This was one of the stops on a bus trip that I recently took. It's right off Coogan Blvd in the Mystic Knotwork area. I Absolutely loved the aesthetic of this restaurant! The decor is gorgeous, blending Mediterranean-inspired blue tiling with warm mustard seating and rustic wood accents. The lighting is soft and inviting, and the layout feels spacious yet intimate. It's a beautifully designed space that sets the perfect mood for a great meal. The bar area is beautiful and full of character! I love the mix of the rustic whitewashed wood front and the intricate tile work. The tiered ice display filled with Limoncello and fresh lemons adds such a fun, refreshing touch, and the giant floral centerpiece is stunning. It's a bright, lively spot that's perfect for grabbing a drink. If you prefer dining al fresco, there's a patio and the porch space has a fantastic atmosphere. It feels bright and cheerful thanks to the lively pink flower baskets and the bold blue outdoor furniture. Because the deck is fully covered, you get plenty of shade while still being right next to the walkway. It's a very cute, well-maintained exterior that adds to the overall appeal of the place. The service here is awesome! Our waitress was incredibly sweet and hospitable, and she completely understood that we were on a tight schedule with a bus tour. She did an amazing job of being attentive and accommodating without ever making us feel rushed. The food rolled out in perfectly timed layers, and she even offered to refresh our drinks before we could even ask. I initially thought the garlic bread was a bit pricey but was totally worth $12. The focaccia bread was nicely toasted and seasoned with herb butter and four cheese fonduta. Next was the fried calamari with cherry and banana peppers. The calamari was delicious, seasoned perfectly and was a combination of rings and tentacles. Those who enjoy banana peppers might enjoy that they are lightly fried too resemble the calamari, however I'm not the biggest fan and probably should have asked them to hold them. With them being breaded the same as the calamari is difficult to tell them a part so when your taste buds are gearing up for a bite of calamari and instead you bite into a pepper or can be slightly disappointing. For $19 I would prefer more calamari and less peppers. The salads are very good here too. The Roasted Garlic Caesar features a classic Caesar dressing enhanced with a bright hint of lemon and topped with crunchy breadcrumbs. I added salmon as my protein choice, which was cooked beautifully and paired perfectly with the savory, garlicky flavor profile of the salad. This made for a filling and flavorful meal. Tagliatelle - Outstanding homemade pasta and sauce. The tender, shredded short rib ragu is perfectly tossed with fresh noodles. It has an ideal noodle-to-sauce ratio and avoids being overly rich or heavy. A deeply comforting, cohesive dish topped beautifully with parmigiana. Also enjoyed the lobster roll which was served warm with butter on a perfectly toasted brioche bun, accompanied by a side of fries. The rich, melted butter beautifully complemented the sweet lobster meat, and the brioche added a wonderful touch of sweetness and crunch. Really glad that my bus tour stopped here. This was my second time visiting this restaurant, and unfortunately, I'm still not impressed with the food. It could have been seasoned much better, and I'd give it a 4 out of 10. While the atmosphere was great, the food simply didn't meet my expectations either time I've visited. The service from Trinity tonight was amazing! She was very knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. She truly made the experience enjoyable. Over the weekend, my mother and I attended the Strawberry Festival and decided to try this restaurant afterward. Although we are both local--my mother resides in Connecticut and I am from New York City--we had not dined here before and were looking forward to a pleasant meal. The ambiance was nice, and I will say that both the hostess and our waitress were pleasant and professional. Unfortunately, the food itself was extremely disappointing. We ordered the crispy calamari and the chicken parmigiana sandwich. After waiting over an hour for our meal, the food arrived far below expectation. The calamari consisted mostly of burnt tentacles and banana peppers, with very little substance or balance. The chicken parmigiana sandwich was also unacceptable. The chicken was dry, overcooked, burnt, and hard, and the bread tasted stale. It is always disappointing when the atmosphere and service show promise, but the food fails so badly. I truly wanted to enjoy the experience, especially after a nice day out with my mother, but based on the quality of the meal and the excessive wait time, this visit was not worth it. read more

My husband ordered the espresso martini which was delicious, and I had an amaretto sour which was so good. We had the brownie with crème brûlée sorbet. It was so good. The gnocchi with wild mushrooms was also excellent although I could've personally done without the pancetta. The drink was refreshing and the bartender Angel was exactly that.. an angel. Spent my Birthday Lunch in Mystic and chose this restaurant because prior reviews and I liked hoe the food looked. We ordered the Soup of the Day which was the New England Corn Clam Chowder which was very good and the corn is very fresh. I had the fettuccine at the recommendation as they had a menu change and didn't have the lobster ravioli. The dish was very creamy and delicious. The shrimp was very fresh and perfectly cooked. My wife had the ravioli and it was delicious. The filling very creamy and the pasta was perfectly al dente. The sauce was not overwhelming and paired with the dish so well. The Service is amazing. Server made sure our food came in right after we completed our soup and the salad of the day. The decor was beautiful definitely something I would recommend for a romantic night out. read more

We stopped off for an afternoon lunch on a busy Saturday because there was a kids menu available. We ordered a lobster roll to share, fried calamari appetizer, and some raw clams and oysters. The oysters were delicious but small. The clams we did not prefer in flavor unfortunately and tasted way too much like the ocean. The calamari was overcooked and too crunchy and crispy, we could not tell the difference between the breading or calamari. My kids enjoyed their grilled cheese and fries. The fries were probably the only part of the meal we enjoyed aside from the oysters. The lobster roll was a little lacking in flavor and almost a little dry in my opinion but they did give a serving of butter to pour on top which helped. Overall, this Italian spot is probably fine for a quick lunch and convenience but don't expect too much. read more

Despite the special Mother's Day menu, every dish was exceptional. We particularly enjoyed the prosecco, the Insalata di Primavera, the tuna tartare, and your fantastic garlic bread. For our main courses, the salmon was seasoned and cooked to perfection, and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the Eggplant Parmigiana. Kids menu was appreciated! Service was top notch, from making the reservation over the phone to the moment we left. Our lovely server was friendly and clearly a seasoned expert. A different server ran after us with something we forgot and was genuinely happy to take a group photo for us. What no one there knew is that our group was very freshly missing someone; we were in town that day for a funeral. Was shocked when ordering takeout by the same portions when we opened our pasta dishes. Prices near $30 and the to go containers had only a very small portion of each in them...embarrassingly little. This was a complete shock after eating there and that not being the case at all. Why does takeout mean what feels more like rip off? Sad. I don't think it's a sustainable business model, especially as local businesses rely on locals to carry them through these tougher off season months. And pasta with some shrimp or beef don't seem like extravagant dishes. read more

We were in the area after attending TSO at Mohegan the night before and was looking for a lunch spot - saw that they not only offered fresh pasta, they actually don't give an option for anything else - LOVE IT! There was plenty of banter pertaining to certain genres of music that the mister shared common interests with him. Made for a fun lunch! But the food, oh the food. The best gnocchi we've ever had - just absolutely delicious and melts in your mouth with a tantalizing mushroom pecorino cream sauce. It was so good, I was contemplating ordering one to go. Rigatoni was good but after having the gnocchi - it was just ok lol. Chicken parm sandwich was very tasty, chicken was a bit on the smaller side for a sandwich but still very good and the sauce was excellent. I wandered in here on a hot day as I was shopping in Old Mystic Village. I ordered a chicken Caesar salad to go. didn't realize it was happy hour. So I ordered 1/2 doz yummy oysters, a glass of delicious Italian red wine. The ambience is casual with beautiful decor. The bartender couldn't be more accommodating. Came here yesterday for the first time and just walking in you feel like you're on vacation. It's stunningly beautiful and the Italian lemon theme is so gorgeously done throughout the whole place. The service was 5 STARS! Friendly, attentive, wonderful. The food was delish- that garlic bread was soooooo good. We've never had a cheese sauce served with garlic bread so that was such a delicious surprise! I got the ravioli which was amazing- the sundried tomato oil was so good my mouth is watering thinking of that now. We also tried the shrimp fettuccine which was lemony and tasty. Cold cheese in the middle of the ravioli, not sure if it was from them never being fully cooked or from sitting too long. The pasta sauce was all onion. The restaurant is very elegant and modern. The staff is nice although they seem to be quite young for a setting of this nature. Our dinners were not up to par with the prices. They are an interpretation of Italian cuisine however the two dinners we sampled completely missed the mark. I ordered the braciole and my spouse ordered the eggplant parm. The braciole was well prepared, however the portion size was extremely small for The price of $30. I literally ate my entire meal within 1-1/2 minutes. The eggplant parm was served with an arugula salad plopped on top of the entree. That was very strange in itself, but what was really unpleasant was how incredibly tough and snappy the eggplant was. It was difficult to cut with the edge of the fork and stringy in the mouth. I'm an Italian cook. I know Italian food. What we were served was too much of what I would call a "now" interpretation. Not for me. I have seen other people review the eggplant parm and also say that it was tough. In some instances a representative of this restaurant would respond to these comments saying that the reviewer had the wrong restaurant because they don't serve eggplant. Second visit, still amazing bread, still inattentive service but the food went downhill. The Brussel sprouts appetizer tasted burnt. (It was a favorite on the first visit.) Stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for an afternoon snack. Located in Mystic Village, I was able to walk to the restaurant from my hotel. The bartender, Amanda. Was extremely friendly. She paid attention to everyone and anticipated needs. I ordered the steak tartare and it was very good. It came with shaved Parmesan and a salad with lemon dressing. I've had a lot of steak tartare and this was completely on par with a great one. I wish I could have come back later some dessert but I will be sure to return next time I'm in the area. read more

Where do I start? Pros: 1) Our waitress she was peak, 2) My Grey Sail DIPA, 3) My wife's cocktail, 4) The shared Caprese Salad. Cons: 1) The host was a rude bastard who seated us in the shittiest table after speaking rudely to my wife (a great way to start the evening), 2) $8 offered garlic bread, 3) my linguini, while it was reasonably prepared, it was a child's portion at best, 4) my wife's Pork Milanese was diner quality at best and barely a threadbare stitch above the Navy's stuffed veal (dry and leathery should not be descriptors to strive for), 5) my affagato was again a child's portion, and "meh" in both presentation and flavor, 6) my wife's Creme Brulee was supposed to be a "salted caramel," but the adjective "hint" was missing from it's description, as neither was present in a reasonable quantity. 7) the style and ambiance was mostly, "drop ceilings are really cool, right?" 7) the God awful "muzac." If there is a Hell, this restaurant will provide it's soundtrack. Think Nicholas Cage screaming, "the bees!" In summary, if you have an alternative restaurant available, go there instead. When you pay over $150 for a two person meal it should post scores between 7 and 9, This petite adventure scored only 4 to 5. If the waitress was not so pleasant it would have dropped to a 2 to 3. read more

They offered great recommendations and insight about the menu. They had some beautiful pink, hanging Dipladenia flowers in baskets all along the patio. For my drink I got the Limoncello Spritz. This didn't look like any type of Limoncello I've ever seen. It looked like orange soda. It was super, super sweet, it wasn't lemony, or citrusy at all. I should have sent it back, but I didn't. For my meal I got the Burrata off the appetizer menu. This was pretty simple, but very light and tasty! The base was avocado crema, topped with corn and colorful tomatoes. Then with a ball of burrata cheese on top. It also came with some toast. I've been so into burrata lately, this one didn't disappoint. We also got some garlic bread to share. This garlic bread was soft, and came with some good dipping options. Others in my party got the Calamari and the Stake Tar Tar. We had a nice time sitting outside on their sunny patio. We enjoyed everything, except for my Limoncello Spritz. read more

This is such an improvement over Go Fish.... and so much better than Andiamo. The pasta is fresh, the sauces and protein pairings are well thought out, and has a nice spread of non-pasta dishes. The decor inside is comfortable and probably the most contemporary from a design standpoint in the area. And I can't rave enough about the service- they're very attentive and driven to ensure you have a great experience. However, the price point is steep for the area and would be my only moment for pause when considering Amalfi for more than an occasional visit. read more

Recently enjoyed dinner here for a 30th bday. It was very spacious inside with comfortable seating and an adorable ambiance. It took me to Italy without leaving quaint little Mystic, CT. Definitely a great addition to the shops! Our waitress was sweet and patient; we had a relatively big party and as it was our first time here couldn't decide between the mouthwatering options on the menu. We started with some apps and drinks, based off of her suggestion and they did NOT disappoint. I normally don't go for fried apps because I find they're too oily and not satisfying but the fried zucchini...out of this world. It was flavorful, not greasy at all and dipped in the garlic aioli I could have made a meal out of just that! The garlic bread was similar-not greasy and just delicious. We also got a Caprese salad-a staple when on the menu. My cousin and I are both expecting, so we had the blood orangina; it was very refreshing and actually was so nice because I've been having heartburn with everything -the ginger beer in this drink really assisted in allowing me to enjoy this meal and not be in pain afterwards. #preggoprobs Next came entrees.
