I LOVE this place. I order here almost everytime I come to the MoA. I stop by intermittently but it has become a treat! I almost always get a bowl, with rice, chicken, cabbage, pickles, and hummus. I usually do gluten free and skip the naan but it is so yummy and chewy sometimes i cheat. The employees are almost always kind. I will say the naan was a little stiffer this go around but it was good nonetheless. My one complaint which Naf Naf can't change is the noise of the mall, there is a constant hustle and bustle there and it is expected. I got my order to go, and enjoyed it from the comfort of my home. Mixed feelings. The Minneapolis location is always on point and would easily be a 4/5 star review. This was my first time ordering the MOA location and I have mixed feelings. Granted they are probably under more pressure / faster paced environment, but the bowl preparation felt off. The woman helping initially was very helpful and friendly. Nowhere on the menu does it say that the kids meal comes with fries as one of the sides. When I came time to put the toppings and sauces on, the man helping was rude and when I tried to explain that we wanted the fries as an added charge of $3 that was stated on the menu and not one of the sides for the bowl, he got confused and angry with us, saying it only came with 2 sides and wouldn't let me explain that I wanted to pay for the fries as a side instead of using them for the meal. I really wanted to love this place for its food but giving it a 4 star for its staff members as they were very nice, courteous and efficient BUT the food itself was mediocre. Today, mid July, i found the staff to be completely new and very disappointing. The young Hispanic lady worked grudgingly like she wished she were not " there". When i ordered the Falafel bowl with baba ganuch as the base of the bowl, she put in minimal scoops just barely covering the bottom and when i asked for a small amount of hummus, she made a negative sound and did so grudgingly. I told her to delete the diced cucumber / tomatoe salad and instead only added cabbage . Zero offer to give me more of the cabbage or onions ! Okay, after my last awesome meal, I was back at Naf Naf this past weekend. This time I ordered the baba ghanoush bowl w falafel, all vegetarian, as I wanted to sample some other flavors that weren't part of the chicken shawarma meal I tried on my first visit. The worker asked did I want to taste their baba ghanoush first because some people don't like it - of course I said "Sure!" Yes, it was delicious and smoky, just the way I like it, so I forged ahead. Verdict: awesome food! Can't wait to go back again. The baba ghanoush was creamy and slightly tangy (thank you, egg plant), and the falafel was crispy and fluffy, tasted like heaven on earth. With Naf Naf's warm pita, creamy garlic sauce and s'khug (green hot sauce), mixed veg and pickles, it was a texture and flavor explosion in my mouth. It is very rare for anyone to find me in hell. This is what MOA is to me. The Naf Naf Grill, thus far, is the ONLY reason you'll find me on the premises. I'd had their food at a different location. We were in hell because J wanted to go there. We ordered the steak and chicken shawarma. He got steak; I got the chicken. We both got hummus and the chopped salad. We shared an order of Naf Naf Fries. Incredibly delicious, all round. J had never been before and he was delightfully pleased with the choice. I had been the one to decide for us to eat there. I had wanted some Indian food from Hot Indian, but I was thinking that it would be too much for him, so we selected Naf Naf as that day's lunch choice. None of the meats were dry. They were juicy and flavorful and the hummus brought everything together in perfect harmony. The one downer was the fact that the pita fell apart. I'm not sure if it's how they cut it or how much it's stuffed with food. That would be the one thing that we'd change about dining there. Neither of us wanted a bowl. We don't eat a lot of bread, yet having Middle Eastern food always calls for pita and we won't turn that down. One note, the regular-size beverage is HUGE. We will share a drink the next time we go because neither of us finished our drinks. Now, those Naf Naf Fries are slices of perfect potato delight. They're crisp, flavorful, and must be ordered in a large size so that everyone sharing them doesn't become too possessive over them. They are the perfect accompaniment to pita sandwiches. I wanted something relatively light because earlier I'd had a French Dip sandwich for lunch from a food truck in downtown Mpls. Accordingly, I ordered a Falafel salad with everything (topped with creamy garlic dressing), and added a side of fries and a soda. I really didn't need the fries given the fact that the excellent falafel were very filling and the pita was as well. But they were very good so what the heck. I shared them with my son who also found them tasty. The salad ingredients were fresh and crisp. The line moved relatively quickly. Falafels can either be done very well or very bad. Naf Naf does them well. I was really surprised by the quality of the food since this was at the MOA food court. The rice and falafel bowl was very tasty and filled me up. It was also pretty affordable since you get a bowl and a side of pita. Located on the 3rd level in the mall in the North food court, this Mediterranean place has a simple menu. It's built upon the Chipotle/Subway style of ordering. To my understanding, they bake the pita bread there since someone was rolling out the dough. I ordered a falafel pita, and added cabbage, onion and tahini sauce. The falafel itself is alright, but it's not the most seasoned falafel I've had. Ordered a kids menu and half and half bowl. The kids menu supposedly has a drink of your choice but Noone provides it to you and when you ask for it. I got a scoffing response that its a bottle of water and was given that. My half and half was supposed to be rice and hummus. I literally got less than a spoon of hummus.
