I had wanted The Hungry Waffle at the food truck park up the street on Probandt but was ignored and I was hungry so I drove here and got 3 tacos. I ordered a carne guisada, one barbacoa and a chorizo and egg to go. I know they're known for serving humongous tacos according to looking at a video from Bootleg Eats on IG but I just wanted regular size tacos, nothing too big. The lady at the counter was friendly. Wow!!! I've never had fideo loco this good! (Shh don't tell my mom!) I was so excited to check this place out and try their food I forgot to take any "before" pics or the cute decor, neon lights and murals inside! ‍ So this was the aftermath of me destroying a giant and well filled bowl of fideo loco! My hubs tried their beef fajita taco and the famous Karlita's Taco! He devoured too before I could snap a pic! Next time I'll take before pics haha! We had the Mexican plate with carne guisada and the cheese in the enchiladas was not melted, the carne guisada was not tender and the rice was bland. Wow! Wow! Wow! my mechanic is on the south side and we are always looking for new taco spots and my goodness and I'm glad we discovered My Tia's!!! These tacos were delicious, and I know that everyone in San Antonio says they have good tacos, but these were crazy good. Let's start with the service, when you walk in you feel like you are literally walking in to your tia's house. You are greeted immediately with joy and enthusiasm, seated and introduced to your server. There are lots of tables and it can feel a bit crowded so keep that in mind, you will have to be careful when you pull your seat out that you might hit the person behind you. As for the tacos, we have been here several times now and they are always consistent. The corn tortillas are really big compared to other corn tortillas that I've had. You can see in the picture that it is as long as the fork, most corn tortillas are very small And leave you hungry. The price point on these tacos are really good compared to the quality and size. They definitely do not give you small portions, these tortillas are filled to the brim. The fajita meat is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The potato egg and cheese is also a nice change, it is actually not dry and doesn't choke you when you swallow. The potatoes are nice and soft and the eggs are buttery. If it wasn't so far from me, I would be here at least every other weekend getting tacos, they are that good! I will say that the parking can be a bit tricky depending on the day of the week, the parking lot is always packed. From the 1604/281 interchange it is about a 35 to 40 minute drive. read more

Came with a very large group and despite the smaller size of the restaurant, they were still able to accommodate us. The menudo was very VERY good. I was also able to try some of the beans and they were also really delicious. They also had a variety of salsas on the table which were varying spice levels, great for our bigger group. There is a lady here with a bob hairstyle and her energy is amazing! I will surely be asking for her to be our server on my next visit. Their super tacos are humongous! (Sunday 1245) When you walk in it's a very small space with no sign in sheet or any direction to get a table , it's too loud unable to have a conversation. Ordered a special taco and a chalupa also ordered a lemonade which was not a fresh lemonade ( dispenser type of lemonade). The service was okay, the table next to us received our food first so there was a minor miscommunication in which table ordered what. I was baited into visiting this establishment from a YouTube influencer in which I came into this restaurant with high expectations and was let down unfortunately. With one taco and one chalupa and two drink the total was $28 and when I was asked to tip I stated no and the lady in the front still added a $1 to my bill. I will not recommend nor come back to this place. I wish everyone the best hopefully they can fix these issues to be much better for the future. read more

The beans were good. The highlight of the place were the homemade tortillas. I like mine with butter. I ordered butter then requested butter a second time and the waitress did not bring it. I had to ask a guy that cleans tables for butter. The place looks like a hot spot it was very busy. Service was lacking as the waitress never came to check in with us. I guess I was bigger she never brought my butter. Also this place has one restroom which is not enough for the size of the place. I had to get up twice to see if it was vacant. A hidden door to the back for the staff was also in the tiny hallway. I was battling going to the restroom with the people eating and the staff. Ugh, not a good setup for a food establishment. For the amount of customers the business needs to step up on training the waitstaff to provide better service so people want to come back to eat. read more

Tortillas looked good but the potatoes were boiled with runny red sauce (not salsa) and the bean taco had a tablespoon of beans with a slice of bacon (wish I could've taken a picture).
