Had one of the nicest, tastiest, most authentic Greek dining experiences last night for my sisters birthday. We walked in and immediately knew we were in the right place. It felt Greek, it looked Greek. It tasted Greek. And our server Maria was amazing. She really took pride in her job and made sure we were all happy even as the dinner rush was happening. The food was excellent. The Branzino was delicious and the shrimp skewer was great. The fido birthday cake was fabulous too. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely check it out. read more

This is now our go to Greek restaurant. It is owned and operated by Greek folk, the staff is Greek, and the chef is Greek and it shows. The food is wonderful. The atmosphere is great. The servings are so generous. The dip platter was delicious and hearty. The lemon chicken was tasty with fresh lemon and oregano seasoning and moist. The roasted potatoes were soft and nicely browned. The gyro hit the spot. The tzatziki is nicely garlicky but not overly so. The lettuce and tomato were crisp and fresh. Really good food and I liked the ambiance as well, almost shocking it's in Cliffside park which is why the prices are better I guess. The octopus is one of the best I've had recently, perfectly soft and ever so lightly chewy making the best cooked I've had till date. Greek salad very flavorful as well, well balanced and fresh fresh tomatoes they were. I wasn't a fan of the saganaki shrimp especially with that price but my friend really liked its dish - shrimp butter and cheese, mozzarella maybe and tomato sauce. But all in all enjoyable evening and will come back for the food. Parking is painful since they only have a handful of spots. Just to note and the miss from being perfect is why I have it at 4 stars but I'll update my review if anything changes. read more

Insanely generous portions and thankfully the food arrived piping hot. The souvlaki was well made, tender and all around tasty. No complaints about the accompanying items and the fresh tasting tsatsiki sauce. All around the the experience was solid and it was a far above average delivery order. Ordered the lamb souvlaki platter. Lamb was poorly seasoned/quite bland and also very dry/chewy. It didn't really taste like there was much if any salt or seasoning and kind of tasted gamey compared to other lamb I've had in the past. The fries that the platter came with were decent but did have a bit of a rancid oil after taste. Seasoning on-top was good and they were crispy. Portion size was good/generous. Yogurt sauce was good. All in all for $22 I was hoping the lamb would have been better and it's a bit overly priced for what you're getting. Not sure if it was because it was later in the evening when I ordered but that shouldn't deter from taste. Overall 2 stars since main entree (lamb) was lacking any flavor or salt and was dry, plus fries tasted like they were fried in old oil. read more

Mythos is an amazing restaurant/cafe situated in a quiet section of Cliffside Park in a small strip mall. In other parts of the country, strip malls are a prime place to find ethnic restaurants with wonderful food, hospitality and fair prices. This is your gem to discover. It is bright and cheerfully decorated in true Meditteranean style. The menu board lists all the extremely fresh grilled fish offered including orata, dorado, branzino and fried anchovies (without bones). The owner noted that the fried anchovies were like french fries. Spot on description. Our party had one one of the dips (taramasolata) with hot pita and the Greek sausage appetizer. Enough for four each. Two of us ordered fish (mine was deboned beautifully) while our third went for the lamb gyro (the lamb was seasoned to a T). The Greek fries and rice pilaf were fresh and delish. We were full (and have the doggy bags to prove it) but we needed to sample a dessert along with Greek coffee. The baklava was served warm with crisp phyllo and golden honey and walnuts. It's easy to converse with the soft Greek music playing. Even with two glasses of wine, the cost of our supper was half of what it would be in Fort Lee. We will be returning read more

We decided to take a ride to give Mythos a try and boy am I glad we did. We sat outside on a beautiful night under the trellis that was decorated beautifully. Not ever having Greek food before we were excited to try it. We got a little help from Steve and the staff on what to order. We had the grilled octopus that was unreal. Tender and flavorful with grilled veggies around it. We also had shrimp with melted cheese in a light tomato sauce that was delicious and actually tasted like lobster. For dinner sandra had the Greek lasagna with salad. Fantastic flavor. I had the seafood orzo that was packed with calamari shrimp and octopus. All cooked to perfection and tender as can be. Susie had the Greek Meatballs that she loved. Everything we had was fantastic. The service was friendly and prompt they actually made you feel like you were family. The prices are extremely reasonable for quality and quantity of food. The other patrons sitting around us were also very nice and talkative. We actually all talked a bit and kidded around. First, let me say this score and review is based solely on a single visit for lunch. I'm not familiar with this area, but I've eaten at the Clifton location of It's Greek To Me, so felt I knew what to expect, and I wasn't disappointed. I went with the $11.95 Gyro sandwich lunch special, which came with Greek Fries. The gyro was perfectly serviceable; although I found the meat to be overly salty for my taste. The tzatziki sauce was very good. It tasted homemade; with lots of cucumber and dill. The "Greek Fries" were forgettable. I don't know why they're called "Greek" fries. Maybe they shake some oregano over them. They were batter coated fast food fries; which I'm not a fan of. The service was both friendly and attentive. This was my first time having Greek food, I was a bit skeptical at first and wow was I amazed it was entirely delicious. Everything tasted so fresh. It was my first time having a gyro and it was completely out of this world. Calamari was outstanding. I have to say one of the best I've ever had. Don't get me started on the fries they were just as delicious. The rest of my table even said that it was the best Greek food they have ever had!
