Not sure what the hype is about this place other than maybe the location. I do not drink so maybe it's the drinks that gets it. The food was mediocre at best. I'd say below average, hence the rating. Nachos felt store bought and slapped together in a microwave. Orders had items forgotten on them. The ingredients were bland. Little flavor, especially at a Mexican restaurant. Just overall disappointed. The setting was kinda cool. It was slightly overwhelming with everything crammed in there. Our server was very nice but seemed to be forgetful which made our stay at the place longer than we wanted or needed it to be. The food wasn't anything special but it was pretty good. The wait was a bit long for the food though. The environment was very VERY loud. I thought someone was singing karaoke but it was an actual artist. We were so thankful when her songs ended and we had a few seconds of silence before the next. Until we finally left. We were excited to try this place out as the menu seemed fun with a lot of options. Our server was really nice and we enjoyed the evening overall but the food wasn't as good as we had hoped. We, of course, tried an order of nachos (we went with the Bleep Hole Nachos), two tacos (The Gringo and Pollo Loco) and a grilled corn on the cob. The tacos were stacked with toppings and were pretty good. The nachos also had a lot of toppings but hardly any chicken with the chips tasting very stale. The corn on the cob was inedible in our opinion. It seemed nicely roasted and has a fair amount of crema/cheese but the corn itself actually lacked flavor. We are huge corn fans and we couldn't get past just a few bites. Our server recognized that we didn't like the corn and removed if from the bill promptly which we appreciated. The atmosphere was nice but the food really just wasn't our favorite. We vacation here every couple of years and this likely won't be a restaurant we revisit as there are a lot of others in the area that we prefer. read more

We were picking a friend up from the airport and saw this was close. Nacho hippo has a huge menu and was vegan friendly for me! The restaurant itself was very clean, and we were greeted by friendly staff. Bright lights are strung around the "dive" decor of painted walls, vintage license plates, and big screen TVs. Our server, Ashley, was wonderful! Very knowledgeable with the menu and helped me selection a vegan option. We ordered drinks, even one served in a bucket. The drinks were tasty, but seemed to be very low volume in booze. Still yum though! The dip sampler was good, and we loved the mango habanero salsa the best. My partners nachos were a hit and I enjoyed my tacos for the most part. They were essentially a salad rolled into a tortilla with some interestingly tangy hummus. I honestly ate the rice and beans instead, which were both incredible. Overall it was a good experience! I don't think I would crave this place, but it is definitely worth a visit! read more

Absolutely stunned I haven't reviewed this spot yet. When I'm not in NMB, I think a lot about the Bang Bang Shrimp Nachos from here. Like, a whole lot. They are so good. Ridiculously good! If friends or fam are going to NMB, I WILL ask them to bring an order back for me. Food poisoning be damned! I wish I could tell you more about their other offerings, but I literally am physically incapable of not getting the Bang Bang Shrimp Nachos if I'm here. However, I have tried the guac & queso app, and it's definitely good. It's a huge hit with my daughter. Drinks are also awesome. Shout out to the bartender who made a delicious mango slushie for my daughter. She loved it! When we visited during the pandemic, we did takeout, and sadly it's just not the same. We are really excited to dine in once things are safer for the real experience. Definitely give this spot a try, it's a really fun location. We love sitting outside or in the patio area. We were told the wait would be 15-20 minutes. 40 minutes later they finally sat us and 20 minutes later, still no waitress. We came here because the other restaurants in the group were great. This is a horrible experience and would not recommend to anyone. When we finally flagged someone down to take our order, they said we had to wait for the bartender to take our order??? It was a Wednesday night about 8:30 pm and I was in the Market Common area and she popped into my mind, so I called in and asked if it was too late for me to take out Debbie. The girl that answered the phone said she'll be ready in 15-20 minutes. Great! I said. During this whole COVID19 thing I'm wondering if Debbie would remember me? It's been awhile since our last visit together and she really hurt me last time. But I figured, what the heck. I'm sure things have changed and how wrong I was. Upon arrival, the girl said Debbie should be right out for you so I grabbed a beer and waited...and then she appeared...wearing a black styrofoam container, I almost couldn't control myself. I took Debbie into my hands and we walked back to my truck. The whole ride home she didn't say anything and in my mind, I kept thinking: was this a bad idea? The good Angel on my shoulder said: Debbie is not a nice girl and maybe I should go see if the double cheeseburger down the street was home but then, the bad Angel appeared and said: Debbie's a changed woman.... you'll be fine, have a good time. We arrived home and I put on the TV and dropped Debbie off on the couch. I went in to wash my hands and looking in the mirror saying: are we really gonna do this again? Oh yeah you are buddy! I popped her top and it was like looking into the sun. I got flashbacks on how hot Debbie really was. We went at it for about 10 minutes and I could barely control myself. Nothing changed! Debbie was smoking hot as I remembered and she held nothing back. She punched me in the face as hard as an MMA fighter. It was as if a grenade went off in my mouth but not once did I stop, or even think about stopping. When it was over, I must have blacked out and she was gone. I went to bed and dreamed of Debbie and how I missed her so. She hurts me every time but like a fat kid with a cupcake, I keep coming back for more. The next morning, I was reminded of Debbie's visit. That woman is evil but I will never stop seeing her. Deep inside, I love Debbie and I know she loves me in her own way. I had read good things about the Divine Dining Group in Myrtle Beach, so during our visit, I wanted to try out one of the company's local restaurants. We opted for Nacho Hippo at the Market Common. Upon entering, it looked to be a very casual, fun place. Not very "Mexican-looking," but then again, it doesn't have to be for a really good Mexican restaurant. That can get old and overdone anyway. Their menu was very different from a traditional Mexican restaurant, too. So instead of ordering something with the traditional tortillas wrapped around something, I went with one of their eight nacho plates, figuring they must be good if they named their restaurant after them. I ordered the Hipponachomus plate -- chili, chorizo, chicken, cheese, jalapenos, etc. What I got was a heaping platter full of nachos bigger than my head. The meats were good and the cheese was creamy, coating more than just the top layer of nachos. There were also LOTS of jalapenos. And not the pickled kind from the jar. These were freshly cut ones, adding extra spice! It was a good meal, and I was glad that I had at my table a teenager with a bottomless stomach to help me eat half of them. Would I go back? Sure! This is the Airport location of the same folks at Market Common. Yelpers give that location 3.5 stars. I feel this location deserves the same rating. When you are at the airport, there is a small restaurant/bar before security. Do yourself a favor and pass on by. It's run by very nice folks but it's extremely limited in both food and adult libations. So you blow through security and you'll see this place right away. It's easy to find because this is where everybody is. As it's an airport location it opens at 6 AM! It closes when the last flight leaves for the day. That can be anything from 10:30 PM to 2 AM. You know the deal; you're going to pay more for your drinks here. You should expect that at an airport location. If this surprises you I submit you have the IQ of a golf ball. The food is your standard Americanized Mexican food in all its variations. It's decent and the portions are large. The restaurant thinks they are "Hip" so they use silly names for their plates. You don't order a Chimichanga here. Instead you ask for a Chimi-Chimi-Bang-Bang. I know it's silly but it still tastes good. The servers/bartenders are fine here and sometimes even excellent. This is clearly the best place to eat/drink at the airport. I'm awarding 3 stars but for me it really should be 3.5. read more

Tried Nacho Hippo for first time, and OMG fell in love it! The pickled peppers are to die for. I also love the nachos called "Day After." They have so many great things on the menu though, so try it out it you haven't yet. Some of the servers are really good and others are in ghost mode once you get your food. The lights in the restaurant suck, but they have they same ones outside which work much better. The lights inside make it too hard to read the menu and do justice for women that have beautiful makeup on. Maybe think about getting something brighter. read more

A large group of friends came here with me on a Wednesday night around 10:45 pm. They are open until 1:00 am but I believe they stop serving food around 11 pm? It did take them quite a while to set up tables for us which was awkward. Opening up the menus was an interesting experience! It's like an origami puzzle. Very cool but pieces falling off & 1 friend accidentally ripped the menu in half. Because it was so late hubby & I ordered the nachopottamus $10 split is a great deal! A huge plater of covered nachos. The jalapeños were killer, seriously I couldn't even bite into one! My friend ordered a burrito and he couldn't finish it! So big! One other friend didn't like the burger (why would you order a burger at a nacho joint?!) & he had it remade.
