Leaving 1 star because I'm absolutely furious and hurt, been a loyal customer to Nick for over a year and been sending all my clients and customers to him. After the COVID I made sure that my sister and I were on his list when he starts working again, our text messages to him were non stop for 3 months. Finally he gave us an appointment for a Friday. Friday comes and he CANCELED on us last minute!!!! Reason being he doesn't have anywhere to work out of, we offered him our shop and he refused, because supposedly he needs super huge space to work out of, We gave him a lot of options and he said when he finds a spot we would be the first on his list. LIED !!!!! Checked his Instagram and turns out he is working, asked him if we can come in and he said he's not taking clients at this time, LOL ... he's taking in whoever he likes, or has certain amount of followers on Instagram, I don't even know what the reason is. It's sad that after all the support, and referrals and TIPS he lies, he didn't even refuse service he just straight out lied lol, but it's ok because after every full set I would have to remove my nails for another full set because he clearly can't do a good fill job, and had to cut off the full set job a few times because one was going left and the other right lol had to throw that in so people know !!!!!!!! Some girl tagged him on Instagram that she called and he took her on the spot didn't even need an appoint, lol she has 30k followers on Instagram hahahahahahah Refusing or lying to your regular long time loyal customers that paid you good money and often just to take in a few clients with a few thousand followers on Instagram is not gonna make you Chaun Legend JUST SAYING!!!!!! read more

Should of seen this coming but I don't check yelp often enough, let me spill my tea Nick is a great nail tech to try out but not someone you should be completely loyal too. The beginning was amazing we did beautiful sets and each time, never rushed his work, it's a minimum 2 hours with him for a full set. I would find myself sitting for almost 3 sometimes but I didn't mind, I got time Paid in full and left a fat tip in cash. Was a hand model for a good 10-15 minutes after each appointment always posting his work to my social media accounts. Tried my best to be comfortable because the language barriers are a thing but I really don't think he listens when people are talking to him? Selective hearing too? He likes specific type of clients. Only long nails One of my former coworkers goes to him now This is a business and I was money in his pocket at the end of the day. It just unfortunate that only ALMOST a year of being a client to him he has me walking away from him like this and I couldn't tell you why exactly. He told me and I quote him "so sorry can you try another place do for you" I got a fill on Friday with two nail fixes, Nick always knows what happens to my nails I have his number, after I got my fill FRIDAY it broke FRIDAY NIGHT. I stay having to get nail fixes with him, texted Nick right away and he called right after and told me He'd let me know when he could fix it cause he was busy.......... I'll attach the screenshots so y'all can get the vibe I had to call him SATURDAY cause I wasn't getting a response but he was posting on his social media account. Cool. This man told me he couldn't fix my ONE NAIL cause he hurt his hand, he was going to go to the DR and let me know, if that's the case. I really really hope his hand gets better and he continues doing amazing work! I'll find another nail tech but I had to keep this review real because my relationship with Nick was real and I considered him a friend and again it's unfortunate. But now here's SUNDAY night still broke and homeboy still hasn't said anything else to me lol I can just laugh now Because when it's all said and done. He lost a loyal client and I get to put money in someone else's pocket BUT hopefully this new nail tech I found on Instagram don't leave your girl hanging like this clown did. Nick... left me completely speechless! Not only is he extremely sweet & welcoming but his amazing talent in his craft is out of this world. I've been with the same nail tech since I was 16 & she moved away so I was on the search for my new tech and I found him! My mother and I went together for a nail date & she was in awe! Right when we came in he had a big smile and gave us waters. He offered candy and just I thought it was so incredibly welcoming; his customer service was amazing. He's seriously a people person, easy to talk to & has such an adorable personality. His application, shaping, and designing is absolutely beautiful. PLEASE DO NOT go to this crazy man. He is actually psychotic. I paid $105 for a set on my birthday, couple days later 1 broke so I text him and asked if I could come in so he calls me and literally starts SCREAMING at the top of his lungs on the phone telling me he's busy and wont take me as a client anymore and by the looks of these reviews I'm not the only one hes done this to....I've been to him at least 10 times paying over $100 each time and it seemed like he got more rude each time I went?? How does that work?? Also I've noticed a lot of people complaining about broken nails...it's true. Don't know if it's his acrylic application since he's only been doing nails for 2 years (he said) but I'm very gentle and every single time they would break. I'm pissed! I left without saying a word because my attitude can be terrible and his children were there. Nick was so rude at the end of my appointment because he said I got my nails too short and told me next time go somewhere else. Mind you he was hella rough, my nails are thick, and bubbles in my polish. He's in Arcadia in a very nice location but will be the death of his own business because he's RUDE! I held my composure but even with him telling me to go somewhere else next time I'd never go back to him or recommend him to anyone else. Went to nick for the first time a couple weeks ago for my birthday set. A week later, both of my thumb nails completely popped off. Next day, 2 nails are splitting high up. He is not in sherman oaks but in arcadia on santa anita ave by the restaurant natural selection. I asked him a few days ago if I can come in for a fill as I start a new job monday and have to tone the design down for work plus all these nails are popping off and cracking. Scheduled me for 6:15 the next day. I drove over and got there early so I waited in my car for like an hour. Went inside he is like hi how can I help you. I said Hi im the 6:15 remember? Its like he forgot. He proceeds to ask me what I want after we already discussed it. He then asks me where do you live and tells me he is tired and he cant do my nails. I said why didnt you send me a message and say that before I drove over here and waited over an hour. Checked his ig and he was doing nails all day up until it was time for me. So I blocked him. Yeah, he thinks he is Chaun Legend and he is most def not that. Also, everybody cannot wear Cardi B style nails.... people have professions and different taste. Well where should I start? 1st of all he does do good nails, but he does not like for his clients to let him know how you want your nails done, he is more concerned about the shaping, which all ladies we like the shape to be awesome. i went to him 3 wks ago for a fill and explained to him that I do not like my nails to show under the acrylics, so please drill out, because if you don't when your nail grows, it pulls away from the acrylic nails and it could cause them to lift and come off, which is a big problem for me. I called him and he got mad, because i wanted to get in earlier due to this, instead of him drilling my nails off, he put acrylic powder on them, again he did what he wanted to do. So when i spoke to him he got pissed and hung-up on me which was rude and disrespectful. If you can't allow your customers to express what they want done and you are getting paid for it then go back home. he is very cocky and think his stuff don't stink, well unfortunately you are not the only good nail tech in Cali. Don't need to be treated rudely and disrespected for a very expensive service I am paying for. Personally I am giving Nick 4 stars bc he was professional and very invested in his work, however is experience is limited. I called in advance to see if he would be able to produce my desired look which he assured me would be possible. There may have been a misunderstanding as once I arrived he explained to me that he only does very long nails. Despite this, we attempted to compromise length for design. The nails were slightly thicker than I would like and longer than I requested. If I spend $90 on nails I prefer them to be to my liking. Nick is very much an artist and can create a beautiful design, unfortunately not at my preferred length. If you like long nails he is definitely the one to see! read more

I got one set by this guy and had to get them removed by someone else ASAP after. His work looked nothing like his IG photos. The acrylics were super thick and he never painted the sides of the nails. I kept asking him if he would be painting them and he would say yes but he never did. He had his wife on FaceTime the entire time (talk about awkward) and barely spoke to me. He is not nearly successful enough to have this kind of ego. read more

Horrible service got my nails done last weekend and this past week I've had two break and my friends as well, I've messaged him to fix and he says he's in pain understandable but he didn't have to block me so I could no longer contact him! If I could give him zero stars for how unprofessional he is I would. I tried to book an appointment with him and he told me he was busy but could see me on a Thursday at 6pm, so I made my deposit to reserve that appointment. When Thursday came, I texted him just to make sure before I left I wasn't wasting my time because I use public transportation so traveling from the Hollywood to the Valley takes a while. He responded by calling me letting me know he went overtime with some other customer and was so busy he forgot. We rescheduled for another day and through text he gave me price points for each service. I told him I wanted a regular full set ($40). So appointment day comes and once I get there he's not very friendly and barely greeted me. He also seemed to not be fully set up which took him about half an hour. He does my nails with super thick acrylic which at first I assumed him shaving it down would make it thinner. It didn't, which is fine if you're into that but aside from that I asked him if he could paint my nails fully because the sides were undone and he said I'm gonna shave it down so don't worry about it. He puts my nails under a heater which I assumed was drying my nails and after he was done said okay so this was a $40 set and on top of that I didn't gel so that's an extra $20. This really got me because we had already agreed prior I'd be getting a regular full set. I never asked for gel nails so for him to put it on without even notifying me was ridiculous. I let it go and thought okay he already put it on, fine, I'll send him $60 because the service is already done. I left and took a good look at my nails and realized they still weren't done at the sides. Why did I accept him being a douche like that to me, I'm paying for this, they should be done how I want them to be done! I go back, he's gone. I call him to at least see if there's a time I can go back for them to be fixed and he starts yelling at me over the phone saying that I didn't say anything to him and asking "What do you want me to do now?!!" At the end he told me he's never doing my nails again. I was shocked. How do you...a grown man, think it's okay to yell at a woman like that? Let alone a customer who you already inconvenienced because you forgot about your appointment?? It's embarrassing but tears started running down my face because I'm a student who also has been working full time and I just wanted to put self care into my schedule somewhere and I get treated like this. It was a disappointing to say the least. Please don't waste your time with this guy or at least don't decide not to support someone like this, there are plenty of good nail techs in LA. The ones of Instagram aren't always the best even if they have a ton of followers, which I guess...is my lesson from this. read more
