We've enjoyed My Place several times. The food and service has been exceptional. We like supporting local restaurants. We'd purchased 2 gift certificates from Fox 2's Be Our Guest offering which expired on 7.16. We paid $25.00 each with a value of $50.00 each. Upon being seated, we told the 1st contact that we had 2 gc's and he said since they expired that day we could use both. Prior to ordering we told our waitress, and she said the same thing. The gift certificates were out for them to see. Our understanding, confirmed by 2 of their employees, was that we had $100 toward our bill that expired that day, so ordered larger meals. When the check came, we were only credited $50.00. Not wanting to make a scene for them, I called once we got home. Initially I was told there was a miscommunication, then told I should call Fox 2 and talk to them, then after too much time, the person who was our 1st contact assured me that our happiness was his priority and asked if he could call me the next day. This happened on 7.16 it's ,7.24, no call has been received. There are so many ways this situation could have been avoided. They could have looked at the gift certificates and told us they would credit $50.00 not $100. We even said to our waitress that we were going to order larger meals since we had $100 credit, or had the person who said he'd follow up the next day, done so. Going forward, as good as their food is, we'll give thought prior to going to or recommending My Place. read more

Very good! We live in the area and have been once but haven't ordered any food. We got the ribs, green hummus, shrimp bao, wings and pizza and everything was so good!! The vibe was kinda in between. My Place is awesome! This restaurant is huge, colorful and full of televisions and projectors. There's ample parking in front of the restaurant and outdoor seating. The staff are very personable and they make you feel at home. I was able to meet the owner and the head chef. They were super nice. The first time I went, I had the Charbroiled Scottish Salmon and the Salted Caramel Pretzel Brownie Cake for dessert. The Pain Reliever was my cocktail of choice. Great choice! I went back for the Easter brunch to celebrate my birthday. The buffet spread was phenomenal. They had everything from carved ham to a waffle station. My favorite was the vegetable casserole. We had a really fun time watching basketball here. They have a huge screen that's projected on one side of the restaurant, so that was a definite plus. The beer wall is a huge draw to the space, and you can upload money on your card and pour as you go. They have a pretty good selection, and they also give you to the option to make your own flight which I appreciated. I believe after a specific amount of beer poured, you have to get approved to add more money, I guess this is a way of management of folks being over-served. We tried a variety of food options, we tried the pretzels, boneless wings, and the bbq chicken pizza. We were happy with all options. This place was definitely not what I was expecting but overall exceeded my expectations. Food was really good and there's a lot of great choices on the menu with a Mediterranean/asian/Indian fusion. Cauliflower bites with the Korean BBQ were probably my hands down favorite menu item after sampling several different things. The inside is huge and a great area for watching a game with big projectors in the back. The patio outside is nice as well and a great bar area. I came here to Valentine's Day. It was raining cats and dogs on Valentine's Day. The entrance is disjointed from main part of restaurant. I met Sunny the owner who was very warm and welcoming. They had a hand written log of reservations which seemed very old school. The venue is spacious, cute and modern with projectors of art and nature. My waitress Nicole was very nice but seemed new to waitressing. A nearby waitress seemed stressed by her patrons and colleagues and it was audibly clear so it was kind of distracting. But it was Valentine's Day so I imagine it was a lot for most restaurants. My sugar free caramel latte was lukewarm and not really strong in coffee taste. Their Valentines Day menu was the only option for Valentine's Day. You could get items ala carte but nothing from main menu. The three courses were $89 plus an automatic 20% gratuity While the winter salad was scarce, it was unique and delicious. I devoured my General Tso salmon along with the scallion mousseline accompaniment. And the dessert? HEAVENLY. I am not sure if it was truly yogurt as it tasted like true cheesecake. This place is very large and had large projector screens playing different videos. The menu is very big, but everything we tried was very good. It was a mix of bar food and middle eastern food. Service was fast and they had a cool beer wall. Our server was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. He said they will be serving brunch soon, so I'd like to try that. They had a self service beer wall with lots of options but, it stopped you after 3 pours , but you could ask your server to readjust your card if needed. I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. The downside is that the restaurant has an odd vibe and lacking a strong identity , it's like they are trying to be a craft cocktail bar, a beer bar (they have a ton of taps where you can pour your own and try different beers), a sports bar, a casual restaurant and fine dining. It's also an odd hidden location and is laid out like it used to be a buffet restaurant. It's very bright and there in the menu is huge, like there's not really a certain focus of type of food so the menu is a little overwhelming. All that being said however, the food was very good!! And the servers were very kind and attentive. We had the calamari, babaganoush, schwarma wrap and hot honey salad. I recommend getting the salad without the hot honey dressing since the shrimp are already covered in hot honey. I got ranch on the side and it only needed a tiny bit of ranch, which complemented the dish well. What an incredible place to have dinner the menu is quite varied. And the beer selection and serving style is second to none. There's a wall of beer taps for your selection to try. The way it works is that you put a credit card on file and they issue you a tap card and you go up and there is a place to activate The Taper it dispenses and keeps count of your ounces and then you pay for the total at the end of the night. Our waiter win was extremely knowledgeable. And he was on the ball with the service. Our table started off with a shareable which was white truffle oil, and battered fries with a spicy aïoli sauce. The many different flavors was a symphony of taste. I started off with the French onion, chicken sandwich and a side salad of spinach and arugula with a blue cheese dressing. The sandwich had a chimichurri sauce on it, which was delicious. my wife had the chicken carbonara which she said was good. The other couple we had dinner with had the chicken shawarma and the kicken bourbon bone in wings. I tried the wings. They were outstanding. The ambience is sports bar and there was multiple multiple televisions with various soccer games and baseball games on this place is well worth your time and effort. And we went on Saturday night and was seated immediately and the restaurant was never very crowded all evening, which is a mystery to me should've been packed. My husband suggested this place after seeing it on social media so we decided to try it out on a Saturday night. First of all, the space is AMAZING! So big, clean and bright. I was very impressed by the huge wall with very abstract videos! The establishment was not busy so we expected exceptional service. My husband got a beer card for the taps and I ordered a Lemon Drop Martini. The martini was delicious and would have ordered a second had I been asked but once we received our mains, there was little attention from our server. We ordered two appetizers, the Samosas and Mango Habanero Battered Cauliflower. The Samosas were good but the cauliflower was spectacular! For our mains, we ordered the Oven Roasted Salmon and Mix Grilled Plate. The salmon was good and the rice was perfection. My husband was not overwhelmed by the grilled plate; said it needed more seasoning...and he's an under seasoned so that is saying something. I really think this place has a lot of potential!! It's only been open for a month or so and working through the kinks. I would love to see it succeed with an expanded menu and better service. Even though there is a beer wall to pour your own, others would prefer other drinks (and refills) that would help drive drink sales. Don't forget about them! What a great place! We started with the bone-in Korean BBQ wings - super saucy with a sweet tang. Also tried the somosa - lovely flakiness with a pillowy potato filling. The tamarind sauce was delicious! The house salad was fresh with good quality greens and a generous portion. I ordered the falafel and hummus plate - the 6 falafel were perfectly cooked and the pita that came with the plate was a show stopper - so amazing! My dining partner had the mixed meat kabob and raved about the chicken. The atmosphere was interesting- it felt like a large dining hall and perhaps could be improved by adding some dividers for creating more private spaces. The huge projection wall was fun! I had some coworkers that were wanting to try My Place so I found myself there twice this week and both times I was extremely pleased! The first time I had the Chicken Shawarma Wrap which was delicious and the fries were really good! The second time I just shared appetizers and all of those were great with good portions. The service was kind and friendly. The "Beer Wall" as we called it in my second trip was perfect for a happy hour kind of vibe! They have a wall of 50 draught beers, you get a card, and you can self-serve pay by the ounce. I was blown away by the service here. The owner seeded us and mentioned they were short-staffed. However, this did not affect us. Our waitress was extremely sweet and took very good care of us. I asked for plain mashed potatoes instead of garlic potatoes because I have an intolerance. I love garlic but it does not love me. Anyway, the chef came out to speak with me because there was a lot of garlic in the other items I ordered. But he said he would scale it back for me. I almost cried. This has never happened to me before. He was so friendly and quite funny. And the food was amazing. The salmon was cooked perfectly. It just melted in my mouth. I ended up going with the rice instead of the mashed potatoes and it was delicious. We had trouble deciding on dessert so we chose to have the bread pudding at the restaurant and we took home the brownie. The bread pudding was the best I've ever had. Arrived here on a snowy Monday afternoon with the lovely lady Red to try a new restaurant in the afton south east county area. Located at 7401 Watson rd and witha cafe attached this new spot is certainly a eye catcher inside. We looked over the menu a sort of Mediterranean/classic fusion type of food. We both chose burgers with twist fries and a cheese stuffed pita type bread as an appetizer. The burgers at 15 dollars were average, the fries were tasty although they could have been better with less seasoning on them. Just heard about a new restaurant in our neighborhood and wanted to give it a try. They are only a week into their soft opening when we visited and they are on a limited menu, but they still have a variety to choose from. They have pizzas, chicken tenders, burgers, salmon, shrimp, as well as Indian and Mediterranean options. We got the Buffalo Chicken pizza and the Falafel starter. The Falafel included 6 Falafel served with picked turnip, pickles, and cucumber served with Tahini Sauce. They were really tasty. The Buffalo Chicken pizza had a bubbly crust, and the sauce had a sweet barbecue kind of flavor. I loved the texture and the flavor. They've gone all out on the decor. The restaurant is huge with plenty of space for parties. They have a stunning video wall that covers the whole side wall of the restaurant. They have gorgeous branded tableware and glassware. They have a whole wall of craft beers that are self served. They also have an automated system for mixing the alcoholic drinks. It's all really impressive. They will be expanding/adjusting the menu and will be opening the cafe with breakfast options soon. The staff were all great and helpful. We were really impressed and liked all of the international options. Definitely a place to try out! read more

We were first time customers today and we will definitely be back. We ventured in to have a couple drinks after a friend saw them on Facebook. First impression the space is bright, open, huge, modern, yet comfortable decor. The space has a bar, a coffee bar, and a restaurant. They have a menu full of variety and a brunch menu. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The wall of beer taps is extensive and priced well. I believe I counted approx 54 taps. You get your card and it calculates your ounces up to 32oz before you have a reset it. That is a great feature to protect any over serving. We ended up ordering a few apps- the pretzels were warm and soft with a garlic herb oil over them. The sauce served with it was different- kind of a honey mustard and kind of a cheese, interesting. Some of us liked it, some didn't. The breaded cauliflower was great with the buffalo and ranch. I also got the Korean bbq sauce to try with it, but it was just a standard bbq sauce that they gave us- nothing Korean about it- it tasted like a standard sweet baby rays sauce which was disappointing. We also had the stuffed grape leaves which were served cold (odd to those eating them) and quite sour, but the sauce served with them offset the sour nicely. And lastly the hummus and pita bread. The hummus comes out on a small platter with a lovely presentation, but it's a lot of hummus and they only served it with 1 warmed pita. It really needs to be served with more than 1- probably at least 3 for the quantity of hummus served and a variety of fresh vegetables would be a nice and welcomed addition. We had a great experience. Met the owner who shows my husband his pump room and explained his vision and concept for the place. He wants this place to be an experience and it certainly is. A friend and I have been searching for a restaurant that combines healthy, local, diverse, and modern elements with exceptional service at a reasonable price. Today, I discovered that My Place embodies these qualities. Factoring in room for improvement on minor service details (because I too work in the industry) and after experiencing outstanding presentations and service efforts, I felt as though we received royal treatment. The added bonus was meeting the owner and one chef because the other was traveling for business. We learned that My Place is a family-owned business operating for seven months, featuring two talented chefs who create stunning dishes from their multicultural kitchen. The restaurant offers a family-style dining area, a self-serve beer wall with over 52 flavors next to a full service bar and a cozy coffee and tea section for casual gatherings. For an added bit of information, the tea served at My Place is the same brand that is served in The White House. Exciting, right? If this description, the foodie pictures below and my endorsement do not persuade you to visit My Place, you are missing out on an exceptional dining experience. My Place is undoubtedly my favorite local restaurant so I want to watch them strive and thrive. Those familiar with me know that I have never made such a statement before. My Place (My Cafe) Located on Watson I saw the post about brunch on the weekends and figured I would try another new to me place. The café side only serves brunch on the weekends. Apparently they have a real French cook, so I would give them a chance for brunch, but since I haven't tried it, I can't give my two feedback. For my experience, though, when you first walk in, you're greeted with a vast area that looks like a higher end bar and grill type place (it should be noted that My Place, and My Café are linked together, but separated by a short wall, you can walk in between both of them). This space would be great for anybody who enjoys watching sports. Their whole one wall is digitalized and allows for sports to be viewed there. They have 52 choices of beer you can do different size flights which I think makes it great for anyone who wanted to try something new. The day I went I merely tried the cheeseburger and twist fries. The food wasn't my favorite, but I also realized that they're just starting. There is a middle Eastern/American type of menu food wise. The service overall was fine. There were only four customers at the time. I will definitely give them another chance and curious about their brunch. read more

You can tell that he was clearly proud of it and he should be. It was so good. Chef Charlie was great, so personable. What a wonderful addition to an already fantastic restaurant. And looking at a lunch/dinner menu I can tell that it has grown extensively and offers a lot more delicious options to choose. I have added some photos of the most recent menu. I can tell from the original menus that the prices have gone up a bit. For instance, a regular cup of coffee, a soda or ice tea is $6 a glass/cup, but that of course includes your refills unless you get lemonade or the special tea. That seems a bit high to me. If you have a family of four you're spending $24 just for four glasses of ice tea. Several of the other items that were on the soft menu had a price adjustment as well between $1-$5. Even with the price increases this is still a great restaurant. It offers several options to choose from, including their beer wall. The ambience is different than anywhere else in St. Louis and the owner really cares about the place. read more

We visited for the first time today for lunch/brunch. A great experience, all the way around! The place is large, clean, and very inviting. Three distinct areas - a cafe, bar area, and dining room. We chose to sit in the cafe, which was well lit, with tables for 4 like a brunch restaurant. Service was great, and the food was excellent. Really wide variety of offerings on the menu. The chef came out to introduce himself, asking about how we liked the food. Husband had chicken shawarma wrap, daughter has bacon cheese burger, and I had the Unmistakedly Benedict, a riff on Eggs Benedict but with green chili hollandaise, steak instead of Canadian Bacon, and flat bread instead of an English muffin. Different, but really good! Appetizers also excellent (fried cauliflower and stuffed grape leaves.) I also need to mention the walking beers on tap, where you can pour a little to try, or a full beer. Prices are by the ounce, but the beer is fresh, and ice cold. I enjoyed a grapefruit Radler draft that was delicious! All three members of our family voted for a return trip. Just visited My Place in St. Louis for the first time, and what a fantastic experience! The atmosphere is warm and inviting -- it really does feel like your place. The food was outstanding. The chicken wings were crispy, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The mixed grill plate was tender and flavorful. the pizza and twist fries are both excellent. The pizza had the perfect balance of crust, and cheese, and the fries were crisp and seasoned just right. But the star for me was the pita bread, soft, fluffy, hot and served fresh.
