I've been in this area a lot, know ppl who love within 5 miles of this place and never heard of it! It's awesome!!! The food is excellent, PRICES WOW!, the Only down grade was for its somewhat shabby appearance, not dirty!!! Just noticed outlets overused and cords hanging, maybe some older window curtians and crowded workspaces behind the long very big and unfriendly to short people counter, at 4'10" it's a hassle.. but aside from the personal issues.. it's a great breakfast or lunch place! My Monte Christo Breakfast sandwich was awesome! The home fries that came with were good. We ordered a side of French fries and they were very good. Crunchy! Breakfast sandwich another had, was said to be very good. Bacon was perfect. Hubby's baked crumb crusted fish and rice with mixed summer veggies was excellent, I tasted!! the ice coffee was well worth it! Huge, strong! They have a DRIVE THROUGH!! Service was spot on! This is best place to get breakfast! The family that runs it is really kind and welcoming, they make you feel right at home. Their food is fresh and cooked perfectly. I have never had a bad meal there! Favorites include their breakfast sandwiches (especially on the Portuguese sweet bread) and pancakes. The part I love the most is that you can sit at the bar and watch your food being made. Also, places get bonus points when they have great food AND great coffee...Jo's definitely gets the bonus points for the coffee. Definitely give this place a try! read more

I use to go to the Pearl Street Diner all the time for breakfast and did not realize it had changed hands until I had the menu in my hands, now called Jo's Best Diner. I got the Philly Steak Omlette and what a disappointment! When it was Pearl Street Diner you would get an omlette that was huge, packed with steak. When I got Jo's omlette this morning I thought it was a mistake, maybe a kiddie meal meant for another table. It looked foolish on the plate. They maybe used an ounce of meat, at 8 dollars what a rip off! I should have had the waitress take my picture, because they will never see me again. read more

Surprised I'm reading employees are nice great food. I called for an order to go no good morning to begin with ordered meatloaf no vegetables usually with a dinner you get a vegetable.. Again I get there no good afternoon nothing. When I ordered it was to take 15- 20 mins it was over 30 mins no sorry for the wait thank you have a nice day nothing. The food becomes secondary. Also I own 3 diners in NY and Jersey they have the pineapples to call yourself a diner NO WAY a diner is opened 24/7 has desserts in a case when you come in also most diners will do half portions. As far as the food goes it was average nothing great. Meatloaf with mashed and a cheese omelet with white toast with a heel unexceptable ! Right down the the road you'd be happier with Stonebridge CAFE. It's rare I leave a review for anything but with the environment with restaurants I just feel I had to say something. Came in here over the weekend for the breakfast. Well priced food that tastes home-made. I got the challah french toast (saw that there was Portuguese sweet bread as I was heading out the door and knew that it was a good thing I didn't see more of the specials because otherwise it would have been half an hour before I decided which one to get...) I adored the french toast-it had some really nice spices in the meal. The beau and his sister both got pancakes and seemed satisfied. Not my favorite pancakes but then again I've started making buttermilk pancakes from scratch because it is soooo worth it to spend that tiny bit of extra effort to get amazingly delicious pancakes. Concerning sides, I got the hashbrowns (pass on these-they are the same as the ones at Stonehill) while the beau got the corned beef hash and really enjoyed them. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and this would be a regular if I were in the area. read more

I went for the homemade hash and it was great. I hate the canned stuff. Another basic for me with breakfast is they better keep my coffee cup full. They also did a good job with that. Nice clean place with decent prices. read more

It IS a diner. Not a fancy joint. Food is excellent. Really good. You can tell the cook is a real pro, his workstation is clean and organized, he calls out his incoming orders. There seen to be a lot of regulars, and he knows people by name. Nice touch. The ice coffee is very good, and the hash is homemade, and is AWESOME. There are some real gems around, like JJ's Caffe, and this food ranks right up there. read more

I love Jo's Best and for a small local diner, his food is the BEST there is. Don't expect fancy yuppie food. This is good old fashioned home cooking. The blueberry pancakes are my favorite with loads of blueberries in a light and fluffy cake. Or, there is the Portuguese French Toast which is made from a Portuguese sweet bread roll, dunked in the regular "French" toast batter, then cooked on the flat top til golden brown. Or try the meat lovers omellette with all the breakfast meats inside..with a side of hash browns rather than home fried and a grilled bagel. ALL YUMMY and the coffe is FRESH, HOT and Never ending!! Well worth a trip over there. Even the on premise baked muffins are to die for (especially grilled) All things can be customer orders to taste and Jo and Mena Oliviera make you fell like you dropped in on friends for breakfast. I rated 4 stars because this is not a fancy place so I don't want people to expect more than great home cooking! read more

Went there for the first time and won't be returning. Went on my lunch break to get a simple grilled chicken wrap. Place wasn't even busy, waited over 30 minutes to get the wrap, ridiculous. Had to take the wrap to go since they took forever to make; get back to work to open it and find it was made completely wrong. Don't recommend this place, can't get orders right when it's not busy can only imagine service when it is busy. read more
