We were in the Tustin area doing some business with Prestige Diamond Jewelry, and on the way home we decided to stop and grab some food. We ended up at Naan and Kebab, a very casual Persian restaurant. For a place in Tustin and a restaurant that I would honestly describe as pretty average overall, this is the kind of spot that fits the bill if you're just looking for something quick and simple. This is definitely not a Raffi's Place in Glendale or one of those higher-end Persian restaurants where you go expecting a full dining experience. But with that said, it's still okay. If you're just trying to grab something to go and want a decent taste of Persian food without too many expectations, this place isn't too bad. We tried their koobideh kebabs, and those were actually pretty solid. The chicken, on the other hand, was probably around a two-plus star level--nothing particularly memorable. So overall, if you're in the mood for koobideh specifically, this is not a bad option to consider. I'll still give them four stars, mainly because the koobideh was enjoyable enough and the experience, while simple, was acceptable for what it is. read more

I didn't plan to leave a review so didn't snap any pics of my food, and I will spare you a leftovers pic. Note: leftovers were due to generous portions, and not dislike. But let me tell you this food was delicious! You can tell the food was made and plates prepared with love and intention. I came with a coworker for lunch, her suggestion and my first time here. She was telling me she came for her favorite rice, the cherry rice. I had never heard of it, but upgraded my order to cherry rice (didn't see it on the menu as cherry rice, may have a specific name I'm not aware of, but I ordered it fine saying cherry rice). I ordered the lunch special, for 18.99 came with chicken kabob and beef, a tomato, and of course the cherry rice. That rice was so delicious and unlike any other type of rice I have ever tasted. It was slightly sweet, and had warm cooked cherries scattered within. SO GOOD!!! Additionally it came with a tray of warm flat bread with butter, a beautiful starter salad, with a simple dressing of oil, lemon, and mint. This was also a unique flavor to my taste buds, but so good! If you like lemon you will love it. The flavors of the entire meal all complimented each other beautifully. If you are in the Tustin area and enjoy Persian food, give this small business a try. Got this place for take out with no expectations and was wowed. Inexpensive and delicious Persian food. You get a lot of food (especially rice)-which gave me plenty of leftovers for the next day. The chicken koobideh was especially flavorful. Both kabobs were juicy as well. You get butter, fresh onion, lime and a small pile of some thin flatbread (sorry idk the name). The entrees with their signature sauce are a must, especially for the Kabob Barg, which is marinated filet mignon. It's a yogurt garlic lemon mixture that ads the perfect Mediterranean flavor to any meat. We ordered to go since we had our dog with us, and there's no patio seating. Their small parking lot is shared by many other businesses, but we were lucky enough to get a spot. Like you can barely turn around to get out if you enter and there is no parking left. Been eyeing this place for a very long while - and finally decided to give it a shot. Hubby and I both ordered the Beef & Chicken Koubideh with Rice Combo and we were pleasantly surprised at the amount of food we got. Spoiler alert: we weren't able to finish our food. Each combo came with a side salad and the service was great. At Naan & Kabob, you place your order and pay - then they'll either bring out your food or pack it for to go. We also ordered Hummus with naan and everything was devine. The food was amazing and we didn't know why we'd never tried it before! At the end, we had a little bit of hummus left, and we still wanted to take it to go. So when we told the server, he was nice enough to give us a whole new side of hummus to go! Wow! Went to N&K on a Saturday afternoon. Got the Chicken Barg Dinner (the Lunch option is only available on weekdays from 11:00 to 15:00) with the half rice/half salad option for an additional $2.00. Since this meal comes with either a soup or salad, I got the soup since I had already added the half rice/half salad option. Everything was delicious. The first item to arrive was the Naan. The Naan was warm, thin and soft. The Naan comes with butter and raw onions - perfect to complement the Naan. The next item was the Ash Reshteh soup. The soup was flavorful with a medium consistency. The final item was the Chicken Barg Dinner. The salad dressing was an acidic with mild seasoning. The rice was cooked perfectly. The chicken was tender, moist and seasoned well. This spot is my family's go to for Mediterranean food. We make a 30 minute drive out just to get take out all the time.The chicken koobideh and chickenbarg are always so flavorful! The chicken barg can sometimes be on the dry side, but I think that's just how the dish is! If you get a combo they give you PLENTY of rice! Two of their proteins that stand out to us are their lamb chomps and salmon. They never taste gamey or fishy respectively. They're both so tender and flavored lightly, but it works perfectly. Went here for lunch on a weekday and I can't wait to come back! Not only the meat is tender, everything that my colleague and I ordered are dang good! The space is small and the parking area is small too, so it's a hit and miss. They have quiet a few selections and I was craving lamb, so I got the lamb plate, and my colleague recommended the eggplant dipping, and it's also good! I used to like this place. I ordered few hundred dollars worth of take out. Had an infant in the car. I park right in front of the store. Baby is crying. I call them and ask if they can bring the food out to me -- probably 10 steps. They ask me to wait. Another 10 min passes. I call back. The guy finally comes out all upset that I didn't come in. I explain again that I can't leave the baby in the car. He asks me to bring someone else with me next time so he doesn't have to bring me the take out order. And he keeps arguing. How difficult is it take ten steps to help a loyal customer??? Unbelievable. No understanding and no compassion. We've consistently given them at least 3-5 thousand dollars worth of business a year. But No more. There are better businesses around to support. No more Naan Kabob. read more

Naan and Kabob still in the top quarter of my list for Persian food in orange county, based on cost. For the cost, it hits the spot! I have eaten here multiple times for different occasions - and I can say service has always been good. The parking, on the other hand, is tough. The restaurant is located in a relatively large plaza - but the parking lots are separated by concrete walls making it tight and tough to find parking. My best recommendation is to place a to-go order via uber eats or call in and pick up (the food portion is still the same). I typically order the chicken kabob plate which includes 4-5 pieces of chicken, 1 tomato, and basmati rice (although I wish it came with a serrano pepper or 2). Chicken is always well seasoned and moist! The beef koobideh is also delicious! The portions are filling, especially when paired with the complementary naan, butter, and onion (Somehow every time I go, the onion is spicy, yet so sweet!). If you're feeling extra, the Maust Khiar (yogurt/cucumber) and Kashk O Bademjan (eggplant base sauce) are also delicious appetizers when served with naan as well! I've been to Naan and Kabob multiple times and the experience is always great. The staff and service are always friendly and very helpful, and they make you feel welcome every time you visit. The portion sizes are always very reasonable for the price, and the pricing itself is very fair for the amount of food you get. One of my favorite things to order is the boneless chicken thigh dinner. It is packed with flavor and always very juicy and well cooked. I'm going to keep this one honest. Naan and kebab spot. Flavor wise, it was solid. I'll give the food an 8 out of 10. Seasoning was there. The kebab was cooked right. Naan was fresh. No complaints on taste. Service was even better. 9 out of 10. Staff was attentive, respectful, quick. No attitude. No issues. But here's where it fell apart. The portion made no sense. They barely put any meat on the plate. I'm talking light. For almost 30 dollars a plate, that's unacceptable. If I'm paying that, I expect real portions. Instead, they loaded it with rice. And not just a normal serving. It was enough rice to feed a village. Rice is cheap. Meat is what we're paying for. That imbalance ruined it for me. You can't charge premium prices and portion like you're rationing protein. That kills the whole experience. The food here is absolutely fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and worth every bite! We truly loved the dishes and would recommend them to anyone craving great Afghan cuisine. That said, the service didn't quite match the quality of the food. When we arrived, no one greeted us, and we eventually seated ourselves. It took quite a while for our order to be taken, and then again for the food and the bill to arrive. We didn't feel like valued guests, which was disappointing given how amazing the food was. Here at Naan and Kabob in Tustin, they're doling out some major delicious skewers, rice, and more! We came in the middle of Ramadan, and this place was super packed after around 7pm. I hadn't been here in a while, I almost forgot about it. But now that I'm back, it's game on! We ordered some tahdig to start, which is a crispy rice dish, that they put some major sauce on. Some lentil stew and ghormeh sabzi adorn the plate, and the textures are out of this world. Crunchy, satisfying morsels of rice that soak up that incredible stew. It's hard to fault this dish. That being said, it was way too much food with the other things we ordered, so come here with a bunch of people. We also ordered some kabobs! I got the beef koobideh, which is a ground beef type skewer that is absolutely busting. It's flavorful, served up with some basmati and some saffron, it's a shoe-in for one of the tastiest kabobs i've ever had. I got the house special kabob, which has one koobideh and one chicken kabob. It's incredible. I usually think chicken can be dry, but this was different. Just look at the color, it's acidic, savory, and scrumptious. Can't fault this. Especially when you butter the rice, and throw some sumac on there? Oh my gawwwwwwww~~~. They also come with these little flatbread wraps that you can make little bites out of! Khoshamzeh! My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. The food is consistently great and the staff is just so friendly.

Wow this place is amazing and way underrated! Easily one of my top three spots for Persian food. Everything here is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Their wraps are incredible, especially the chicken, and the shrimp, beef, and chicken kebabs are all perfectly cooked. The rice is fluffy and delicious, the salad is crisp and refreshing, and the entire restaurant is super clean. My family and I come here all the time, and it's always consistent. The only downside is the parking, but honestly, it's 100% worth it for food this good. Highly recommend Nan & Kabob they deserve way more credit than they get. the service is ok ! read more

I've been coming here regularly for over 10 years. It has always been good food for a really good value compared to similar restaurants. The last few visits the food quality has been inconsistent, and occasionally really bad. This time we had the chicken kabob which was really dry, and the koobideh which was also extremely dry and under seasoned. Id say it is barely edible. We also had the hummus which was actually good. Not sure what happened here but the last year sometimes the food is pretty good, and sometimes it's horrible. The small salad consisted of what seemed t me to be wilted lettuce more or less swimming in dressing. It wasn't good. The Lamb Kabob plate was generously portioned, but it was just so so. Ever since a favorite Persian kabob spot closed suddenly in Pasadena, I have been keeping an eye out for a suitable replacement, at least in a given area I'm likely to frequent. Ironically, it took an intended Italian deli being closed on Wednesdays to learn about this fine establishment. Technically, arriving at the height of lunch hour isn't the best time, however, I was able to grab a table amidst the hustle and bustl.the staff, while busy, we're able to take my order, and quickly bring water, lavash, butter, and small salad that's included with the Lunch Special. A short time later, my kabob combination with chicken and koubideh arrived, quite hot, and prepared to order. In fact, I was impressed how the staff handled the many pickup and to-go orders as well as attend the by now full restaurant. Te salad had an interesting lime vinaigrette that was refreshing. The lavash came warm, which was also nice. Taste: Both kabobs, albeit different from each other, were well seasoned, flavorful, and moist. Expertly grilled, and that's what makes Persian kabobs distinctive from other places. The staff were all friendly, and as I paid at the front, one server told one of the owner's family members that it was my first time. He was very nice and expressed the hope I'd return. RIP to what was once an amazing Persian restaurant. I've been a loyal customer for years, but after visiting yesterday, it's clear something has changed -- and not for the better. The Sultani and Barg were completely tasteless, and the Zereshk Polow wasn't made with basmati rice. It had an odd tomato-paste-like flavor that doesn't belong in the dish. The inside is quite outdated and sometimes smell a little musty. I usually get a combination with beef koobideh and chicken kabob. If I'm not that hungry, I might have some leftovers for a second meal. Depending on how busy they are at lunchtime, it may take a while for the food to come out. What a find! Moved back to Orange County, and found this place by mistake. Very close to where I live, "I feel like dancing" I've been there a few times and they made some boo-boos, BUT, I'll tell you one thing; they take responsibility to make things fair, and being kind while doing so. Obviously they want you to come back. The food is excellent-when there's a lot of people in there, it tells me the food is being used quickly, and it's fresh. The parking is kind of tight, but it's worth it if you find parking someplace else. Shish kebab half-and-half (chicken and beef) with rice and salad is amazing. Naan bread served nice and warm.
