The chicken parm is definitely my favorite because there's nothing better than a hot sandwich on a cold day. Their chicken cutlet portions are always generous. We usually have them cut our sandwiches into quarters because we like to order a few different ones to share, such as the chicken parm and the Italian combo. We used to get them on their round semolina bread which was absolutely amazing, but unfortunately they don't make the round semolina anymore. The bread here is just top-notch, fresh, chewy, and delicious. They often sell out quickly, sometimes by lunchtime which tells you how popular they are. Why not go to an old-school Italian deli and bakery for that? $16 for meatball parm on a seeded hero with four big smushed meatballs. The meatballs were juicy and tender and delicious! After striking out at the in person lottery at the Public Theater for Shakespeare in the Park, I continued strolling downtown and looked in my Yelp collections that I save of places I want to try by neighborhood ... There were so many good distractions along the way, including the newly opened Mommy Pai, the chicken finger place from the Thai Diner team which is across the street from Parisi. Small line on Thursday1pm-ish, with mostly locals on line (as NYers, we were all a bit chatty and in a good mood, waiting to order their yummy sandwiches).
