    Veggie Omelette platter

A classic spot on the LES that matches its name - luncheonette. Classic, fresh diner food served to me at a counter with a swivel stool. The veggie omelette was excellent and also lives up to its name - platter. The timely but barely communicative service is New York. If you find yourself near Grand Street and are hungry, you won't go wrong here.

Had my first meal of the new year here. Loved it. It was crazy but the staff were friendly and attentive. Very good food at a good price.

A true New York style breakfast! Hear the griddle sizzling in the background, smell the aroma of fried eggs and bacon floating in the air, bringing in a nostalgic breakfast experience~

I just got this today. And heads up for any one coming here. I don't want any one getting sick, my community deserves better than this.

I got served moldy food, and they argued with me, being very rude about it also, firstly, I ant a Mami nothing, I'm a dude get it right jack ass, don't come here if you don't want to get sick.

The Reuben is a perfect neighborhood Diner sandwich. Flavorful and perfect with a pickle.Follow us on Instagram: Bigfoodie.littlefoodie

It's nice to sit in a diner feeling luncheonette and get a BLT in the morning. The BLT was cooked right there on the grill in the front. You can smell the bacon being cooked and getting place lettuce and tomato. So simple yet so good.

This place never gets any better and try my hardest to support local business but this one keeps failing. I just ordered from them, please explain to me how you just slap a load of butter on my croissant that is barely even toasted??? The cook is horrible and does not known about putting effort into what he is dishing out. Unbelievable. I truly need too stop wasting my money here because the results speck for themselves. The only good thing about this place are hardworking delivery guys who are always full of smiles and have a great charming attitude. They are the ones who keep this place going.

Eggs over easy with corn beef hash. Perfect

Our wait was at least an hour and a half and were texted when our table was ready. They have indoor and outdoor seating with one bathroom for all to use. We got the viral pancakes and they were everything you'd dream they be and then some for sure very filling and buttery. I got a "pick me up" and it was perfect gave me a beautiful caffeine kick to start the day I recommend for sure. Weather you come for the viral moment this feels like a solid staple in the community with bright music playing everyone kind of everywhere and just a relaxed feel that you can't wait to enjoy after you get seated. Bathroom rating 5/5 very clean for how busy the place is :)

After running a couple of errands while waiting for the table to be ready, we were seated outside at the patio after an hour and 45 minutes. We ordered the famous honey butter pancakes, the korean wings, and the breakfast sandwich with hash brown, scrambled eggs, and sausage. The honey butter pancakes were pretty good but kinda drenched in the butter that made it hard to finish. The korean wings were also alright but the batter to me was kinda thick and heavy and lacked crispiness. The best item we ordered was the breakfast sandwich with hashbrown, scrambled eggs, and sausage. I think the eggs are cooked with cheese, and as someone who typically does not eat cheese, I didn't mind it. I don't know if I'll be back again - I think the concept of an asian twist on the classic diner does sound intriguing but difficult to execute. I also wasn't a big fan of the wait time. If you typically like heavier, diner food then this spot might be the place for you!

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. The brunch menu has a variety of breakfast items, salads, sandwiches and burgers, starters, and entrees (fish tacos, grain bowl, fried chicken). I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor. Our server was friendly and attentive, and he asked us if we had any allergies when he took our order. He came by several times to check on us and refill water. I would return to Friedman's when I'm in the Herald Square area, or check out one of their other locations in the city.

I was impressed by the chunks of pastrami throughout. Very hearty and very delicious! My husband indulged in the Nova Benedict. They packed on the lox. He didn't even finish but found it amazingly delicious. Service was okay. Nothing too spectacular. I almost felt an inconvenience to the server but we didn't have a fussy order nor was it busy (we ordered before the rush). Maybe she was preparing for the rush. Lol either way, it wouldn't stop me from returning.

Burger was better than fast food for sure. Standard diner quality food. The noise gets overwhelming by the end of your meal, but the kids loved the entertainment. Got to hand it to those servers. They're belting out hits while literally taking orders and ringing out checks. Could definitely do without the confetti shower on my meal but it wasn't a deal breaker. "Phil-up-the-bucket" is cringe as hell though. They auto add a 20% tip and you have to ask to have it removed. I think they more than earn it, but to also pass around a donation bucket while you're eating is weird. Very off putting.

Fast forward to 2026 (where I'm finally not broke as hell), the day has finally come, and I am ecstatic about stepping foot into this diner that surprisingly is still standing in 2026. The inside certainly feels like a diner, but not quite the old-school dinginess that I'm used to--it's clean. Given that it was Sunday at noon, it was very crowded in there and mainly flooded with tourist groups, but a table opened up for us pretty quickly. For a NYC diner, the menu is certainly small - this is probably done to keep tables moving faster. I got the Pastrami Hash & Eggs and it was just overdone and super oily and dry--almost as if they just refried everything except the sunnyside egg. Not gonna lie, I was very disappointed, given that I had waited for so long to come here, only to get food that was an attempt to give the staleness another chance by refrying and reheating. I actually beat myself up a little the rest of the day for finishing the whole thing, knowing that the oversaltiness was flirting with opening up some high blood pressure. It was also not moderately priced by any means (was close to $30), but I know I'm helping pay for that Midtown and proximity to Central Park pricing. Not sure if I'll return, which saddens me, but also knowing that they're part of a conglomerate at Fireman Group (and still run independently in a sense) makes total sense
