This is a fairly good place for a quick meal. They are often not too busy and the food is flavorful, the portions good, and the prices competitive. They have a great array of sushi options and, for those of us less adventurous, a good number of options for traditional Japanese cuisine. Used to order all the time, ordered a plate of vegetable udon (noodles) tonight and got about 20 noodles. The plate used to be HUGE and when we called to talk to a manager, he told us that he could not understand what we were saying and that those noodles weren't on the menu. I love the lunch special. You can't really beat 3 rolls, soup and a salad for $10. Heck, even the local grocery stores that now have a sushi selection want 6 dollars each that were not made fresh and the rice is crunchy. First off, their website allows you to place an order for takeout even when they aren't open... So my boyfriend and I placed a $73 order & waited 2hrs. Once we had our food we quickly realized a cheap drive-thru would've been more appetizing. Here's a breakdown of our order: Fried calamari - firstly, they're giant. Like large onion rings. The panko breaking is too thick. The calamari is over cooked & chewy. There's no real flavor. No seasoning, no sauce, just blah. Beef Yaki Udon noodles - oily. Not the most disgusting thing on earth, but mediocre at best. Hamachi Kama - it's rare that you see this on a menu, so whenever I do I order it bc it's a fave of mine. This is the neck of a yellowtail. It's like the fattiest part of the fish, yet it was pretty dry & tasted too 'fishy' which means it likely wasn't v fresh. Pepper Tuna appetizer: Again, not so bad we gagged, but only at 4 thin slices. Just mediocre & not super fresh tasting. Tuna Naruto Roll - boyfriend spit it out & I couldn't bring myself to even taste it. Crawfish Roll - it's pretty hard to mess this roll up. It's even pretty decent from grocery stores. Yet again, no fresh. Not only was the crawfish not fresh tasting, but the avocado inside was bad. Crab Rangoons - this is really all we could eat. I never really like them, but my boyfriend does. Came here for the first time to meet with my best friend whom i hadnt seen in about five years. We decided to meet at 1:30 for a late lunch. When i got there there was plenty of parking and you could choose from any number of tables to a select number of booths. I chose to sit in a booth close to the door seeing as i was waiting for my friend to arrive. When she got there she told me about their lunch specials and how it usually works. We decided on the all you can eat lunch for $14.99. My friend and i love sushi very much. Personally, it is my favorite food. I was very happy with my choices of miso soup to start and a chicken tempura roll and a rock'n roll for my meal. She had a lsu roll and a snow crab naruto. We had enough to be able to share since they come in plates of 5-8. All of the rolls were delicious. Not one was spicy. The lsu roll, however, was the only roll that was a warm one out of the ones we ordered. We enjoyed each roll very much. The while menu looked delicious and i would have loved to have tried every roll. If you love sushi and just hanging out this is a place to go and enjoy. read more

Please don't come here. Both service and food were absolutely awful. The sushi was not fresh at all, and the ice cream tasted like cardboard. The ice cream was definitely freezer burn. Sushi had no flavor, and all of the tempura dishes tasted like old oil. The waiter literally yanked paper from my boyfriend's hand, and my party and I literally looked at each other in shock. I'm very disappointed because Nagoya looks very nice, but the food isn't very good at all. We paid about $80.00 for terrible food. I highly suggest going to other sushi places in Baton Rouge. read more

This has been a go to place for us for a few years now. They've recently come under new ownership and I am NOT impressed. They have seriously slashed their All You Can Eat menu to the point where coming here instead of Sushi Masa would be stupid. Then, tonight we are told that the 20% off hibachi Check In deal here on Yelp is from the previous owners and they will not honor it any longer. The food was good tonight because as always, our chef Rudy did a fantastic job..but the service seems to have gone downhill since the new owners took over as well. I'm sure we will be back but I am not a happy camper tonight. read more

The service kind of creeped me out at first. A lot of waiters just standing around and staring at me. However, the service quickly gained speed when the chef came to prepare our meal. The culinary humor, along with excellent food provides a fun atmosphere for all ages. I will definitely consider this place a second time. read more

Three strikes. Strike one: eel roll fell apart and the eel was terribly skinned. Strike two: overcooked and bitter miso soup. Strike three: Bad miso soup AGAIN and missing components in my meal (such as rice at the side of my beef teriyaki entree). Our party was seated for sushi due to a "long" wait for hibachi, however there was a hibachi table half full. The sushi we ordered did not taste fresh. Our table got our sushi well in advanced before another person got his cooked entre. The facility was large with around 4 large hibachi tables and decent decor. The hibachi chefs seemed very entertaining. There is also a large bar area for those sitting at the sushi bar. Our waitress wasn't very good and only checked on us once. The pricing was decent, not cheap but not overpriced either. I wouldn't recommend this place or return for sushi but would possibly return to try the hibachi if I were in the area again. read more

I'm being a little generous with 3 stars. The waitress we got it was only her third day...but the speed of food coming out of the kitchen was ridiculously slow. We were the only people in the place and yet it took a long time for our food to come out. We all decided on the all you can eat dinner, which is definitely worth the $25 per person. But our waitress was extremely forgetful and we constantly were having to remind her of food we had ordered. In the end, good food for the price...wait staff could use some training on common sense and paying attention. Hint to the wait staff: if someone orders ice cream, bring them a spoon for the ice cream. read more

We attended Nagoya this evening. My mom and I go there on occasion and everything is great. But this time was different. My mom got her usual Hibachi dish but this time with shrimp. A few bites in she ran to the bathroom and threw up. She told me she felt pins and needles in her stomach like you get with food poisoning. I told someone about it and told them we refuse to pay for her meal. One lady was really rude and said that we had to pay. She even said that no one has complained about their food before. I replied back with "we are complaining." She just brushed us off like dust on her shoulder. She might have even overcharged us. Our bill usually is $35 and tonight she charged us $41. We got our usual amount of food too. I gave her a tip of a big fat 0 and wrote on the receipt horrible service. We are never attending Nagoya again. We didn't even get an apology. read more
