OBVIOUSLY we had to go to mystic pizza. As a ny'er im biased because i know we have the best pizza but that being said it was still fun to come here and the pizza and experience itself was really great. Our waitress melainey was wonderful, especially when my dad ended up experiencing low blood sugar. She zipped into action and speedily got him orange juice and was like, "I'm an emt if anything happens!" We got there at 11:30 and were sat upstairs outside right away but I'd imagine it gets packed. And being from long island I had to get the fire island cocktail which was delicious. I also loved that we could do half pepperoni on the small pizza which was perfect size to share!

No way this is still a family-owned and operated pizza joint. We stopped here on the ride home from the Vineyard, and it tastes like Chuck E. Cheese pizza. It's even served on the same type of pizza tray as Chuck E. Cheese. Take a photo of the sign and find somewhere better to eat. The movie was definitely better than the pizza.

The food was mostly very good. The daily soup was amazing! The garlic knots chewy like reheated in microwave. The Mediterranean pizza was amazing crust on point. The service was good and helpful. The place still nostalgic vibe, mystic pizza great movie, first mention of my Portuguese people. Will be back!

The pizza here was incredible. The crust was doughy, but crunchy. The toppings were fantastic. They had a lot of fun specifically pizzas to choose from, we had a hard time making a decision! I always love a pizza place where you can sit down and have an actual meal (I hail from the takeout pizza Mecca.) They have a full bar and a good cocktail menu. The service was slightly quirky, but everything else was so good we'll ignore that.

We were in town for an event, and decided to try Mystic Pizza. Our expectations were not elevated because of the novelty and hype. The pizza was amazing! The pizza crust was baked a beautiful lightly brown color. It was delicate, tender and crispy all at once. We ordered the Margherita to share and just loved the freshly chopped garlic, tomatoes and fresh basil. It was so delicious and so much more than I expected. The staff is friendly and kind. Our waitress placed our order and was very attentive. The restaurant is decorated with the movie memorabilia as expected. It's adorable! They even had the movie playing as we had our lunch. It is charming!

First off Rae at the counter is awesome! She denied us out after a long car drive! We all had a slice of breakfast pizza, which was actually really good! They have cold beer on draft, which is always awesome. All of the nostalgia from my childhood memories of the movie King flooding back to when we walked in. The decor is just what you would expect from a "famous "pizza joint . Their seasonal cocktails are also pretty awesome ! It gets busy even if they off-season so get there early!

It was fine. The pizza was nothing special. Street parking. Cool place, celeb pics all over the place. Table service on one side and grab a slice on the other side. They do a beer and soda. I haven't seen the movie.

Every time we visit mystic Connecticut we come by here so I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this place already, especially since we do love it here, but today was the best experience ever. We went at 9pm and there was no wait especially since they have lots of seating and an upstairs area too. There is a public parking right across if you can't find street parking and when you come from a city like Boston, the prices for parking are really cheap. Now one of the first things I look for at restaurants is if they bring water when you sit. Here they didn't, however when I order my soda I ask for no ice and most of the times whoever is serving us forgets, but our waiter didn't forget.. and not just that but when I asked one of the servers passing by for a refill and said no ice, they paid attention and I was sure they wouldn't because no place ever gets that right. So servers there are good. For food we ordered the Yiayias secret pizza, Buffalo wings and Cajun fries. They fries were better than at most places but not what stood out. I was really impressed with the wings which were some of the best wings I've had. Same goes for the pizza. Originally when the wings came and I was eating so many that I felt I wouldn't be able to finish the pizza and regretted that we had asked for the large. But when I tried the pizza I was happy we got the large as I would take the leftover pizza home. Always love stopping by there when we visit mystic Connecticut and now I have a new favorite pizza. Looking forward to our next visit.

We visited the Coast Guard Academy for homecoming weekend and had to make a stop at the iconic Mystic Pizza. We were short on time and chose to order online & planned to eat it in the car, but thankfully it was slow at that hour and we were able to eat it in-house instead. I had wrongly expected it to be New Haven style with a charred thin crust, but instead it was doughy with a nice golden brown crust with plenty of cheese and fresh toppings. Overall, the pizza was fair and it was a fun visit, but we'd likely choose another location for our next pie. The pricing for their speciality pies seemed pretty excessive and we were glad we chose instead to made our own.

We were in Mystic while visiting different areas of CT... mostly watching the leaves change color. Saw the movie Mystic Pizza back in the 80's do how could we not stop in. The restaurant was cool and it felt nostalgic to be there. The pizza was very good but not great. I mean , Connecticut (New Haven) is practically the holy grail of pizza ... but this isn't New Haven style. Still, I did enjoy it ( I just love pizza) Service was good, staff was friendly, place was clean. If you're in town, it's def worth a go.

Whether you come here for the nostalgia or for the fact that this place actually has great food, amazing ambiance and super friendly service, you will definitely not go wrong. We always stop by Mystic Pizza whenever we visit the town and nothing has really changed throughout the years. My only recommendation would be to start introducing vegan cheese and meats.

I think most people know about this place because of that 1988 movie, Mystic Pizza. Personally, I haven't watched it yet lol. I still had to try the pizza and see what the hype was about. I've heard and read mixed reviews, but I like to judge places for myself. It's right in the heart of Mystic with a couple of tables outside. My family ordered a few slices. I had the pepperoni and cheese pizza. I really liked it! I'm a saucy person so I love extra sauce on my pizzas and that slice was definitely saucy. It's saucy, cheesy, and the pepperonis were perfectly crispy! I'm no pizza connoisseur but this pizza was 4.5 stars in my book.

I watched the movie when I was a little girl and I said that one day I would go there... today was the day! It was a unique experience and it was nostalgic to eat at a pizza place that still looks like the pizza places from the 80s and early 90s. Amazing customer service our waitress was so sweet. My son accidentally spilled his drink all over the table and she came right over help clean it up and didn't make a fuss about it. The garlic cheesy bread was probably my favorite item that I had today. The fried artichoke hearts were good as well. My Hawaiian pizza was OK. The pineapples on it taste different. It's not what I was used to, but the crust on the pizza was probably the best crust I've ever had. My son ordered a pizza burger and he was not a fan. My other son ordered a chicken sandwich and he loved it. My husband ordered the house Pizza and he liked it and he said the crust was amazing and he never eats crust. I'm so glad that we got there before the rush. We've driven past it before and we've seen lines outside and because I have a disability I prefer not to stand in lines for food so I was happy that I didn't have to stand in line. I also love that this place has a handicap bathroom separate from the men and women's bathroom, which is amazing. Overall it was a great experience and hopefully we can come back again on another day when it's not busy again.

    Do they have vegan cheese?

I am not able to provide an answer to that question.

    Is there wheelchair access?

The doors were wider. There are 2 levels. I'm struggling to recall if there were any steps to the front door. I do believe there was parking in back and a rear entry. I'm certain a call to the restaurant would clear all of that up instantly.

Is it waiter and waitress service or order at the counter and they will bring it to your table type of service?

    Waiter/waitress service :)

Is there gluten free pasta available?

There isn't any gluten free pasta options but there is a gluten free crust available.

    Can I bring my dog?

    No.

Is there gluten free options for Pizza?

Yes, they do offer a gluten free pizza crust option.

So is there vegan pizza here? Don't get our hopes up marking vegan options if you mean a salad or veggie burger

I'm not sure if I saw it I might of. However I'm sure if you ask they might be able to make it for you. I would call in advance and ask. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.

Ordering was very easy online, even though the prices seemed a bit high. We ordered $109 worth of food...Arancini ($16), garlic bread with cheese($16), Penne al Vodka with sautéed chicken($32), and the Alfredo with chicken cutlet($38). I was expecting a lot for prices like these. The Arancini were 5 pieces the size of golf balls and the flavor was ok, not worth $16, out garlic bread with cheese ($16) was left out of our order, the penne vodka with sautéed chicken ($32) was dry and there were 5 small pieces of chicken, and the baked penne chicken Alfredo had broken sauce, full of grease and almost inedible...I threw out most of it. I expected so much more from this establishment. The parking lot was packed and parking just to get takeout was challenging, but the food and prices were amazingly disappointing. We may try their pizza to see if that is any better, but I would not recommend the pasta dishes. I can see charging g prices like that if the pasta was homemade, but even that is a stretch. 3 stars is generous

The chips appeared to be homemade, and they were tremendous along with the salsa Verde and Macha. There was a nice kick to the salsas and a perfect crunch from the chips. However, it just felt like the dish was mostly chips. I felt like more toppings could be added or an additional egg. The fried egg was also a little overcooked, guess when ordering, we could have specified how we wanted it to be cooked. The doughnut was okay. The sourdough base was very solid, but essentially just a lot of cheese on top. I was not sure what to expect regarding this type of doughnut, but this was the least optimal choice. Will I go back? The two met in Cape Cod and eventually got married on White Crest Beach in Wellfleet. In July 2019, the couple opened their first restaurant, Whitecrest Eatery, at the Velvet Mill in Stonington. The historic building was originally home to the American Velvet Company, which operated from 1892 to 1996. Today it is a multipurpose building that is home to a thriving community of small businesses and artist studios. The American bistro with a weekly-changing menu soon won numerous awards and accolades. By 2024, the couple opened a new restaurant in the Velvet Mill. This time they would focus on artisanal wood-fired sourdough pizza as well as sandwiches, salads, and other delicious treats. Named for the "back door" of the Velvet Mill, the pizzeria soon won its own accolades. My sons and I recently had lunch at Back Door. I've visited the Velvet Mill numerous times, but this was my first visit since Back Door opened. After looking of the menu, we all decided to order and share the "Margherita" (fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato sauce, EVOO) and the "CBR" (house ranch, bacon, chicken, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, everything spice, lemon, dill). After ordering, we picked a table right by the pick-up window so we could watch the kitchen crew at work. Both pizzas had great crust that was crispy on the outside and yet chewy on the inside. The fresh ingredients gave the pies some rich flavors with a nice smoky finish. I really liked the "Margherita", but it was the topping combo on the "CBR" that left me really impressed. I washed everything down with a bottle of locally-produced Hosmer Mountain Birch Beer. We were all very happy with our lunch.
