They told me they did the service I wanted and mail designs. They did not know how to do a very simple design. The French tip was thick and uneven and one hand was different than the other. I came & said I needed a fresh set 6 days ago & he suggested I just do a fill (knowing I only do clear polish) I'm back for compensation because I couldn't go into the new year like this-- without a simple apology for a bad job due to one of her employees the manager just explainied that I need to pay the difference of fill & full, which I don't mind ..I just want proper service the first time. I stopped in here today, for a color change. I got a pedicure this morning, from the place I have gone for years, same person every two weeks... and I just didnt like what she did on my toes today. This place was very friendly, clean, and took care of my polish change... and I got to sit and relax in the spa chair. Some places wont do that just for a color change, so it was nice. I needed a new place to get my eyebrows done and chose one not too far from where I live. The inside looks just fine, so I wasn't sure what the negative reviews were about. There is a sign in the waxing room that tells you how to care for your face after the work is done, which I've never seen anywhere else! I have been a customer here for a few years now, and have typically thought it was a fair Price for the service provided. Today when I was in, I was told after my dipped manicure/pedicure that six months ago when I paid $150 for my mani/pedi and my friends manicure that I was undercharged by $20. Really??!! I paid what you told me I owed. additionally it was six months ago...the manager shied away from the conversation and told me that my nail lady would take care of it. I was on my lunch and only had 1 hour, they said to come in and when I got there I was waiting 10 minutes and I feel like my nails were rushed. I've been going for years but took a hiatus due to the pandemic and then being closed for so long so I found a different place to go to which became more convenient but I still didn't get the quality of service I did from Trisha and her husband. They're so great. They know all their regulars by name which is not a big deal but definitely impressive considering she remembered me still. This was my second time here. They are close to my house which is the only positive. They don't like it when you bring your own polish. Don't put your shoes on without their permission. The guy got mad & then they started talking in their own language saying who knows what. They also charge more if you don't use cash. They should tell you that before the service. I just stepped in this location. I've never been there before. They were manicurist we're not busy. I walked in and said I wanted a manicure. They told me to pick out a color polish. I did when I sit down the gentleman told me that it will not last even three days. The quality and cleanliness is average. For the price there are many better places out there. Customer service has gone downhill. My mother, loyal as they come, has been coming here for 18 years. She was really impressed with the former owner, Kelly, because of the great service, quality work and respect for the customer. Now that Kelly has left, Trysha runs the place with great disregard for the customer. Her attitude is really pathetic and unaccommodating. If you are five minutes late she will give you attitude or if you have to change your appt time she has no care to be accommodating. We told her we will take our business elsewhere and I am happy to give it to Nails by Holly and Allure Nails where we get great service and quality nail care. I just went in to get my nails done on my only day off from work. My mom is babysitting my daughter so this is my only time to myself. My nails look awful. The woman who helped me kept yanking my arm out of the machine that hardens gel and my nails kept hitting the side. I asked her to stop but because she didn't speak English she had no idea what I was asking. There's ripples in the nail, pieces of hair, the paint at the base is uneven. I absolutely hate how they look. I told the manager and she said I could come back and have them fixed for $20 instead of $28. The gas alone to drive here won't be worth that. I want to just take the paint of myself and take the loss. I've never been so unhappy getting my nails done. Also she didn't know how to do a soft square cut and made my nails more round. So I have to wait a few weeks before getting them redone they can grow out. I thought they would offer me a free manicure since it's their employee who did an awful job. Nope, I get to drive back and pay again if I want them fixed. I even had to ask for the discount myself, it wasn't offered up front. Oh and when I went to tip, the woman who did my nails was standing there watching me type in her tip amount. It was so awkward. Awful experience. I wouldn't have been so upset if they just refunded my money. Last time I had Anthony and he was amazing. I'm so disappointed because he did a great job and now I have to pay more to have him fix what someone else messed up. The manager who was working was very nice and helpful. I've been going to Nail Star ever since I moved to Mission Viejo, 2-1/2 years ago. I go every 2-3 weeks religiously. I am extremely picky about my nails (both hands and feet). I know most of the staff and think they are WONDERFUL! I really love the way Trysha does my Nails and Eyebrow Waxing and how Karen does my Pedicures. If there's one thing us women have learned about nail shops, it's if you don't like how someone does your nails, you simply try someone else at the shop. HELLO? Do the other reviewers not understand that? I have tried a few different people at Nail Star and am totally in love with Trysha and Karen. I've been using these two exclusively, for almost the entire time I've been going here. I don't agree with the other reviews and think the people may be too critical and/or don't know that all they have to do is say something if they don't like the job the girls did and it'll get fixed right then and there. Been in for a pedi twice (Sept 2012 and April 2013), assisted by 2 different ladies. Both times I've been please. Place is clean, staff is friendly. Never had to wait (first time went in first thing Friday morning, second time around noon on Sunday). Never hassled for add-on's like previous reviewers stated. Got my nasty toes squeaky clean after walking around the Grand Prix in flip flops. Great job removing calluses. All in all, very please and will definitely go back. I also wouldn't expect too much other than a decent pedicure and manicure (no massage, unless you want to pay extra). The ladies there were super-friendly, and I also got an eyebrow wax from Trisha, who just recently started managing the store. She was actually the one who made sure I didn't get any extra services pushed on me, so I give her alone 5 stars. The eyebrow wax was quick and very good. I've been coming here about a year now. The place is always clean and the staff is friendly. I get the deluxe pedicure if I have the time to be pampered. They always do a great job and my polish lasts really well. They also do nail art. The woman next to me got some flowers on her toes. She was so happy! I took a photo and will post it here. Always a relaxing time when I come here, I'm so happy I found them. Came again last week with my niece. She is very young so we were just going to get her a polish. They were super busy but fit us in. The staff was so gracious. They could have taken someone who was purchasing more services and making more money.
