The food tastes great, the service was friendly and fast, great selection of pastries.

This little place, nestled in Newport, California, on the E Coastal Highway, exudes a French theme and offers a delightful Saturday tea time. I thoroughly enjoyed their breakfast; it was delicious and the service was impeccable. However, I would suggest that they ensure their eggs are cooked to the desired temperature, as mine arrived lukewarm instead of hot. It was simply cooked and not left to sit for a minute. Despite this minor issue, I had a wonderful time and look forward to visiting again soon

I absolutely adore this place. I have been able to try many of the items including the beignets (YUM) and turkey and cheddar croissants ( also YUM). Plus, they have French onion soup! The location is great. There's tons of local shopping like florists, home decor, and toy stores on the same block. I love coming here and spending part of my day wandering around. The beach is also 3 blocks away, so grab a coffee and enjoy the view! My visit this time is in regard to the Quiche Lorraine. The pastry on top is perfectly buttery and flaky. The star of the show is the bacon: it's salty and delicious. Every bite is stellar. They truly pack so much into this dish. I have never been more impressed with a quiche, and that's hard to achieve! It's hard to find an authentic French cafe/bistro. I am so glad I found one.

Cute little pink cafe with brunch and lunch options. Stumbled into this pink playhouse post work out. One standout was their endless options for both savory and sweet crepes. Wanted to try them all. This time decided on the La Nordic crepe which consisted of smoked salmon, Gruyère cheese, and lemon chantilly. Honestly the salmon was more cooked than I was hoping for and a bit fishy side. Flavor was ok but wished I had ordered the other I was eyeing...La Tomato (mozzarella, tomato, and basil) or the La 4 seasons (scrambled eggs, cheese, and variety of veggies). Paired with a strawberry matcha which was good but nothing special. Added the flourless chocolate cake. So soft but but on the dry side. Flavor was just ok. They also had a whole variety of pastries which looked delicious. Will be coming back to try the others for sure.

The pastries always get the job done but you're definitely coming here for the vibe over anything. Being on PCH and sitting on the patio is a great way to start a Saturday.

We frequent Rendez Vous often for breakfast because this charming place is consistently great on every level. It's a small, always a busy spot, but the staff are warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. Their display of breads, pastries, cakes, cookies basically whatever your heart desires is both beautiful and delicious. The coffee and breakfast never miss. If you're in the area, definitely check out this adorable French café promise they won't disappoint!

Excellent service...by cashier and servers! Quaint and cosy outside and inside. We ordered plain butter and ham with Parmesan croissants... Both huge!!!! So flaky, crunchy with melted Parmesan cheese on top of ham one. Inside was so airy...with a bit of ham on the bottom! We shared chicken Alfredo with little edible flowers adorned the edge and huge slides of Parmesan covered the whole plate. It came with two slices of their own bread! Thick creamy sauce was so flavorful as we break up the cheese and mixed it in, good size roasted chicken, very filling! I was so hungry that I didn't take a picture, but showcased what's onsite. This establishment is a must. I think I'll come and fly in! Ciao!!!

Can't say this enough, but I love crepes and can't say no to one when I see it on the menu. Today I stepped in and saw and lemon sugar crepe on the menu. I am very fond of anything lemon so I had to give it a try. There was not enough lemon, but the pockets of sugar was fun. I was a bit disappointed but I'll come back and try their other offerings. I also got a chocolate croissant to go. It was toward the end of the day and it was still very good. I saved it for the next day, toasted it up a bit and enjoyed it with some tea. Great service. Casual. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Street parking. Please come and create your own experience.

Rendez Vous is located on one of the main streets in Corona del Mar. We came during the week and so parking wasn't an issue but I can see it as a challenge during a busy weekend or prime time hours. Walking in, I immediately got the French vibes - pastries in cases, cafe menu, indoor and outdoor seating. I want to say taking in the ambiance was my favorite part of my experience here. We ordered a few coffees and pastries and got situated in a corner table. I only wish their customer service, their coffee and their pastries were in sync with their aesthetics. We didn't get the cheery, merry mood that most people are in during this time of the year; she wasn't welcoming or warm or approachable. Their coffee and pastries were fair which was also disappointing.

Adorable spot with really friendly service and yummy food! We had the lemon powdered sugar crepe and a chai latte, with a side of bacon and everything was great. Can't wait to come back and try the delicious looking pastries next time!

We've been eye-balling this bakery for some time, and it did not disappoint! There was convenient street parking midmorning on a Saturday, quick and friendly service behind the counter and at the table. Between the guava danish, napoleon, and strawberry croissant, our sampling was a perfect 3 for 3! Any pastry fan needs to visit this business, delicious! A delightful indoor seating area and a small outdoor patio is available. Great environment for a date or with kiddos. (There's also a farmers market across the street on Saturdays, so make a morning of your visit to CDM!

We had Eggs Benedict, almond croissant and Croque Monsieur. Everything was delicious. Eggs Benedict maybe the best I've had, Almond croissant was so so good. Small place with small tables but very reminiscent of a Paris bakery.

    Any halal options?

    Yes

Will you have King Cake for Mardi Gras?

    Yes the do.

    Do they accept reservations?

No , and I will not recommend this place , the prices are higher than Paris, the original owners sold the business, and is not the same.

Do you serve gluten free options? If so, what?

A lot of deserts are gluten free like Versailles , chocolate flourless cake , basque cheese cake and savory crepes which are made with buckwheat

I wonder if the price worth it?

Absolutely! You will not be disappointed.

They have great artisan breads, pastries, and even quiches. It is all fresh and all baked there. We first learned about them at the Farmer's Market in Dana Point. We got some bread and a few almond pistachio croissants. We knew we had to find it while in town. The service was so nice and friendly. The place is super clean and there are tables for eating. It is all just so cute and it smells so good. All of the bread and pastries we had were great. But we really loved their breakfast and lunch. We had a baked baguette with the best butter and homemade preserves. It is called the La Tartine. Their sunrise croissant is great. It has scrambles eggs, the best cheddar cheese and a pesto aioli. You can add avocado or bacon for a just a couple of dollars more. Their Quiche is a must try. It has mushroom bacon leek with ham or bacon or they have a spinach one that also has cheese. For lunch try their Kaskrout Merguez sandwich which has Pan roasted merguez sausage, Tunisian salad of cucumber, tomato, red onion, extra virgin olive oil, and harissa all served on a toasted baguette which is so good. We got an extra to take to our hotel. It was all great, from start to finish.

I think I froze when the lady asked if that's all, having one of those moments of being paralyzed by the freedom of choice. With two pastries on the way and two breakfasts, I couldn't justify a quiche as well. It'll just have to be for next time. But seeing all the food floating past to other tables only solidified the excitement one can have after placing an order. From what I could see AND taste, there's no shortage on flavor nor skimping on spinach! That omelette was substantial but half of everything inside was cold. I didn't know how to feel about that at the time but thinking back now it made the omelette not greasy, so even if it is two distinct temperatures it's still so good and cooked right. The shakshouka (sp?) was very hot and incredibly flavorful with the egg still rightfully runny. The only thing that would've made it to die for on the spot is a little more bread or side potaters to soak up that delicious tomato goo. Good coffee and such a wonderful place for people AND food watching.

Parking can be a little tricky depending on the day because of street sweeping, so keep that in mind. The café offers both indoor and outdoor seating, which is a nice option. Also the food for breakfast and brunch it's really disappointing... since opening they have had the same exact menu with no new menu items, no creativity and just outright bland it so desperately needs a change. The absolute ONLY reason why I gave this review 3 stars instead of 1 is because of the sourdough country loaves... WOW, I would say it's the best bread in OC and the only reason that I'd come back. So if you're looking for a quality sourdough loaf definitely come in for that.... The breakfast wrap really surprised me because it was wrapped in a crepe. Very good and tasty. Lattes and coffee are excellent quality. It's not often that I feel a business who does super well should be at 4 stars instead of 5, but I would say for how small this place is, the service is just okay, and I think the prices are quite high for certain things. You will be serviced quickly, at least in the time I've been here, but I think this place has room for improvement - but that's just my opinion. It's good, but I'm not blown away. I would still recommend giving this place a try, because their croissants are wonderful as it the bread - but hard to compete with a few other well known bakeries.

Reviewing the menu, I quickly knew I was in the right spot and giggled with excitement. I ordered all my favorite straight away; escargot, steak tartare with frites (you must add the egg yolk!), lyonnaise salad (on the menu it's listed as Salade Frisée aux lardon, lyonnaise is a regional name but I know the ingredients), a bottle of Sancerre, soufflé and two espresso. The meal was fantastic, so elegant, refined but made with simple ingredients you can taste. The service was leisurely and impeccable, the waitress was so knowledgeable and welcoming. Most people in the OC are more familiar with the chain bakery Moulin which serves French quick fair but the star of the show is certainly bouillon.
