Bun rieu oc
Hans S.

We came in for lunch Friday. The place was nice, clean, quiet with 12 tables but there were no guests. We were the only couple there for 2 hours. There were no pick up orders either. This place is dead. We ordered 2 bun rieu oc cua dong $16, which is highly rated here. The bowl was good sized, came with lots of proteins, chunks of crab cake, fish cake, blood cubes, also lots of greens and herbs, shredded papaya bud and morning glory, very authentic. The soup was tasty but very fishy due to the frozen mud crab cake, difficult to eat. I bought this item from market and had the same fishy odor problem. The crabs were not processed and frozen fresh due to lack of refrigeration equipment. They get spoiled in the process. Even 5-star resorts in Vietnam have problems with spoiled and fishy smelling seafood due to spoilage. In HCMC Bun Rieu Ganh and Banh Canh Cua Ca Mau near Ben Thanh market got 1 Michelin star each but their soups also smells and tastes way too fishy due to spolied crabs, not good to eat. They also have very few clients. In Little Saigon CA, Bun Ba Ba on Westminster Ave served the same fishy bun rieu cua dong with fishy-smelling mud crab cake, not popular. The place closed down after a couple years. I have not tried other dishes at Han's Kitchen, but their complete lack of clients for lunch on Friday is proof of problems. The other well-known bun rieu place, Van Rest on Brookhurst, serves nice clean, tasty, creamy, good-smelling bun rieu crab soup, very popular, packed with hundreds clients day and night. I want Han's Kitchen to succeed. They should modify their recipes and menu. Good luck.

Bun Rieu with OC

Omg this is absolutely my favorite bun rieu spot. The broth is light and crabby, plus I love everything that they add in it. And the snails are the perfect size and is fresh. I've been to Vietnam and eaten their bun rieu but this place might be better. This is probably my 5th time here. I believe the owner is a husband and wife and they are super sweet and welcoming. I just wished more people knew about this hidden gem. I got the run rieu special, which has everything.

Bún riêu cua đồng

We have been going to since opening and they have the best Bún Riêu Cua Đồng in town. The restaurant is squeaky clean and the service is excellent.

Came here on a Sunday at around 2:15 pm with my mom. It was pretty empty. This place is an eatery inside the Vietnamese grocery store. I was craving bun rieu and she recommended this place. I've seriously never eaten bun rieu at a restaurant. I've only had it at home settings made by my mom or her friends. I thought the bun rieu tasted good and it came out hot. I need my soup broths hot! Also, they were generous with the tofu and meats. However, my bowl did not have any blood cubes but my mom got like 3 or 4 so she shared with me. I would recommend this place. I'd probably come back with my sister so she can try it. I support small businesses.

First time trying Bun Rieu and I liked it. Store was very clean and the staffs are very kind and attentive. Price is very reasonable. I will come back to try Bun Bo Hue.

Bún riêu cua đồng ngon vừa miệng ,mình thích vị ở đây giống việt nam! Có kèm rau muống bào nữa, xuất sắc luôn..

new location

SOFT OPENING IN NEW LOCATION! (much cooooooolleerrrrr than the old one) This Vietnamese restaurant deserves all the hype and more! I've tried their bún riêu, bún bò, cơm gà, and phở, and every dish is delicious--but their bún riêu is truly on another level. The broth is so rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced that I'm convinced no other place can beat it. It's easily their signature dish, and it's worth coming back for again and again. Besides the amazing food, they have body mist in the restroom and they even give out free cute candies. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the atmosphere is cozy. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese comfort food with standout flavors and extra charm, this spot is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Bun rieu noodle soup. (#8)

Authentic bun rieu soup, comes with pieces of congealed pork blood cubes, fried tofu cubes, crab/egg/mince pork balls and noodles. The herb condiments and bran sprouts were fresh and generous. The place is clean and service is satisfactory. $15.99 a bowl.

$13 bun rieu dong cua. Top pieces cubes at 12 o'clock are the crab, around the 6 o'clock is the meat pieces. Really outstanding!

I feel like I have raved to multiple friends about Nep and how unique and delicious it is. Nep is located across from Mile Square Regional Park and has ample parking. Every time I have been there, it has always been busy, even with its generous indoor and outdoor seating. I also appreciate how on top of it the servers always are and how they make sure you are well taken care of. Nep is known for their Banh Mi Chao, which is kind of like Bo Ne but with an "everything but the kitchen sink" vibe. I definitely recommend first-time visitors try this dish since it is really what makes them stand out. The tenderness of the beef mixes so well with the sauce, tomatoes, and pâté, while the banh mi acts as the perfect dipping vessel that ties everything together. Besides the Banh Mi Chao, there are so many other dishes that are equally mouthwatering, such as their Crab Toast (with a generous amount of crab and a creamy mouthfeel) and their new steamed egg dish with pork floss (a salty flavor balanced with custardy egg). In my opinion, no matter what dish you decide to get, you can guarantee it will be well-seasoned. Really excited to continue being a repeat customer and trying everything under their roof.

I have come to Ini a couple of times whenever I stop by the Orange County area, and my graduation dinner was no exception. What makes them so unique is their perfect balance between Asian flavors and Italian classics. Everything I have tasted here has been delicious and has exceeded my expectations. Something I appreciate, besides the aesthetic interior, is their unique selection of dishes ranging from innovative pizzas, creamy and original pastas, and bright, flavorful appetizers. Here are a couple of items that I want to shout out: First, the truffle honey bread. I really appreciated the crispiness of the cheese on top and the bounciness of the fluffy bread paired with the sweetness of the honey. It creates a very balanced bite that keeps you wanting more. The raw salmon appetizer was a huge hit with our table. The citrus paired very well with the salmon itself, and even though this is a common appetizer at many fusion restaurants, they really do it right. The beef carpaccio was a great fusion dish and a wonderful nod to the Asian flavors that inspired them. This is a dish I have ordered multiple times, and it always hits the spot. Out of all the pizzas, I enjoyed the mala lamb the most. It actually was not too spicy, with a nice peppery flavor. Sometimes lamb can be a bit overpowering; however, when topped with the mala honey, everything balanced out perfectly. I also want to note that I have never seen this flavor combination anywhere else, and I think it is definitely something you need to try if you are here. The short rib gnocchi was another favorite of mine. The gnocchi was fluffy and cloud-like and paired really well with the umami-rich, savory flavor of the short rib. The meat itself was very tender and pulled apart easily, making every bite delicious. There are other dishes I could mention, but I do want to shout out the scallop risotto. This one definitely surprised me, as I am not usually a big risotto eater. I appreciated the creaminess of the rice mixed with the scallop, and even though it was a cream-based dish, it did not feel heavy at all. The service was very friendly, and everything came out in a timely manner, which I especially appreciated considering we had a big group. Overall, I will always try to find a reason to come back here, as this place really does take the cake for me when it comes to Kei concept restaurants.
