Great location

We were staying at the Hilton Mystic across the street and ventured over for some after dinner drinks and dessert. The bartender Scott, was so friendly and attentive. My husband ordered the espresso martini which was delicious, and I had an amaretto sour which was so good. We had the brownie with crème brûlée sorbet. It was so good. The ambiance, location, staff and experience was top notch. Would def visit again.

This place was gorgeous! It has plenty of parking being right inside the village. The octopus was incredible! The oysters were very good too. The gnocchi with wild mushrooms was also excellent although I could've personally done without the pancetta. The drink was refreshing and the bartender Angel was exactly that.. an angel. The decor was beautiful. I'm already planning my next lunch/dinner there!!

This restaurant was on a list of best Italian restaurants in the country so we checked it out while in Mystic for the first time. The decor is really cute but I don't think this is one of the best Italian restaurants I've tried. The food was good but not amazing in my opinion. It's a bit pricey so not sure that I'd return since I wasn't wowed. I would consider trying again but it's not high on my list to return

What a fun and unexpected find! This place was so bright and welcoming but the food was even better than the ambiance! The garlic bread is a must and probably the best thing I've tried in a very long time. The pastas were fresh and indulgent (worth the calories)! The bartender was so kind and very helpful (we sat at a high top) with recommendations. I'm glad I live far away as I'd be here every day eating pasta

New England Corn Clam Chowder

Spent my Birthday Lunch in Mystic and chose this restaurant because prior reviews and I liked hoe the food looked. We ordered the Soup of the Day which was the New England Corn Clam Chowder which was very good and the corn is very fresh. I had the fettuccine at the recommendation as they had a menu change and didn't have the lobster ravioli. The dish was very creamy and delicious. The shrimp was very fresh and perfectly cooked. My wife had the ravioli and it was delicious. The filling very creamy and the pasta was perfectly al dente. The sauce was not overwhelming and paired with the dish so well. The Service is amazing. Server made sure our food came in right after we completed our soup and the salad of the day. The decor was beautiful definitely something I would recommend for a romantic night out.

Food was great. Garlic bread was divine, Brussels sprouts were delish, Caesar salad was light and zesty, etc. Pasta dishes were phenomenal and the house made quality came through 100%. Kids menu was appreciated! Service was top notch, from making the reservation over the phone to the moment we left. Our lovely server was friendly and clearly a seasoned expert. A different server ran after us with something we forgot and was genuinely happy to take a group photo for us. What no one there knew is that our group was very freshly missing someone; we were in town that day for a funeral. The experience and meal at Amalfi gave us a moment to breathe and relax, to feel served and be fed. Deeply appreciated.

Our group of six enjoyed a delicious dinner for my friend's bachelorette this evening! Our server was incredibly friendly and was so sweet to congratulate the bride to be. All of the food was delicious, and the homemade pasta was high-quality. The cocktails and even mocktail were just as incredible! If I had one critique, I wish the portion sizes had been a bit bigger to match the price. Besides that I would definitely come back, and I really fell in love with the vibe here!

Absolutely fantastic visit! We were in the area after attending TSO at Mohegan the night before and was looking for a lunch spot - saw that they not only offered fresh pasta, they actually don't give an option for anything else - LOVE IT! It was located in Old Mystic Village so we walked around for a bit before lunch - quaint little shopping area. Since it was Monday lunch, didn't feel the need to make a reservation but I'd think during dinner hours, it'd be best make some just in case. The restaurant is adorable and welcoming! Big beautiful bar before walking into the main dining area that is very modern and comforting. Our server, Drew was amazing! Super friendly, attentive and most accommodating. There was plenty of banter pertaining to certain genres of music that the mister shared common interests with him. Made for a fun lunch! But the food, oh the food. The best gnocchi we've ever had - just absolutely delicious and melts in your mouth with a tantalizing mushroom pecorino cream sauce. It was so good, I was contemplating ordering one to go. Rigatoni was good but after having the gnocchi - it was just ok lol. Chicken parm sandwich was very tasty, chicken was a bit on the smaller side for a sandwich but still very good and the sauce was excellent. There's a lemon theme in the restaurant, you'll find them all over the place - yes even with the wallpaper that adorns the bathroom walls, they're committed, lol. It's a bit of a hike but we would absolutely go back again even if not in the area and def ask to be seated in Drew's area - he was the epitome of great service and just all around good human being! Can't wait to go back!!

I wandered in here on a hot day as I was shopping in Old Mystic Village. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad to go. didn't realize it was happy hour. So I ordered 1/2 doz yummy oysters, a glass of delicious Italian red wine. The ambience is casual with beautiful decor. The bartender couldn't be more accommodating. I wish I had stumbled across this place sooner. the menu is ridiculous. Happy hour is 3-5:30pm. Totally worth it! I look forward to going home to eat my salad.

Came here yesterday for the first time and just walking in you feel like you're on vacation. It's stunningly beautiful and the Italian lemon theme is so gorgeously done throughout the whole place. The service was 5 STARS! Friendly, attentive, wonderful. The food was delish- that garlic bread was soooooo good. We've never had a cheese sauce served with garlic bread so that was such a delicious surprise! I got the ravioli which was amazing- the sundried tomato oil was so good my mouth is watering thinking of that now. We also tried the shrimp fettuccine which was lemony and tasty. The pea gnocchi was good (could have used a smidge of salt though) but overall we LOVED this place and cannot wait to come back on our next visit. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Great ambiance with authentic italian food! Service was attentive and quick! Handmade pasta was just like what I remembered in my old travels to the Almalfi Coast! Highly recommend!

Pretty restaurant on the edge of Mystic Village, but the food was terrible. The pasta was undercooked and chalky. Cold cheese in the middle of the ravioli, not sure if it was from them never being fully cooked or from sitting too long. The pasta sauce was all onion. Server brought out 3 huge tubs of oysters that were never ordered. Definitely going on the skip list from here on out.

Garlic bread

In the heart of Old Mystic Village, Trattoria is a treat. Loved the beautiful vibe and decor. Laid back but elegant. The garlic bread and four cheese dip was amazing. Oysters were also fresh and great. I felt the freshness of the pasta and appreciated the roasted garlic flavors though I felt something was missing. Scallops were decent as well though I've had better. Overall great place with attentive service even though they are busy.

The two pieces of braciole that takes just a minute to Eat for $30. A proper sized meal for this price would include at least 5 of these.

Ordering was very easy online, even though the prices seemed a bit high. We ordered $109 worth of food...Arancini ($16), garlic bread with cheese($16), Penne al Vodka with sautéed chicken($32), and the Alfredo with chicken cutlet($38). I was expecting a lot for prices like these. The Arancini were 5 pieces the size of golf balls and the flavor was ok, not worth $16, out garlic bread with cheese ($16) was left out of our order, the penne vodka with sautéed chicken ($32) was dry and there were 5 small pieces of chicken, and the baked penne chicken Alfredo had broken sauce, full of grease and almost inedible...I threw out most of it. I expected so much more from this establishment. The parking lot was packed and parking just to get takeout was challenging, but the food and prices were amazingly disappointing. We may try their pizza to see if that is any better, but I would not recommend the pasta dishes. I can see charging g prices like that if the pasta was homemade, but even that is a stretch. 3 stars is generous

We were seated at a lovely table for two overlooking Main Street - watching people stroll by from that elevated perch behind glass felt almost cinematic. The real star of the show was the food, which is ultimately what you're there for, and it delivered. The menu offers plenty of options without being overwhelming. I started with the Crispy Pig's Head as an appetizer - a bold choice that turned out to be outstanding. For my entrée, the bucatini with seacoast mushrooms, sherry, parmesan, mushroom cream, and fine herbs was perfectly cooked, and carried a subtle but deeply flavorful sauce. And the housemade sourdough with poblano honey butter? Absolutely outstanding. To be fair, our server took a little time to warm up but found their footing and gave us everything we needed. Parking in Mystic on a busy weekend night can also be a challenge and expensive. Neither is reason enough to skip this one. Ship Wright's Daughter is exactly the kind of restaurant Mystic deserves. The regular menu looked creative and appetizing as well. I had their daily oyster ($1.50 each), mussels ($10), and their cutie smash burger ($9). The oysters were from sixpenny on the day I attended. They were fresh and went down smoothly. The mignonette that was served with it was interesting. It seemed to have some sort of orange juice incorporated, but who knows. It was not bad. I preferred the cocktail sauce and horseradish provided. The mussels came in a coconut lemongrass broth with chili, cilantro, and lime. These were some of the freshest mussels I had in a while. It was noticeable to me from the feel and taste. The coconut lemongrass broth was a nice compliment and very flavorful. The burger was a quarter pound smash patty with cheddar cheese, umami mayo, lettuce, pickles, and white onion. This was cooked ideally to a medium-medium rare temperature. The bread was the key as it held the toppings and was of good ratio. The pickle was nicely folded and placed where it was not hanging off the burger. It was a little sweet, but not a big deal. Will I go back? Definitely.

Since this place had a tie in with the movie Mystic Pizza, they had the movie running in the place which was really nice. However, I never saw the movie and neither of my group did either. Just to be fair in this review, My group had already had been seated and ordered by the time I came in. Parking is a bear. I found the atmosphere very comforting with families having a great time talking and enjoying meals. Their was a line for people to get in which is always a good sign. My table had ordered pizza, wings, drinks. Since I came late I ordered a Salad and a bowl of clam chowder. When the pizza came it was a good size pizza one was a meat lovers and the other was pepperoni. By the time I got my order they had almost killed the first pizza and the meat lovers was going down for the count. I was able to get two slices but I had to hit it quick. The pizza was a work of art. Rich thick flavor sauce that you can tell was freshly made with home ingredients that made me think they actually pick up the vegetables that very second to make this fresh hot pizza. The bite on the slice was juicy but not oily like some pizza. My only negative was that I could not get another slice to save my life. My salad was a Caesar Salad that was so big. I shared it with my wife and sister in law. They enjoyed it. that bowl it came it was almost as big as the table. We were having an issue because the pizza's and the other dishes we had ordered made space on the table very limited. My star of my meal was the Clam Chowder. OMG. This one was the best Chowder I have ever had outside of Fisherman's Warf in San Francisco. Rich and thick. Spot on. I only wish they served it in a bread bowl like on the docks in Frisco. S & P Oyster Restaurant and Bar is a very charming and picturesque restaurant sitting on the Mystic River with indoor and outdoor seating, and photographic views of the Mystic River. Each employee is very attentive to your needs, and everyone works together as a team to assure each patron is getting quality service and a great experience. We were greeted at the entrance by the Hostess and promptly shown to a table overlooking the Mystic River. Next we were greeted by Evelina our server. She handed us menus and the daily specials and took our drink order. Upon her return to our table she went over the daily specials asked if we had any questions and if we knew what we wanted or if we needed more time. We both ordered unsweetened ice teas as we had a 2 hour drive back home. My wife and I both enjoyed a delicious bowl of New England Clam Chowder. It was creamy, rich and chock full of clams and not that pasty style you get in so many places. I ordered 6 oysters on the half shell along with 6 littlenecks on the half shell. They were very fresh, plump, juicy and tasted like the sea. I can live off these 2 mollusks. My wife ordered a Harvest Grain Bowl. It was loaded with crispy Brussel sprouts, butternut squash, roasted chickpeas, red onions, heirloom carrots, arugula, dried cranberries, toasted almonds, farro, with an apple cider vinaigrette. She loved it!!! Me being a seafood nut ordered Seafood Ambrosia. YUM, YUM & YUM!!!. I sure wish they hadn't because the lump crab dip was delicious but the replacement was spinach and artichoke dip. The artichokes were not blended they were chunks and it was not in a creamy sauce but dry with shredded Parmesan cheese over the top. It was awful. I didn't even eat it. I also ordered the crab cake which wasn't good. Last time I had the crab cake, it was made with chuncks of crabmeat. This time it was shredded crabmeat and a lot of breadcrumbs. My son's girlfriend and my husband both ordered mussels and they each said they were okay. My husband also ordered what we call a crab imperial dish containing different kinds of shellfish, bread crumbs, cream sauce and cheese. Our son ordered a crispy fried chicken sandwich and he said it was delicious. I tried it and it was so good. The chicken was fried light and with tasty Chilean sauce on it.
