Panini Kabob Grill had some really great food overall. Everything we ordered was very delicious, fresh, and flavorful. The standout for me was definitely the tzatziki -- it tasted super fresh and honestly might have been one of the best parts of the meal. You can tell the kitchen puts care into the food quality. That being said, the service side unfortunately took away from the experience a bit. The servers seemed visibly frustrated or overwhelmed, and it started to bleed into how they interacted with customers. The attitude and lack of warmth made the atmosphere feel a little uncomfortable at times. The food was strong enough that I'd still come back, but I hope the customer service experience improves because the restaurant itself has a lot of potential.

The food here is awesome and I truly wish I could give it more stars, but the service was so bad. I started with the appetizer combo which included the caprese, falafel, tzatziki, and hummus. The hummus was delicious and is a definite must try- especially to pair with an entrée. I enjoyed the quantity and quality of the appetizer combo, and I could really taste the home-made ingredients. I also ordered the Chicken kabob which was juicy and well seasoned. The basmati rice was a chefs kiss and I liked the flavor that it had. My partner also ordered Chicken Linguine and the pasta was fresh! Just a heads up it does come with a bit of oil/water at the bottom of the pasta bowl so just keep that in mind. I loved the food as it came out fast and hot! The service is what keeps me from giving this place more stars. I was given a 10 minute-Ish wait time when there was a ton of open seating (which is not a huge deal breaker), but once I sat, the service started to go downhill. There was a 10-minute delay before anyone approached the table and when they did it was a runner who just got our drinks. The runner mentioned that our server would be with us in a couple minutes since it was busy. We got our drinks, but waited another 15 minutes to place the order since the server never came and the runner also ended up taking our order. It wasn't until another 15 minutes after receiving our food did our server approach us, which was already about 40 minutes of being inside the restaurant. I also want to note the server didn't apologize for the lack of service. Total time in the restaurant was almost 1.5 hours - majority of the time waiting either to get our order taken or for the check. Great food, but service needs a step up. I will still order from here, but take out only.

Chicken kebab with Mediterranean salad and basmati rice

This restaurant is part of the Main Place mall in Santa Ana, behind the Discovery Cube. I recommend you use Google maps to lead you directly to the restaurant, and to park next to it. Finding the restaurant from inside of the mall is more circuitous and challenging, because you have to walk through a massive arcade to get there. Anyway, my friend and her mom arrived before me, and got a nice little table inside. High ceilings with ceiling fans, and lights that are bright enough, but not glaring, as well as plenty of natural lighting from the large windows, made for a very welcoming atmosphere. The walls are covered in paintings, many of which have signs referring to parts of Italy, but the food is more Persian style, but maybe a little fusion. Diego, our server, was very attentive and helpful I ordered the chicken kebab with Mediterranean salad, and basmati rice. I also ordered the iced tea, which is a very light and refreshing ginger peach flavor, with a wedge of lemon in it. The food came out within about 20 minutes, and it was a generous portion. I had enough leftovers to pack for lunch tomorrow, so that is happy making. My salad and rice were both delicious. The grilled onions were perfectly charred. Though my chicken was well seasoned, it was unfortunately slightly overcooked.. I think there was Christmas music playing in the background, top 40 style, but not so loud that we couldn't enjoy conversation. It was my first experience of Panini kebab Grill. I think next time, I will try a different protein. I think on a warmer day, the patio seating would be very pleasant!

We came here for dinner on a Saturday night and didn't have to wait! The restaurant has a chill laidback vibe, nothing fancy. The portions here are MASSIVE!!! Like enough for 2 meals per plate so it's definitely worth it for the price and quantity. We got the chicken kabob ($18.99) with the avocado cucumber salad and the beef shish kabob ($19.99) with the Mediterranean salad, both with basmati rice. Both also came with roasted veggies which was amazing!! The chicken was super moist and had a nice char flavor. The avocado cucumber salad was just the right amount of sourness and the rice was pretty standard. Wish they had a garlic sauce though!! The beef shish kabob was really flavorful and had a nice texture. The Mediterranean salad was a little overdressed and the rice was standard. I liked the yogurt sauce that came with it and wasn't too tangy! Overall, am definitely coming back - it's a great place to grab dinner and hits the Mediterranean crave everytime! We even had some leftovers and couldn't believe how big the plates were. There's parking and a good amount of outdoor & patio seating, good for large groups and family meals as well!

Chicken Caesar Wrap with Pasta Salad
    Michelle N.

I've been addicted to finding the best chicken caesar wrap so knowing this place had one was exciting! I got the Chicken Caesar Wrap with Pasta Salad. The wrap was pretty small. I think it could've used more salad/chicken in there because I finished it in a couple of bites. It was delicious though, and definitely had me wanting more. The pasta salad was satisfying on the side to balance out the taste.

Service is slow, so don't be in a hurry. I've come to this place so many times and the chicken kabob plate is my favorite. However, the last two times the chicken had been a little dry and they are giving less bell peppers and tomatoes with the meal. I still recommend you give them a try, but come early and expect to be there a long time.

Delicious spot to satisfy your Mediterranean cuisine cravings! Ordered the chicken kabob and beef koobideh plate. Both were great choices with generous portions (basmati rice is a must) and the meat was flavorful and juicy. Next time, I would get the caesar salad over the mediterranean salad because it was absolutely soaked in dressing. Good service overall and our food arrived fairly quick. Lots of seating indoor or outdoor. The patio seating has an intense orange/red light, so the picture of my meal doesn't look appetizing..but my tummy was surely satisfied. If you're at Round 1, or browsing the mall, stop by here for a quality lunch or dinner!

I am probably Panini Kabob Grills biggest fan. I am absolutely obsessed with their pesto chicken sandwich. It is elite. You can either get it with a soup or salad and I typically get the lentil soup. My friend ordered the chicken kabob plate which comes with rice and a salad. I typically order to go but this day we decided to eat in and have dinner. The service was lovely and it was not too busy. We also ordered Tiramisu for dessert and it did not dissapoint. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a delicious, affordable meal. Their options are great and there is a good variety. I will definitely be coming back.

Second time here and it didn't disappoint. I brought my family this time and they enjoyed the food, especially my husband! He can't wait to come back! The portions are generous. I was glad I shared with my hubby. Both the beef and chicken were tender and yummy, full of flavor! Great place for large gatherings and easy parking. It's located outside the Main Place Mall. Lots of tables inside and some outdoor seating. Our server was prompt.

Falafel Wrap with my choice of the chicken soup as a side.
    Lydia S.

Everything about the place says cozy comfort. I prefer the interior seating with small tables however, you can sit outside. All of the plates are very generous. Three of us got eraps (spinach or flour ) which comes with two kinds of sauces and a side of your choice. I got the falafel which was really really good , having it great crunch on the outside of the falafel. And such freshness inside of the wrap. Another got a green salad as their side and it was absolutely fresh. Surprisingly there's a really good selection of adult drinks! The place was packed by noon and the staff was really busy, however very accommodating . One hint: I parked at the wrong side of the mall and ended up, enjoying the entire thing as I walked from the south mall entrance to the actual restaurant which is located on the exterior north side of the mall and has its own parking lot . Thank you, Apple Maps

    koobideh, 1 Chicken Skewer
    Tiffany D.

Service was poor, but we also came on a Saturday, so that may be why. We were seated at a table and sat there waiting for ~30 minutes until someone finally came to get our orders and get us some water. Food was decent, the chicken skewer was pretty dry 7/10, but the beef koobideh was good 8/10. Portion size is huge which is a plus, but the basmati rice was bland. It was nice there was heaters on the outdoor area though.

If you are looking for low price this is not the place. However you will get choice cut organic meat and you get what you pay for. The chicken is by far my favorite, it's tender, juicy and has so much flavor. The vegetables are fresh and not overcooked , and have a nice crunch. The service is great but the food does take time to come out, but what do you expect as everything is cooked fresh and made to order. They are located near the Orange shoppes, so it makes for a great day of shopping and eating.

    Hummus Trio (A Must)
    Diana R.

We've had food catered for work meetings and events. I hadn't dined inside the restaurant for lunch in some years. It was such a treat to eat there while the food was brought out to our table. The five of us enjoyed the hummus trio with pita bread slices, and two salads along with our family meal of beef koobideh and chicken kabob. The beef was full of flavor and the chicken was juicy and delicious. We need to come back to dine in more often! Our servers were all friendly and checked on us a couple times. The rest of the staff were friendly as well despite being a full house inside during a Thursday lunch rush.

Chicken kebab, jasmine rice, date salad. Yum!

Someone nearby us had a birthday, and a group of staff came out with a dessert, blasting a traditional birthday song over the speakers and encouraged the whole restaurant to clap along! Despite the large gatherings, the restaurant is a no-reservation spot. They have a covered patio outside to seat an overflow of customers in case. Thankfully, my boyfriend and I were seated right away. Located on 1st in Santa Ana near Tustin, there's a wrought iron fence around the private lot, and the restaurant is open until 9pm most nights. I was surprised nobody was dining in, and except for a woman waiting for her takeout order to be made, I was the only person for most of the visit. I quickly realized the phone rings often, so most business is ordered ahead, with the option to eat there, in the car, or take home. Clearly, for presentation and likely quantity, I recommend eating there. The host is a nice older gentleman who literally does it all, and is so good it hardly seems like he's working. My Shish kabob plate came out faster than expected, and I was almost as impressed with the salad as the saffron rice and actual kabob, which is tender and amazing by the way. Basically, you pick a drink from the refrigerator, and I let him talk me into trying hummus, and appetizer, which ultimately comes with cut flatbread. His take is less creamy than other restaurants, but the flavors are fresh, without garlic. Don't worry, the salad dressing is a fantastic creamy Italian style. All-in-all, I was enjoying every bite and pretty much ate everything, although I preserved some hummus to eat at home. The price was commiserate with the quality, and I suppose I'll try more when I'm around the area.
