The decor is gorgeous, blending Mediterranean-inspired blue tiling with warm mustard seating and rustic wood accents. The lighting is soft and inviting, and the layout feels spacious yet intimate. I love the mix of the rustic whitewashed wood front and the intricate tile work. The tiered ice display filled with Limoncello and fresh lemons adds such a fun, refreshing touch, and the giant floral centerpiece is stunning. It's a bright, lively spot that's perfect for grabbing a drink.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you prefer dining al fresco, there's a patio and the porch space has a fantastic atmosphere. It feels bright and cheerful thanks to the lively pink flower baskets and the bold blue outdoor furniture. Because the deck is fully covered, you get plenty of shade while still being right next to the walkway. It's a very cute, well-maintained exterior that adds to the overall appeal of the place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service here is awesome! Our waitress was incredibly sweet and hospitable, and she completely understood that we were on a tight schedule with a bus tour. She did an amazing job of being attentive and accommodating without ever making us feel rushed. The food rolled out in perfectly timed layers, and she even offered to refresh our drinks before we could even ask. I initially thought the garlic bread was a bit pricey but was totally worth $12. The focaccia bread was nicely toasted and seasoned with herb butter and four cheese fonduta. Next was the fried calamari with cherry and banana peppers. The calamari was delicious, seasoned perfectly and was a combination of rings and tentacles. Those who enjoy banana peppers might enjoy that they are lightly fried too resemble the calamari, however I'm not the biggest fan and probably should have asked them to hold them. With them being breaded the same as the calamari is difficult to tell them a part so when your taste buds are gearing up for a bite of calamari and instead you bite into a pepper or can be slightly disappointing. For $19 I would prefer more calamari and less peppers. The salads are very good here too. The Roasted Garlic Caesar features a classic Caesar dressing enhanced with a bright hint of lemon and topped with crunchy breadcrumbs. I added salmon as my protein choice, which was cooked beautifully and paired perfectly with the savory, garlicky flavor profile of the salad. This made for a filling and flavorful meal. Tagliatelle - Outstanding homemade pasta and sauce. The tender, shredded short rib ragu is perfectly tossed with fresh noodles. It has an ideal noodle-to-sauce ratio and avoids being overly rich or heavy. A deeply comforting, cohesive dish topped beautifully with parmigiana. Also enjoyed the lobster roll which was served warm with butter on a perfectly toasted brioche bun, accompanied by a side of fries. The rich, melted butter beautifully complemented the sweet lobster meat, and the brioche added a wonderful touch of sweetness and crunch. Really glad that my bus tour stopped here. This was my second time visiting this restaurant, and unfortunately, I'm still not impressed with the food. It could have been seasoned much better, and I'd give it a 4 out of 10. While the atmosphere was great, the food simply didn't meet my expectations either time I've visited. The service from Trinity tonight was amazing! She was very knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. She truly made the experience enjoyable. Over the weekend, my mother and I attended the Strawberry Festival and decided to try this restaurant afterward. Although we are both local--my mother resides in Connecticut and I am from New York City--we had not dined here before and were looking forward to a pleasant meal. The calamari consisted mostly of burnt tentacles and banana peppers, with very little substance or balance. The chicken parmigiana sandwich was also unacceptable. The chicken was dry, overcooked, burnt, and hard, and the bread tasted stale. It is always disappointing when the atmosphere and service show promise, but the food fails so badly. I truly wanted to enjoy the experience, especially after a nice day out with my mother, but based on the quality of the meal and the excessive wait time, this visit was not worth it. read more

Scallops were small and overpriced, baked cod was dry and bland. Oysters were much smaller then other restaurants. Meatballs were horrible, sour taste - almost like bad meat. What a fun and unexpected find! Spent my Birthday Lunch in Mystic and chose this restaurant because prior reviews and I liked hoe the food looked. We ordered the Soup of the Day which was the New England Corn Clam Chowder which was very good and the corn is very fresh. I had the fettuccine at the recommendation as they had a menu change and didn't have the lobster ravioli. The dish was very creamy and delicious. The shrimp was very fresh and perfectly cooked. My wife had the ravioli and it was delicious. The filling very creamy and the pasta was perfectly al dente. The sauce was not overwhelming and paired with the dish so well. The Service is amazing. Server made sure our food came in right after we completed our soup and the salad of the day. The decor was beautiful definitely something I would recommend for a romantic night out. read more

Plenty of parking is a plus. [[HIGHLIGHT]]At this recent visit we were seated in a booth where there was barely enough room between the table and bench seat to scoot over to the let everyone in, and none of our group is overweight![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Salads were ok and calamari was good, although their riff on it is to also bread and fry the banana peppers which nullifies balancing acidity with the fried food. Two rigatonis were ok but uninspired, the pasta with clam sauce was deemed delicious but no bread to sop up the half cup of sauce remaining in the bowl, the roasted chicken special was bland but cooked properly but some of the side asparagus was inedible stem bottoms that should have gone into the compost. The sixth dish of chicken picatta was an overcooked, almost burnt breaded cutlet slab with a container of the sauce on the side. When the dish was returned as inedible and mis-labeled the waitress said this is their "version" of chicken picatta. This "version" has nothing in common with a true chicken picatta. Why do restaurants feel the need to mess with classic dishes? The desserts were ok. Generous portions of ricotta cheesecake were dense and could benefit from some berries rather than whipped cream. Espressos were good. The one thing that was truly delicious and perfect was the bottle of Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc we all enjoyed. We don't think we will return as there are other fine restaurants at this price point with better food. read more

We stopped off for an afternoon lunch on a busy Saturday because there was a kids menu available. We ordered a lobster roll to share, fried calamari appetizer, and some raw clams and oysters. The oysters were delicious but small. The clams we did not prefer in flavor unfortunately and tasted way too much like the ocean. The calamari was overcooked and too crunchy and crispy, we could not tell the difference between the breading or calamari. My kids enjoyed their grilled cheese and fries. The fries were probably the only part of the meal we enjoyed aside from the oysters. The lobster roll was a little lacking in flavor and almost a little dry in my opinion but they did give a serving of butter to pour on top which helped. Overall, this Italian spot is probably fine for a quick lunch and convenience but don't expect too much. read more

Was shocked when ordering takeout by the same portions when we opened our pasta dishes. Prices near $30 and the to go containers had only a very small portion of each in them...embarrassingly little. This was a complete shock after eating there and that not being the case at all. Why does takeout mean what feels more like rip off? Sad. I don't think it's a sustainable business model, especially as local businesses rely on locals to carry them through these tougher off season months. And pasta with some shrimp or beef don't seem like extravagant dishes. read more

We were in the area after attending TSO at Mohegan the night before and was looking for a lunch spot - saw that they not only offered fresh pasta, they actually don't give an option for anything else - LOVE IT! The best gnocchi we've ever had - just absolutely delicious and melts in your mouth with a tantalizing mushroom pecorino cream sauce. It was so good, I was contemplating ordering one to go. Rigatoni was good but after having the gnocchi - it was just ok lol. Chicken parm sandwich was very tasty, chicken was a bit on the smaller side for a sandwich but still very good and the sauce was excellent. I wandered in here on a hot day as I was shopping in Old Mystic Village. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad to go. didn't realize it was happy hour. So I ordered 1/2 doz yummy oysters, a glass of delicious Italian red wine. The ambience is casual with beautiful decor. The bartender couldn't be more accommodating. Came here yesterday for the first time and just walking in you feel like you're on vacation. It's stunningly beautiful and the Italian lemon theme is so gorgeously done throughout the whole place. The service was 5 STARS! Friendly, attentive, wonderful. The food was delish- that garlic bread was soooooo good. We've never had a cheese sauce served with garlic bread so that was such a delicious surprise! That was very strange in itself, but what was really unpleasant was how incredibly tough and snappy the eggplant was. It was difficult to cut with the edge of the fork and stringy in the mouth. I'm an Italian cook. I know Italian food. What we were served was too much of what I would call a "now" interpretation. Not for me. I have seen other people review the eggplant parm and also say that it was tough. Stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for an afternoon snack. Located in Mystic Village, I was able to walk to the restaurant from my hotel. The bartender, Amanda. Was extremely friendly. She paid attention to everyone and anticipated needs. I ordered the steak tartare and it was very good. It came with shaved Parmesan and a salad with lemon dressing. If there is a Hell, this restaurant will provide it's soundtrack. When you pay over $150 for a two person meal it should post scores between 7 and 9, This petite adventure scored only 4 to 5. They had some beautiful pink, hanging Dipladenia flowers in baskets all along the patio. For my drink I got the Limoncello Spritz. This didn't look like any type of Limoncello I've ever seen. It looked like orange soda. It was super, super sweet, it wasn't lemony, or citrusy at all. I should have sent it back, but I didn't. For my meal I got the Burrata off the appetizer menu. This was pretty simple, but very light and tasty! The base was avocado crema, topped with corn and colorful tomatoes. Then with a ball of burrata cheese on top. It also came with some toast. I've been so into burrata lately, this one didn't disappoint. We also got some garlic bread to share. This garlic bread was soft, and came with some good dipping options.
