Overpriced and terrible quality. My friend and I walked in for regular manis because we were both a little desperate. I should've waited a bit longer and gone elsewhere. I had someone named Ling (at least based on her Venmo name). She filed my nails unevenly, and didn't get the edges/sides of my nails. Overall sloppy. The bottom edges are all jagged. They don't even have anything to dry our nails. My friend and I sat there for a while to dry, which is fine, except the lady basically said, "Yours are all dry, you can go." Unfortunately, she was wrong, and my thumbnail was all messed up. I noticed this when we had left and we were still on the same block, so we went back. When I showed her, she took the bottle of polish and quickly put a layer on, which only made the problem worse. She said, "okay, all good," which it definitely was not. There were gaps and ridges and bubbles. I told her that I was not satisfied with her quick "fix," which is when she told me to take a seat and actually tried to fix it for real. Even during this attempt, she was very sloppy and tried to take major shortcuts. She also filed my nails completely crooked and it is very obviously slanted -- I've never had my nails filed quite like that before. Not sure how this place has good reviews on Yelp or Google. I paid over $50 for the worst gel manicure. My nails had bumps and scratches before they were even finished and when I mentioned this to the manicurist, she said "that's how your nails are shaped". I was astonished by not only poor skills but poor customer service as well. It has been a week exactly and my nails are already coming off. This was a huge mistake. The girl dented my paint on my toe and then tried to cover it up instead of fixing it. Now there's a giant mound of paint on my big toe. Then the gel is not only thicker in some areas than others (so extremely different colors) but it's on my toes. They all look horrible. Then to add insult to injury, somehow the price I was originally quoted went up $20. Then the girl who did my pedi came over and stood next to me watching the screen to watch what I tipped, thanking me loudly so everyone could hear. HOW TACKY. I was planning on tipping her. UNHYGIENIC, POOR NAIL JOB. The first red flag was when the nail technician brought an already opened nail kit. When I asked about it, she denied it and then I pointed out the fact that cuticle cutter had someone else's skin / cuticle still stuck to it (even though we hadn't reached that stage of the process, i.e. so it wasn't mine). She grunted and brought back a different set, which also had already been previously opened. For the actual cuticle cut itself, she moved quickly and haphazardly. My cuticle was left uneven and she also cut me on my thumb (read again on an already previously opened cuticle cutter ). The nail shaping itself was sloppy and uneven. The paint job was also poorly done and very thin, and the white tip for the French style was such an awkward shape. After 30-40 minutes of trying to be patient, the manager eventually had to step in and re-do her work. I think it would benefit the owner / manager to retrain all of the staff. The manager herself seemed far more competent and gave a decent massage at the end; however, I'm disappointed overall by the lack of hygiene and poor experience. Had a very bad experience with a pedicure leading to a bleeding toe today. the nail technician was trimming my cuticles really aggressively and cut into my skin. It bled a lot so she put something over it, which hurt, so I asked her to remove it. She did, and then eventually put it back on and sprayed alcohol on it. While I appreciate that she was trying to disinfect , it hurt so much and my toe continued to bleed. I said to forget putting polish on today because of the blood. They charged me full price still, and when I tipped 10%, they suggested that it was too low. read more

Today was my fourth visit, and sadly my last. The last two visits were not good. I really wanted to love this place as it's down the street from my office and they have non-toxic brands, but I cannot spend $50 for mediocre. I booked the express mani+pedi today and the website states this service takes 40 minutes but it took over an hour, 1 hr 20 minutes with drying time. My mani has air bubbles and I simply didn't have the time to have them correct it. Figured I'll just repaint my nails when I get home because I can do a better job myself and I don't have to be stingy with the polish or top coat. Also, much cheaper nail salons have chairs with massagers or pedicure tubs to soak your feet that have jets. This place is basically sticking your feet in a sink and you're sitting in an accent chair. Also on their website when you book an appointment it asks you to choose a nail tech - but what's the point? They never honor your choice. You just get whoever is available. I don't normally write reviews as my favorite way to make a statement is to just not spend my money/return to an establishment. But I hope they improve. read more

The single color looks really good and nice. The staff is really careful. Because of that, I asked her to do some simple design on my manicure. The staff told me it's simple so no charge. Later on, she said 2 fingers are $10, 3 fingers are $15, 10 fingers are $20. Not sure what kind of math it's that. And she knew from the beginning that I want 3 fingers!! This is the first ripped off. It turns out in the picture as you can see. I also gave her the pictures to copied and asked her if she is confident doing it. She told me YES!! Fine, it was my fault trusting someone did not have profilo. When I about the leave, the owner told me that it's free for gel removal. So I called a month later, she then changed to it's $10 dollars!! WTF! I wish I recorded what she said last time. She told me it's only for FREE when you are doing same service. Since I'm just doing removal and regular pedicure. There will be a charge. I also asked her if they have returning customer discount. She said I can use my stamp card. Great, where is my stamp card? I walked into the salon around 6:20pm on a Tuesday and asked for a gel French manicure and pedicure. I was taken immediately after picking my colors, which surprised me. The place is really minimalistic and beautiful. I personally love that that chairs aren't the giant message ones and the sinks are simplistic. It gives more of a spa vibe. I went there for gel pedicure. The service is great and flexible. The color penal is diverse and close to the outcome. The environment is clean and decoration is cute. She did a great job and didn't hurt my nails or cuticles. They were very thorough. They are Chinese and so I spoke to them in Chinese but they also had several non-Chinese customers and spoke English to them without issue (accented though) Their salon is majorly gorgeous and upscale. Very clean, very elegant, lots of marble, comfortable, nice lighting, smells amazing. It just made me feel classy and spa like. I was their first customer of the day (booked a Saturday 9:40 am appointment) and they were running late because of the train so they called to let me know (Cool. Favorite nail salon in NYC. I've been to many in the city, and this place is by far the friendliest, most detailed oriented, and professional nail salon. The color selection is excellent. They carry a wide variety of non toxic and luxury brands, and staff always goes above and beyond. To give an example of how hospitable the staff is: I once had to rush to somewhere else after quickly drying my toes for just 5 mins (I used dazzle dry). The staff were so concerned that the polish may not have been dried enough, that they insisted I stop by the next day or two to come for a free touch up. read more

The ambiance is clean and cozy but the service is rush. 1) My friend and I had an appointment but we waited for 30mins to start. 4 staff took care of 8+customers during our stay. They took turn to do nails--I understand the busy time on weekends and respect their hard work, but I didn't feel being taken care of as 3 staff took turns to do my mani and pedi. 2) my friend did classic mani and pedi, it should be in total 25mins+35mins based on what they promoted on website. However, her nails were done in less than 30mins and she sat there waiting for me. 3) I seemed to be "lucky" because my gel mani took time to finish. BUT the staff was rush and hurt my nails twice.
