The best mechanic in SB. HONEST AS THEY COME! If you own a Toyota or Honda and aren't taking your car here, you're blowing it. They are truly the best. It is so hard to find a honest mechanic that isn't looking to charge you for unnecessary repairs/issues. Munoz Auto is by far the most honest mechanic I've ever been to. I've been here twice and they have done amazing work and always come in with cheaper quotes than anyone else in town. They recently saved me a ton of money due to a dishonest mechanic in town feeding me a web of lies. I will never take my car anywhere else. Love supporting local small businesses, especially when they are HONEST, which is a trait that's becoming harder and harder to find. I recommend Munoz Auto to anyone I know with a Honda or Toyota. Great mom and pop shop recommended to me by a friend who knows a ton about cars bc this is where he goes when he can't do something himself They're very honest in their diagnostics Ex. took my car here ready to get everything tuned up after another shop gave one of those extensive "everything is broken" print outs after an oil change. I was prepared to spend and they called my part of the way through the job and let me know I didn't need half of it and gave me a realistic time frame to come back instead of just taking my money. The best auto repair shop in town! It's like living in a small town, they know who you are when you call in. They remember past visits, and ask questions about your family. I took my Honda Prelude there for 15 years, and never had a bad experience. They even give advice over the phone, and NEVER recommend something you don't really need. I was sad when I recently bought a new car because it was a Toyota, and this shop was for Honda/Acura. But to my delight, when I took my Prelude in again, I saw that they had added Toyota to their repair line! I'm thankful, because I wouldn't want to take my cars anywhere else. EXCELLENT! They were recommended to me by my auto mechanic in Orcutt, CA. I took my Acura TLS to their shop as I thought I needed my rear brakes replaced. They were able to pick me up and drop me off from my place of work. About one hour after I dropped my car off I received a call from Angie who told me that I actually didn't need my brakes replaced. They were able to take the pads off, check them out and saw that I actually had about 8.000 miles left on them. Didn't charge me for the inconvenience either. Ill just say this. I have driven my car from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara to have these guys work on my car. They worked on our family car for some 10+ plus year with honesty, speed, quality. No BS, a place you can trust to take your Honda. I NEVER let anyone else but these guys touch my accord few years and there is a reason it has about 270,000 miles on it. For years we took the Highlander to the Toyota dealership for maintenance. Bills were not only high, sometimes unnecessary repairs were recommended, and other times we were flatly misled. Munoz Auto Repair is such a place, and it is because of David, Angie, DJ and Peter that I stick with Hondas and Acuras. They are more honest than the day is long. They care about their customers perhaps even more than about their business. I have entrusted my cars to their car for the last 28 years, and never once have I had even the slightest regret. In fact, they were able to keep my old Accord working until I could afford to replace it recently, a record for a cars longevity. Kind of a different review. I have a Mitsubishi, so I was unable to get car serviced here, but my experience at this shop was phenomenal. My roommate gets her car serviced here and she only has great things to say about it. On a Monday morning(of all days...) on my way to work, my car started dying on the freeway. I pulled over to a gas station and got a jump. I thought I was good to go until I got to my regular auto shop. Not the case, turned out to be my alternator no longer keeping my battery charged. As soon as I got back on the freeway, my car started sputtering and I couldn't go over 30 mph. I pulled off on Salinas PRAYING for a repair shop and there was Munoz. I couldn't make it up their driveway before my car died again. I didn't catch his name, but one of the attendants gave me a jump and gave me directions to a shop I could go to one block away. My car didn't even make it out of the driveway before it died again. He offered to keep the charger on my battery, got in the driver's seat and drove me to the shop next door. He dropped me off and wished me luck. I was so thankful for his help- he went way above and beyond and I can tell l their customer service is exceptional. For such a tumultuous morning, it was much needed and appreciated to have someone care and help out so kindly. read more
