My boyfriend and I went there for a couple massage this weekend. The facilities are very nice and the staff is very welcoming. I chose My Spa Joy because the price was reasonable and the reviews were good. My experience wasn't great but my boyfriend really enjoyed his. My masseuse (Morenike) was a little rough with me which made me wonder if she was attentive to the tension in my body. We did the hot stone massage and at one point she got out a hot stone and put my foot on top of it. It was extremely hot and left a mark on my foot for a couple of hours. All of these things made me a little nervous so I don't think I could relax as much as I would have liked to. I would give My Spa Joy another chance with the exception that I got another masseuse. read more

What a fantastic neighborhood spa! I most certainly will be coming from now on for messages and facials. The atmosphere was very clean and soothing in a comfortable feel of an old house. The message therapist was very thorough, making sure I was comfortable and that the pressure what just right. She also did some stretching on me that really worked on some of my sore spots. .They had several various essential oils that could be used. Best decision to get a massage here. I booked a fusion couples massage and it was an incredibly relaxing experience. I apologize I can't remember who our technicians were but they were FABULOUS. I am a pretty ticklish person and there were some parts I felt myself almost going over that edge but she was very good at alternating between rubbing and pressing to where I never felt like I couldn't handle it. The space was very inviting and the receptionist was very welcoming. It's a little tricky to find with no signage out front but I knew the building I was looking for from pictures on Yelp beforehand and did not have trouble. My whole body feels incredible relaxed and I felt a lot of knots going away. We will definitely be back here in the future for our massages. read more

The staff is SO NICE and accommodating, but I got a lash lift and just did not see much of a difference in the curl of my lash after. They also used a very sticky glue that left residue and a very pungent perm solution. The technician was so nice and tried her best to get the glue off, but I left with an uncomfortable amount still on my lids. I've had a better lash lift for cheaper and wouldn't return for this specific service. I would still try again for s different service because the staff and cleanliness was top notch. read more

Just had the best massage with Ula. I booked a 30 minute neck, back, and shoulders massage to work out a knot in my right shoulder and tension in my left shoulder. She did such a great job paying attention to these trouble spots. She identified what might have caused them and gave me tips on how to avoid agitating them further in my daily life. Joy and her staff never fail to impress me with their hospitality, professionalism and fantastic massages. I have received five massages and each was exactly what I needed whether Swedish or deep tissue. They welcome feedback during my massages to make sure the pressure is not too little or too much and I make sure to be completely honest otherwise it is a waste of my time and money. I will continue to use their services and I highly recommend giving them a shot. If you live in the Montrose, Heights or Upper Kirby areas, this location is very convenient. 3.5!! I would give it 5, maybe next visit, the reason I gave it a 3.5 star because Nike was just a little bit rough on my face and made it hard to relax at times. My Spa Joy is an oasis tucked away in Houston. A getaway for you body, soul and mind. The customer service is too notch and the massage therapists are amazing. I work out and travel a lot and Nezha is the massage therapist that I make my appointment with most of the time. I did not know what to expect when I arrived here but I was pleasantly surprised. I had an express facial with Chelsey who was very polite and informative. She left my face feeling clean and refreshed. Then, I had one of the best deep tissue massages of my life from Winston. He pretty much restored my neck and back after months of aches and spasms from carrying and giving birth to a 10 pound baby. I think their prices are fair and the place was very clean and relaxing. The only complaint I had was I purchased a gift certificate online for a package which indicated that gratuity would be included but once I was checking out I was informed that it was not included due to an error but I was not expected to leave any because of the mishap. Luckily I had some cash in my purse and I was able to leave a little something for both employees because they deserved it, just not as much as I would have liked. AMAZING. I have had tons of stress knots that built up and really needed to be addressed.
