I stopped in for lunch and got the chicken teriyaki bento box. Everything tasted good but I think the chicken could have been a bit more seasoned. The staff/hostess was super friendly and clear. I sat inside, but there are only three tables. It's definitely more of a to-go spot. One piece of chicken I had was a weird texture and I did have to discard it. The service was pleasant and quick. The ambiance is more for take out to me. This is not a side of town that I frequent much. Inside was small with no diners. Hibachi was delicious, even found a sushi I liked. The staff is very friendly. It's on my weekly rotation now!

The food is very Good, it is always hot, and it's ready in a good time frame. The only issue with me Is when I have a "special request" either over the phone or in person, they never seem to meet my requests. Also, every time you add any request that's more $$. A quaint little sushi spot in Coursey and Sherwood area. I was craving sushi and my favorite spot is apparently closed fro Tuesday lunch. I've heard great things about Tokyo Grill and decided to stop in. We were quickly greeted and told to sit where we wanted to. A server came by and got our drink orders. It too me a while to order, because I am one of these people that don't like raw sushi, but love a good cooked sushi! I will say it was good. This is in what this old person calls the Chinatown area of Baton Rouge where there are several Asian restaurants---and this one has been open for perhaps a year and I have been there 3-4 /times. Serves sushi, and other Japanese type pseudo fast food offerings----however each time, the food has tasted fresh and flavorful---the sushi is a little cheaper than other sushi places however what you get is a little smaller---still decent portions for individual diners. I have sample/order various appetizers and rice dishes and like the sushi, they are pleasing to the palate, which I assume is why Japanese food is attractive. Pros: Hot food always comes PIPING hot and the give good portions. The hot food tastes great and is pretty awesome. Cons: Raw sushi is warm and doesn't taste fresh. I'd stay away from the raw sushi for now I'm not sure if it's because the power went out due to Ida but it didn't look like they had much means to keep things cold. This is good considering that take-out seems to be the majority of their business (at least the night we visited.) They also do table service, so we sat and had some sushi rolls and gyoza. We liked everything we tried (especially the roll featuring kiwi on top: yum), and the prices seemed cheaper than most places. The person waiting on us was friendly, attentive, and never overbearing. We ordered the New Orleans Roll, Red Dragon Roll, the sushi and sashimi combo, the shrimp udon, and the seaweed salad. The portions were very generous for the price. The sushi rolls were very savory and flavorful. The sashimi was very fresh as well. We sat down to eat, but there was a lot of people coming to pick up for take out too. Really great value- always get quality and consistent takeout food from here for a very reasonable price! My husband loves the chicken katsu bento box with steamed rice and I always get the maki sushi roll with spicy salmon roll and a rotating second roll of salmon katsu, yellowtail scallion, or fresh salmon. They also get this rating for their covid precautions!! They have built a stall and window so it is the safest possible pick up experience- you don't even really go inside. I am really impressed. Fantastic food in a very small space. We had steamed dumplings and hibachi. Everything was perfect, and big portions. We paid about half what we would normally pay somewhere else. Keep in mind that the hibachi is prepared in the kitchen instead of at the table, and there is no alcohol available. read more

Where do I even begin... my boyfriend and I have been going to this place since they first open! The owner of the place is very sweet and always treat us well. Kind of sad that this place is in a rough neighborhood so a lot of people are missing out. It's definitely on the cheaper side but it's very good for being so cheap. Our favorite "basic" roll is the Salmon Katsu. And our favorite major roll is the Dynamite roll. If you are not the sushi type person, their fried rice is also very yummy for being so cheap!
