The woman didn't ask what shape I wanted my nails just filed them and when I was inspecting them she only said "they're pretty" and didn't ask if I wanted anything fixed. I probably should have paid much more attention to the mixed reviews prior to my visit, but there are two really good excuses I can provide. #1. I needed to grab some items for dinner. Check! My favorite Publix is next door, so no extra stop on the way home. #2. It was not crowded. Yay! But, questionable on an after work Friday evening. I should have used that as a bad omen. I needed to soak off my SNS and get a pedicure and regular manicure. I was immediately put off when I was given the restaurant styled menu to flip through in order to decide what type of service o wanted. I got the basic pedicure, but when I was asked if I wanted the cheese grater for the rough skin on the back of my heels, I was told it would be an extra $5. Now, I may be wrong, but I thought when you get a pedicure scrapping away rough skin was kinda the point of getting a pedicure. That nickel and dime thing rubs me the wrong way all of the time. After my SNS treated nails were back to their normal state the nails felt frail and very thin. I was worried that they would break. Well, the worry is over because by the time I left Publix less than an hour after leaving this place EVERY nail had broken. I am rocking chipped polished as I type this review. I am not impressed with this place. I doubt I ever return because I can clearly do what they offered me at home, myself. read more

A little late on reviews here, We all have one of those days when spontaneously we need to pamper ourselves, I was out grocery shopping at publix and found myself wanting to just get pampered by someone else. Was one of those days where the smallest and most simplest thing could've made my day so much better. Ambiance- Very clean, but the chairs and such were a bit worn out Customer Service- The older lady's there are incredibly sweet but its the younger one (didn't even bother to remember her name). Bedside manner could be better. As I was getting my foot scrubbed and nails painted, I noticed other customers coming in and literally this young girl just was to the point and said to go pick out what she wants but the thing is she never got to her, so she ended up leaving. Another one comes in and she just sits there waiting and waiting. The younger gal didn't even bother and another one walks out. I look around and wonder...why couldn't she have gone to her? I mean, yeah I know she was going my nails..but a simple acknowledgement would've helped a business flourish. Product: The foot scrubbing was mediocre, I could've done it myself and got smoother results. The simple one color mani again was something that I could've done myself. spent with tip $50ish. First impressions aren't always lasting, but in this case it is. Been to many great nail salons in my lifetime, and this one I will stay away. I have been coming here for 5 years and today I had the worse experience with my pedicure. I get the same thing every time but today was a problem. The lady that did my pedicure was rough and caused pain. She also tried to charge me more for the same service I get every month. The owner/manager was rude and raised her voice at me. My past experience was pretty good. The lady who did my pedicure did a great job as did the woman who did my full set. Prices are more expensive but I didnt care because the service is good. What happened this time around you may ask? Same good service. The guy was very attentive and did a great job (way more thorough than the last lady here). I came for a fill in which is apparently done differently in GA than where I am from. In NC I would get fill in's and they looked like a new set and it was just a fill in. Standard fill price. Here? Every salon I have been too make it look awful where you can clearly tell where the acrylic was trimmed and filled (super ugly.) I saw this as he was putting on the acrylic so I asked up front so he didnt do all the work and could have did something different earlier on. He said no, this is a fill this is how it looks polish will cover. Ok, but I keep French tips. He said ok we will paint the nail a nude color but "itll cost." Oh of course it will. He said next time go for the pink acryllic it lasts longer and you wont see when its filled. Ok so why exactly was I not told this last time when I asked for French? To top it off I knew she missed someTHINGS last time..like trimming cuticles, putting the tincture you must wash off, etc. I dont mind paying a higher price for good service but dont do shotty work to upsell someone. Funny that it was "thats how a fill in is" until I pointed out that my whole life in NC getting the same and they always looked new. Then it was "oh it depends on the person doing." Ahhh ok. Got it. Went in for an acrylic fill with gel polish. One nail was completely broken off and several others (three) needed repair (to be removed and new tips applied). Instead of adding new tips (because this shop will cut corners at all costs), the technician filed off the old acrylic with a nail drill and proceeded to add new acrylic onto my natural nails (which were not the same length or shape. After she completed the first nail, I told her the acrylic was uneven and she needed to remove all acrylic and add new tips to all my nails (a full set) for a more uniform look. The technician (Hannah) became offended and started to speak to a coworker in another language. She then proceeded to remove my acrylic nails with a nail tip. I informed her that the process hurt and was very damaging to my natural nails. She then proceeded to tell me that she could soak off the rest of my acrylic nails (4 left) but it would take 20-25 minutes, if not longer (which I knew was not true because she has filed most of it off with the nail drill). I informed her that she could continue but please be careful removing the acrylic because the technique was painful. After she removed all of the acrylics, she told me I was done and that it would be ten dollars, and began walking to the front of the shop. I was extremely confused because I came in for a fill-in with gel polish, which later changed to a new full set. Instead, I was left with nails that were completely damaged, uneven, and incomplete service. When I reminded her what I came in for, she told me that she could give me a full set if I wanted but would have to wait. That's when I immediately decided to take my business elsewhere. I had frequented the shop several times before and the service was never top tier but today was completely unacceptable. Obviously, the technician was upset because I demanded quality service and not the mediocre service she was used to providing. I often ignored the fact that the shop was not the cleanest, stations are not properly cleaned between clients, drill bits are kept in old Altoid containers, proper sanitation protocols are not followed, and Hannah's attitude is almost always disgusting, but today was the last straw. You do not get to demand quality payment (and tip) for mediocre service!!!! I immediately left and went to Aqua nails who informed me that after all that, I STILL had acrylic left on my nails. They removed the remaining acrylic (the correct way) and hydrated my natural nails which were extremely damaged. They also proceeded to give me a gel manicure in record time! Please do yourself a favor and do not patronize Sunny Nails in Marietta, GA. The service is terrible and you deserve to spend your money at a place that appreciates your business. The manager is rude and I am sure I am not the first person who has stated that her customer service is terrible and she does not know how to properly communicate with her customers. 1/10 - Would NOT recommend! read more

Giving 2 stars because my first experience was a good experience but my this time, my 2nd time around was not. I came in to get my SNS off and the guy seems in a huge rush. He accidentally ripped part of my real nail so I started to bleed and I gasped in pain and he didn't even say sorry. Then he pulled out the nail grinder and he didn't test it out before putting it on my nail (it was on the highest speed) and it made a horrific sound. He did apologize for this and turned it down. Then he proceeded to tell me he hates taking off SNS because it takes forever. I was there not even 10 minutes and I'm the customer. Sunny Nails is my go to nail salon nearest to my house. I am usually not a loyalist, so I don't go to the same one time and time again- but, this is my go to nail salon as I've tried other another nail salon near to Sunny's that had 4 stars(Love Nails) but it was literally ThE WORST (I got a regular polish mani and it looked like crap- hard to screw up that one). Decor & Cleanliness - Sunny nails doesn't have the nicest decor on first impression, but it is actually nice. I wish they painted the walls a different color, and this place would look more luxe. I don't know why another reviewer said the furniture looked worn out - They are not! Sure, it looks worn but it doesn't have holes or anything in it. In fact, I think that this is the first nail salon that has remote controls for each chair and in working order. Also, cleanliness is huge for me and how do I tell if this place passes? Their chandelier is clean and not dusty and the bulbs are all lit (broken bulbs are my biggest pet peeve). I pay close attention to details. Service & Ambiance - I normally just get my regular mani pedi here. If I wanted crazy designs or anything, I'll go to a place that specializes in that. However, I think they do shapes and all that coz a lady I front of me is a regular and she is getting coffin nails. I really like May.. she's very thorough and even the massage in the end is good and not lackluster. Ambiance is super calming.. always classical music which I love. I am giving them 4 stars because I wish they had Essie colors but they do have a lot of choices and literally a full wall of gel too. Also, if they didn't have the green walls.. I just got a pedicure at an overpriced nail place in East Cobb near Red Sky Tapas and it was terrible. Overpriced, incomplete (I'm sorry, but a pedicure includes actually cleaning out a bit), the water NEVER warmed up, and the complacent manager explained later that their water heater was overtaxed. REALLY?! Can you imagine having a pedicure with tepid to coolish water? And this is where I mentally started kicking myself for not going to my regular spot, Sunny Nails. Let me list some finer attributes: 1. A manager (I think his name is Kim) who bends over backwards to make every customer happy. No, I'm not kidding. I think if I said my visit would be perfect if he performed a back bend he'd probably give it a go. 2. Truly a sunny atmosphere. The nail specialists (Did you catch that? They deserve a decent title.) can't all speak English but many try, and I don't think I ever had one help me who wasn't friendly. 3. Happy with every pedi I've ever had there. 4. I have been to a few nail places in the area, and this one is my fave so far. The owner owns two other locations, Ruby nails down the street on Delk, and Princess nails on powers ferry and Terrell mill. I'm glad they opened two others ones, so this one is no long crowded or have a long wait :) people are so nice working there, and they now have time to do a even better job. I always get the regular Pedi, and Gel nails, and this time I noticed they have just gotten A LOT MORE color selections for their Gel. Even the mixed, patterned, and dotted ones!!!! The place is always so clean and organized, and people take care time to take care of you. I also like the fact that they even clean their UV machines, not every place does that, and when they are not cleaned, it could look and feel very nasty at times. Enjoy!!! read more

I don't do a lot of work with my hands and didn't come in contact with any chemicals. Don't go to this location, if your in the area just go to their sister shop. My full set looks like an amateur was practicing on my fingers but my pedicure was nice. My nails are uneven and bumpy, the man that did them was also rushing and balancing working on 3 clients including myself. I was not impressed, he was very rough and rubbed my cuticles almost raw. I'd recommend getting a pedicure here but nothing else. Also, I saw another review that said something about a sign stating they would not speak their language and giggle in front on customers...that couldn't be further from the truth.
