I actually enjoy their food and have been a regular but a week ago I went in for just a chicken pita and the person making it started off by tearing the front of the pita. Now normally you would just start over but she didn't . Without an actual pocket she attempted to put the ingredients in and I commented that she " massacred" it. I was curious to try this place since I drove by many times. There is no reason to come back here. Atmosphere: place was empty and almost eerie. The Starbucks and Chipotle next door were busy so it was not a quiet time of the day. Service: the lady at the counter answered my questions about the menu with neutral attitude. I did not feel welcomed but she was not rude either. Food: the vegetable bowl has hummus and baba ganoush on the bottom, followed by layer of lettuce, cucumber salad, cabbage salad, falafel. Optional toppings were pickles, onions, and sauces. I chose the tahini sauce. You also get a side of pita bread. The cucumbers were not prepared properly, the bitter ends must have been mixed in. The other parts were just average. The only highlight was the falafel which was tasty and took this review from a one star to whooping three. Naf Naf is one of my favorite take out places and luckily there is one right by work! The chicken shawarma pita and couscous is really delicious and fresh! The Naf Naf fries are good too and the tahini sauce makes all the difference. This place is like a Middle-Eastern version of Pita Inn. Not bad for a quick bite. It's like Mediterranean fast food. You come pick your carbs(pita or rice), protein (chicken, falafel or steak) and some salad and sauces on top. I stop in here probably once a week for lunch since I work right across the street. Today I went in, ordered my usual falafel pita, and get up to the cashier. The guy asked twice what I ordered and then gave me a suspicious look after I told him twice that it was falafel in the pita. He then opens my pita WITH NO GLOVES ON AND PROCEEDS TO STICK HIS FINGER IN THE SANDWICH. Turns out, he was wrong. And, after sticking his finger in my sandwich WITH NO GLOVES ON, he smiled and said "Oh I'm sorry. It felt like steak." The sandwich felt like steak through the bread? So you put your finger in it to make sure? WITH NOT GLOVES ON? Because you didn't believe the customer? You're disgusting. I threw the food away a left. I love to get the Veggie Feast bowl- full of hummus and baba ganoush, fresh veggies and crispy falafels! I always order extra falafels, they are to die for! It's like a middle eastern chipotle. It's sad to see a 4 star authentic restaurant slowly decline to the point of irrelevance. It was a gradual decline with one bad change following another every several months. First, they took the schnitzel off the menu. A sad but not fatal blow. Then came the first major sign that things aren't as they should be: they stopped making real beef shawarma opting instead to cook it on a griddle. It lost all its flavor and became chewy and flat. I stopped ordering it. Then the yummy and ever-so-classic Mediterranean eggplant went the way of the dodo. But... I kept going for those amazing pitas and whatever was left of their initial authenticity. However, today was my worst and final experience at Naf Naf. It started with my kids asking to have Naf Naf for lunch - I agreed. Two things happened: 1. I discovered that they got rid of their Amba sauce. Amba is a the quintessential Middle Eastern condiment made of sour mangoes. 2. (and this is the big one) for the first time ever my kids refused the eat the food saying it tasted bad. I tried both the beef and chicken and my kids were right, they tasted terrible. The meat was overcooked and dry. None of the original wonderful fresh flavors that symbolized Naf Naf when it first opened were present in the food. So I won't be going there again. I think it's time for at least this location of Naf Naf to close. It may not be good for business but it will at least leave some legacy, some reputation of a once vibrant, fresh and authentic place read more

Naf Naf is much like a Middle Eastern version of a Chipotle. My favorite part about this place is the made-from-scratch pitas that come with your food. When ordering you have a few items that to chose from to form your bowl or pita. I like the bowl personally because it comes with a pita anyway. Naf Naf is a great way to get your feet wet with a new cuisine that you may not be all that familiar with. If that is the case, then please stop by and give it a shot. You're missing out if you have not had shawarma before. read more

Oh my gosh so good! I might not be the best person to write a review because I'm kinda boring and I always get the same thing, (a chicken schwarma pita with the garlic sauce and house chips) but it's so good! I get cravings for schwarma every once in a while and it's dangerous this place opened up so close to my house because it really hits the spot. I'm not a Mediterranean food expert but I've had it at a few different places and this seems to be pretty legit, very nice for a chain restaurant. There's seating inside, it's served immediately to you though like Chipotle or a Subway so you just bring the food to a table. They sell the hummus and the baba ghanoush and a few other things in sealed packaging so you can take it home and enjoy it over many days! Heads up, this isn't a "full" naf-naf. This is a specialty lunch version that does "bowls" and doesn't have the same offerings as Niles or Naperville. This was a surprise to me when I went. I was in the area and didn't check out the website first. I tried to ask the server some questions but we had major communication issue because of a language barrier. This is my 3rd Naf Naf location to visit and while not great, the food is a decent option over a burger or hot dog. Even Chipotle needs a break once in a while in the lunch mix. The food is ok, but I recommend staying with the chicken pita. The one thing that really bugs me about all the locations is that they are not clear about what condiments are free and which are extra. The guy in front of me was loading up on almost everything and then was shocked when they rang him up for like a $15 bowl. No one said a word to him as he was making selections. Chipotle tells you every single time before dropping that spoon of guac that it's extra. I will leave the chain in the mix, but don't see myself in one more than once a month. read more

TO start, the food isn't bad. Though it's just a rip off of Greek gyros and pita bread. The big problem is the comfort level in the store. I went on a weekend- and it was PACKED with Middle Eastern people- especially younger Middle Eastern men. I remember the men all gawking at me and the other young women trying to get food. I do enjoy eating at Naf Naf..their fry chips are great. Reason for losing two stars is the service at this specific location. My bae and I came here on a Sunday around 1 pm. It took FOREVER for the falafels to come out. At checkout the employee mentioned that she would bring out the falafels when they were done. 20 minutes later...we were the ones that went back up to pick the falafels up. They completely forgot. I thought the food here was really good. Lots of flavor in my bowl which consisted of chicken/steak on yellow rice with all the veggies and toppings available. Bread was soft and warm. Drink selection sucks and therefore the removal of one star. Overall selection of is minimal but the good flavor made up for that. Good for a quick hit meal. read more

I got the chicken shawarma in a pita and got sumac onions, hummus, and garlic sauce added in. The chicken was very flavorful and not dry. The onions gave it lots of flavor, but the garlic sauce is what made it so good. Creamy and lots of flavor, it wasn't super heavy in garlic flavor which I liked. I also tried the falafel and lentil soup. The falafel was the best thing I tried. Crispy and moist inside with such great flavor and perfectly seasoned. Again the garlic sauce is what's good to dip this in. The pita bread was soft and airy inside and also very good with garlic sauce and the hummus. The lentil soup I didn't enjoy too much. This is one of my favorite Mediterranean food places around where you can pick something up to go and be in and out of the door in less than 4 minutes. I eat here roughly 3 times a week especially after a long workout. Get the salad and a pita on the side and you will get more food for your buck then just a sandwich.
