Sessions West Coast Deli was seriously so delicious. Everything tasted super fresh, vibrant, and thoughtfully made. We ordered the Yogi sandwich with roast turkey, Haas avocado, chimichutney, cucumber, marinated tomato, wild arugula, and a French roll. It was incredibly refreshing and somehow left you wanting more with every bite. The bread also had the perfect crunch to it that tied everything together so well. We also got the Chinese Chicken Salad with roast chicken, kale, swiss chard, arugula, pickled ginger, red cabbage, watermelon radish, crispy wontons, and a Chinese mustard vinaigrette. This was another standout. Every bite woke up the taste buds and had such a fresh, flavorful balance to it. Will absolutely be coming back here for more. One of the best things about being at Fashion Island in Newport Beach is the FOOD! I personally love to eat more than shop and I was HUNGRY after all the walking around. I stopped right by Sessions West Coast Deli and decided to grab a quick bite to eat and I was not disappointed. My favorite was their French Fries!!!! It had the right amount of crunch- it was REALLY good! Service was great - the fries actually came late, so the waiter gave me a free cookie, which was very nice of him. Comes with smoked bacon which was crispy & not too fatty, a fried egg, fresh, quality mozzarella, marinated tomato, basil aioli, pickled onion, arugula & a balsamic reduction. It's served on toasted ciabatta which was fresh/quality as well. Combination of ingredients was really good and I would definitely order this again. Just a month ago I had one of the most delicious sandwiches I've ever tried! The meatball sub was worthy of this restaurant becoming my weekend go-to. I think about that sandwich in my dreams... Unfortunately they went through a recent menu change that is completely and utterly disappointing. Meatball sub was one of the items cut. My daughter and I stopped by Fashion Island on a recent trip to the Newport area and ended up stopping by Sessions for a sandwich to go. I love a good sandwich shop and this place is no exception. After contemplating for awhile between several sandwiches and salads, I went with the Meddock Mellee wrap style. I got the impression when I ordered it this way that they were not a fan of asking for any changes. I ordered it to go and waited about 15 minutes (which was exactly what they quoted me), and then ate it after a short walk back to the pickleball venue we were at that day... Despite it having a tad bit too much cherry pepper spread and not being a huge fan of the marinated tomatoes, the sandwich was very good! You can tell that Sessions uses quality ingredients and there were plenty of other menu items that sounded good. Hello rosemary skinny fries! It looks like they currently have six location in California - all within Orange County I believe. If/when I come across another Sessions, I'll totally return. Side note: if you are at this location and need a restroom, you'll have to either go to the one inside Macy's or the public one nearby. read more

I ordered the face plant veggie sandwich, made it vegan, removed the red onion, and added the Swiss chard kale mix with the G's nuts and oh my God it's the best sandwich I've ever had! Cannot say enough about the flavors...the perfect combination of vinegar combined with the sun-dried tomato and the softness of the ciabatta bread, this is a sandwich that I will be going back for! The quality of the food is excellent and consistent. No wonder why it's been around and it's a favorite on the peninsula amongst everybody that walks in. An excellent choice to bring a sandy down to the beach to lay out or if you're having a intense surf session. This is the good healthy, clean food that you want to eat while enjoy enjoying the beauty of the beach and the water. I would encourage the bathroom get remodeled, (feels rundown), and I noticed a lot of dust on top of the framed pictures, which are really cool. Place could use a little sprucing up a nice little Newport style mini facelift if you will (which is so fitting for the area haha). That said, the food is amazing and such great positive energy. So I've eaten here before and I enjoy their food. This sat am, we decided just to order drinks. I can't say they were the friendliest at all. I literally asked twice what their reward dollars were being ignored. Finally, a 3rd worker answered me. Whatever, no biggie. We got our drinks and sat outside. First time trying this place out. Decided to place a pickup order for the Meddock Melee sandwich prior to a movie we were seeing at The Lot. Pretty good sandwich overall. Only 2 complaints: 1. It was very tomato forward. I wish they would've been more generous with all the other toppings instead of just the tomatoes. 2. They cut the top bread in half but none of the fillings or bottom of the bread, only the top bread which was odd. Wish they would've cut it all the way in half as I did not have a knife to finish the job they started. I wish they had a special requests box under each menu item when ordering online so I could specify for them to cut it in half. Aside from that, I would return to try their happy hour. This location of Sessions at Fashion Island was our first time with this chain and it was certainly quite impressive. The eatery is located in one of the best spots in the mall, right by the end that overlooks the ocean across the horizon with a great American flag flying in the foreground. The tables outside were abundant and Sessions offers ample napkins and utensils to make things an easy dining experience. The avocado toast was amazing and even pre-cut into thirds for a neat eating experience. The agave coffee drink was really tasty too. We were there when it first opened so our food came out pretty quick. I got the spicy crunchy chicken sandwich. It had a nice little kick with the slaw crunchy. Chicken also had a nice crunch and flavor to it. Brioche Bread was also good. There was a perfect amount of sriracha aioli mixed in as well. The spicy crispy sandwich was anything but crispy--it was drowned in sauce, which made the bread soggy and caused everything to fall apart. The dish was unnecessarily messy. My biggest disappointment, however, was the spuds. I paid $5 and was essentially given potato crumbs. Aside from a few intact round chips at the top, the bag was filled with small, broken pieces. Honestly, I would have been better off buying a bag of Kettle chips; they would have been higher quality. The spuds were hugely overpriced for what they offered. If you are going to charge premium prices, the food needs to reflect that by being well-made and thoughtfully presented. read more

Hidden gem. I have been to Fashion Island many times but had not noticed this spot before. It's right next to and shares a wall with Macy's. Congenial staff, cozy and convenient spot. Shop and eat! This place is spectacular & the customer service is amazing. Ive always been a big fan of sessions & used to frequent the original location when they first opened wayy back in 2013. I have to admit it's been a while & I was totally clueless as to what I wanted to eat but I'm glad I got what I did. The big tuna melt was so good, so much fresh dill & the tuna wasn't all warm & weird. The bread itself was toasty & warm and the cheese was melted just right. I also got a side of the Brussels sprouts. O M G. Crispy, sweet with a hint of spice from the pickled red Fresno pepper. The mint I wasn't so sure of at first but it complimented the dish & it was just the right amount. Their rosemary fries, FIRE. Just get them. But honestly the adobo sauce that's served on the side is so good. The fries are good without the sauce but it really is so tasty. Only bummer about this particular location is the indoor seating. I think three small booths & a counter. Not really kid friendly on the inside so I opted to sit outside. There's plenty outdoor seating & most of it is covered. The two girls that helped me today were sweet! This location is in the Macys/Macys Home building. It can be hard to find since it is very small. read more

Qulity control is horrible. My office has ordered there multiple times and they constantly miss toppings on salads. We've called and really nothing was done because stuff still shows up missing toppings. When you pay like $20 for a salad get it right. Heres the latest. We emailed the person Matt who asked us to reach out and no response. Ordered from another restaurant and they didn't screw up the order.
