Called to get an estimate on installing a new toilet kit and repair a small leak under the kitchen sink. Literally 30 min of work. The tried to charge me $400 which is ridiculous. I called and left several messages for the service manager named Chris to discuss the price, but he never returned my call. Smh... I normally use Reliable but they were booked up during the time I was available. They are pretty good at giving fair quotes and they have decent customer service. Awful experience!!! First off, they My Georgia Plumber prepared when they visited our home. They didn't have the right equipment when they came over after I paid $75 to American home shield...so NOTHING was done and I paid $75! My Georgia Plumber "works with and accepts American home shield insurance" but they do not want to work with American Home Shield because like a doctor they make more money from the customer than they do the American Home Shield insurance company. I was even coerced into trying to deal with then directly and not through American Home Shield. What's the point of getting insurance? My Georgia Plumber just wants more money from the customer directly. Overall, their customer service was also awful. read more

I have Choice Home Warranty (CHW). I had a plumbing issue. CHW sent out My Georgia Plumber (the merchant) on July 7, 2022. In order for the merchant to come out, CHW requires to pay the $65 service fee to the merchant but not until they arrive at my house. Although Choice Home Warranty required that I not pay the merchant until they came to my house, My Georgia Plumber required that I pay them before they come on their website where they can store my credit card information. Now I see why the merchant did this... so they can steal my card information and take more money. The merchant required that I pay them $65 on July 5, however, they did not come to my home until July 8 and completed the repair. They said everything was covered by my home warranty insurance when they were in my home and advised I would not have to pay anything additional. They completed the repair. I received a "Thank you for your business" email on August 8, 2002. Then on November 16, 2022, I received an email that my credit card was saved on file and authorized to be used by the merchant. This occurred at 11:41pm. I was sleep at that time and did not make this transaction or authorize the use of my credit card or link it to the My Georgia Plumber website. The merchant then took $189.95 out of my account claiming that my claim was not paid by the home warranty. I emailed them and advised that the payment was not authorized. They claimed I agreed to some terms that allowed them to take more money if the home warranty company did not pay, which I did not. I disputed the charge several times with my credit card company and My Georgia Plumber has created a document forging a signature that is not mine saying I authorize them to use my card if the claim is not paid. The document is clearly forged because it claims I signed the document on July 8, 2022 but it says CHW refused to pay on 11/16/2022. How could 11/16/22 be on a document that was dated 7/8/22? I DID NOT SIGN THIS DOCUMENT NOR HAVE I SEEN IT BEFORE I FILED THE DISPUTE WITH AMEX. They have committed forgery, fraud, and theft. read more

We preferred to pay $275 to another company rather than let these guys back in our house to do the job for free. It was free because it was covered under our home warranty. But after their first incompetent visit we preferred to pay out of pocket in full for another company rather than have My Georgia Plumbing come back into our home. We had to use My Georgia Plumbing because our home warranty required it. They spent an hour in our house trying to diagnose then fix the problem. We just had a clogged shower. That's it. Finally he said he "didn't have the right tool" and would have to return. The office staff told me they would have to get approval from the home warranty company to come back out with a new tool. A full day later and they had not obtained the approval. Also, they told me it would cost an additional $200 because they had to go through the toilet and had to remove the toilet from the floor. There was one problem with that. The shower and the toilet pipes do not connect. Also, the toilets were not clogged. There was a one day delay in getting approval for them to come back because they said the home warranty company was not answering their phone calls. I called the home warranty company and they told me that the plumbers are supposed to enter everything online and the plumbers did not need to call them for anything. My GA Plumbing said they could return in three days with the correct tool. Instead of having them come back for free. We preferred to pay a reputable plumbing company. Plumb Doctor was able to diagnose and take care of the clog in under 20 minutes like real plumbers do. Look for my review of Plumb D Also, when you call this company on the phone the recording says that they used to be known as "Michael's plumbing". You should take a look at the reviews for that company. I had a clogged shower! That's plumbing 101. No amount of excuses by them will change the fact that this company couldn't fix a clogged shower in under an hour, they wanted to get approvals from the home warranty company for additional charges to make the clog sound more complicated than it was, then wanted to charge me an additional $200 to remove the toilet to snake from the toilet except the toilet wasn't clogged! Their plumber's educated guess was that my cast iron pipe was collapsing in on itself. That was wrong. It was just hair. They said they had to come back with "the right tool". All the job needed was a snake. Even after they obtained approval to come back to our house they said it would take 3 days to get back to us. Our experience was so bad with this company we canceled our home warranty contract. We wanted nothing to do with a home warranty company that partnered with companies like this. Whatever you do make sure you do not use " My Georgia Plumber"! Yes, they came out in 24 hours but they spent less then an hour to clean my sump pump but ended up charging me over $360!!!! I could see maybe an hour fee of $95 to $200 tops, but really! Anyway, the next day my basement flooded again. They sent someone out and tried to charge me another phenomenal amount. I refused as they already did nothing to fix the problem yet had the nerve to try and charge me another fee. The Manager never called me back after numerous attempts to communicate with them. It is now 1-15-14 and Michael's Plumbing has gone from $400 to $1000 to install, will not answer the phone or return phone calls and hung up on me. I offered to pick up the water heater and get it up the stairs and directly where it needs to be installed and inquired how much it would be then. Lowe's can't even get ahold of them. Man what an experience. I had a burst water pipe on the side of the house leading to the outside water faucet. Would you believe that cost me 900 dollars, 3 separate visits, and 3 weeks to get a pipe replaced that's no more than around 15 feet of extremely accessible pipework? First, it's the service fee request. They tell you it's $150 but you would only pay $100 if you accept their service... what they don't tell you is they have no intention of completing the job on the same day. The guy replaced a small 1 ft pipe patch and then told me he doesn't have any more piping so he would have to come another day to finish the job, on top of that we would have to charge you another service request.... but if you do our membership you won't have to pay another service request. Oh the membership service is $150 dollars, so that cancels any discount you would get in the first place. Sorry but you drive a van around and you only have 1ft of piping in there and you are going to charge me $150 for that patch only to tell me you have more leaks. In fact he told me he thinks there's probably more leaks along the pipe but didn't cut anymore drywall to check, just replaced the first hole he saw, charged me and told me he will have to come back?? HUH?? Next guy comes out a week later, I call in first thing in the morning and they tell me I am the first job on the list. He is just getting his van ready. Guy comes out, replaces 7ish ft of pipe and then tells me he doesn't have anymore pipework... I'm the first job on the list and he went to work with just one 10ft pipe? The 2nd guy discovers even more leaks because the first guy who came out didn't turn the water valve back on after he capped the pipe on his first visit to that side of the house. Which resulted in finding even more leaks. the 2nd guy did tell me he could go buy more pipework and come back but i didn't have the time to wait for that and i didn't want to deal with a 3rd plumber so i requested the same guy come back, which meant another week. The other issue was choice of piping. They used PEX but i really wanted copper but i was made to believe copper was a lot more expensive... Well now when I look online I see type M copper pipe for around 25 dollars for 10ft.... I've paid 900 dollars are you telling me that wouldn't cover the cost of a 50 dollar copper pipe or is the real reason plumbers find it much easier to just install PEX... There was also the issue of the first pulbumer who came out adding a faucet and valve replacement without even telling me. I thought initially it was the price to just replace the pipe. I did not know he added those other items to the list. He had recommended them but I never said I want them replaced. Only after i saw the bill i had to make multiple calls to the manager to get this fixed. The icing on the cake is that I got zero discount, they didn't even discount the first initial patch they did which was completely pointless. So do I recommend my Georgia plumber? The plumbers were good people, but this whole ordeal was a complete mess. read more

I've had work done with this company multiple times. Installed garbage disposal which sprung a leak after a couple years. Took two service calls to resolve but they didn't charge me for the second one which was nice. Recently had them install new shower fixtures ( just a head and handle. That's it) Cost over $500 which was way higher than even Roto rooter which tends to be the highest. They didn't match the price either. Paid $98 just to have them come out and verify the fixtures would work, then paid half down for additional $300 to install later ( different technician) when tile was done. Second plumber said he had to add an extra $150+ for a part that the first plumber missed. They did a good job but I definitely paid thru the nose. Can't believe roto rooter was cheaper not to mention much faster in scheduling. Would have went with someone different if I knew the total cost but they did not honor their quote. Bait and switch. I ordered a dishwasher from Lowe's in Alpharetta, and My Georgia Plumber was assigned as the installer. My installation window was from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. At 3:30 p.m., they informed me that they could not install the dishwasher today, for reasons that made absolutely no sense. Somehow, they discovered, AT ABOUT 3:15 P.M., that Lowe's had sold my dishwasher to someone else. (Why did they find this out 2+ hours after the end of my installation window?) I took the entire day off work to accommodate them. I am on the phone right now trying to get another installer scheduled -- one who is competent and can read a clock. read more

This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had with an installer. First, the attitude and professionalism of the installer was horrible. It was clear that something was wrong. They did arrive on time. Here are the things that they did: When they took the old vanity out they tore wallpaper. They installed the new vanity knowing that the faucet handles did not line up correctly with the faucets on both sides!. They installed the new vanity knowing there were 4 inch holes scored and showing, (vanity has to be replaced since the score holes were showing). The measurements for the cord hole were off by 2 inches, (Micheal's did the original measurement) They installed a faucet that did not work properly with a dribble of water and left it for us to discover later. They will not come back to correct, even at the request of Lowe's. Lowe's is ordering a new vanity and hiring a new installer. The end result, crappy work with a horrible attitude and no warranty to back it up. Lowe's should fire this company! read more

These people are the absolute worst! Literally, call any plumber but these guys. The owners ripped us off for $700 on a job that was quoted at $330 the week before Christmas when we first moved into our home. We got their contact from Lowes and I filed a formal complaint with their corporate office but they were unable to do anything because we paid them directly. The plumber charged us $300 for a $10 item at Home Depot. When I contacted the gal that runs the office, Katrina (who is literally a junkyard bulldog and has the personality of sandpaper) explained that their plumbers do not have a price list for supples off their truck, it is up to the professional to set the price. In other words, the plummer is going to size you up and mark it up if he thinks you have money. I should have spent the time to file a complaint with the Attorney general office. After stumbling across all these bad reviews it seems they are still ripping people off. Companies like this make me sick! read more

We are now waiting for this business to call us back after we called 3 times today to get a time for installation...so far we have not received their call even though I called Lowes to get ahold of them. Lowes called them last night and then they called me back to say Michaels would call me shortly to set up an appointment...guess what...they didn't call back last night. Anyway, the tech arrived this morning at 10 am ( Gordan ) did a great job and told me a couple of things that I should keep an eye on under the sink. It seems our builder used the cheapest crap plumbing ever and that the lines were of such a low grade that they would leak with age ( which one was...very small drip) and at least he was proactive in letting me know. I will raise the rating from 1 to 3 because the tech was very good but this business is lazy in getting back to you and if you want service then you have to demand in and get Lowes involved. One reviewer said they were there 5 mins so they expected a lower fee for service and that isn't how things work. Rookies take a long time and charge you for allowing them to waste your time learning. Buyer beware, my warranty company assigned these crooks for checking out my hot water heater, initially they charged me $65.00 for determining that my hot water heater needed to be replaced, wanted to charge me $1202+ along with the $465.00 that the warranty company would allow to replace the water heater-they offered me 2 options, they would either send me the check or they would send it to these crooks and I would be responsible for the $1202+ for replacing the water heater-I called them and told them to send me the check- they emailed me and said that My Georgia plumbers were charging me another $138.00 for what I don't know-so, instead of me getting a check for $465.00 I'm getting a check for $297.00- my warranty is with EFG Home services- another sleazy bunch-will be cancelling as soon as I get the check- screw me once, shame on you, screw me twice shame on me-totally disgusted with both of these "companies" replaced the water heater (to a 50 gallon) FOR LESS THAN $700.00 read more

AHS sent out My Georgia Plumbers. Charged us $250 to come after hours for a back up. Diagnosed the issue as a root issue outside the house. Ended up getting a hotel for the night because they said they needed to bring out a camera. Got a 2nd opinion and the clog was inside the house and Royal Flush Plumbing was able to unclog immediately. I would not recommend My Georgia Plumbers and have notified AHS to remove from preferred vendors. read more

I had a pipe leak inside a wall and they came out on a Saturday. I could not take off work so that was a help in itself. They texted me when my technician Justin was on his way and included a picture of him. When Justin got here, he kept me thoroughly informed every step of the way and when he found the leak he quickly and efficiently fixed it without any problems. I have used Michael's Plumbing Service twice in the last two years and have been very satisfied with their service and prices. They ran a gas line from the basement into the kitchen so we could switch from an electric stove to gas. It was done in less than a day and has worked great. Recently, we had a problem with one of the toilets. I initially called one of the big plumbing contractors and was not impressed with their recommendations. They suggested either pulling the toilet off or doing a smoke test to see where the odor was coming from. The price of either of these services was over $350 which I declined. Michael came out the next week, pulled the toilet and replaced the wax seal and the charge was less than the other plumbing company was going to charge me. If you are looking for an honest, knowledgeable and reasonably priced plumber, I highly recommend this company. read more
