I don't remember Mustard Cafe having such a nice variety of food on their menu. I had their breakfast burrito and it was very good and filling... reminds me like the ones at Sessions. Stopped for a quick bite in Newport Coast & decided to try this place. Nice cafe with so many sandwich & wrap options, pizza, fresh salads, & all day breakfast. Small indoor dining area but they do have some outdoor seating as well. Chicken pesto panini & the truffle blanco pizza totally hit the spot. Their ceasar salad was delish. Family agreed the best feature of this establishment is their easy to crunch ice. Downhill from there. Place is cramped and overfurnished, difficult to maneuver around other patrons to get to fountain drink machine, utensils and condiments. Service on the slow side, usually few employees visible. Menu is concerningly broad: toast, eggs and pancakes; paninis, hot and cold sandwiches, pizzas, various salads. On our most recent visit (have been in here a few times in past 10 years) tried a panini, apple pecan salad, and Beyond burger. Takes a while to get food, and if a hot day some of the outside tables will be searingly hot because umbrellas can't completely protect from the midday sun. No one seems to sit inside--see above comment about cramped space. Also hot in there. Food itself was mediocre to bad. Panini was best of the items we tried, burger, fries and salad were super dry and unseasoned. Salad actually seemed custom designed to extract all moisture from your mouth. Chicken tasted like cardboard, Parmesan dry, tart apples chalky, dressing light and sour. We all thought overpriced too. Paid ~$60 for the 3 lunch items. My friends & I wondered why we haven't been here before for our brunch meet-ups... There's a great selection of breakfast & lunch options. I was looking for eggs Benedict this morning and decided to try Mustard Cafe. I was not disappointed. The eggs were prefect and the hash browns crunchy, just the way I like them. I did not take a picture. They also made a delicious BLT for my daughter. The service was excellent. The young lady that assisted me was very accommodating and friendly. The cafe is clean and quaint. We saw quite a few diners there around 11;45 am and decided to give it a try. We just split a patty melt and ordered 2 lattes. The ambience is what one would expect in a coffee shop. The service was good although it took a little longer for the food to arrive considering that the place was not too busy then and we were just getting a sandwich. At a first glance, the sandwich looked good and fresh. But there was no ' love on first bite' since it was totally lacking any taste. Even the omnipresent Ketchup couldn't rescue it. I came for the Eggs Benedict. I'm always looking for Eggs Benedict made the correct way. And here, it's 75% correct, the only thing missing was that lemon zest. It actually had no lemon at all. The Canadian bacon was good, the poached egg was on point, the English muffin was flat( like a thin version). I'll keep looking. And they don't put mustard in the hollandaise sauce which 50% of restaurants do- that's a big no no.. The pancakes were thick, but you could taste the unmixed batter, and were dry, Dennis makes a better pancake. Had a Blueberry Scone too- big mistake. I was terrible, dry and no flavor at all. I came with a group after our hike. You know how you wish you had ordered something else after seeing what everyone else got? That was me but I didn't want to go back in and order something else. I got the English Muffin Breakfast sandwich. Not much to it; kind of small. I probably should have just ordered lunch instead or a bigger breakfast dish. So glad I found this place by happenstance - EXCELLENT food and service. GLUTEN FREE & KETO options too. I got the "bagel and lox" minus the bagel add GF bread - de-lish! The manager is an amazing guy and he was visible & cooking. Came out and talked with the customers (me included). I love their coffee. I'm a little bit of a coffee snob and I thought the coffee was exceptional. My daughter got a bloody Mary which I was surprised was on the menu it was very good as well. First visit here and grabbed some food to-go. We grabbed two sandwiches. The cranturberry is a thanksgiving style sandwich, turkey with cranberry, greens and mayo. (It also has red onions but I held those off). It was good but maybe needed something else for flavor, maybe a more smoky turkey would help. The side I tried was potato salad if you like onion (which I don't) you will find this flavorful and good. My husband loved the Bella Brie. The crunchy toasted ciabatta paired perfectly with the roast beef and the mild Brie worked with the spicy horseradish, a very flavorful sandwich. The side of coleslaw was also tasty. They have a huge menu and so it does take some time to select an option. They also have a specials board. I would love to try breakfast here it sounds really good. They have gluten free bread too. This is in a busy shopping plaza and you can sit outside which is nice. The man working the register is friendly and upbeat. I drove by the shopping the center, made a u-turn and took a chance that there might be a breakfast place there. I'm so glad I came inside. Such a great find for breakfast on our way home from a family vacation. Everyone loved their food and when I sat down with my family I hadn't ordered anything since I'm gluten intolerant and had gf oatmeal in the car. The owner heard I had z celiac disease and brought me over a gluten free cookie to try on the house and told me he had great gf bread if we return. We'll be back anytime we're in the area! I've stopped in here a few times for the gluten free chocolate chip cookie, and I just wish they would make it a gluten free sugar cookie. That is literally what it is. It's a sugar cookie they place chocolate chips on top of. Tbh I'm always disappointed and I always think it should really just be a sugar cookie. Zero stars - RIP OFF! ordered 2 bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches on gluten free bread and one coffee. Charge was $40! I asked the man at the counter if that was correct since the sign says $11.50 +gluten free bread extra $1.95 per sandwich. He said the bacon is $7 extra per sandwich. I explained I did not want a side of bacon just bacon on the sandwiches which ended up being approximately one piece per sandwich. He would not admit the mistake or change the total charge. Good place for brunch/lunch. Came here for brunch/lunch after a pretty strenuous trail run and was hot and hungry. My friend wanted breakfast and I wanted lunch, so this place satisfied both of us. She ordered an omelette and I ordered a sandwich which comes with a choice of slaw, pickle or chips. The sandwiches are also build your own, so you get a choice of bread, cheese, meat and what veggies you want. I opted for the peppered turkey which was pretty tasty. The slaw was ok, a bit watery than what I like. With the yelp check-in you also get a free cookie, which is awesome!
