We had Mike and his team install our new HVAC system a couple years ago. On Saturday, right before…read morea heatwave, our A/C stopped blowing cold air. I contacted a couple HVAC companies to come out, and a different company came out to service the unit. They said the compressor went bad, and I could replace it next week for $1600, or replace the whole unit tomorrow for $3200. I emailed Keep It Cool on Sunday morning to help us, since they knew the unit and had the warranty information. Mike called us right back and I explained the symptoms and and said it was probably just the capacitor and he could fix it first thing Monday since he was on a trip currently. Then he texted an hour later, saying he could stop by on his way home from his trip in 30 minutes. Mike and his son were at our house same night, 8:30 PM Sunday night, working by flashlight, and swapped out the capacitor just like he had said it was. Not a $3200 new unit, not a $1600 new compressor, just a $10 part the other company missed/ignored. My wife and newborn had cool air again thanks to Mike caring enough to help!

He balanced our expectations with his knowledge. He made himself available to discuss at times that worked best for us, including late evening. This was the locally owned service we were looking for, and I believe price was a little better than other quotes we got. We'll be calling him back when we re-do our central AC.

Wanted to replace old central A/C with Mitsubishi Hyper 2 heat pump. The salesperson came over and…read morebasically YES'd us to death. We had very specific requirements as to what the heat pump should be able to do. We previously had a Bosch installed and it works beautifully, meeting our needs. He said yes to everything. As it turns out, it does nothing that he said it could do. He obviously does not know the system. We had bad service response times. However, when it came time for payment they were amazingly available. (Work with our generator, work on an APP to control temperature, be able to switch to our back up heat source). The unit itself had major issues with broken parts that needed replacement and again their service was worse than awful. I would not use this company and would not purchase Mitsubishi Hyper2 heat pump.

Terrible experience with HVAC Specialists. They cold called me advertising a $89 A/C tune up…read morespecial. After declining at first, I thought it wasn't too expensive so why not and scheduled. For the record, I am an existing customer and they repaired my whole HVAC system in May 2024 for a few thousand dollars. They had to come back multiple times for the repair and they charged me on two separate occasions. Anyway, getting back to the more recent issue, they tested the system and changed some filters and then showed me a bill for $290. They said that it was $89 per unit and I had multiple units so this was the total amount. I feel like I was mislead on the price. They know what my system is from the previous work. They quoted me $89. Once they arrived at my home, they did not give me an updated quote after seeing my system. They did the work and showed me a bill that I would not have paid had this been quoted at the beginning, especially after spending a few thousand dollars 11 month earlier to refurbish the whole thing. After I refused to pay, they just went ahead and charged me. I called to complain and they offered to reduce the price to $180 but I refused. Fair is fair and I agreed to $89 not $180. There so many HVAC companies out there (probably all the same PE ownership but that's another story), you don't need to use these guys. I highly recommend taking your valuable business elsewhere.

My hardworking 23 year old Lennox central air system had to be replaced. Brian helped plan a new central air system with a split Lennox unit in a different part of my house. The total price tag looked even better when I received a cash card from Costco. It was a good investment. My house is more comfortable now with my new efficient system. Moreover, my energy bill is 32% less than last summer!

When I called them, their rude representative claimed their GPS said he was at my house for one hour and 27 minutes. Then she hung up on me. I then check my Ring doorbell camera and got the video evidence. I wrote the company and then got a call from a "manager" who claimed their rep didn't argue with me and they were fixing it. Watch out for these crooks. If they're willing to scam me on my first small bill, imagine what they'd do to you if you did a big project with them. CROOKS. Update: Subsequent to the original post, Jeffrey F from Arctic Mechanical wrote a reply to my post, inaccurately characterizing the events, but more importantly, listing my name and home address in his reply. This attempt to intimidate and chill my right to post about their business practices was appropriately taken down by Yelp. But this is further evidence of Arctic Mechanical's business practices and aggressive and shady front office.

I'm updating a prior five-star review because, in hindsight, it no longer reflects my experience…read moreaccurately. While the initial HVAC and plumbing work appeared acceptable at first, multiple issues became apparent over time. Some installations required repeated adjustments, certain problems were not properly diagnosed the first time, and there were ongoing airflow issues that were never fully resolved. This led to rework and ongoing troubleshooting that a homeowner should not expect from a professional contractor. More concerning was how accountability and professionalism were handled afterward. Items and tools belonging to me that were borrowed during the work were not returned when requested, and communication around resolving this was dismissive rather than professional. This is something consumers should be mindful of when allowing access to their home and property. Based on the quality control, the need for repeated corrections, and how disputes and borrowed property were handled, I can no longer recommend this contractor. I'm sharing this so future customers can make an informed decision and set very clear expectations up front.

An electrician then came out but couldn't figure out how to connect things. Frank painstakingly tested all of the wires in varying combinations and while connecting and disconnecting thermostat and condenser wires to figure out the mess of wires. Eventually, he got it working. He's also an extremely nice guy, who charged something very reasonable given the amount of time he spent working everything out. We will definitely be calling Frank next time we need HVAC help.
