They said it just needed a latch adjustment. When I got the car back it was ok for a day but then the noises started again and the tailgate was now retaining water when it rained. To their credit the tailgate was now visually aligned which it wasn't close to after the initial repair. So I brought it back yesterday. They said it needed a new latch and a water test. I went to pick it up this am and the noise is still there over bumps. Sounds like I'm driving a rusty 1972 F150 over farm roads. There's no way someone test drove it after the "repair". Really mad. Now I'm going to have to take it in again and at this point I have zero confidence they actually know what they are doing. This is chronically poor work. Do not go here. read more

They did some extensive work on my vehicle a year ago and over the course of wear in tear my car needed a couple little touchups and they did it for free. Not only did they come to me and pick up my vehicle and then drop it off once the job is completed the customer service and communication are like none other. I cannot even stress how incredibly amazing these folks are. They are fair honest and very affordable. My daughter and I got rear ended in my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan GT! I went into Murray's for an estimate for the insurance company and set up an appointment to get my van fixed! Murray's fixed up the back of my van good as new and they even seemed to detail it on the inside because when we got the van back, the whole thing was vacuumed out and it was dusted! I would get in a car wreck any day just for that service alone! Lol ok just kidding but it truly was an added bonus when I picked up my car and it was washed on the outside and vacuumed on the inside! Murray's also sent me text messages almost daily about what was going on with my van because it was delayed a day or two because of snowmageddon and wrong parts being sent from a parts store! I am very pleased and I will continue to bring my car back to Murray's! The staff are friendly and treat you like a person and not just a customer!! Keep up the good work everyone, it really shoed. Update 12/20/19 almost a year later from this accident and my van was back at Murry's for a warranty issue. I took my van in to them and showed them spaces that have appeared between parts that they fixed earlier this year and they said no problem, make an appointment and we will fix it free because it's under warranty! AGAIN, they did an excellent job and they worked with us to let my daughter pick it up and bring it home because it was done on new years eve and they were closing early! Let me start with this is the first time I have felt it to be necessary to leave a BBB review. My truck, unfortunately, wound up in the body shop for the second time in 6 months after 15 years of no wrecks. The initial wreck cost over $20k and was strictly body damage from a windstorm. The entire body was delivered like it was driven with zero miles off the lot. Keep in mind this was from the previous shop...... So, let us get to the second shop. I got into an accident that required me once again to get ahold of a body shop that required more internal repairs. Initially, the girl at the front desk that I spoke with was so so so so very helpful and made me feel better with just her attitude about just wrecking my truck. She handled calling the tow company to come and pick up the truck from my property and have it hauled to Murrays Car Star Collision Center. She was nice enough to follow through even after her work hours to make sure the driver knew where to drop the truck and keys after hours on a Friday. Perfect customer service skills and follow through! Here is where the issue comes in! It had been a week and a half after it had been taken from my house, so I called to check on the progress. "Lisa Murray" the owner I believe says to me, "that my truck by no means should have been dropped off on a Friday, let alone after hours and that they had no way of securing it". I then informed her in a manner that was annoyed but professional that, well hey, I want my stuff secured as well, but that is an internal staffing information issue that is not my problem. I was then told that "nothing has been done on your truck and that we are 2 weeks out from even starting on it". A week and a half into a vehicle being taken, that should have been stated sooner. When I replied, "if I would have known that I would have taken it somewhere else who would expedite the schedule", the response I received was along the lines of "go ahead and try but you're out of luck" (that is not verbatim, but close). So, one month and a week later, I called last Friday to see if I can come in and check on the quality of the paintwork as I just had a $22K body and paint job done 2 months prior. I was told, "Yes! stop by Monday it is out of paint today and it will give it time to cure over the weekend and then we can take a look Monday." Monday, today I and my GF show up at the body shop to find the hood of my truck sitting on a stand in the parking lot covered in pollen and who knows what else, obviously after paint. Ok, business is good, love to hear that, and maybe it has been cured already. So, I ask the first gentlemen who approached me if we could go ahead and check out the rest of the truck as there was internal front-end damage. The extent of the repair was isolated to the front passenger corner, but residual damage occurred that required paint blending. I have plenty of experience in the industry and I have to say this was some of the shottiest work I have seen try to be sold. There were literal raindrop-sized drips in the paint. Spots that look like sand in the paint, literal fracture cracks in the Hood. The response I got from the Shop Manager was, "go to any new car dealership and you will find 15+ imperfections in each panel like the ones you're showing me." Now here is where it gets to bad business!!!!! I was asked to come and "Point out issues", when the manager did not like what I had to say about me taking delivery of the truck in this less than pre-loss condition (keep in mind the scope if their work is from the back of the front doors on a 2013 Silverado crew cab) he has the nerve to take the conversation the complete opposite 50% of the truck that has nothing to do with him, that in fact looks top-notch covered in the dust compared to the outside paint booth work being done at this place. When they were no longer willing to let me point out issues and they wanted to argue and not listen, I went to pull my phone out of my pocket and the owner reacted as though I was pulling a weapon. That is when I decided I am no longer willing to deal at all on a personal level with this company and have acquired legal counsel. read more

This is the 2nd time I've reviewed this business. I had some damage on my Honda CRV from a hit and run and from someone backing into me (2 separate claims, 2 different insurance companies). Murray's was very efficient in handling both claims and helping coordinate with the local Enterprise car rental location. I was given a time frame for the repairs, the rental car was brought to the shop and I was on my way. The 2 women at the front desk (Lisa and Gina) were extremely helpful and friendly. I was updated via text as the repairs progressed and everything went very smooth. I picked up my car yesterday and it looks great!! She was washed and waxed, and the inside was vacuumed and cleaned. Nobody enjoys having to take their car in for repairs, but this place and the people who work there made the process as painless as possible. I very highly recommend them. read more

I don't gush often, but I simply cannot say enough nice things about Murray's - especially Pat Murray. Family-owned businesses are getting rarer, and that's a shame. This is a great family with a great business. Given that most of their business comes from people in crises, they have the perfect attitude at the right time. Pat even has a sweet, calming voice that helps the situation. They truly care and go out of their way to take care of their customers. Last year, I managed to get run over by a Fed Ex truck (there is a whole 'nother review I need to write - that was an unmitigated disaster and one I'm still paying for...but I digress...) My car was pretty messed up. My pocket book, more so. I knew of Murray's from networking, but had, thankfully, never had occasion to use them. I had my car towed there just because they were familiar. Pat took care of the insurance, my car, and my frayed nerves. When he found out that was my family's only car, he arranged a ride home for me. When he told me he'd have my car done in two days, I believed him and planned accordingly. We were taking our moms to a concert that weekend and would have the car back just in the nick of time - yay! On Friday, Pat called me. He told me that, unfortunately, a particular part was on back-order and they would not be able to complete the job until Monday. Instead of taking the "sucks to be you" route that I've faced so often, Pat already arranged a loaner car - big enough for us and the moms - and even picked me up so I could drive it home - all at no cost to me! This impressed me. A lot. I sang his praises all weekend. It gets better, though. When I came in to pick up my fixed car on Monday morning (yes, they had it done first thing in the morning!) - I COULD NOT TELL IT HAD BEEN DAMAGED! They even vacuumed the inside. It looked great, and drove great, too - considering the front end had to be realigned. I recently returned for another little job on a different car, and Pat took care of it on the spot. He set me up with free wifi in the waiting room and offered me coffee. I had a pleasant, quiet time in a clean office that does not remotely resemble any auto shop and left with a fixed door that worked better than it did before it was broken. The customer service was beyond my expectations and they showed me that no repair was too small for their business. All i needed was a simple replacement of two parts on my car, they did an amazing job and not only that, they washed the car, cleaned and vacuumed the inside and even buffed out some minor scratches that were close to the damaged part. They were also very attentive to my expression that i was looking to get it done fast and I figured on spending about 2-3 hours getting a minor repair done on my car, but i was out in less than an hour. The quote they gave me was also far less than 2 other less well run shops and since they took the effort to treat me very well, even if the job they were doing was not bringing in much revenue, i will definitely be back for any major repairs in the future. read more

Saw great reviews online and insurance company suggested and decided go with them for repair of my broken window and damaged frame and mounding. Wish I hadn't !!!!! I should have known something when I visited them and they stuck the clear film to cover my broken window and it looked like somone just threw it on there without care(it was loose and mangled up ). I had to ask for another sheet of film to put it on the door so that film won't flap around like a sail while driving. Even the adjuster who came out was embarrassed. I asked them to call me to verify all my parts were in the day before my scheduled appointment to make sure my parts have arrived so I don't waist a day. No call and I had to call them to find out. I was informed the job was going to take the entire day so I took a day off from work and arrange for rides to be picked up and returned back. I didn't hear anything all day and I checked back towards the end of day to see the progress only to find out that it wasn't ready. To top it instead of apologizing one of the girls tried to argue with me that it was another vendor doing some of the work and that they don't guarantee completion times .... least they could have done is call me to to update me. It even gets better. So now I am with out a car for another day. Next day when I go to pick it up I look at the door and the inside trim piece is missing ... I mean this piece is large enough that I can stick my hand down inside the door. Then they get the young kit to slap it back in and I head of to home. Next day up in closer inspection of the window trim they replaced , there are major scrapes as if a backyard mechanic went at it with his screwdriver to pry of the molding. Ironically my fiance and I just both bought new cars and both had to take our cars to the Collision shop within a few months of ownership. Since I wanted to have our brand new cars repaired right the first time I decided to read reviews and call multiple places and I am glad I choose this shop! Lisa and Brittany have been very helpful with questions and navigating the insurance repair process. Mike provided us with an accurate and fast estimate and handled all the paperwork for us. The staff has been providing me with constant updates on our cars from start to finish on the process of the repairs and the expected completion date. When I dropped off my fiance's car Lisa was nice enough to give me a ride home and when I dropped my car off a few days ago she was able to get me into a rental car short notice and had a Hertz representative come meet me at the shop about 10 min later with my rental car. It is apparent that they take the time to build strong relationships with their parts vendors, the insurance companies and the rental car places to ensure the best all around customer experience. They have been very good at making the entire repair process a fast, painless and seemless experience. My fiances car looks as good as new the work was done to the highest of quality standard as far as we are concerned. Got into a fender bender in mid November 2016 which was my first accident of any kind in 45 years of driving. My left rear tail light and bumper was smashed in. I drove it to four different repair places in South King County and got bids. Although the Murray's repair estimate was the 2nd to the lowest price and the farthest away from my home in Auburn I selected them because of the reviews and I wasn't disappointed. They had my car all fixed up and ready to go within two weeks. Unfortunately, on the way home from picking it up at the shop I was rear ended in the EXACT same place on my car! I went back to Murray's Carstar Collision the next day. On both repairs they fixed up my car like new and worked closely with the insurance company to handle the paperwork. I recently selected Murray's after my car was hit by another driver, and State Farm had them listed as a preferred provider. I have to say, this was a very pleasant experience. The team at Murray's is friendly, they use modern communication to text updates and changes to any plans, and they were ready and willing to talk with me about my car's final appearance. My car was ready on the date and time expected. With seriously rainy weather, I asked to bring the car into a bay for a closer look before signing off on the repairs, which they were happy to do. I had a concern and we were able to go over the car and make things right. Through NO FAULT of any member of the Murray's team, a clip had worn out that secures the plastic bumper to the metal fender, as Kyle and the other technicians patiently reviewed it all with me, they agreed to order a new clip so the fit would be perfect. Front desk personnel are also awesome and made me feel relaxed even though I had questions and wanted to double check everything. Having someone dent or damage your car is no fun, whatsoever. The big difference is the crew at Murray's and how everyone was kind, and willing to take a little extra time, even though they're super busy, to be sure I could walk out feeling great about the experience. I recently got my front end bumper repair done by Murray's CARSTAR. Now I am getting my rear end bumper repair done by another CARSTAR. IT IS A NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. Instead of the negatives of this current place I just want to say, I wish I would have gone with Murray's once again due to their great updates and great service. This was my first time bringing my car to Murray's Collision & it sure won't be the last.. They did an amazing job with my Mazda 3. Thousands of dollars cheaper than what the other shops quoted me which was great cause I had to pay out of my pocket!! I'm glad I found & chose the Murray's to do the job. Lisa called me every other day to give me updates on how the repair was going, & pat kept his word on doing they're very best. It doesn't even look like it was damaged! First let me say that everyone at Murray's collision Center are AWESOME !!!!! I wouldn't think of taking my car anywhere else ! Mike, Bryan and Lisa are great! To be completely honest I have never needed any body work/repairs done. I didn't even know where to start. By chance a coworker of mine told me to go to Murrays as she and her family have had work done there and were satisfied with the quality of their work. Right when I walked in I felt at ease. I got an estimate on what was needed and they even showed me what did not need repairs. That was a relief as I heard stories of people being told they needed repairs or replacements of things that were not necessary. I should mention- this was a self pay repair so I was stressed out about the costs. Once I scheduled my car to be serviced-I was updated on the progress of the repairs. The service was fast and you cannot tell there were ever any damages. I also noticed my car was washed and cleaned. I live pretty far from this shop but I will be coming back if I ever need to. If I could leave photos of before and after showing the quality work that Murray's does, I would. But you would have to see it in person to really appreciate it even more. (Don't be confused by the name Bjorneby's, as they took over their shop/building in Des Moines) Having had many years of experience with body shops and different paint work/body work, these people really know what they are doing. Our 1994 BMW E34 in Brilliantrot (red) looks amazing after it was hit by a Gator ATV while parked. The folks here worked with our daughter and were very considerate of her situation facing an insurance company that drug their heels and denied part of the claim on behalf of the camp where the incident occurred. Needless to say, the wait was worth it, and they are going to complete the work not covered by the insurance company as quickly as possible knowing our daughter is leaving for college in less than a week. Great communication, polite, and very knowledgeable about old school paint jobs. Our 530i looks amazing, and better than it did before the accident occurred. Impressed enough to want to take our '68 Mustang here, unlike the last shop who painted our previous BMW the wrong color (with bugs in the paint) and handed it over incomplete. The bonus will be that our daughter will tell all her BMW acquaintances about this place. Murray's even went so far as to send to Germany for the 20 year old parts needed for this car. We found Murray's on Yelp and they had great reviews, and we found out why. Their customer service is like no other. They were in constant contact with my wife every step of the way and the car looked like brand new. Lisa and Bryan went above and beyond making this horrible incident much easier.
