I honestly almost gave this place a 5 star review until I went up to pay my bill at the end and…read morethis place showed they're just another stereotypical terrible Vietnamese-style customer service place. Ambiance is spectacular - interior is absolutely beautiful and they have amazing attention to details. Restrooms were very clean and nice too. Location is perfect - on Brookhurst in a great Vietnamese plaza off McFadden with tons of other great businesses around as well. Came here on Sunday of Labor Day weekend for dinner with a friend. We conveniently arrived around 430pm, and they surprisingly have Happy Hour on weekends as well. We ordered the Deep-fried salmon bellies, Oxtail tacos, Garlic noodles, Oysters, and later Whole Mussels Skillet all from their Happy Hour menu. We were pretty excited since they looked like really good deals. Salmon bellies, oxtail tacos, and Whole Mussels Skillet were all good. Garlic noodles - bland, needs more seasoning and greens with them such as cilantro and green onions, more cheese - something. Service - a young boy and girl, Mason and another girl helping us were very sweet. And to what made you guys lose 3 stars - "Oyster (Oyster minimum order is 1 dozen) $2" My friend and I thought this was some Happy Hour only special promo, so cool. I asked and they're just raw oysters - honestly they weren't that good, should've been cooked and seasoned in some way. Basically they didn't have to try much for these, besides ensuring they're clean and safe for consumption, but I thought it was a good deal so worth a shot trying. Then I got the bill and was like WTF? And the worse part was the lady's attitude about it, saying how it's common sense (ie you're stupid for not understanding). The obvious right way to write that is "Platter of a Dozen Oysters $24 and $2 for each additional oyster", not "Oyster (minimum a dozen) $2" - WTF, and she acted like I'm the first to call her out on that. Said she can't do anything, it's obvious, but sure she can tell someone to make a note to update the menu and seemed to roll her eyes. Mason, the young server was nice and understanding, but I couldn't stand the basic Vietnamese woman with HEAVY makeup working at the front. My friend I had dinner with found her extremely rude too. Would I come back? Not likely anymore. Would I recommend them? If you're willing to pay for nice ambiance, decent food, but GOD-AWFUL SERVICE, then be my guest. As a Vietnamese person myself, I'm ashamed of people like these for perpetuating the cheapskate Vietnamese stereotype.

I went with a friend on Friday and was excited to go with my bf on Sunday! If you haven't tried lotus salad, I would highly recommend it! Such an astounding crunch from the lotus, with satiable citrus flavors as the base. Shrimp and beef were cooked to perfection. We also tried razor clams which were flavorful and had a really easy chew to it. If I can't chew it under 1-2 minutes, I'm not going to continue. lol I can basically have their baked catfish all week. The dish is so comforting and light. Definitely a no-guilt type of meal. The fish has a nice crisp on the outside and so tender on the inside. I like to load my spring roll up with a lot of the fish. :) I would say the medium sized fish can feed up to 3-4 people. My friends and I were only able to make a dent on a quarter of the fish and had to bring the rest home. If you haven't tried the plum soda, definitely recommend. So good!

My friends was craving for some house specials lobster and I was craving for honey walnut shrimp. We came around 5pm on a sunday before the dinner rush. A party of 3 we ordered 5 dishes the main 2 dish we came for 1. House specials lobster with noodles 5/5 The house special sauce for the lobster is so good. , the lobster was meaty, noodles smothered in that house special sauce, delicious. 2. Honey Walnut Shrimp 6/5. Ive been craving for this dish for the longest time and it didn't disappoint. The walnut shrimp was fried golden brown delicious, plump shrimp, the sauce was perfect and not overly drenched. The candied walnut nice crunch and sweetness. Definitely hit the spot and satisfied my craving.

Not bad at all. $15.95 it's cooked the same everywhere so if I can get it for a deal, I'm def down! Got the clams also. This dish was plentiful for a lunch special. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Nothing bad at all. Whole fried fish. Man this dish was tiny!!! The fish was tiny!!! It was tasty due to the sauce, but the fish itself was TINY!!! lol 2/5 stars. Everyone orders this but it's just too small for family style meal. House special fish filet. Yeah this was good but I tasted a lot more batter than the actual fish itself. I think seafood cove 2 cooks this better. 2/5 stars for this also Crap asparagus soup. 2/5 stars Naaaah not worth it. Don't order this lol. Save urself the money. Bland and boring. The service was great. They gave us plastic utensils for the kids. And also cups for the kids (styrofoam cups since the kids are messy and tend to drop things) Overall, it's a bit dirty. Parking sucks hardcore. Food is mediocre. But service is good. When you pay, you get oranges as dessert at the end. Seafood cove 2 is def better and plentiful parking compared to this place.

We arrived right when they opened, and the vegetables were vibrant, crisp, and fully stocked. My favorite soup base was the tom yum--it was packed with flavor and had just the right amount of heat and tanginess. I could've happily enjoyed that broth on its own. I also loved that the hot bar wasn't just an afterthought. They had unlimited marinated crab, stir-fried egg noodles, and several other prepared dishes that were actually worth going back for. The grill selection was just as good. The skewers and shrimp were my favorites, and adding a little of the provided butter while grilling made everything taste even better. The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating, making it a great option for bigger groups or celebrations. The staff kept an eye on our table, cleared plates quickly, and were always friendly whenever we needed something. Between the fresh ingredients, flavorful broths, and great service, this is definitely a place I'll be returning to.

Or maybe they like the cuisine, but for health reasons they've been told to avoid eating it. I know for me I just haven't come around to a lot of Asian cuisines that are focused on high vegetable and low protein content. But to this day Toby and I have never shared a seafood boil together. She has a germaphobe reaction to eating food with her hands and there's no easy way to knife-and-fork stuff like shrimp, crawfish, crab, or lobster. She's offered to get something else like fish n' chips or a plain steak or something, while I get myself a boil. However, one of the joys of boils is digging into a mound of Cajun-flavored seafood together as a group effort. A wondrous temple to the art like Roux Seafood Kitchen would be wasted on her. I couldn't get enough of their shrimp and crawfish. They were both plump, flavorful, and disassembled easy in my hands. At a lb. each, I was more than stuffed at meal's end. I think the only thing that could've made it better is if I had ordered a lobster tail in there. That would've been my ideal order. The service was great here for my party. The drinks were refilled quickly, the food was brought out in an efficient manner, and even the order taking was controlled in what kind of have been haphazard conditions. I liked the ambiance too. The dining room was a spacious and accommodating. The music was low. And the crowds were busy but not super full, which is where I like it. Nobody was on top of each other at neighboring tables and the noise level wasn't drowning. All in all, I think this is the perfect example of a seafood boil joint. The only thing that could've made it better is if my oldest eating buddy (and ex) could've miraculously gotten over her condition and joined me. That's the dream.
