Sashimi that looks good but tasted extremely fishy and not fresh..
    Jingxian L.

Food was alright, but the dinning experience was awful. The servers were very nice initially, but the system they have for ordering is just atrocious. Long wait times, missing orders, and the servers seeming to get more annoyed with us when we try to order more food. It was almost impossible to flag our server down for anything after our second round of ordering. It felt like they didn't want to give us more food... The portion sizes were also very small. We would finish our food within 10 minutes, wait 10 minutes for the server to come back, then wait 15 minutes for our food to be served. I think we would've had a much better experience if the soup and salad was a self serve bar. The fish was also not the freshest. My little brother actually gagged after eating a piece of the yellow tail because it was so fishy. We politely informed the staff so they would not charge us for the uneaten fish and were met with a dismissive manager. They stated that the fish was fine and my brother's tastebuds were off???????? We're not trying to argue, we just wanted to let them know that there was something wrong with the fish and that's why we didn't eat it. Then it took another 20 minutes to get our bill as the icing on the cake. Overall, very disappointing, very expensive, and very chaotic.

Visited twice and loved it! Clean interior (including the bathroom), easy parking, and great service. Fish quality is a 10/10-best I have had in Sacramento, easily. The sides and appetizers are not the best I have had ever, but still tasty nonetheless. Waitstaff have always been kind and did their best. Definitely on rotation now!

BEST EVER! Found my new favorite all you can eat sushi! Very good service. The dining room was clean and had good vibes and ambiance. I enjoyed my meal! Thank you Sake and to my bf for taking me on this lovely date.

I wanted to follow up on my previous review of this sushi spot and add some pictures. Since my review my boyfriend and I have gone back multiple times. The food is always fresh and so delicious, the service is truly great, if you're looking for AYCE sushi this spot is a top recommendation! Love love love!!

The absolute freshest and most amazing salmon sashimi I've ever had, ESPECIALLY for an AYCE! The rolls are alright, but my bias is that I always aim for the raw fishes in sushi places. Again, for AYCE, the salmon was amazing. The owner (Sophia) was really really nice as well, and the servers were also quite friendly. Came with a party of 11 at ~7:30 PM on a Saturday and we got seated very very quickly. Only critique is that it felt like with large orders of mixed sashimi, nigiri, etc, even if our server got it right, what we received wasn't right. No biggie though: it's an AYCE!

My boyfriend and I came for the first time tonight after searching up a few AYCE sushi places. Both of us were so pleasantly surprised!! Our waitress was on top of service. Any time we were ready to order food and drinks she was there! I believe her name was Jocelyn :) The food was really good. Our appetizers were particularly flavorful with the jalapeños and edamame being our favorite. The rolls are good too... we had six rolls between the both of us. The size of the rolls is smaller which makes it easier to eat and try different things. The nigiri was super good. I was so impressed every time they brought a new piece out! The green tea ice cream is delicious and was a perfect dessert choice to end out the night. The dining area has nice lighting and they played nice ambient music the whole time. For being such a great place they weren't too busy on a Sunday night. My boyfriend and I had already decided by the end of the meal that we would definitely be returning here!

I honestly wasn't expecting AYCE sushi to be this good--but Sake AYCE Sushi completely overdelivered. The quality and freshness of the fish were impressive. Service was top-notch; the servers worked seamlessly as a team and were always helping one another, which really stood out. The hot food came out hot and fast, which is a huge plus. I've never seen AYCE offer add-ons like amaebi and uni, and both were excellent quality--not the cheap stuff. Yes, it's a little extra, but absolutely worth it for true sushi-grade amaebi and uni on the side. I only wish they offered raw oysters. Other than that, this is an incredible value for AYCE sushi. I also love that they have a Yelp waitlist option--super convenient. I'll definitely be back for more.

For AYCE sushi at $35 per person, the price is okay. It's reasonable, but I don't think it's super worth it unless you really focus on ordering lots of nigiri and sashimi for a few rounds. The menu also includes special rolls, maki and hand rolls, appetizers, hibachi, salads, and stir fry. The appetizers were pretty basic and nothing really stood out. I skipped the stir fry rice and noodles altogether. I did try some shrimp from the hibachi and it was fine, nothing special, but it had decent flavor. Also includes ice cream. I had green tea flavor. Looks like it's pre scooped and melted while it was being prepped, then stuck back into the freezer to serve later... The hand rolls were very different from what I'm used to. They're more like mini tacos. I didn't mind the switch-up, but the filling falls out easily when you take a bite. I also had the miso soup and it was bland and lacked flavor. I definitely made the most of the nigiri and sashimi, and the fish quality was decent. The seared salmon was my favorite. I loved the smoky flavor. The employees were all super nice and worked fast and efficiently. Service was straightforward and smooth. There's no limit on how much you can order each round, so pacing yourself is key. It was also nice watching the sushi chefs in action. The restaurant had a very chill vibe and made for a relaxing dinner. It was busy but manageable, with no crazy rush or long wait. There's a big parking lot and lots of nearby shopping too, which is perfect for walking off the meal afterward. I'd go again for a cheap eats sushi.

An assortment of random sashimi I ordered, really beautifully presented

The food here is delicious, especially if you enjoy sashimi and nigiri! It's very reasonably priced and the staff is very friendly and attentive. It's clean, cool, and is excellent for both big and small parties! We will be back!

Love Sake! It's our go-to AYCEs. We've been here four times in the last three months. We wanted to switch it up from All You Can Eat Korean BBQ to something lighter and Sake fits the bill. They have a great selection of fishes for sashimi which you don't see often at AYCEs. The rolls and fish to rice ratios are pretty good and they have great selections of appetizer and hot items.

Came here on a Saturday evening for AYCE sushi ($35.99) and wow - this place absolutely delivered. From the first round to the very last bite of mochi, everything hit exactly the way you hope an AYCE spot will. The sushi was super fresh, not rushed or sloppy, and the hot items like the deep-fried jalapeños and tempura came out perfectly crispy and hot every time. No sad, lukewarm plates here. And don't sleep on dessert - ending the meal with unlimited mochi was the perfect finale. Freezing cold, creamy, and refreshing after all that sushi. What really sets this place apart is how efficient and well-run it is. Orders are placed on upgraded tablets, which makes it easy to pace yourself and not miss anything. The manager was an absolute riot - high energy, on top of everything, and kept the whole place moving like a well-oiled machine. The support staff deserves major props too: plates cleared quickly, drinks always topped off, and no awkward waiting around. Fair warning: this place gets busy, and for good reason, so plan accordingly and expect a wait during peak times. I've tried plenty of AYCE sushi spots and while many are good, this one is next-level greatness. I was honestly a little skeptical before arriving, but I'm so glad I was proven wrong. I'll 100% be back. Thank you, Sake Sushi team - keep doing what you're doing!

I have already came back twice. The food is pretty on point for an ayce place and I love that you can get sashimi and nigiri without unlocking another menu tier price. Service is quick and the people are nice. Their fish taste fresh and the presentation is still pretty solid and they put love into it. Restaurant has large booths and tables to combine for big parties but it's a little too dark in here for nice lighting for my food pic. Haha not a biggy.

Holiday shopping is tiring but glad we found Sake! This is an all you can eat spot on the weekends and if you're tired and hungry, this place is a great place to eat!! They have their own parking but you can also park on the shopping center side. Service folks are attentive and quick!! Food is good and price is affordable. For an all you can eat spot, I would go here all the time if it was closer!

We arrive and we walk in and I notice the restaurant is completely empty. I started to wonder if this place was good? But, I was like whatever I'll try it. We walk in and are immediately greeted and told we could sit anywhere we like. The waitress brings us water and menus. The waitress was friendly and gave us time to order. I ended up ordering a vegan roll and a Philly roll with hot tea and a Sopporo. My friend order edamame and a veggie roll as well. My tea comes first and then our beer and food. My goodness the Philly roll was so fresh and delicious the salmon was fresh and not the smoked stuff. The star however was the veggie roll the avocado and cucumber were so refreshing. At the end of our meal we were fine complimentary slices a watermelon it's was super sweet and tasty. I will definitely be back for sure. :)

This was easily the worst sushi I have ever been served…read more I previously worked as a sushi restaurant supervisor and have eaten sushi extensively, including in Tokyo, so I don't say this lightly. I visited on a weekend afternoon and was the only customer in the restaurant, with just one chef and one server present. I ordered a torched roll. I could hear the torch being applied for several seconds, and when the plate arrived the rice was literally blackened and crunchy from being burned. The albacore on top was stiff and overcooked, the sauce was excessive, and the shrimp tempura inside was soggy. Every component was mishandled -- from ingredient freshness to execution -- and after two bites I felt sick and could not continue eating it. I considered asking for a replacement, but the chef left the restaurant immediately after serving the dish. The server was polite and understanding when I explained I couldn't eat the food, and I left without ordering anything else. I have given this restaurant multiple chances and this was the final one. With several other sushi restaurants nearby, I strongly recommend choosing elsewhere.

Come noon, and checking my ETA to Los Angeles already pushed back to 21:00 PM, I decided to drive my rig in town to get something to eat before making that 10 hour drive down south. And I settled for Wabune Sushi in the Raleys Grocery Store plaza. So onto the review: I ordered a ton of food, and even wrote everything down on paper for the newbie server. Hamachi Kama: felt it wasnt Krispy or charred enough. 3.5/5 Volcano Mushrooms: wasn't what I was expecting, it was just a bunch of shrooms, battered up with some cream cheese 2.5/5 **would skip ordering this Douglas Roll: wasn't anything worth remembering, as in typing this an hour 1/2 later, I cannot recall what was in the Douglas Roll besides red sauce and spicy tuna, shrimp tempura....so it must have been a mediocre roll 3/5 Chirashi Bowl: was ok, sashimi was fresh, but nothing along the levels of Sushi Gen in Little Tokyo Los Angeles 4/5 Uni: I want to allege after finishing both Uni Nigiri that this wasn't the freshest, because of the complex after taste, it was somewhat bitter with a fishy aftertaste and the coloring was a bit dark. If you ever go to a Mitsuwas or Marukai or Nijiya and look for that shining glistening gold packaged air-imprted Uni...yeah. You'll know what I mean. Totally different. 3 2.5/5 Amaebi: Corral Sweet Shrimp Raw Nigiri: probably the only shining star or the 4/5 *Although I suggest next time removing the heads of the shrimp and steeping them with Miso soup for an additional layer of presentation, it would give the Miso soup more Umami And what else am I missing.....yes the Oysters at Market Price ($16.00) Ok aside from the fact the restaurant operators couldn't really name where the oysters were from...I'm assuming it's frozen oysters...I wanted to give this starter a higher score, but Everytime I slurp, I get fragments of the Oyster shells in my mouth, and honestly, I find the oysters that you can get at Wholefoods market Alot of times better quality and taste (being better quality oysters are sweeter and have less of that Seafood aftertaste. So unfortunately I have to give this order a 2.5/5 even though I finished it because the ponzu and chilli sauces they used really masked the natural tastes of the oyster. Mochi Green Tea Ice Cream: Skip. This is just supermarket mochi ice cream, you can pick up better at Sprouts or Wholefoods. 3/5

I don't know if my experience would be better if I dined in, but I grubhubbed food from here twice…read moreand BOTH times something went wrong with my order. The first time I ordered, I got a tempura udon, so it was an udon soup that should have came with mixed tempura. The box that should have been my tempura was SOMEONE'S LEFTOVERS. Half eaten rice and the lettuce that would usually be served under the meat. I called the store and the person who packed my order so happened to answer and apologized profusely explaining that some customers had set down their boxes where he was packing the food and must have grabbed the wrong box by mistake. Grubhub refunded that item for me. I decided to order from them again today because last time I also got sushi and I had to admit...the sushi I had is the best I've had in Rancho Cordova! So I wanted to try other rolls, so this time I got the Express Lane Roll and then the Northern Light Fish Wrap. The way the fish wrap was described, I was under the impression there was NO RICE. As the name suggests, the wrap is fish instead of rice, right? So consider my surprise when I open my box and I see TWO sushi rolls. I was so confused. One matched the description of the Express Lane Roll, but I had no idea what the other roll was. The inside had crab mix, salmon, and tuna like the fish wrap was supposed to have, but outside the roll was topped with jalapeno slices, unagi, and maybe more tuna? It's supposed to be topped with deep fried jalapeno and sweet potato. There wasn't mention of unagi being in this wrap. Again, I will give credit where credit is due...both rolls were very good! But I'm so frustrated that my only experiences with this restaurant were so bad. I did request a refund because I did not receive what I ordered; the fish wrap is more expensive than their fancier sushi rolls, but I also feel bad because I do want to support a restaurant I recognize has good food. Perhaps my experience would be better if I dine in, but my question right now is would it be worth spending more money at this place if my orders keep getting messed up?

When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated by a very sweet young lady named Violet who ended up also being our server. The inside was clean, with a wall of TVs that formed one large screen, lights on the walls, and they had pink heart balloons all throughout for the holiday. We had already picked the items we were interested in beforehand, and Violet let us immediately order. We got the Hamachi Kama, the Shrimp Daddy, The Northen Lights Wrap, 2 small bowls of miso soup, the BBQ Albacore, the House Wife Special Roll and the Philly Cheesesteak Roll. EVERYTHING tasted SUPER FRESH and incredibly delicious! We HIGHLY recommend the Shrimp Daddy and the Northern Lights Wrap, but honestly you can't go wrong with any of the items we selected. Violet was VERY professional, personable, and tentative and took great care of us. The other server, Gayane, was also very sweet and came over and gave my wife a miniature chocolate cake (made by a local bakery called Heavenly Pasteries) as a Mother's Day treat. Then at one point, Chef Maguro walked around and checked in with every customer and stopped at our table for a chat. Maguro was such an incredibly cool and talented guy. He told us he's been a sushi chef for about 28 years, and it shows. He's also responsible for all the delicious looking pictures on their website and in the restaurant. Not totally sure if Chef Maguro made ALL of our food, so we need to also shout out Chef Henry as well. This place is excellent! The food was super tasty, and the people working there really sold the experience. Thank you for being a wonderful server, Violet! Someone give this woman a raise! And thank you Chef Maguro for being a stand up, awesome guy! We will for sure be coming back again soon!!

The sushi rolls and sashimi dishes we picked still had a lot of fish pieces and very very fresh. Just that one big ding on a non-sushi based dish and of course the prices. Aside from that, I still love coming here and the Fair Oaks location is still near and dear to my heart.
