I came in with two others, one adult and one child, hoping to sit down for a nice Italian dinner. The two guests with me are Black. When we arrived around 6pm, we were greeted with noticeably little warmth and were told there were no tables available except a few seats at the bar. We were eventually allowed to sit at an unprepared high-top table at the front but weren't offered water, etc. As we waited, we watched multiple walk-ins (without reservations) arrive after us and be seated right away. The difference in treatment was hard to ignore. The experience made all of us -- including the child -- feel deeply uncomfortable. We recently moved into Bedford Hills and have passed by Nino's a number of times and decided to stop in for dinner. My wife had Veal Francaise with mixed vegetables while I had Chicken Francaise with pasta. The menu states that both dishes are made "the right way", and they weren't kidding. Both dishes were excellent. The veal and chicken were super tender with the right amount of lemon so you taste it but it doesn't overpower anything else. Nino's being a neighborhood place has it's regulars with people at the bar having a drink watching sports. Big brick pizza oven in the front room and dark wooden beams adds to the overall charm. The restaurant is in a quaint old building across from the train station right in Bedford Hills. When 2 of us arrived at 12 for lunch on Friday afternoon, I thought the place would be packed. We were the only ones there, although I would bet there's a big crowd when the trains come in at the end of the day. We were served immediately with a small plate of Italian bread with oil, olives and grated Parmesan. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan, which was cooked perfectly - light and sweet, so the eggplant had been prepared correctly, acid free with light breading. We also shared a plate of fettuccini Alfredo, which I always order when I try a new Italian restaurant; I use it as a proxy for the chef's capabilities. It's not on the menu, but they prepared it on my request. If they can prepare the pasta Al dente and the alfredo sauce light and not too creamy, and not overcooked, I'm in. We both loved it. My partner ordered the portabello panini, and it disappeared. Excellent panini roll, mushroom almost like a steak. Food is excellent. Since the restaurant was empty, one could expect good service, and we weren't disappointed. The waiter and bus person were attentive, courteous and punctual without being intrusive. We were able to sit at a table in the window nook in front with a great view of the restaurant inside and the train station and street outside. Private and quiet with no intrusive music or crowd noise. We're making plans for a return trip in a few weeks. Nino's is a new go-to place for those lunches. One of these days I hope to get there for dinner and get a sense of the ambiance when it's busy. read more

Cozy, delicious, homemade, relaxing... everything about Nino's feels like a special treat, a classic dinner spot that is so good and so welcoming, no wonder it's been in business all these years. Loved their pillowy gnocchi with such a perfect sweet red sauce and fresh bundles of mozzarella. Their subtle, sweet, fresh baked oreganata clams. The chicken florentine and the bomba dessert were also delicious, and their decaf espresso was off-the-charts smooth. Coming back for their Nino's chicken with Parmesan and lemon and wine sauce. This has to be the worst Italian restaurant in northern Westchester. Terrible carbonara, awful pizza, depressing staff, and over priced. No atmosphere either. From the outside you would think otherwise as it has great curb appeal, but this place should be avoided at all costs. First of all they do not have a drink menu other than a wine list , after the waiter ignored or could not hear me , i was pressured into ordering a $14 weak cosmo . Had lunch here recently with my wife, and had to update them to 5 stars. We had the clam and mussels zuppa, and Caesar salad as our apps. The sauce for their zuppa is unreal. We almost asked our waiter if we could get a container to go. The garlic bread that's served with the zuppa was also incredible, as were the homemade croutons on the salad. It's the little touches that make a big difference. Our main courses were shrimp and scallop fra diavolo over linguine, and shrimp scampi. The scampi was perfect. Lemon, butter, and just enough garlic. We wanted to drink the sauce off the plate. Great service. Great food. Great coffee. All in a quiet, unpretentious atmosphere. Very grateful I stumbled upon this place right across from the metro-north station when I was stranded without a ride. It was at night and cold outside and I could not get a cab at all. There was none in sight and no uber nor lyft nearby at all that night. I walked to this only place lit up and they were so kind. What's best - its conveniently across the Bedford Train Station. Perfect place for a quick drink right after work! The Margarita Pizza should b famous, The crust is perfectly baked, the ingredients were fresh. The toppings were recognizable and the best part: the cheese was delectable. Perfect amount of pull and taste! The selections within the main dishes are undeniably good choices also. My client had salmon on a bed of greens and arugula salad: both looked inviting and crisp. Food is very good. My son is a big fan of the chicken parm. I was very disappointed to go in and see the television on FOX NEWS. I will have to give serious consideration as to whether I give them my money again. Also, if you don't care that they play FOX NEWS, make sure they seat you in the front room. We were pleasantly surprised to find the food at Nino's well above average. We had dinner for my birthday, both got the specials and a fabulous bottle of wine (extensive wine list). Split some appetizers. Nothing disappointed - branzino perfectly delicious and well portioned (much more than I could finish) and a grilled veal chop with arugula/tomato salad. We have also gotten take-out, and weren't as impressed with the margarita pizza as the last reviewer, but after the fabulous entrees maybe we weren't so interested in pizza? ;-) read more

The only thing saving this place is its food. They do have great food. Customer service really does go a long way in my book though. The service here is not good. There's only one young waiter that's friendly. I don't think I will come here much anymore, if at all. Maybe I'd do takeout. Will never go there again. We had a reservation recently, for the front room 7:30 on a Saturday night. The reservation was taken over the phone by Nino, the owner, and he knew who we were and that we only sit in the front room. When we arrived the front room was all taken so he starts getting out menus and tries to lead us to the back room, (which looks like a cafeteria.) So we said no, we want the front so he told us to go have a drink and wait. So we said Ok, you'll buy us a drink? And he nastily said no and said some other very rude things. So we stood at the bar and no one even took our drink order, so we eventually left. Had trouble with him in the past as well. No great loss anyway, Lexington Square is better and the people that work there are actually friendly!!! read more

Ate at Nino's first time ever last night. Have to say, excellent experience, great wines, solid food, fair prices. Loved the pizza, excellent soups, fried calamari not so great, but everything else superb. We sat at the bar and it was fun and comfortable. now for the finale, the "bartender"/hostess/do it all woman/girl (she is too young to be called a woman) was so great. she definitely keeps it all together, don't know how? she has too many jobs yet served us, recommended great food/drink and somehow juggled way too much!! very impressive but if I were her, I would either ask for a raise or more support. read more
