Ok, my friends and I looooove meeting up at LA Crab Shack in Mesa, so while running errands today, we decided to check out the Ahwatukee location for lunch. From the moment we walked in, the vibes were great - our waitress was super friendly, the 90's playlist was hitting, and the food was DELICIOUS as always! We started with happy hour hurricanes, half a dozen raw oysters, and fried okra. First of all... they do NOT play with those hurricanes because that drink was STRONG!!! We almost ordered the jumbo platter, but ended up getting two pounds of live crawfish and shrimp with a few sides in their medium house blend. Perfect amount of spice - enough of a kick to satisfy, but still super flavorful and enjoyable. The ambiance was chill and relaxed, probably because they had just opened for lunch, which made it even better. Definitely recommend this spot if you're craving a good seafood boil! read more

We love having a crab shack here in Ahwatukee. Great parking. Nice clean restaurant & very friendly staff. We have been here on the weekend and also during the week - service & food quality remains consistent. Personal Fav is the Cajun Garlic shrimp then add potato & sausage for a good mix of textures & taste. My ONLY "note"....eating is a multi sense experience. Eyes, nose, mouth & Ears. The music did not match the theme or vibe, at times it was a bit jarring. Try adding jazz or blues type background music to complete the Experience . My kiddos will not eat seafood (yet, we will get there) so we get them a Chicken Tender meal and that chicken is so fresh & "tender"! Nicely breaded, crisp not soggy. Crispy skinny fries. It's was so good we had to come back for round 2 on day 2 Same great service. The special! 1 lb of shrimp with the trifecta sauce, 1 snow crab cluster, corn and a potato. SO GOOD. WAIT...AMAZING. The sauce! The sauce! The sauce would taste good on a rock. Pecan praline ice cream to finish. A total win. I'm addicted. This is my neighborhood. This place was really good, I'll be back. I ordered the Dungeness crab clusters and the soft shell crab. The seasonings were on point and there was so much soft shell crab, other places like this usually give you two crabs cut in half, so four pieces total. They played really good music too, so that's a plus. Lastly, our server was awesome, super friendly! read more

We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday, and it ended up being such a great choice. The service was wonderful, our server was incredibly friendly and attentive the entire night. Dropped in randomly one evening. The place was pretty sparse, not many customers on the evening we went. Wherever was polite and attentive but the food was not very good. We took the leftovers (because we didn't eat much there due to it being mediocre) leftovers ended up getting tossed out. I personally would not recommend. read more

Was super excited to visit this new location, since we often go to the Mesa location. The restaurant is a okay size, a bit smaller than their other locations. The menu was really similar, but didn't have ramen on it like the other locations. The waitress was friendly, and our food was okay. It had a slight different taste, but it wasn't bad. Everything was going okay, until it came down to paying. We paid with our card, and when we got the booklet back our card was not in there. We looked for it everywhere before letting the waitress know it was missing in case it fell. She looked for it in the back and it was no where to be found. We waited a bit incase it came up, but nothing. The card was charged, but never returned. :( read more

We tried this place for the first time last night and it was delicious. The service was good but we got our appetizer after the food was delivered. I did not care for the fried calamari but everything else was great! I think the prices are reasonable. I had the special of a lobster tail, lb of shrimp, corn on the cob and a potato. Great food at a reasonable price & music. One thing though. Waitress spoke a little bit fast & was kind of in a rush. Probably because she's the only one there at the time I came & there were quite a few people. In that case, might I suggest hire another waitress or waiter. We wanted a seafood boil and decided to try this place while we were on the north end of Phoenix. We were one of the first couples in for lunch and the service was good and food delivered quickly. Wine $3.50 for a generous pour of pino grigio that paired nicely with a hearty gumbo and a plate of fried goodies straight from Cajun country! The remolaude sauce and ranch were my favorite. I walked in with low expectations. Not to name names, but I've been to a few other restaurants with the same theme, but the yelp reviews peaked my interest. I was pleasantly surprised; what I really liked is the menu was very diverse and offered plates if you're not interested in the "bag". I was told the most popular item was the "bag"so we decided to get it. We got the snow crab and the easy peel shrimp with mild house sauce. The sauce was amazing, I could not stop eating it. Tried it for the first time today. My driving factor was the Chargrilled oysters and they did not disappoint. Super good. We had the sweet corn fritters, fried okra and they both were yummy. My wife has the shrimp/ crab special which was a great deal and very tasty. Juliet was an excellent server. Plenty of restaurant space, which surprised us since it looked smaller from the outside. Our server wasn't real knowledgeable about where the seafood was from or the preparation. The place was clean and pretty quiet. It is just like the old Crab Shack restaurant. I thought the fried frog legs tasted like they were cooked in old oil. But it was my first experience having them, so maybe it was me. My partner had cajon fettuccine and really enjoyed it. They have alligator bites but we didn't try it. Everyone's tastes are different so I'd give it try to see if suits you. read more

Came in during Father's Day cause we had heard about the location opening up. Wow I'm so glad we came in! From the food to the service everything was great. The restaurant itself was clean and very cute. The kids loved the pirate theme. They also had a handwashing station which was super convenient. The bathrooms were also gorgeous and most of all clean! The wall tile is beautiful it made me feel like I was in a spa for a moment. L For food we opted to try the jumbo seafood platter since it had a bit of everything. We tried their new Cajun dizzle flavor and it was BOMB! The server explained it as a viet Cajun sauce So garlicky and tangy it was amazing. We also got their oysters and Cajun shrimp Alfredo. The oysters were superb and super fresh! And the Alfredo was great too definitely worth the risk as someone who's lactose intolerant lol. We definitely may have over ordered lol we had a group of five and we were stuffed and still had left overs to take home. I ordered the 4 lb bag for take out for my mom's birthday. We had headless shrimp, mussels, and 2 orders of dungeness crab clusters. The bag also came with free sausage, corn, and boiled eggs. I feel like the food was a good value for the price and very tasty. I called the restaurant for a better breakdown of the sauces, and the lady pointed me to the house mix. Great choice! Wife and I love this restaurant. We've been twice in the 2 weeks it's been open. Food is fresh and cooked to perfection... Louisiana style. Happy Hour is noon to 6 and the drinks are just the topper for a great Cajun meal. Service is OUTSTANDING and only compliments the meal. We are counting the days until we return. Their house blend is the best sauce I've ever had, that alone is what keeps us coming back, I believe it is a Viet style Cajun sauce. We usually get the build your own combo, with crawfish, snow crab, and a few appetizers like french fries, garlic noodles, and onion rings. I believe they have changed management recently, or in the past few years. Although the sauce remains delicious, the food quality seems to be falling, and I see that they have a few food safety violations listed on their Yelp. The garlic noodles were swimming in the watery sauce, and the Cajun fries were not tossed, just sprinkled on top. The restaurant has never been that busy when we go, and there is usually is only one server doing all the hosting, food running, and waitressing. Ours seemed to be a little stressed today, and did not refill our drinks as much as we would've preferred, and forgot things like our salt and pepper. We will probably still keep coming just for that sauce, but looks like the restaurant has a few things to work out to bring back its former glory.
