My siblings introduced me to Sake about a month ago, and we have been there almost every Friday night since. I think it would be an understatement to say we are addicted to Sake. First off, who doesn't like an all you can eat sushi restaurant? If you are one of these people, then we can't be friends. There are quite a few good all you can eat sushi in Japanese restaurants in Sacramento, but in my current experience Sake has been the best. Let's start with the food quality. Each dish is made to order so it hasn't been sitting around a buffet table exposed to the elements. We have tried almost every item on the menu, including hibachi, nigiri, rolls, sashimi, rice, noodles and a plethora of appetizers. Our favorites have been the smoked salmon nigiri, seared pepper tuna and salmon carpaccio, hamachi, and salmon, kama, grilled short ribs, shrimp fried rice, and agedashi tofu. I could go on and on, but you have to experience for yourself to truly appreciate the quality of their food. Next, let's talk about service. It doesn't matter what time we come whether it's early brunch or it's the middle of the dinner rush on Friday the service has always been exceptional. The staff are attentive and accommodating. We never have to wait for anything. Our drinks are refilled throughout our meal. Empty plates are bussed very quickly. Lastly, let's talk about the price. Unlike other restaurants where they have different tiers, Sake is all inclusive in one price. You can order what you want without wondering if it's included. read more

All you can eat sushi places are few and far between in Indiana, so when we travel I'm always on the lookout for a great option. The Rancho/Sacramento area had plenty of options, and after reading several reviews we decided Sake was our best bet. We were very pleased with the results! We had a pretty early dinner on a Sunday, and on arrival were seated quickly. It filled up pretty quickly, so I'm not sure if there would have been a wait if it was later, but we were happy to be seated and start our meal. The menu was large, and our server seemed surprised that we didn't order MORE on our first request. I haven't had that before, but also didn't know what sizing would be like and I didn't want to get too much to start and not have the ability to try a bit of everything. To be fair, I'm a pretty 'basic' sushi eater - meaning there are many items on the menu I won't order because I hate any and all of the exotic sauces - especially if I think there might be mayo involved. Eel sauce good, most sauces bad. That's my mantra. The menu was vast - appetizers, many special roll options, all the basics, and several of the hot options like fried rice combos, hibachi, teriyaki, etc. And of course the three ice cream choices that every AYCE sushi place has. (They were out of chocolate which made me sad) There's no way to list everything we ordered, though the itemized receipt at the end made me laugh since it was obvious that we got our money's worth. Just a few observations: -Service was great. Our server encouraged us to order more quite often, and he was helpful in his descriptions of things we didn't know or understand. -The rolls were nice, and seemed to not be 'too much rice' in general, as some AYCE places tend to do -Nigiri was the same, sometimes you see a huge amount of rice with a teeny tiny piece of fish and this was not the case -The teriyaki beef blew my mind it was so good for an AYCE --Sashimi options were plentiful and they had great presentation All in all, a great experience and I highly recommend. My boyfriend and I came for the first time tonight after searching up a few AYCE sushi places. Both of us were so pleasantly surprised!! Our waitress was on top of service. Any time we were ready to order food and drinks she was there! I believe her name was Jocelyn :) The food was really good. Our appetizers were particularly flavorful with the jalapeños and edamame being our favorite. The rolls are good too... we had six rolls between the both of us. The size of the rolls is smaller which makes it easier to eat and try different things. The nigiri was super good. I was so impressed every time they brought a new piece out! The green tea ice cream is delicious and was a perfect dessert choice to end out the night. The dining area has nice lighting and they played nice ambient music the whole time. I honestly wasn't expecting AYCE sushi to be this good--but Sake AYCE Sushi completely overdelivered. The quality and freshness of the fish were impressive. Service was top-notch; the servers worked seamlessly as a team and were always helping one another, which really stood out. The hot food came out hot and fast, which is a huge plus. I've never seen AYCE offer add-ons like amaebi and uni, and both were excellent quality--not the cheap stuff. Yes, it's a little extra, but absolutely worth it for true sushi-grade amaebi and uni on the side. I only wish they offered raw oysters. Other than that, this is an incredible value for AYCE sushi. For AYCE sushi at $35 per person, the price is okay. It's reasonable, but I don't think it's super worth it unless you really focus on ordering lots of nigiri and sashimi for a few rounds. The menu also includes special rolls, maki and hand rolls, appetizers, hibachi, salads, and stir fry. The appetizers were pretty basic and nothing really stood out. I skipped the stir fry rice and noodles altogether. I did try some shrimp from the hibachi and it was fine, nothing special, but it had decent flavor. Also includes ice cream. I had green tea flavor. Looks like it's pre scooped and melted while it was being prepped, then stuck back into the freezer to serve later... The hand rolls were very different from what I'm used to. They're more like mini tacos. I didn't mind the switch-up, but the filling falls out easily when you take a bite. I also had the miso soup and it was bland and lacked flavor. I definitely made the most of the nigiri and sashimi, and the fish quality was decent. The seared salmon was my favorite. I loved the smoky flavor. The employees were all super nice and worked fast and efficiently. Service was straightforward and smooth. There's no limit on how much you can order each round, so pacing yourself is key. It was also nice watching the sushi chefs in action. The restaurant had a very chill vibe and made for a relaxing dinner. It was busy but manageable, with no crazy rush or long wait. Came here on a Saturday evening for AYCE sushi ($35.99) and wow - this place absolutely delivered. From the first round to the very last bite of mochi, everything hit exactly the way you hope an AYCE spot will. The sushi was super fresh, not rushed or sloppy, and the hot items like the deep-fried jalapeños and tempura came out perfectly crispy and hot every time. No sad, lukewarm plates here. And don't sleep on dessert - ending the meal with unlimited mochi was the perfect finale. Freezing cold, creamy, and refreshing after all that sushi. What really sets this place apart is how efficient and well-run it is. Orders are placed on upgraded tablets, which makes it easy to pace yourself and not miss anything. I have already came back twice. The food is pretty on point for an ayce place and I love that you can get sashimi and nigiri without unlocking another menu tier price. Service is quick and the people are nice. Their fish taste fresh and the presentation is still pretty solid and they put love into it. Never realized this AYCE sushi restaurant existed! It was busy on a Saturday night but for our party of 7, we were seated rather quickly. The restaurant was very loud (there was a big party that night); however, our waitress did a great job hearing all our orders. Making a reservation was easy and our table was already set when we arrived. The establishment isn't as large as I thought it would be. Still a good amount of seating, but I suppose there will be wait times during peak hours. The menu consists of appetizers, sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and more. They have a great variety of seafood and my group went CRAZY on the sashimi. The staff were very patient with enough and everything was served beautifully. The food quality was very high and we really enjoyed the sashimi. Everything was decadent, soft, and had great flavor. For one negative, the bathroom could use some upkeeping. It doesn't look like it is regularly cleaned and had a bunch of paper everywhere. The toilet looks dirty and so do the floors and sink. It's an all you can eat (AYCE) Japanese restaurant right behind Panda Express, but not in the typical fashion. There's no lines and buffet style hoarding of the best stuff on the floor. You get a menu and order à la carte from the AYCE menu. The food comes beautifully prepared and presented like any other Japanese sushi restaurant. You get all the appetizing food you want without the line, mess, and hygiene. It's the best of both worlds! With the format out of the way, let's talk about the food! You can go for the dinner menu which includes everything from weekday lunch menu plus sashimi and hibachi short ribs. Other rolls and appetizer might vary but nothing stood out. We love the dinner menu as my parents and I are big fish eaters. Endless sashimi is god level and the fish are fresh! Their poke plates are also great from spicy jalapeño siracha hamachi to sweet and tangy orange slice albacore. It is the best without dealing with extra rice from the typical nigiri and feeling guilty about wasted rice or diabetes for the older generation. Their hibachi shrimp is well flavored, clean, and cooked just right with a good amount it chewiness. Their short rib also rivals those of Korea. Bbq without even having to do it yourself! Coming here is like going to a traditional Japanese sashimi restaurant, Korean bbq, and hibachi grill all at once! There's also dessert at the end to cap it all off. The service is great, food plentiful and full of selection and fresh, great ambiance without AYCE buffet baggage. It's certainly becoming our family favorite that we go weekly when we can. Side note. This new AYCE sushi spot is pretty decent for the price! Lunchtime was $25.99, and kids under 4 are free. They had a wide selection of non-sushi items which was great for our kids. The dinner time menu looks pretty similar but has sashimi and chirashi, but I'd rather save $10 and just go at lunchtime. The nigiri was surprisingly really good, and the fish was very soft, although I would've liked maybe a tad less rice. Our favorite was the seared salmon! Wish they had some more nigiri variety like the seared salmon that had other toppings/sauces too. We got some of the rolls too, and I liked that they had the number of pieces listed on the menu. We tried the Black Dragon and Tiger rolls first but they looked almost identical, except one has asparagus. Most of the roll descriptions sounded so similar, so some variety would be nice - I'm always in search of one that has lemon! We tried the sweet potato roll which I've never had before. It was good but very starchy as expected! For dessert they only offer ice cream cups in 3 flavors. Great quality sashimi slices, very generous with the cut of the fish. Most of the dishes just completely melted in our mouths. The carpaccio was definitely the highlight of the meal; the sweet and tangy flavor of the orange slices on the salmon sashimi was the perfect blend and addition. The rice proportions was also really great, not too much, so you don't feel too full from the carbs. The service was good, welcoming and kind. Our server was a bit slow on coming back to give us another round, and our fish neck did take a good minute coming out. By the time it came out, we were nearing fullness. I didn't realize it was an all you can eat sushi restaurant. Dinners seem to be about $36 per person. Menu has an array of appetizers, Nigiri, sashimi, and rolls. I really enjoy their salmon dishes. We ordered a lot of seared salmon, Ikura, and salmon sashimi. I would come back for these alone. I also tried their fried oysters, calamari, takoyaki, and softshell crab. seafood was fresh and or well fried. Dessert is a choice of green tea, ice cream or strawberry ice cream. Though the menu is not as extensive as the all you can eat sushi place in Folsom, it is about $10 cheaper than the tier that I get at Pier $50, and the cuts are better. Same great food, but the service and presentation of food hit a new level--which makes sense because they weren't slammed like the weekends. I'm not a calamari fan, but it's offered as an appetizer if you are someone who is a fan! I was seated very quickly, and my water refill was quick and without question. Most sushi places do California roll with avocado, and some with cucumber instead of avocado. I prefer the more commonly used pairing with avocado. This place makes their California roll with cucumber. It's not specified on their menu, so fyi before you order a California roll. No spider roll/no soft shell crab at this all you can eat place. Most of their speciality rolls are drowning in special sauce. FYI before you order. Most of the sauces are a nice complement, but if sauce isn't your thing, let your wait person know, when you order. I love the inside! It's clean, spacious, well designed with decor setting the mood without being overdone. A giant wall painting of Mt Fuji with cherry blossoms takes up almost an entire wall.
