    Pad Angel Wings

My Thai USED to be good. The noodles used to be so flavorful it was my favorite place. They must have gotten a new chef or something because.. it's literally disgusting now. I ordered my usual (pad see ew) and I get uncooked, gummy, white clumps of noodles that don't even look like they ever touched a pan. Absolutely WHITE, zero flavor, not even seperated, just disgusting, gummy chunks of white noodles customers are paying $18 for an order of noodles are you're so lazy you can't even cook it so that it's edible? Yeah I won't be coming back!

A picture speaks a thousand words, so I'll leave you with a photo of the Pad See Ew I received tonight in my delivery order. The bell pepper, beans, and cilantro were an unpleasant touch - but most of all the lack of sauce was horrible. The unsauced noodles were stuck together, the chicken had virtually no seasoning or sauce on it, and the overall color was way too light. I was so looking forward to trying a new Thai spot and this unfortunately was the worst ever. Super disappointing!

A decent place to grab Thai food in the area if you have a hankering for it. The service is friendly and not super in-your-face with the check-ins. The decor is warm and welcoming, making it a cozy spot to visit. Our most recent visit was a bit of a flop. We ordered: roti, fried tofu, green curry paste fried rice, and Rad Nar. (all but the tofu was disappointing) The roti was $12 which was pretty expensive for a small appetizer, but we gave it a go thinking maybe this would be special. It wasn't. I would skip this one. It was the same roti you'd get at most Thai places but at more than double the cost. It could've been an off day.. not sure, but ours came really undercooked and was soggy. I reluctantly sent it back to get crisped up. It was really really disappointing. On the bright side, the server didn't seem to take any offense to this and was accommodating. The fried tofu was a bit light on the fry but it was crispy enough. We've had it crispier in our other visits. Curry fried rice was light on all the aromatics... I don't know if the flavors are toned down for this market or if it was a different chef but I hate to say it was extremely bland. I ended up adding pepper flakes and pickled peppers to spruce up the flavor. Rad Nar.... not-so-rad... Maybe it's an acquired taste? This dish uses the wide flat rice noodles and comes in a soy bean gravy. Most of the wide noodles were clumped together and the gravy was basically clear gloop. There wasn't much of a fermented soy bean flavor at all, or any flavor for that matter. This was the most bland dish we had that night. Bland and gloopy. So. Gloopy. It was not enjoyable. Thai food usually is a giant flavor bomb of opposing flavors and textures that magically work together (heat and sweet, tangy and creamy, crispy and soft....). Everything we ordered during this visit was simply bland. I really hope it was just an off day for the kitchen. Our other two visits were "ok" (I'm recognizing that maybe the flavors are a bit toned down given the location) but not disappointing like our most recent visit. This isn't to say the food is bad, my intention is to share some honest feedback for those who frequent Thai food to temper their expectations. Stop in anyway? Let me know your thoughts!

Menu item beef satay with rice.

We order this every single weekend for pickup. They don't always include the rice. Today, After 20 minutes arguing with 2 people behind the counter they said the rice was not included yet, the website clearly states it. they tried to say this lunch menu is only during the weekdays even after we showed them the website advertisement. We won't be back. The rice costs cents to make and for $18, almost $21 after tax they are trying to give you just 3 sewers of meat and no rice...scammers.

I was in town on vacation, saw the good reviews and rating so went in for a try. The restaurant was really busy with a lot of Togo orders. No staff was paying attention to us and we did not get seated for about 5 minutes even there were empty tables. The servers were not attentive for our orders. My money was not well spent there. We ordered spring rolls, pad Thai with beef and pineapple fried rice. The spring rolls tasted fresh and the combination of ingredients were great. However, it's on the pricey side. The portions of the pad Thai and pineapple fried rice were small with that price. For the pad Thai, I only tasted ketchup, there was only a few pieces of beef. It definitely not worth that price.

It so delicious and tasty. It depends on what mango they give you, it either kinda sour or sweet. I think my was sour-ish but it balance out really great. I wish they give me more coconut milk. Overall definitely would buy again but i would ask for more coconut milk (for my taste reference).

Absolutely delicious! It seems like they have more choices than at the Novato My Thai. We enjoyed the Roti with an absolutely delectable curry sauce dip, Angel chicken wings stuffed with crab and pork, mango and coconut sticky rice, and coconut ice cream. The staff was so attentive and pleasant. Thank you for a lovely dinner.

Shrimp Rolls are delicious paired w/ peanut and sweet and sour sauce.

Thai as good as it gets. Last week I learned that this is one of my top 5 local restaurants. One of my buddies asked what we should eat for lunch and I thought long and hard and we ended up at My Thai. I realized that all of our food was created with quality ingredients in a medley of flavors, textures and heat. I'm a repeat customer and have never left a review but am compelled to let you in on my guilty pleasure. My Thai. I don't much care for the patio dining appearance and I wish they made it more permanent if the city allows. Overall their efforts to provide us with good food and ingredients to match are the reason for my attention, my money and time whenever I can afford all three.

This place serves great Thai food! First time for several of us here. The seating area had neat shared bench seat with cushions- it gave the illusion that we were sitting on the floor. We had a variety of dishes: -Beef salad- grilled marinated pieces of beef among greens with pickled julienned carrots, radish and beet with a citrus lime dressing- wasn't a small salad and it was filling and refreshing. The beef was tasty and soft. -Chicken coconut soup: tangy and creamy with tender pieces of chicken -Pork pad thai: soft pork with sauced noodles. 2 people could share this dish -Green curry: it had a nice kick and wasn't too thin. It had a good amount of veggies- it was great with the coconut rice. -Barbecue chicken: big pieces of tender marinated chicken All of the dishes were enough to share among 2 people with a side of rice and they weren't overly salty. I recommend getting the sticky rice and the coconut rice was pretty good too. I thought the prices were reasonable for what you got. The service was great too- she came back couple of times to check on us. We all left full and we even took home leftovers!

We ordered the Pun Khao Poon platter (lettuce wraps) with pork springrolls, pad thai with chicken, and the mango salad. The portions were very generous. The mango salad was the highlight of the meal, followed by the lettuce wraps. The dressing in the mango salad had just the right combination of sweet and tangy. We loved the addition of mint for the wraps, but I personally don't care for perilla leaves. The fish sauce accompanying the wraps was delicious and was also great over the pad thai, which was a bit on the bland side without it. Service was a bit less than perfect. When one diner asked for water, only her glass was refilled when another glass was obviously in need also; minor overlook, though. The one thing that was a bit disturbing was the noise level. It was extremely loud, so it was really difficult to hear each other talk. It didn't help that the party at the next table had a woman who cackled loudly when she laughed. It was a relief to step outside after we ate. Not sure what can be done to help with this, but it did make dining there not as pleasant as it could be. Even with this, I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

My husband and I arrived on a Saturday in the late afternoon and there was already a wait for walk-ins. We were impressed with the hostess who greeted us at the door. She did a great job letting us know how long the wait would be. We felt that she cared about what she did and wanted to make sure our first impression was a good one. When the wait would have possibly gone longer than the 15-20 that she quoted, she made sure to let us know and why. We felt as if we personally mattered and were not just covers needing to be sat. She offered to get us drinks and gave us menus to peruse while we waited. The kitchen was going at full throttle. Togo orders were flying out the door and more were lining up. Once seated, though friendly, service was not as impressionable as the hostess. We had asked her to stagger the dishes a bit but the three dishes came out all at once. The table was small. We understand that they were busy but that did affect our experience. The Thai Iced Tea was refreshing. We also had Fire Cook Beef, Pad See Ew Noodles, Spicy String Beans and a Side of Steam White Rice. Nice portions. Dishes were nicely spiced so much so that we forgot to ask for a spice rack. We ordered a lot so we could enjoy leftovers -- and the next day, we sure did! Everyone was nice and overall it was a nice meal. We look forward to returning when we are back in the area.

Since I had to get my watch fixed across the street from the restaurant at Gold Rush Jewelry today, I had decided to do my foodie thing and see if I have been missing out. My review here is strictly related to the pho that I had today. As long as the restaurant location was clean (and it certainly was), the food makes no difference to me whether I was served at the restaurant or the WH with the whole place painted in gold. Also I do make my own pho broth (aka liquid gold) at home, so I am all about searching for a different impressive interpretation. Back to the food, I took a picture of my bowl of pho as soon as it was served at my table, and I immediately tasted the soup before anything else was added to it. The soup was perfectly balanced both spices and seasoning wise and the temperature was just right. Then I added basil, bean sprouts, and a squeeze of lemon juice to my pho, as nothing else was needed to alter or masking the original taste of the slowly simmered broth. There was no need to insult the broth (or the broth chef) by adding hoisin sauce and fake stuff to it. I truly enjoy the style of the beef served. The beef pieces are very tender, not like the rare beef slices that most Vietnamese restaurants offer. Also I cannot say enough good things about the ribs that came with my pho order. Overall it was a very satisfying bowl of pho to me. There are many Vietnamese restaurants out there with their own interpretations of pho broth in terms if the use if spices, seasonings, and bone to water ratios in make the all day all night long slow simmering broth. Also, northern style and southern style pho are quite different from each other by taste and composition. There is nothing wrong with most of these other Vietnamese restaurants and their own interpretations , however I found the pho that I had today at Golden Era very agreeable with what I am looking for in terms of "balance". Some spices might smell great if a lot of it is used, but could create a noticeable unpleasant taste and even an irritation reaction to the throat. This is why I believe Golden Era is a winner with the pho game. I have a photo of a fully finished bowl to proof it. I will definitely return to Golden Era again. Will see if their quality control is consistent enough to build a regular customer base. Other factors to consider: they do have a clean and tidy looking kitchen, but from the front end of the restaurant to the kitchen is about 30 plus steps; the restaurant was operated by a grandma and grandpa only when I was there at 11:30 am, they were very nice and doing the best that they could... please be kind to these folks.
