Ok. So I hate that I have to give this place a three...but here's why... When u walk into the place it smells like feet. I'm not expecting a kids gym to smell like roses, but I'm a little discouraged when it smells gross. It compromises the integrity of the equipment there as I'm wondering what's really clean. Now, the staff are so amazing with kids! Like hands on fun. And the activities are just what my lil man needs. The songs are so cute (and not too cheesy) and I think all the activities they do help learning. But but but....I don't think I can bring my lil guy here (even though I like it better than Gymboree) because the smell and some of the equipment is really run down. Any chance of fixing this? I def become a member then. read more

Our daughter has been going to My Gym since she was 6 months old (she's two now). Every class is filled with a ton of stimulating activities catered to each age group. Although the class is structured, there is plenty of time for free play. I am always surprised at how many different variations of each class there are; we rarely play the same games, sing the same songs, or hear the same stories. Also, I am amazed at how awesome the teachers are! they are always so enthusiastic and dedicated to making every class fun and enjoyable. read more

4.5 Stars My son and I tried a trial class here. He really enjoyed it. He had a blast jumping into the ball pit the whole time. He had some trouble with the structured time. He just wanted to play and play. I think they have great equipment, better than Gymboree. There is a lot to do. The instructors were enthusiastic and professional. The other moms and nannies seemed very friendly. The class was great, but ultimately we signed up with Gymboree. I prefer the more intimate setting there. Since they have less equipment, my son was able to do the structure time without problems. I also felt that the class we tried at My Gym was too young for him (he is near the top of the age group), and that they put too much emphasis on structured time. They were strict about it. My attitude is he is 1! Gymboree is much more relaxed about forcing kids to sit in a circle. My Gym MB still deserves 4.5 stars because it seems like a fantastic program for kids. If you like more of a crowd and more structure time, this is the class for you. Bonus: They had sample pouches that my son devoured after class. Easy parking in the back. Update: After visiting Gymboree again, I actually think the equipment is better suited for my son's age (21 months). He can climb everything himself and loves it. read more

We brought our daughter to a birthday party here last weekend and it was perfect. There were kids of all ages playing and using the equipment and the instructors really made sure the birthday boys felt special and had fun!! The best was the "zip line".. definitely. My daughter can barely say zip line and she's been asking about it all week now! Super cool. Definitely recommend this place for parties. read more

I'll try to keep this semi-short and sweet. I came to look into renting the place for a fundraising party. It was last minute and our original location fell through. I came in with my 3 year old and waited to speak with the manager. There was a class we watched in the meantime, and it was so engaging I had to hold my daughter's hand to keep her from crashing. The next time we came in was for our party. Two workers (Mark and Ashley rocked, BTW) helped us throughout - they were naturals with the kids and they were very kind to the adults as well. We were never hurried, we had a great time, and they complemented our holiday crafts with energetic activities, perfectly timed for an exciting evening. Thank you, My Gym - we've received much praise for hosting our party at your facility. I encourage any parent to look into taking a class or having a party here. Based on our experience, your time and money will be more than well spent. FYI, this is my first 5 star rating on Yelp - I didn't think it was possible, but here we are...and there's nothing to lose - they offer a free intro class for you to judge for yourself. I can't say enough good things about this class. One of the biggest things that I love about it is the staff. They are so friendly and they treat you with such kindness. I really do feel like they go above and beyond. Especially Darius is just wonderful with making everyone feel comfortable, showing the kids a great time and of building a positive relationship. You have to watch him teach a class to know what I am talking about. He just has that positive aura about him where are you would want to request him to be a part of the class all the time. The other staff are great to like Alex, and Ayeda. I don't remember everyone's name. But I'm really glad I signed him up for this class at this location. Can you read reviews for other Mommy and Me classes that do very similar things and I have read that people complained about the teachers oh, and how they treat people their personalities. Oh, how I love My Gym. My son has been enrolled in classes here for over a year, and he loves, loves, LOVES My Gym. The classes always start the same way and have the same order of activities, satisfying the toddler's need for order and routine, but the staff switch up the songs, games, and skill building exercises. The gym equipment is also arranged a different way every week so the kids can try out different things. The staff is simply amazing. My son adores each and every teacher he's had and calls them by name, running over for hugs and high-fives. They are always cheerful, supportive, and friendly, rolling and crawling around on the floor to interact with the kids. They are so dedicated and hard-working. We also had my son's second birthday party here. While it's pricey, it's worth it -- you get a party for 20 kids (they don't charge for adults), and they set up and clean up EVERYTHING, as well as running a class for the kids and making a big deal over the birthday boy/girl. It was totally worth it. The ONLY downside is the free play -- you get admission to a free play along with your weekly class, but the free play can get very chaotic as all age groups play at once. Parents aren't always as observant as they should be, so my toddler was often pushed around, run over, or intimidated by wild older kids, and the staff can't control everything (nor can they reprimand kids whose parents don't seem to care that their kids are running wild). Just something to keep in mind if you have a smaller child. read more

I've been here for a couple of my nephews' birthday parties. The staff here does a great job entertaining the kids and allows the adults to interact with the kids on the gym floor as well. My nephew had a blast playing a skunk game. He wore a cute little skunk hat and got to run around spraying his friends with a squirt bottle. They do a good job for the most part keeping the place as hygienic as possible. The kids are the best gauge as to how good this place is, and they all seem to have a great time, so there you have it! read more

Warning, employees will ask for and act entitled to a tip. We held a birthday party here and it was well run, but upon getting the bill we saw a request for a non required tip. We sucked it up and tipped $50, and when the employees saw the bill they audibly complained to one another and acted extremely cold after that point. I guess the tip was too low. Soured what had been a great experience. Employers please don't hide the true cost of services with this strategy. read more

Awesome place. Energetic, creative, animated classes that incorporate music, physical activities and listening with free play. They gently encourage shy kids and focus high energy kids. Great self-esteem/confidence builder. Terrific for parties, too. We hosted a party for 2-7 year olds - boys and girls. Couldn't be easier. Attentive staff set everything up and cleaned up. Kids were thoroughly amused. Activities incorporated our theme and leaders adjusted according to interests of the kids. 2 hours of happy squeals and laughs. What more could you want? read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. My son specifically lights up when he sees Darius and decided he wanted his birthday here entirely based on him. (That experience was amazing) but this review is focused on more recent events. It's been 8+weeks since we have been stuck at home and in that time we have tried MANY different Zoom Calls, Hangouts, Virtual events, Activities etc, None to date would I have considered actually successful in entertaining my 4 year old..... UNTIL TODAY when we joined our first Virtual My GYM birthday party hosted by Darius. My Child actually watched the Zoom meeting for 45 minutes straight participating the ENTIRE time (He barely looked at the screen for most others we have done). I would even consider booking another virtual party here soon and my son's birthday isn't for 6 months. read more

Dynamic staff, well-organized sessions, clean and varied equipment. My son started going there when he was about 18 months. He is visibly excited when we drive to the door. He plays very happily inside. He comes home with skills that he practices there for the first time, like jumping or doing handstands. Ugh....WHY is it that every kids place I go to these days has disco/pop music blaring in the background! Why not play children's music so it doesn't feel like a bar. We tried a free trial class here...my son had a great time during free play...fun equipment and everything seemed clean. Then circle time which left me thinking what ever happened to Romper room and creating a calm environment for kids to learn? This circle time was frenetic and loud, again kind of like a bar. Instructors reminded me of lido deck cruise directors trying to get everyone to participate and buy more drinks. Thank goodness it didn't last long...stations were fun and interesting...but then came another frenetic game, loud music and more circle time. I got tired of all the over stimulation and my son wanted no part of it. Also, Moms were not supervising their kids...I had to discipline one myself as he hit other kids in the face with balls and his mother nowhere to be found. Too many kids in one class. We LOVE My Gym!!!! The teachers are great. They have so much energy and love for everyone there. They are so good with the kids. They know all their students and family members. They make everyone feel special. The kids and their parents are always entertained here. My family has been coming here since 2006! And every time we leave with a smile. My son is 9 and loves it here (they make an inactive child have fun and be active). My 5 year would come here everyday if she could. It's great for every age. Even with the drop off class, parents stay and watch because it's so much fun!! We have had and gone to birthday parties here, it is the best birthday location EVER!!! The staff makes it so easy and fun. The kids and the adults have a blast!! It is so clean. It is the cleanest indoor play area I have every seen. Our experience at MyGym Manhattan Beach has been nothing but perfect. Our daughter loves it there and the teachers are the best. I think that the teachers make or break a class and the teachers at this location are always happy, energetic and amazing with kids. We especially love Robbie but all of the others are great too. We didn't realize how much we value My Gym of Manhattan Beach until we have moved. This facility is super clean and has a lot of good natural lighting. Frantic, I quickly reached out to My Gym and was able to book his party a week after the original date. I can say with upmost certainty I should have booked it here in the first place! My girls love My Gym Manhattan Beach! All of the instructors are incredibly fun and have boundless energy-- I don't know how they do it! The classes and activities are well suited to each age group, with plenty of free play for the little ones. My youngest daughter has been coming here for probably around a year and a half. At first she wasn't doing well with cooperating, and I was discouraged and considering taking her out. I decided to give it more of a chance because the instructors were working so hard to be sure she was comfortable, and confident, and would improve with cooperating with them. I am so glad we stayed because now, it's like a second home to us. All the instructors know my children by name, they warmly welcome them each time we walk in, and speak with them on a personal level. The gym is always clean, yet doesn't reek of nasty cleaning supplies like some other local gyms we have attended. My girls love camp and parents night out, and as a mom who never leaves her kids with anyone other than family, I actually feel like I can leave my kids in good hands here. We look forward to many more years here :) You can tell that the teachers go through some great training, and each time there is a new teacher, you can witness that they are being evaluated and trained with hands on training which is great. There isn't a lot of turn over in staff either which tells you something and that's really great for the kids that learn to trust them and get attached to them. They're like a little family there. I don't give 5 starts out so easily but My Gym absolutely deserves it. I read some of the 1 & 2 star reviews, just because I was curious of the reasons people took the time to give such a crappy review. We just began this month and it's magical EVERYTIME we go! It has the Disney Magicalness to it. 2 of the teachers, Holly & Matt specifically, give it the whole magical Disney feel. They are both so cheerful and not in an annoying way. Someone mentioned that this place smelled like feet. I was surprised to read that because, when I walk it I feel the exact opposite! It feels super clean. I understand some people don't believe in the structure at this age, and I think it depends on each kid & parent. I also don't feel like circle time is overly structured and personally I think some structure is good for toddlers. I feel like it is loose with some structure, and it's a good balance. If you want your kid to just run around at free will, go to a park. :) MY GYM ROCKS! read more

We LOVE My Gym! The staff is fantastic. They are all so attentive, engaging and never have an "off" day. My daughter can be slow to warm up and they always extended themselves to her in classes. The equipment is clean and the way that the classes alternate between structured and unstructured play is perfect for development. We love my gym!!! I went to My Gym when I was little (Santa Monica location) and every time I take my son it brings back so many memories. He has the best time and the teachers are so sweet and fun. I threw my daughter's 4th birthday party here this past weekend, there were about 22 kids. It was, by all accounts, one of the most amazingly fun birthday parties EVER. A lot of this is due to the unbelievably energetic and kind and fun staff who keep the kids going from one fun activity to the next. For my daughter's party we had Darius who was flat out amazing and Anna who was his helper and was totally great. There was plenty of room for the parents to sit or stand and hang out and watch our 4 year old kiddos have like the best time ever. They cater the games to the age of the kids and they certainly did the perfect activities for 4 year olds! They got to run, play an elaborate game of hide and seek, jump on the trampoline, go on all kinds of equipment, be silly, do a parachute and a zip line, go through a maze, chase bubbles, play with all kinds of balls, swing - and I could go on! It far exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it. read more
