Food is delicious! Wish the gyros/pitas came with a side for dinner. Lovely dining area and quick pick-up. This place is not under new ownership- I did ask directly. They confirmed it's the same owners - that I was glad to hear. I don't eat here as often because the price is a bit high compared to other places, but the quality is worth it!

This is now our go to Greek restaurant. It is owned and operated by Greek folk, the staff is Greek, and the chef is Greek and it shows. The food is wonderful. The atmosphere is great. The servings are so generous. The dip platter was delicious and hearty. The lemon chicken was tasty with fresh lemon and oregano seasoning and moist. The roasted potatoes were soft and nicely browned. The gyro hit the spot. The tzatziki is nicely garlicky but not overly so. The lettuce and tomato were crisp and fresh. The lamb chop over the orzo was terrific. Not only huge but cooked well and the sauce was a wonderful tomato based sauce. We love this restaurant

This place a was a great random stop for dinner! Food was tasty and the service was great. There are a few options for seating but we chose to sit inside at a larger table. The staff are very friendly and I will be returning.

Gyro Pita (Takeout) - $13.24 (tax included)

Came here for lunch with a friend. My friend suggested this place and I am always down for a gyro so I was looking forward to this place. Ended up getting the gyro pita ($13.24 tax included) for takeout. The gyro was fresh and not greasy, very tasty. Solid gyro. Tzatziki sauce was solid as well. If you're in the mood for gyros and in the area, I would recommend this spot. * Parking on premise

Really good food and I liked the ambiance as well, almost shocking it's in Cliffside park which is why the prices are better I guess. The octopus is one of the best I've had recently, perfectly soft and ever so lightly chewy making the best cooked I've had till date. Greek salad very flavorful as well, well balanced and fresh fresh tomatoes they were. I wasn't a fan of the saganaki shrimp especially with that price but my friend really liked its dish - shrimp butter and cheese, mozzarella maybe and tomato sauce. But all in all enjoyable evening and will come back for the food. Parking is painful since they only have a handful of spots. Just to note and the miss from being perfect is why I have it at 4 stars but I'll update my review if anything changes.

THE FOOD ----------------…read more+ Hummus Dip - Came with a nice amount of pita chips and it was good. Dip was very fresh, tasty and smooth. + Grilled Chicken Wings - Wings were perfectly cooked, a little charred and the roasted pepper aioli sauce had a slight kick, but it was excellent. + Short Rib Sliders - 2 sliders in the order. Sliders were good. Brioche was puffy. Short rib was tender and not dry. + Octopus - Phenomenal! The sliced octopus pieces sat on slices of roasted potatoes and the octopus was soooooo tender and delicious. Definitely could have used more. + Lamb Burger - Excellent burger! The meat was flavorful and the aioli added a little kick. Spiced fries were excellent too. The brioche bread did get a bit soggy though from all of the ingredients sitting on it. + Skirt Steak - The steak was huggggge and cut into slices. Steak was cooked perfectly medium and very tender. Once again, spiced fries were excellent. - Baclava - Came with 3 Baclava rolls and a scoop of pistachio ice cream. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough ice cream for the amount of Baclava there was. The Baclava was OK, but a bit too dry for my liking and definitely needed the ice cream to supplement the flavor. THE SERVICE ------------------- + Excellent service throughout our evening. + Waitress was very friendly and attentive checking in on us. + All of the busboys were verrrry active in clearing plates ... maybe a little too active as we were still working on some dishes and they almost cleared a few seemingly empty plates that weren't. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- + Restaurant has nice panaramic views of the Hudson River and NYC. + Interior of the restaurant is spacious and has plenty of tables and bar seats. + Huge strip mall parking lot with plenty of parking spaces. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Came by on an early Friday evening at 6 PM and there was a good crowd inside. There were still plenty of open tables though. Crowd was trendy, music was bumping (but not excessively loud) and most people were there for happy hour (M-F 5-7:30pm), however, there was a mix of families there too for dinner.

Maybe it was restaurant fatigue / too many social obligations at restaurants not of our choosing in this neighborhood. Maybe it was a hidebound fixation with our go-tos (where our experiences have become too numerous and repetitive to re-review in any interesting way). In any event, our recent first meal at Yasouvlaki gave us pangs of regret for having waited so long. It's not an innovative kitchen -- the kind of place that might win James Beard or Michelin recognition -- but based on what we tried, the food seems to be more than competent across the board, sometimes even excellent. I probably judge every Greek or Mediterranean restaurant by the quality of their roasted or grilled branzino preparation whether I mean to or not. It's my go-to main, one that makes me really happy when it's well made. Yasouvlaki's made me happy. I do so love a whole branzino, but Yasouvlaki's filet was beautifully prepared. The fish was sweet, the skin crispy, and it was served with rice pilaf (unobjectionable) and horta (good), a traditionally prepared boiled green vegetable, here made with dandelion greens. I love a well made horta. Kudos to Yasouvlaki for making it with something other than boring ol' spinach! The grilled half of a lemon was a perfect accoutrement for the dish. Lamb chops, served with roasted potatoes and Brussels sprouts, were also well executed, grilled to a perfect medium rare as the primary consumer requested. Roasted potatoes and Brussels were wholly completely competent. (Note that Brussels were not shaved and deep / air fried to a crisp, as seems to be the norm in restaurants, today. They were halved and oven roasted with olive oil, just as we make them at home. I happen to like this preparation; our kiddos prefer "restaurant Brussels sprouts" -- the greasier the better!) Moussaka was made with tender ground lamb. Both it and the kefte kabob were moist and flavorful. Beet salad was both simple and perfect, a generous portion of roasted beets, fresh arugula, fried halloumi, roasted walnuts, and balsamic reduction. Our table enjoyed everything with the warm, herbed pita wedges that came to the table at the start of the meal and a bottle of a 2021 Greek cabernet sauvignon (unusual, I think?), which was low tannin, but otherwise old vine in style, without the jammy red fruits of many new world style cabs. I didn't foot the bill, so I don't know what the markup was... but it was quite delicious and went well with all of our food, from the branzino to lamb. All in all, Yasouvlaki is a great place to have in our neighborhood and one to add to our rotation. Next time, I'm honing in on the lovely-looking meze.

Pita is quite stale and tastes dry, in addition i find it to be quite chewy but flavors are there. As well it is served alone. Branzino is very tender and juicy, and is complemented by lemon juice and capers. It does have a lot of bones. The shrimp is tender and flavorful. Salmon is juicy but is missing something. I can say that the food did indeed satiate my ravenousness. Overall, im very content with my experience here but its not my first option.

The lunch specials are a nice touch, and I like that they offer them on Saturdays. In recent years, they have been offering wine and beer which is also lovely. My favorite dishes are the chicken / gyro platter (although I do think the gyro meat can be a little crispier, sometimes it's a little soft for my tastes), the lemon potatoes, the pitas, and the shwarma. Their tzatziki is top notch, as well as the tavern chips (fried eggplant and zucchini). Personally, their falafel is not my favorite but I do know people who enjoy it. I haven't tried everything on the menu but I do know some things are better than others. Also, the service is usually pretty solid, too! Sometimes the younger workers can be a little confused when it comes to certain requests, but overall they are pretty accomodating. I wish this place was closer because I would order from here all the time!
