just now Normally I have a really good experience here, however when i had to go in this week, one of the service writers (a young guy) consistently wasn't wearing his mask indoors, he'd see someone looking then put it on. Don't get me wrong the service here is awesome But I find it so frustrating how they don't inform their customers about the hours for the shuttle. I came to get my oil change and tires changed so they said it would be about two hours and my appointment was at 2PM and had another appointment at 3 at natividad and finally got the call saying my car was ready 3 and a half hours later which is now 530 and the shuttle department just had went home and there receptionist said that can't really do anything about it because that's what her " manager " said so we had to take PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION to get to the dealer ship!! Worst Service Department I have been to in the 25+ years that I have been driving! That's saying alot. I have taken my vehicle to this Dealership several times for warranty and maintenance work however I believe that yesterday was the last time they will see me or money. I had an engine malfunction light come on and I self diagnosed the code that was being thrown. When I called the Dealership I was told that a TSB had already been issued and the problem I was having was a known issue on my year and model Optima. The tech advised me that they could not schedule me for an appoinent for 8 more days because "they had a lot of recall issues at this time of the year". This all took place less than 6000 miles after the warranty period elapsed. When I finally got the car in I was told it would cost $140 to fix the problem. Now here is where my problem with this service department comes in to play: 1) If this is a known issue that is happening repeatedly on this year and model car and a TSB had been issued then why do I need to pay for the repair? 2) Why was it not adjusted on one of my prior visits to the Dealership while the car was still under warranty? 3) I have never heard of a Dealership that didn't charge by labor hour and parts used in the repair! Now I have!! According to the service Rep. All they needed to do to fix the vehicle was reset some parameters on the Turbocharger and "open the wastegate". This particular fix takes minutes to perform. When I asked why I was charged a flat rate instead of being charged shop hours I was not given a reasonable answer. So my take is that this Dealership waits for vehicles to go out of warranty before fixing Known Problems and charges whatever they want to charge. I hate to cast aspersions but hey, it is what it is! When I asked to speak to the Service Manager "Gavino Villa" I was told he was unavailable and was given his business card. I made two attempts to contact him by phone and left a voicemail. I received a call back the next morning while I was sleeping and was unable to speak with him, he did leave a message. There was still no explanation of how the pricing was calculated just a message stating the car was out of warranty which I obviously already knew! Looks like I'll be driving 50 + miles to the next closest KIA dealership to have my car worked on in the future. Buyer beware at this Delaership! Of course the sales people will offer you a remarkable experience but when it comes to having the vehicle serviced.......... you've been warned! read more

My family and I have trusted Julian for over 10 years and have purchased numerous cars, and sent many referrals, because of him. Tire trouble when I was far from home. Tow truck dropped off my vehicle after service department closed, but sales staff helped me to locate a local motel. (Thanks, John, for the ride over!) Next morning, Ramiro in Service was understanding about me wanting to get back on the road. Although they didn't have exactly what I needed in stock, because I did not want any more delay, they put on a used tire that did the job. And didn't overcharge for it, either. My engine blew on my Kia Soul which I'm told has now been an ongoing issue and this seems to be happening with these vehicles. I took my kia to the Salinas service department and was told it would be a couple of weeks possibly three at most. Turns out it took them over a month to fix my vehicle. Each time I called to find out what the status was I was given the run around, the person in charge of my case was never available then I was told oh the parts came in, it'll be another week at most! Super frustrating especially when yet again I go to kia only to be told nope it's still not done, maybe by the end of the week. The staff is rude, unhelpful, and busy talking, joking and stuffing their faces with cake and buying flowers from the flower guy while customers wait to be helped!! I have never had to deal with such an unprofessional group of people. Fast forward to picking up my vehicle, I'm charged for the car rental fee by kia who by the way took forever to fix my car and why? Because they are understaffed and super busy which is what I was told! I'm sorry that is not my fault you cannot properly staff your business. Our Murano was near death rattles so it was time to upgrade. We saw the car we wanted on Craigslist and it was represented by 'My Nissan Kia'. Our salesperson Rod was very knowledgeable about the product and his enthusiasm for the job made the buying experience less stressful overall. After the negotiation we moved to the finance guy Emilio and since it was a cash deal it was a simple matter of signing a few papers. The dealership added a 90 day warranty gratis even though they didn't have to. Since there was only one key I had to return this morning to have a new one synchronized to the car. The service personnel were all polite but the standout was 'Leo'. She remembered my name and didn't waste too much time waiting for someone else to move cars and make things happen. The establishment seems to run smoothly. It's clean and the atmosphere is congenial. *Did I get a great deal on my 'new' used car? The final price matched what Kelly's or Edmunds said I should pay. So no smoking deal but I got a car that should serve me well for years to come. read more

Update.....! Yesterday I received my registration from DMV for my new Kia Soul. No big deal, right? Except that this time this Dealership got it right! I have had personalized plates on most of my vehicles for many years, and when I have traded one in on a new vehicle and have asked the Dealership to transfer my plates to my new vehicle on my DMV reg. I bought a new Versa roughly a year ago. I waited some time to write this review, to make it a fair review. Bare with me, this is a decently long review. The car itself is a 5spd 2016 Nissan Versa. I bought it to commute to work. I drive from Monterey to Santa Clara, Alemeda, Contra Costa, and Yolo counties 3-5 times a week. I have put 40K+ miles on the car in a little under a year of purchasing the car. And, it's ran like a champ! I have not had any real problems with the car. When my friend and I first arrived on the lot, we were greeted fairly quickly. (pardon me, but I don't remember the salesmans name) At first the man wasn't overly enuthastic about me or my friend. Witch is reasonable considering we were 21 and 22 year olds and my friend is kind of loud. But, he did let us know all the deals that were going on, and let us test drive the cars we were interested in. He answered all the questions we had to ask. I would say it was a pretty decent experience. One complaint I do have, was during the singing. I doudt the general public is excited to talk money. But, I ask ALOT of questions on things I spend large sum of money on, witch I find is reasonable. As I started asking questions, the rep was visibly annoyed but maintained a professional tone. What stood out to me however was, when the rep showed me the "extras", the individual didn't explain that they ARE extra. I had to ask, and even then he would only tell me how much it would be a month, as apposed to how much more it would affect the end price. To picture, it kind of had this feeling, "We OFFER this, sign here". I understand it's a business tactic, but if someone is asking questions, it is to be sure about their investment. This is not to say he didn't do his job, I did end up getting one or two "extras". One more complaint I have, witch to be fair is very petty. When the salesmen closed the sale, he gave me a voucher for a hat. He had told me to come back (that department had closed by the time everything was done) and when it opened up again I could redeem ANY hat I wanted. I wanted the camo hat, it's cool people wouldn't be able to see my thoughts (I have to make at least one joke if you're willing to read this whole thing). But, the person in charge of the hats told me I couldn't use the voucher for the camo hat, but I could get a "discount". After I buying a new car, I wasn't feeling wealthy enough to spend extra on a hat. Their service department is exceptional. The prices are very competitive and they're pretty quick for the volume they have to accommodate. Not to mention​ they've always offered to wash my car. I brought in my car for a simple oil change and inspection. They told me the car would be ready in 2 hours. I've waited in their lobby for about 6 hours just for an oil change. I had to miss school and was late to work because of this miscalculated incident. Service-5 Speed-5 This review covers both an oil change this visit, and brake pad replacement my last visit. The service department has courteous, professional and friendly staff, especially James and Virginia. Nissan Salinas has been changing my oil since the car purchase from them 8 years ago and there's never been a problem. The brake pads were replaced within the time frame they estimated. I like having a shuttle service that will take you anywhere in Salinas. The only they could improve would be a waiting room with better amenities. But, the car wash is a nice bonus! We bought a new Kia in 2016. It's been a great car, but we had a blow out in one of the tires. I went to get the spare, and there was no spare, jack, or lug wrench, only this repair kit which would not do any good because it was a blow out. We had to have the car towed to a tire shop to get a new tire installed. I found out Kia's do not come with spare tires. We were never told this when we bought the car and would have definitely affected our decision to buy a Kia. How can you sell a vehicle without a spare tire? read more

Not only did I purchase my 2013 Sorento from this dealership, when it was brand new (totally painless process & I love the car), but I recently experienced a pretty catastrophic problem with it. I took it to the dealership, fully expecting either a huge bill, or being told "sorry, your car is done"... but that was not at all my experience. Lionila Mora was my Service Writer, and she was an Angel! Not only did she tell me "we can fix it", but she also made the process as painless as possible. Her communication with me was constant, friendly and reassuring. Her customer service was platinum level. She deserves a raise, an Oscar...a knighthood! Santa Cruz lost its KIA contract - so when my key got stuck in my ignition, I had to have my car towed to Salinas. James received the car on Friday morning - and told me he would expedite the part for me (good). I asked if while the car was in the shop if they could do service and he said "yes," but then HE ASKED ME what kind of oil my car takes. I had to look it up and when I told him, he said they don't have that kind. Note that this is the DEALERSHIP - he never suggested that he would try to get the REQUIRED OIL for my car. Terrible service. Refused to replace a part in my car I already had diagnosed from a different mechanic outside of my Nissan kia without first diagnosing my car at their facility. took one year and one month to get my telluride and did not get the interior color i wanted. They put me off so many times that I ended settling for what I could get. I can live with that. I could not live with $95 for and oil change so I bought and oil filter (263203LTA0) from them for $17. I found oil filters from $5 to $7. The oil filter they sold did not fit my vehicle ( it was about 2 inches longer than the one I took out). I went to MY KIA and told the female manager about wrong part and she did not offer any refund or sympathy. I told her she lost any future business from me. The Kia Telluride is a great vehicle and I was looking into a small Kia for a friend and maybe my wife. There is no chance of that happening with this dealership. I was asked to write a positive review about my experience at My Kia in Salinas, California, by the staff which in and of itself is unethical. If this review were strictly concerning Mike, the gentleman who sold me my car, it would be positive. My review reflects my overall experience. I made an internet inquiry that was responded to several months after I purchased my car. Given the lack of a response, I would have bought my car elsewhere, but My Kia had the best price on a leftover previous year model. Unfortunately, the $3K I saved was given back in the form of being ripped off in finance. Please sell me something I can use and please do not lie to me. When finalizing the deal, I was told by the guy in finance that in order to get the 100K mile waranty, I needed to buy coverage. This is patently false. One of the main reasons I purchased a Kia was to get the warranty. In the end, it is my fault for believing him, but how dare he and how dare My Kia of Salinas allow their employees to operate in such a dishonest fashion. I bought a brand new car, but the first time I went to wash it, I noticed that the black trim around the car, particularly near the windshield, was all scraped up. New cars show up at the showroom with a plastic film to protect the trim. I guess the employee tasked with removing it got impatient and used a straight edge on it. If you buy a car at this dealership, don't waste your time with the internet department, do not get swindled by the finance guy, and inspect your vehicle for cosmetic damage. read more

Nissan Service Department in SALINAS is UNETHICAL! I am appalled at the way I was treated this morning when I spoke to their service manager "Gabino". He was rude and obnoxious when I called to complain about the $800 oil change they charged my mother! I personally called to schedule her oil change and specifically stated she only needed an oil change! They took it upon themselves to make the "recommendations" of services she should get for her car. It's a new car for god sake! I know we've all been there with these car dealers repair service department and how they try to get you to do more than what is needed at the time. The problem was that they preyed on my poor mother's vulnerability and lack of understanding of these repairs. She like most retirees, is on a fixed income. They did not clarify that these "recommendations" could be postponed or broken down into what she really needs now v.s. what she can do at a later time. So I know she signed off on it and there's probably nothing we can do. My frustration with the situation is...whatever happened to ethics? Are they not bound to ethical behavior? I know I am bound to them in my profession and must adhere to them or else I can get sued! I guess car dealers and their service dept. can hide behind the "blame game" and say they had a bilingual rep explain the "recommendations".
