What could be better on a rainy Sunday night than one of the best French onion soups found locally! The Hungarian pizza was delicious.. My son gave the steak a mixed review, he said it was better last time and my friend gave the Orecchieta a 5/5. The only disappointment was in the cannolis. They most definitely had the refrigerator taste. But it's very hard to keep a cannoli and not have that happen. Overall it's still 4.5 stars and I would go here anytime! read more

The service here is always relatively good. Our waiter was super sweet and gave us great recommendations. We all ordered the salmon dishes and different salads... I've noticed that over the years the salads are not really consistent with what is actually in them and what is reflected on the menu. However the ingredients are fresh taste so good. My salmon was a little over done, and has to be sent back. I enjoy this place, but consistency would be appreciated after being a frequent guest here. read more

Went to this restaurant today with my patens and 4 kids age ranging from 4 to 6. Walking in at 12:30 and promptly ordered. At 1:10, our food hasn't shown up yet even though the place was half full. Asked the server to at least bring out the kids pasta with butter and was told the kitchen is busy and they'll do their best. Meanwhile a couple with their kids who entered at the same time we did, had received their food, ate and left before we got our food. Went for lunch on a weekday. Not crowded at all. Ordered a special (rueben). Bread was very good but was far from warm. Beer selection is pitiful. Not cheap either. Our dessert was very good. March 2020 update: Been back twice since my December 2019 debacle and again, overcooked burgers but exponentially fabulous service! On one occasion, remake was well done again. I would knock down another star but burger was still juicy and side spinach was out of the park! Sadly I have to knock down a star because the last 5 times we have gone with out last visit being the worst ever due to our negligent waitress Jenna, we have all had to send our burgers back because in lieu of being rare and medium rare, they were well done! Our last trip there yesterday 12.6 was terrible. We arrived around 3 pm and there were a couple of tables and a nicely seated bar. We placed our very simple order of 2 colossal burgers with provolone cheese and caramelized onions, one with fries and the other with side of spinach (best sautéed spinach you will ever have-don't know what they do to it but it's fresh and tastes outrageous!) waited quite a while for the burgers so right there my ears were tuned in. While waiting, we never ever saw our waitress Jenna again! The runner brings out our burgers and they just don't look anywhere close to MR but we dress the burgers and try to be optimistic. We take a bite and clear as day, the meat is grayish brown! We try to locate our waitress but she's staying by the bar, chatting up a storm. New waitress comes in for her shift and gets right to work hustling around the tables lighting up the candles...still no sign of J girl. Finally we spot her going to and fro the little side room and the bar but she never attempts to come to check on us and our well done burgers that we clearly stopped eating. She then put on her coat and goes outside! Finally I call over the new waitress as I am now exasperated of waiting 10 minutes for someone to check in and sweet waitress apologizes and takes back the burgers. Clearly conveys the message to Jenna who naturally still opts to not pay us a visit...for a moment, I thought maybe I forgot to wear deodorant but clearly wasn't the case. Sweet waitress brings out newly done burgers and then comes back with new mayo upon our request. Yep, still no Jenna! We bite them and yes, finally after 45 minutes, we got 'em right. We actually finish eating and tada, Jenna comes to the table after she has tended the outside boards as we were told and she says how is everything and I told her we had to send the burgers back and she exclaims she knows and at that point I am furious because how do you never check in and I said really rudely yeah, we couldn't find you. She leaves and as she walks away, I ask for the check. She brings it back and I put money in it and nice waitress comes by clears off the table, NOT Jenna and she picks up cash payment and at that point I am livid by the carefree attitude of Ms. J so I ask if they pool their tipbecause I am really not out to punish this establishment which I have loved but want to make a point that if you are waiting on tables, you want to make money, you need to pay attention and work the floor. If they pooled tips, then naturally, I would give my customary 20% especially since nice waitress with glasses was on top of it but they didn't so naturally I paid the bill and went out of my way to leave a twenty five cent tip on a bill that was $32.98. Now the last straw of the story...she knows we are unhappy, she knows why and she never ever apologizes nor does she offer a complimentary anything....and to boot, she has the nerve to charge $1.50 for substituting spinach for fries....really? You neglected us our entire 2 hours there but you made sure you charged us extra for the spinach substitution which I have never ever been charged for? Next time I go, I am requesting my same burger but with no Jenna! Also, please pay mind to the back of the store-the burgers have been getting way too over cooked. We travel about an hour to come here because we love it-should this continue, we may unfortunately bag this place. Overcooking is happening way too frequently and it's an easy fix! March 2020 Update: been back now three times and went again today and all trips, burgers were overcooked and Medium rare was Medium well. Today was too hungry to send back since I am doing intermittent fasting but last 2 times, I sent back and one of the times, the remake was well done. Vibrant spot even mid-week. We have been trying to get here for years as we always go for ice cream next door. We finally made it and were not disappointed. We each ordered bUrgers. They were full of taste, large and cooked perfect. The fries were just as good. Each of us took half home as it was that big. It tasted jUst as good the next day. The fried calamari appetizer was pretty good, as was the homemade marinara that came with it, but it was a small portion for $15. The Smokehouse Burger was cooked the way I requested (medium), but tasted bland even with all the toppings. Coleslaw that came with it was delicious, but for $18 I expected more than a handful of fries especially since they were really good. The Open Faces Brisket is not brisket at all so don't be fooled! It is shaved steak (ribeye?) like a Philly cheesesteak. It was very salty and also not worth the $18 price tag. The servers were very nice and able to deal with the almost-full restaurant easily.
