After the abysmal Corkie's and the mediocre Dominion Restaurant (although the family who owned it were quite nice), this location finally has a good neighborhood restaurant worthy of patronage by the locals. The food is standard American fare (think steaks, crab cakes, burgers, great ribs and a standout prime rib on Fridays) and some Greek classics(souvlaki, lamb chops, moussaka). All are quite good, particularly the Greek dishes. Everything is made in house, fresh and well prepared. Add a few rotating specials, a full bar, decent wine list and friendly efficient service and you've got a neighborhood "go to" restaurant. My wife and i went to Mylos on the 21st which was Friday. We started out with the calamri that was fantastic, and very lightly battered and tender. My wife ordered the parmesan crusted halibut special that our waitress recommended, and i had the slowly roasted prime rib special. We both ended up splitting our meals between us because both were exceptional. This place was highly recommended by friends, and now i know why. It's not even on the menu yet, but any burger on the menu can be substituted for the Impossible Burger. We have been trying to find a local neighborhood restaurant that feels and acts like a local neighborhood restaurant, and never in my wildest dreams did I imagine it would be in a Greek restaurant in a strip center near the throw back Safeway. I went the first time with some friends and we sat in the bar area and it really did feel like Norm was going to come in and sit down at any time. Everyone seemed to know each other, or were in the process of doing so. The wines by the glass were great, and as we have gotten to know the place better we are really pleased that we can get nice wine with dinner without having to buy a bottle. The atmosphere is OK. The bar is cool in a retro kinda way, the first seating is area is fine and then there is another room with a sofa and more tables and for some reason it seems wrong, but I never sit there so it has been fine to date. The service has been, at all times, great. Rose has been our server the last couple of times and couldn't have been more charming. Now to the food - I can't tell you much because I ordered the Horiatiki (Village) Salad and the Grilled Salmon with no rice and extra veggies - and I haven't tried anything else since then. (Although I now order the salad with the salmon on it because otherwise it is way too much food.) My husband and I have been trying to clean up our act food-wise, and love being able to go someplace and have a stellar meal that is healthy, no guilt. Of course, at some point I am going to look at the rest of the menu and I probably won't be able to stick with "eating healthy". We did take out with the same thing one night, and I think they gave us more food than dining in - huge portions. Right now I am having a love affair with the place. When I have eaten there a few more times I will see how I feel about Mylo's. I can't imagine it ever being below 4 stars though - it will probably go up. read more

We had a great family dinner at Mylo's tonight. Our family of 4 was seated in the back room which was fantastic as no one else was there and the kids could enjoy hanging out on the sofas while the adults enjoyed appetizers. The kids absolutely loved the children's portion of a half rack of ribs. It was a nice surprise that tonight was 1/2 off bottles of wine night. We will be back! Please keep the sofas. A stack of board games for the kids would make this 5 stars! read more

Mylo's is aggressively mediocre. It is food you can get anywhere. The food alone isn't what inspired such a low rating though. The owner has been rude to me and my family members more than once. He boasts his political views like people actually want to hear them. Don't get me wrong, I am pro talking politics, but he yells his opinions and talks down to other people. Beside that and what really made me write this review is that he yelled at my grandmother for her forgetting that she ordered an iced tea. The woman is 89 years old. I hate giving bad reviews and am a huge supporter of small businesses, but the owner's treatment of others is repulsive. Most of their wait staff is great though, I'll give them that. read more

I think I expected this place to be Greek rather than American old tavern-like place. The truth is that the place does not have much Greek things on their menu. Food was ok, just average. Not really bad, but I wouldn't fantasize going back there to get more. I ordered lamb kabob, and the best part was vegetables )grilled tomatos and buttered broccoli) that came with it. Anyone giving this restaurant above a 2 Star review has extremely low standards. Our family got calamari and it was so bad (soggy and thick like onion rings), that we had to send it back. My daughter who got the ribs complained about how dry they came out. The chicken wings were also extremely bad, tasting like wet cardboard. The only plus was the warm pita bread which is good. The amount of money you spend for an extremely bad meal is just not worth it, and will never recommend this restaurant to anyone! If you are looking for quality Greek food, the tavern is good. $20 for a chicken Cesar salad. $12 for the salad and $8 for the chicken. $8 despite only getting MAYBE a quarter pound of chicken. To put it in perspective, I could go to chipotle and get more chicken in a burrito or bowl plus all of the other stuff they put into a burrito for about the same price. The only reason this isn't a 1 star rating is because, well, it was a pretty good chicken Cesar salad. The chicken was perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and very juicy. The salad overall was very tasty. Too bad I will never be getting it again. I have had other things from there and have generally liked it all. The food is good albeit pricey. This neighborhood restaurant serves high quality well prepared Greek and American food. For appetizers, the keftedes are yummy, the chicken wings spicy and the dolmades perfectly seasoned. Happy hour has half priced glasses of wine and beer. The entrees expecially the steak salad served over the greek salad base, the pastiso and the Greek chicken are greek home cooking at its best. The father and son owners clearly love their culture and food an it shows. High quality food, cozy restuaraqnt and nice outdoor seating area make this a go to for a leisurely dinner with friends. I stopped by the Mylo's Grill in McLean one evening after work with a couple friends for drinks and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was excellent (everyone was very friendly) and the restaurant itself spacious and the bar is comfortable. Chris, the owner and his staff seemed to know all the people there and they worked hard to keep everyone happy (the 'happy hour' prices were great). We shared appetizers and stayed for dinner. I had an incredibly delicious steak gyro and judging from the food that was brought and the comments at the table, everything was delicious! Mylo's Grill is one of my favorite restaurants in McLean. This is a great family friendly restaurant with a variety of good food (from burgers to chicken Souvlaki) and drinks. The servers are always friendly and are nice to my kids. The food and drink prices are completely reasonable. Keftedes, calamari and hummus - everytime! I love the comfy vibe, everyone seems to know each other and some nights it's like musical chairs, people just getting up and sitting at other guests tables to chat and catch up. I went there this evening for the first time and I will definitely be returning!! It was a wonderful evening to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. I had salmon stuffed with crabmeat - EXCELLENT!! My friend had the lamb chops and they were tender, cooked exactly as requested and as my friend said, "bone sucking" good. I had a small piece of lamb and although I'm not a huge lamb fan, the flavor was wonderful. The service was terrific and the server knowledgeable and friendly. This neighborhood treasure is hidden in a nondescript strip mall on the border or McLean and Arlington. The menu is predominantly Greek, but they have a number of traditional American dishes as well. While the ambiance is simple, the kitchen produces some outstanding food.
