I used to be a massive fan of My Favorite Muffin, but my latest visit brought a mixture of nostalgia and disappointment. The prices here have become astronomical. I was shocked at how much it was for just a few mini muffins. Not only were these things pricey, but they were tiny and not very good at all. We also got a breakfast sandwich on a bagel. Another extremely mid food item. Nothing special. The service? Mediocre. We had some questions about the menu, and the cashier seemed super irritated to have to answer them. Their process of calling orders is messy, which leaves many orders sitting on teh counter for ages before being picked up. Overall, I was disappointed with my latest MFM visit. I recently found out they were a chain, which may explain the decline in quality and increase in prices. So many chains are forcing owners in that direction. Too bad. read more

We were hitting the road to home after visiting the adult kiddos and needed to fuel our tummy's before heading through the hill. My Favorite Muffin never fails. Stopped in here for a quick bagel with my son. He doesn't eat many things, but he will eat a chocolate chip bagel toasted with butter. It makes him happy and doesn't break the bank. I appreciate that. I had a cinnamon apple bagel with cream cheese, which was good! I really wanted a sweet cream cheese though and that would be my suggestion to them. My go-to order is the lox on an everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese, and I always get it closed instead of open-faced because I'm here to eat, not assemble my own sandwich like it's IKEA. Bagel is chewy, everything seasoning actually shows up, and the jalapeño cream cheese has a nice little kick without being rude about it. The lox is generous too -- no sad, paper-thin situation going on. Also, the pastry case is dangerously distracting. Cute little shop with breakfast sandwiches, muffins, and more. The staff was super sweet and helpful. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. I got the turkey and havarti sandwich on an onion bagel. This was an amazing sandwich and I was super pleased with it. I would eat it again in a heartbeat. I was disappointed with the muffins. I got a four pa k to try the blueberry, chocolate cheesecake, lemon cheesecake, and banana nut. The lemon could have had more of a lemon flavor, it was there but not doing too much. The blueberry muffin only had a few blueberries in the batter so again, nothing too exciting. The chocolate muffin was pretty good, but not too much cheesecake filling was inside. The only one I would 100% order again was the banana nut. Great banana flavor, good amount of nuts. My favorite bagel spot in Northern Nevada I've been coming here for at least 10 years now and I have never been disappointed once. From the quick service for their to-go orders all the way to sitting down and dinning in they really know how to make each customer happy with speedy service and keeping a clean establishment. I really love getting the breakfast sandwiches here as they have a bunch of different options and you get to choose your bagel from the giant wall of options they have behind the register. My favorite is the southern tradition. It's just a classic egg bacon and American cheese sandwich but they nail it everytime. It's a must that on the weekends I pick up My favorite muffins for my kiddos, so I made the trip down to California Ave to pick up a dozen mini muffins. The line ran right to the entrance and the every table was sat. The energy was buzzing, but I wish I wasn't standing there that long to just pick up muffins. Everything looked and smell of fresh brewed coffee and fresh baked bagels filled the air. It's been years since I had last been in, but it gave me nostalgia. It used to be a spot I would frequent in my 20's with my oldest. I'll always love and support this local spot. If you're in the area give them a try for brunch. Used to love coming here but the quality of customer service has gone down significantly. All the workers appear to be miserable and annoyed, especially the girl making drinks who let me stand there at the counter for 3 minutes without asking if I needed anything. This morning I went in for a muffin and hot cocoa, but the cashier accidentally rang up a hot mocha as my beverage. No big deal, figured I could straighten it out at the register and get the difference of the up-charge back in cash or as an additional beverage, mochas are almost 2.25 more in price EACH (I ordered 2). The cashier told me there was nothing she could do about it AND also corrected me when I referenced the PRINTED AND POSTED menu prices they had displayed. "All of our prices have recently gone up" but there was no sign or statement to customers to inform them of the almost 1.50 increase on beverages. So all in all, did not leave satisfied and this one experience has ruined this location for me. I will happily drive into Sparks to the other location, the atmosphere and workers are way more pleasant. read more

They have chocolate cheesecake, blueberry cheesecake, cherry cheesecake, and probably more! The muffins are shockingly moist and full of flavor. I can't think of any better muffin I've had. They are also huge and I can never eat a whole one in one sitting. I got a bagel sandwich for the first time and it was pretty eh. I forget the name but I got the one that had jalapeños and guacamole. It was okay but there is a lot of egg and bread and not really much sauce or anything so it's dry and not a ton of flavor.
