Itto Sushi has moved in the same space, the conjunction of sushi and Korean may seem too wide of a menu, but we really enjoyed it. Came here before a concert at the Maverick center. They greet you with the Japanese hello when you walk in. The service was incredible, we were asked multiple times if we needed anything, if everything tasted good by several different employees not just our waitress. They bring out Korean condiments to munch when your meals begins. Had the Korean fried wings, great crunch, I just wished they were tossed in the sauce. Shared a sushi roll and it was lovely. I went here today actually to get sushi off of the ITTO menu, but instead I decided to try some Korean food. I wish I'd stuck with my original plan. I ordered the Galbi & tofu soup which comes with everything pictured below. It's just not my favorite Asian cuisine, I like all the rest better! The soup was spicy and had a lot of soft tofu in it, which I wasn't a big fan of. Reminded me of very soft egg whites. The side dishes that came with it were the best part, pickled cucumbers, potato chunks, kimchi, bamboo shoots, rice. The ribs had very little edible meat on them, wouldn't order them again, or the soup. I prefer the miso soup here. The service was good and it's always clean and decent seating. I love the sushi here so I'll stick with ordering it from now on. read more

Myung Ga has something that is rare in Asian restaurants in America, sticky rice. The same rice you would eat with your meal in Korea. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. The feel of Myung Ga has changed. It is now very low key and quiet where it used to be filled wall to wall with native Koreans and fans of the country and cuisine. We started to realize why as we got the menu and then our food. I am afraid to say that Myung Ga merely a shadow of what they used to be. The menu is very lean with only the bare-bones traditional dishes, where it used to be expansive with hard-to-find dishes. The soft tofu was quite good, as was the Mandu. However I am afraid the spicy pork was mediocre (mind you, not bad, but lacking in spice and flavor), the kimchi pancake was very thick and gluey/pasty with big/chunky slices of tomatoes, the side dishes were all bland (the potatoes were so big that the marinade did not make it to the center). They have a great offer of hot stone crispy rice. If done right, would be awesome. We do this at home, and we paid an added cost for it, but with zero crispiness. I usually don't write reviews like this, but Myung Ga used to be one of our favorites and a place I always recommended to people, but I am afraid I can no longer recommend it. We went for the sushi but found so many other great things! On Google it comes up as Otto sushi and myung ga, no wonder the menus were huge! The server was patient and kind. The restaurant was clean and had tvs and music for some more entertainment. They had a high chair to accommodate my little bit only had lemonade as a non carbonated drink. From the outside, it's a little confusing since there are a few restaurants hosted in the same place. They've got sushi, they've got Korean and it's all pretty darn good. I was surprised at the few people dining in recently, but happy to have the place mostly to ourselves. Service was laid back, but they got us what we needed. This restaurant is my go to when I want Korean bbq, but don't want to grill it myself. It's not AYCE but the portions are a good size. Their food is authentic, flavorful and not greasy. I usually ordered the bibimbap with beef and their tofu soup. They put a generous amount of soft tofu in their soup, and the broth has good miso flavor. Yesterday was our second time there. Still they have not disappointed us. I ordered the Caribbean roll and it tasted so good and fresh. I also ordered the firebird. I loved the Smokey fire flavor that it had once the flame was out. My kids had teriyaki chicken bento box. The chicken was very good it melted in our mouths. The kids loved it they especially loved the gyozas so we ordered more of just that. I feel like the prices are not too bad for how good everything is. Service was great too. Myunga & Itto have join forces everyone! I recently dined in after being told the businesses have partnered up. Immediately I saw the improvement in staff and service. I've been a loyal customer for the last 14 years and I can say the food has always been great and consistent but the service was a hit or miss. My favorite thing to get here is their meat & soup combinations and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes). Their stone pot bibimbap is good too. I've been to a few of the other Itto sushi locations and think this location will be popping. I mean Korean food and sushi? You're getting the best of both worlds. They offer the full Itto menu which includes bento boxes, entrees, sushi/nigiri and even ramen/udon noodles! This is one of my favourite restaurants and whenever I visit the area I try to hit this restaurant up. Because it is a special treat it is hard to branch out and try new dishes instead of getting the tried and true ones. Thankfully this visit I went with someone who's never been before so we got one new dish and one tried and true. What we got: Korean sweet and sour chicken - 4*. It was great! I like Chinese sweet and sour chicken better but I'd definitely be down to get this again. Dolsot Bibimbap - 4*. This is a tried and true dish. I always enjoy it. It's not my room favourite but it usually is the favourite of friends I bring here. My favourite part is the crunchy rice because it continues to bake in the hot stone pot. Clear soup - 5*. This is the crowning glory of the restaurant. I've had multiple people who don't like tofu try this soup and love it. The tofu is delish, the soup light and refreshing. With the new changes..the Korean side of things has gone down hill dramatically. The flavor is very lacking. It does not taste like anything like the old myun ga. Nor is it good. I'd give 5 stars for taste. But...everything else is below par. Their prices have gone up quite a bit. Albeit cause the economy and rising food costs but cmon. Their service sucks. They literally have cut back hours, shut down early and more days a week now. Hiring server signs all around each window. They are barely hanging on for dear life. My first time trying Korean food and I was not disappointed! I ordered the combination sundubu which is essentially soft tofu soup. The combination included a ton of tofu, one shrimp, a couple of clams, mushroom, onion and tiny pieces of beef. It may not look like I ordered sundubu since it doesn't include the signature red color and it's because I cannot handle spice very well and selected the plain option. I was impressed with the dish. The soup was actually drinkable since it wasn't extremely salty. The consistency of the white rice was perfect. It was soft enough to hold its shape without tasting mushy. The side dishes were interesting. The only side dishes I liked were the broccoli and the cucumber. I can't exactly pinpoint how the bean sprouts were marinated but it tasted weird. I also didn't really like the kimchi nor the potatoes. Honestly, for the portion size, it is a little overpriced at $17. I thought I was full when I finished eating my meal but an hour later, I needed to grab myself some more food. I think the restaurant could also benefit from a little more cleaning. I avoided sitting in a specific area because I noticed my seat had a tiny speckle of red sauce or chili on it. I also saw an ant in the bathroom. read more

This is a review of Itto Sushi, who have a menu at the Myung Ga restaurant. I've eaten a lot of sushi, and have tried pretty much every spot in the SLC area. For Utah, I still have my top [downtown] favorite, but Itto is in my top 4! Itto has extremely high quality fish, including premium offerings like uni, toro (probably chu toro?), and ikura. When eating in, happy hour (Tues/Wed only) and the daily specials (20% off certain rolls on other days) are a great value. The bento boxes are a great deal, delicious and SO much food! I have ordered a number of things, but my favorite is the gunkan combo. The fish was WOW so fresh, with very large portions. The salmon was a great mix of fish and a light sauce (sesame?), the ikura was extremely flavorful, the hamachi was about average, the uni was excellent (2 pieces per gunkan), and the toro with quail egg was delicious. It wasn't quite enough food for dinner, so I'd recommend maybe ordering another small roll along with this. I was disappointed with the scallop dream roll. I wouldn't say it was a scallop nightmare exactly, but I was unpleasantly surprised when I found that the scallops were actually fake scallops. I didn't know there was such thing as a fake scallops, and I can't say I'll choose this from Itto's menu again. Even though it seems weird to have an extensive sushi menu inside a Korean restaurant, trust me, this is the real deal. I come here often with friends, as there is so much variety it's like eating at a different restaurant each time. Love you, Itto, so glad you're in my neighborhood! read more

I swear I'm not a racist, but real talk, previously those servers were nothing but rude. There weren't much of a service back then. The current team is a lot better but can still improve. Took forever to get our drinks, but at least the servers were nice this time. Most of their current servers don't speak Korean, so they had a hard time explaining what's in the dish. Their food has always been good, just a little too salty. With the inflation, the prices have gone up, sadly not the portion. A little too pricy in my option. The food is overpriced ($26 for some short ribs and a soup!?), the service is underwhelming & overall it was just not a good experience. Service: 2/5 On my recent visit we were asked within 2 minutes (literally) if we were ready to order.... This is as we're still not seated & getting my daughter out of her car seat. She continued to ask almost every 2 minutes even after knowing we were waiting for someone. After we received our food (which was partially wrong) she never checked in on us again and it was a long wait for our checks. Food 2.5/5 the food is just plain now. The ribs lacked flavor, the soup was under seasoned and the sides were beyond salty. I'm sorry, but that is not worth $26. read more

After over a decade of being a loyal customer here, Myung Ga is still one of my favorite Korean restaurants in the Salt Lake Valley. I usually get one of their meat combos with the soft tofu soup. I love their kimchi and sweet potatoes that are part of the banchan (small side dishes). The shaved ice /bingsoo is fantastic! I recently stopped by on a weekday for a quick lunch with my sister. The food came out hot, fresh, and quickly ! We shared a combo meal and it was more than enough food for both of us. read more
