It was chocked full of grilled chicken, which was tender and well seasoned. This was my first time having German tomato soup. But I love the soup with the vegetables and the ground beef. authentic Greek casual restaurant. I really liked this place, it was inexpensive and legit greek. It was lunch time so we only ordered Gyros and an Ice Tea. The gyro was big, filling and tasted good. They also gave us complimentary white bread slices to start. One thing I don't get and I am not sure if it's a "Michigan" thing, is the white bread. This one was wrapped in a sandwich bag, like the one you take for lunch. Just plain bread not toasted or anything. Can someone answer this for me? The food was okay, but the cook didn't cook all of it as I requested. I always want my hash browns crisp, not just the top layer, but all of them. My eggs were perfect medium. The chef could have cooked my chops a little longer so they could have been browner. My server was a sweetheart and very friendly. It was morning, so the restaurant was just getting busy, but the atmosphere was gentile and cozy. I will go back because those things I mentioned can be corrected. Food was not the usual full flavor Greek food. Chicken gyros was full of grissel texture was really funky. Service was horrible, it took forever to get them to take our order, it seemed like a very lo g time for our food to come even though there were another many people in the restaurant. No one ever came back to refill drinks or to bring additional condiments. To get to the restrooms you have to walk through the food prep area. We would never eat here again. read more

The food here is descent and I really enjoy coming here especially for breakfast or lunch. The mature staff is super pleasant and accommodating, giving the place a comfortable-home feeling. I've been here in groups of 10 or 12 and they were able to time our food well so we could all eat at the same time and finished in time to get back to work. I've also been here with my family and they were super nice and accommodating even when my toddler was a bit disagreeable. I highly recommend this restaurant but have never been here for dinner so I can't say anything for the dinner menu. My husband and I were driving and we noticed this new Greek restaurant and we decided that we were going to stop for dinner. Well, since he didn't have to work late tonight, we decided to give it a try. We both like Gyro's and we normally go Downtown to the Golden Fleece. You can count how many people were dining in, in which, we thought good for us, its quiet and the service would be quick, hubby was hungry. Well, not only was it quick, our waitress EeVee (EV) was excellent, friendly and very attentive. She came right over even before we were seated, brought us our menues, took our drink order. She came back with our drinks and brought us a big bread basket with fresh bread, butter and crackers! The bread tasted as if it was freshly baked. Mmmmm good.. she took our order and by the time my husband finished his salad our food came out! The fries were perfect, hot and crispy. Perfect color and size. I ordered my gyro well done, it was cooked to perfection with crispy tomatoes, I'm not a tomato person, but these were crispy along with the onions and the gyro garlic sauce, made it even more perfect. We will make it a point to come for and try out their breakfast and lunch menu as well. This little hole in the wall diner has become a weekly spot for my husband and me. The saganaki cheese is so good! The bread bowl always has fresh bread. My husband says they have the best clam chowder in the metropolitan Detroit area, but it's the best clam chowder I've ever had in my life! (In my defense, I typically don't like clam chowder.) We sat down and the owner/manager (?) came over to us and took our drink order. He brought our drinks and it took our waitress 15 minutes to even come to the table to take our order. The gyro sauce was good and not thick like some places. Fries were standard. My fiancé and I both loved the food, but thought our service sucked. When we walked to the front to pay we had to wait for the hostess to finish her personal phone call before cashing us out. She didn't care that we were standing there as she told the person "You obviously don't know what f**king 15 minutes means! I told you to leave in 10 minutes so you'd be here in 15. Oh well, you'll just have soggy hamburgers then!" She took my fiancé's debit card and started walking away, then came back and told us the machine didn't work up front. Took a little drive north to this wonderful restaurant...we both ordered the Greek Trio awesome stuff. A cup of chicken lemon soup and a nice rice pudding for dessert. So much food that I have a couple dinners for leftovers. Also on the dish was green beans and rice. The places has great omelets! And good lamb. But I have learned not to stray from my go to menu items. If you like gyros don't order the platter! Cause you have to make your own sandwich with the platter without lettuce and then you get stuck with green beans for your vegetable you apparently have no choice but to get green beans. waste of money! I would have been happier with just the damn gyro sandwich. Normally I stick to the hearty breakfast and the gyro omelet. I love gyros and greeksalads but I hate getting a bunch of items on a plate and being left to make the sandwich myself! I hate it. I liked it here. I can see comparisons to coney islands however most coneys do not have marinated octopus or skordalia (with fried artichokes too). I cannot speak to authenticity as I have never been to Greece but it was very nice food. I had an obscenely big gyro here. Part of my fullness issue was that I ate those artichokes dipped in skordalia app myself, yes all by myself, solo. Thank god for yoga pants for fat indulgence days. It was worth it. Mmmmmm. My husband was not a bit interested in either side of that concoction and good thing because I wasn't a bit interested in sharing it. He had a country omelet smothered in sausage gravy, hash browns cooked crisp as requested and some wheat toast. As he cleaned his plate in rather swift fashion I am assuming he had no complaints. He does not really love discussing his food, he's strange. Service was friendly and welcoming. The server was super helpful after finding out we were newbies. Refills appeared without request. All good in my book. The restaurant is comfortable, with plenty of different seating options and room to move. Prices are a steal in here. So I came here to have something different when I first got here the environment was very dusty on the cieling, walls and the fans and the tiling looked a little worn out, the waitress was nice and got our drinks fast. I ordered the Rib eye Steak to have a different flavor but I should have realized that is something u shouldn't order at a Greek restaurant. I expected it to be a Greek restaurant, but its menu is more like an American diner with a Greek spin on about a quarter of their menu items. The gyros here at Mykonos Coney Island in Taylor, Michigan was actually better than the gyros on the island of Mykonos, Greece. This place is on par with the best Greek restaurants in Greece. The service was very friendly! Very clean, affordable and cozy atmosphere. I wasn't in town long enough to eat everything on their menu. Trust me I would if I could. I highly recommend the gyro with with extra meat and Saganaki. Based on solid Yelp reviews, I ventured to Mykonos for lunch today. The decor was cute, and the place was nice and clean. The hostess was quite polite and we were seated right away. The food was mediocre. The saganaki was standard fare, the lemon rice soup was bland, and the bread was your typical plastic-wrapped edible slices. My companion's lamb shank was admittedly delicious. She liked the mashed potatoes that came with them, and the peas were tasty with some onion and herbs in them. My open faced roast turkey sandwich was good, but not great, with gravy that tasted like it came from a can. The hash browns were acceptable. We were served our soups and didn't see a waitress again for 20 minutes. In the meantime, our waters were empty and I had planned on asking for some lemon wedges to try to zest up the soup a bit. There was a black hair (mine is blonde) in the gravy underneath my turkey. I didn't notice it until I was done with my meal. While the waitress apologized, she rationalized it by claiming that the chef's hair isn't black. Completely unprofessional, and no offers to compensate in any way. I'm sure some locals love this place, but for my money, there are at least two "coney island' style restaurants within a 5 minute drive of Mykonos that are vastly superior. Mykonos is not your run-of-the-mill Coney Island. It has Coney offerings, but is actually a home-style greek restaurant with great food that you would swear is home-made. Chef Yianni is the real deal, having worked Greektown kitchens for years before starting his own business. If you eat there more than once, you will meet him because he's always out on the floor greeting and chatting with customers. The place is clean, the food is great, and the servers have been there forever...which tells you that they're good at what they do and they like their customers. If you like greek food try the Trio Combination (Pastichio, Moussaka, Spanakopita,) it's the best I've ever had. The lamb shank is another favorite of mine. Do yourself and your tummy a favor.
