You know it's good when there's a wait & while waiting, people are picking up food to go. I ordered the macadamia nut coffee. It was so good. Not over powering. My daughter ordered the strawberry waffles. My husband said the bacon was amazing. I also ordered the veggie fried rice and added spam. I had my choice of any style 2 eggs. The portion was huge. I literally took more than half home and I can eat a lot. All the portions are big. Definitely go hungry but be ready for a little wait. read more

Sorry, I have to respectfully disagree with the overall rating of this cafe. This is the second time in a year I have been catfished by the high rating. I came here last August and again today with the same food experience. Everything lacked flavor simple sprinkles of salt. We had the egg scramble with pancakes and the pork Benedict with unsalted potatoes. My pancakes were terrible, stiff, and definitely from a box mix. The pork Benedict had an off putting Smokey taste to it and the potatoes, as mentioned above were unsalted. But, for a small price of $3 you could get them with garlic parm truffle (I guess you have to pay for anything other than diy table salt). After all that, the worst part of the meal was the service. Slow, and non existent... we were not asked how our meal was but when we were able to flag someone over for our check. The mini pancake flight is the perfect size to share for 2-3 people! They aren't too sweet and I used it to balance out the salty food. The breakfast country fried steak, with eggs and potatoes was really good. The chorizo gravy was unique and not overpowering. I found the fried rice to be overly salty, it is okay to eat on its own but would not sub white rice out for fried rice. It will overpower your dish. My gf and I were coming back from the Maili Pillbox Trail and wanted to get something to eat. So we looked at Google maps and found ourselves here. We were lucky that we got there a little early because we didn't have to wait to long. We were seated quickly. The venue is pretty small. But we liked the art that was on the walls and my gf liked the music a lot. They had an early 2000s soundtrack on. My gf and I shared the pancake flight and kalua pig eggs Benedict plate. We also had their hot macnut coffee. The kalua pig Benedict was really good. I missed being able to order kalua pig that wasn't dry. California needs to step up their game. The flight of pancakes surprised me. It's definitely for people who have a sweet tooth. I personally liked the ube haupia pancakes. It wasn't too sweet for me. My gf liked the Cookie Butter pancakes. It was really sweet but paired well with the (black) Macnut coffee for sure. I recommend this place for small families as they were only able to seat a few people at a time. My first experience with My Cafe was when brought over takeout one weekend morning. It was good, so this time we went to eat in. There was a line when we showed up around 9:45 on a Saturday, but that's not surprising. We were told the wait would be 25 minutes, but it was more like 10, which was a pleasant surprise. It smelled amazing as soon as we walked in, which was another pleasant surprise & made me realize how hungry I was!! Our server came really quickly, brought us menus and then took our order since we thought we were ready. We had planned to get the pancake flight as well as chicken fried steak plate with an upgrade to fried rice. However, our server recommended that we order sides of country fried steak and fried rice, since they couldn't offer a fried rice upgrade. Done. The fried rice (topped with eggs) came out so quickly, followed by the country fried steak and pancake flight shortly after. The food came up so quickly it was almost like getting fast food!! The flavor of the Kama'aina fried rice amazing! I don't usually order fried rice at restaurants because I can make it myself at home. But I liked the fried rice so much, I could have eaten just that for my meal. But then the country fried steak came out and wow!! It was so tender we were able to cut it with our forks, and the fried coating was fluffy and light. Country fried steak with gravy is usually quite heavy, but this one wasn't! I'm glad that it's also available as a side order, because I'd definitely go back to get it again. The pancake flight was also tasty, but I had already filled up on the fried rice & country fried steak. All 3 flavors of pancakes were good, but I think the cookie butter one was probably the best. The chocolate pancakes (with ube sauce) were very chocolatey--I liked them even without the sauce. We usually rate restaurants by asking "Would you come back?" I knew within the first 2 bites that I'd be back. I have a new breakfast place on the west side!! One more thing that I noticed about My Cafe is that they kept up the panels that I imagine they put in to observe social distancing during the pandemic. If you're staying at Aulani or in the Ko Olina area, this restaurant was only a 10 minutes drive away. It was the perfect spot to hit up for brunch before we headed to hike Diamond Head. We really enjoy the food here--it's always delicious and well-prepared. However, we do feel that the current location can be a bit uncomfortable at times due to the surrounding area. On a recent visit nearby (at Burger King), we witnessed an unfortunate incident involving a couple of individuals in a disagreement, which left us feeling uneasy. It's situations like that which make us think twice about returning. It would be amazing to see this restaurant in a different part of Kapolei--somewhere like Ka Makana Ali'i would be a great fit! As for the prices, we're not complaining. We know food costs have gone up everywhere, and it's something that affects all of us. It's theee most flavorful fried rice I've ever had and believe me, I've had many in my lifetime. I bought aloha shoyu sauce so I can try and recreate this fried rice on the mainland, haha! The gravy was flavorful and the steak crunchy. Eggs cooked beautifully. I only dock 0.5 stars from it because my steak had a little bit of bone in some places that I had to spit out. I came in for brunch yesterday with my partner and we had such a great time. The location is cute and quaint with paintings hanging up and a huge chalkboard wall. The tables are a bit on the smaller side so I wouldn't recommend coming with a larger group. We were sat down immediately, and our orders were taken quickly, even with a packed restaurant. We ordered the country fried steak, lox Benedict, and pancake flight. Everything was PERFECTLY cooked and flavorful. The gravy on the country fried steak was spectacular; only thing I can say here is that it was far more breading than steak but that breading was so good that it almost didn't matter. The Benedict was spectacular with no notes, we ordered the truffle potatoes as a side and they are beyond addictive. Although this location is small and the wait can be about 30/45 mins on the weekend, just know you will not be disappointed on waiting for their delicious dishes! We waited about 35 mins. Cristal our server was good, I do wish they were more attentive with their customers this is why I give them a 3 stars. We waited about 15 mins to get our orders in, or to even get water. It was a little busy but they should have more people taking orders or asking if you at least want water. I assume only one person takes orders here which was her but I wish they didn't have us wait that long. I love how fresh my grilled chicken and avocado omelette taste, the avocado was fresh and the potatoes were nice and crispy. It was not salty at all! It tastes very healthy. The Belgium waffles were nice and fluffy. The bananas were fresh. If you love waffles this is for you! My husband ordered Da Breakfast Burger which he mentioned is very tasty and definitely a lot of food 2 people can share this burger. Split an Açaí bowl with plenty of fresh fruit, the serving size for the breakfast plate was on the smaller end of other typical restaurants. The food was nicely cooked and well presented, pricing was towards the higher end of what two people would pay these days for breakfast, obviously would have been a lot cheaper without the açaí bowl. I remember having take out with these guys before as their actual restaurant is very small. If I remember correctly, the food was very good. Unfortunately this time around, I feel that I either have covid or the food was very bland. And this is based off of mine and my gfs feedback. Everything looked great on the table, but we needed to add salt and pepper to everything. We had the pancake flight, corned beef brisket hash with potatoes and scrambled eggs, the loco moco chicken katsu, and a side of chorizo sausage. Also the chorizo sausage came out whole. We thought it would've been chopped up or sliced. I guess I relate it to Portuguese sausage. I would never expect a restaurant to serve a portuguese sausage whole. But they served a side of chorizo whole. Found that strange. But again, everything we ate just tasted bland and nothing seemed "special" while we were eating. Visiting from California and stopped in for some breakfast. Absolutely fire. The vibes were great, felt like an authentic local spot, and I loved the reggae playing in the background. So nice, we went there twice! On vacation for the first time on the west side, we typically do not like to eat at the same place twice, but rather explore and try new places. The food here was so good, fast, and service was amazing, we had to go back a second time during our week long vacation. Nothing at all was a miss.
