I love that I can put a whole ball of Murray's amazing burrata on top (it truly is the best I've had), and mix that cool creaminess in to my mac. Sizes are great too, I always tell myself I am going to eat a snack size, but end up with the bigger ones. I think this is just a pop-up, but I hope it never goes away! It had a salty bite to it. Creamy consistency. They say it's made with a secret blend of cheeses, but there had to be a sharp N.Y. Cheddar and Pecerino Romano. For those that say it's too pricey, it's Manhattan in NYC. Anything of good quality is pricey. If you add multiple toppings, the cost increases. I can honestly see why the Murray's mac and cheese was so good and it's not just a hype. But generally, Murray have great cheese at their cheese shop locations. Such a great concept. Mac and cheese is my weakness food and this little pop up is heaven to my stomach. There are so many different flavor combinations you can choose from and you can choose from multiple sizes/ portions. The snack mac (8oz, the smallest size) really hits the spot. I got the French onion (Gruyère, Raclette, Bacon, Caramelized Onions) for $8 and it was great. Super cheesy and YUM. Definitely want to go back and try some of the other flavor combos, but its just a heavy a meal/ snack! You can also build your own combinations with different add ins. If you're looking for a quick, delicious bowl of mac & cheese, this is the spot. The space is on a corner and the large windows give it a bright and clean atmosphere. This was my second visit and I've ordered the Classic Mac each time, but this time it accidentally came with bacon. I wasn't mad about it (hello, it's bacon) but I have to say that if you're going to order anything other than the Classic Mac plain, you're doing it wrong. For some reason, their toppings have the tendency to over power the mac itself so that it's less about the cheese and more about the topping flavor. Which is honestly a shame because their cheese blend is rich and flavorful on its own. I've sampled friends' orders of the Carbonara and the Buffalo Chicken but nothing compares to the Classic. When you open up the sandwich wrap the cheese just oozes out, in a good way. The bread is no slouch, looks like it was slathered with butter to get that golden brown crispy texture, which perfectly compliments the cheese. Murray's isn't known for its value, and whilst you get what you pay for ultimately, we tried it, but $20 Mac and cheese isn't really value, and it wasn't good enough to match the price point. Got there right before the rush and the line grew out the door while I was waiting at around 1230. Had to try the Classic Mac with Burrata (woah) and added basil pesto - came out to $15+ change including tax which was a little pricy for Mac and cheese but it was a good portion. The classic cheese blend is amazing not too heavy but still creamy. First time having radiatori in a mac and cheese and it was a great switch from classic elbows. Came here on a Monday afternoon and everything was pretty quite. We got the carbonara mac and the French onion Mac. Both were incredibly good and left us super satisfied. They use a special type of pasta from Murray's Cheese that allow for maximum cheese uptake that is pretty neat. $10 for a single bowl of Mac and cheese is honestly a little pricey, but if you're really craving some good and honest Mac and cheese you will not be disappointed. The carbonara mac was...dare I say a little light?? Because it had peas in it?? It definitely felt lighter than the French onion Mac. Both had little nubs of bacon in them, which added a very satisfying crunch and change in flavor. They made the Mac when you ordered, so it came out pipping hot which was awesome. Also, they topped it with crisp and crunchy bread crumbs (always my favorite part). They also offer soup or a side salad for $5 if you think it's going to be too heavy! The sizes range from a $8 small portion to a huge family portion of $22. The regular Mac and cheese is a little less expensive. If you love Mac & Cheese you definitely need to check this place out! WAIT: Came on a Sunday around 6:30 pm and there was 1 person in front of us and several people already eating. The inside is small and there is only 1 cashier so I can imagine a line forming. ATMOSPHERE: There are about 3 long tables that can probably be split up for smaller groups but they were almost all taken by the time we got there. There's also a "bar" area that faces the windows with high top seating. It's pretty small inside. FOOD: First you have to choose which size you want. I believe there are 4 sizes (snack, meal, hungry and then family) with snack being 8 oz. For someone who isn't starving and just wants to feel satisfied, this was enough for me. Next, you choose a "base" which is a preset Mac & Cheese and then you can add more cheese or toppings for extra. For example, their classic Mac is a special blend of cheeses and then you can add more if you want. It's about $1 extra for toppings for the snack size. The cashier did say they don't recommend adding more than 1-2 cheeses. CLASSIC MAC & CHEESE - the classic has a good blend of cheeses that is not too powerful but is still cheesy and tasty. It is topped with breadcrumbs so you have a bit of a crust/crunch on top. I added pancetta and thought it was good but maybe a tad salty (but that's what pancetta is) so next time I might get it plain or just get the French onion which comes with bacon. The Mac n cheese is made with rotini pasta instead of macaroni because it holds the cheese better. I liked it because I like corkscrew type pasta. They start with a base which is already coated in cheese and then they "heat" it up on these skillets and add the extra ingredients and cheese. The pasta is a tad overcooked and I wish it was more al dente but understand that's how it is since it's already pre-cooked. Their Mac n cheese is also more on the saucy side with a few drier pieces (which I prefer). Since they pre-bake the Mac, there are some "burnt" pieces, which I enjoyed for the texture and flavor. FRENCH ONION MAC & CHEESE - husband got this one and I think I liked it because it had really good flavor. It basically has that good flavor from the bacon plus the extra onion that's inside. It tasted pretty similar to my classic but with elevated flavors. They top it with breadcrumbs to make it crunchy on top. 5 star service 2.5 star food I was excited to try this place since Murray's is an institution and known for both its top selection and quality of cheeses. Upon the recommendation of Joseph, the cashier, I got the French Onion Mac, which he explained is made with Mornay sauce. Their mouth-watering Instagram posts of silky, creamy sauce heightened my expectations. Unfortunately, other than the service, what I got was nowhere on par with the cheese shop experience and the photos. A child could have done a better job at packing my order. Underneath the plastic wrap, huge globs of sauce were smeared all over the outside of the container. It made for a messy unwrapping situation. Not to mention unsanitary. To make matters worse, the Mornay sauce was broken and lumpy. Nothing like the photos. Of all things, the sauce should have been a slam dunk for Murray's. Joseph was great. He said that none of that was okay, and he promptly credited me. This aspect of the whole experience is what I associate with Murray's. I stopped by Murray's this past Saturday around 8pm with my girlfriend and we made up two of the three customers in the store. Kinda odd considering the streets were packed but I figured it would be alright since mac and cheese is impossible to mess up. I glanced at the menu and to my surprise nothing was priced under $10 besides the smallest serving of regular macaroni. Between my girlfriend and I, we spent a total of $30 on two small servings which is, in my opinion, outrageously high for a fast-food type of restaurant. Both of our orders looked great upon first inspection but we couldn't say the same about how they tasted. The cheese was smelly and the pasta itself was hard and burnt since it had been sitting out for too long under the hot holder. We both tried really hard to finish our meals because of how much we paid for them but truly couldn't. We felt sick to our stomachs after and seriously would have been better off sitting down for a meal anywhere else. If you stop by Murray's, expect to pay at least $15 for a small serving of macaroni and another $3 for a bottled drink(they don't serve tap water). I saw all over yelp that people are going crazy for the grilled cheese with tomato soup and the macaroni and cheese. I ordered both and now I understand why. The best Mac & cheese to ever exist. The grilled cheese was great, they used a great bread and it made it delicious. I personally did not care for the tomato soup at all, but it comes on the side so it's still worth ordering the dish. Ordered the classic and some tomato soup, waited 20 minutes, checked in with the very indifferent and rude cashier who said she'd go check on our order. We waited another 10 minutes before asking for a refund as I had an appointment and we had already been waiting for over half an hour. The cashier grabbed the manager to help with the refund and she was also extremely unhelpful and rude.
