    Crappy nails
    Alexandra F.

I usually frequent this business because it's convenient, but I will stop after this visit. Very sloppy , uneven work (especially the pinky and middle finger) and this nail shape is literally insane. I asked for square shape and this was the result. Mani/ pedi came out to $107 . My jaw almost dropped to the floor. I know that pink and white is supposed to be more pricey, but when it looks like crap? Yeah no. Now I have to spend more money to take this set off and replace it.

Update to the Update :) Since last summer Quyen has been my nail tech. Love her! Make an appointment. UPDATE: Ti is no longer at Nail Trix. I used Mandy on my last visit and was pleased. She was attentive and did a good job. I like staying local so I think this will work for me. An appointment is still recommended for Mandy's services as she is popular too. Make an appointment with Ti. After I discovered her several years ago I don't use anyone else unless she's away. And even then she recommends who I should use in her absence. I really appreciate her looking out for her customers if she's going to be gone for an extended period. I am a regular for a pedi and eyebrow wax and she takes her time and makes sure to get it right. She has many customers so it's best to make an appointment. 4 stars because I do agree with others on limited color options.

    Two cracked nails.

I back to the salon to one nail repaired after only have my nails done 1 week!! J was informed that the lady who serviced me was off today, they were busy, and to come back another time. I very nicely asked the lady is there was anyway someone could fix my one nail (as I had a very important event to attend that night) and she was unapologetic and not accommodating. Her response to me was that they were busy and I could not be serviced. I will never give this establishment my $$ again! They are so accommodating when it's convenient for them but they do not respect and accommodate there customers! The salon is outdated and need to be renovated anyway. THIS SALON IS ALSO THE SISTER SALON TO NAIL TRIX IN TOWSON. A NAIL TECH THERE ASSAULTED A BLACK CUSTOMER WITH A STAPLER AFTER SHE REFUSED TO PAY FOR A MESSED UP EYEBROW SERVICE!! Please do not patronize this establishment! Go somewhere your $$ is valued and respected

My second time here and Quyen treated me like a queen with 5 star service with my gel set! She is also a perfectionist and wants to make sure you love your nails! I never get my eyebrows done and she convinced me to do it and they look fantastic. I had Andy for my pedicure service and he is awesome as well! I will be back.

    Bad filling, bad rushed job

Very bad nails and very expensive. For refill she charge me $47 and which I know should be more than $25 regular & $35 for gel. Please don't go here. They speak English but they will be speaking in their language and that's very rude and disrespectful. When your guts is telling you something please listen to it. My appointment was with Lucy but when I got there I was told it's with Mimi. I wanted to do designs she told its $20 for designs and where I did my nails for the first time everything was $50 with my designs. I told her that's when I should have got up and leave. My nails was not properly done and she was in a hurry. she just wanted me to go and pay. I spoke to the receptionist that my nails were not done properly she looked at it told me that I have to and come back for her to fix the mess. At that point i was done and I know what to do. Please don't spend your hard earned money here where the service is bad. My experience at Nails Trix and Spa in Fairwood (Bowie) the 2nd time around is bad. Look at all the bad review. If I had seen this review probably I would not have come here the first or the 2nd time. They need to do better.

I hate to write this review because this shop has some of the best nail techs, but I have to warn others. On Saturday I went in for a SNS manicure, pedi and eyebrow waxing. All services I have received at the shop before. I didn't have a long wait and was even able to get my favorite nail tech. Manicure went AMAZING. When she took me to the waxing room, she helped me get up on the table so I would not mess up my nails. She immediately started dipping the stick in wax (I cannot swear you whether or not it was a new stick or wax and I must be more careful). I'm used to getting my eyebrows waxed so I'm used to the heat but this wax was EXTREMELY hot and I had a feeling this was not going to be good. Upon completion I could feel my skin still burning but I thought that maybe my skin was sensitive because it has been a while. I saw myself in the mirror and my skin was a little red. I received my pedicure, paid and left. Well hours later the skin around my brows was sensitive and felt like it was burning. The first set of pictures are from later that night, the second is from today. My scars are horrible, they hurts and I have major events this weekend. Like I said, my nails turned out awesome and even the shape of my brows is nice. I just could have done without the burns.

How much is an sns manicure? And how to remove an sns manicure?

$45 and removal is similar to gel removal. Buff off top layer and soak in acetone until the powder flakes off.

I had such a great experience here! My nail technician (I think her name was Cathy or Katy--I'm so…read moresorry if I'm getting that wrong!) was incredibly thorough, gentle, and paid so much attention to detail. We actually went over closing time, but I never felt rushed, and neither did she. She really took her time to make sure everything was perfect, and I appreciated how clean and sanitary everything was throughout the appointment. The salon itself has such a peaceful, serene atmosphere, which made the whole experience even more relaxing. They also offer complimentary snacks and beverages, which was a really nice touch. The only downside is that it's a little on the pricey side, but for the level of care, cleanliness, and overall experience, I think it's worth it. I'll definitely be coming back!

I was a customer for about 5 months. No problem with dip powder until I decided to try the gel set…read morecalled "Tiana Collection" As Ken started the set, I noticed a burning sensation after the 2nd nail was done. I let him know it was burning and suggested he lower the UV light that he used to set the gel. He mentioned that the light only had 1 setting and that he couldn't change it. As he continued, I suggested to move the heated UV lamp further away from my nail bed as the temperature and position he had it in was burning my nail bed. I mentioned this as a reminder several times. When I got home that evening, I had to take Tylenol and add ice to my nails to sooth the burning sensation. At this point, I was concerned because the burning radiated from my fingers up my arms. Went the at shop opened, I contacted Ken to let him know what happened. He had me come in to remove the gel. I also asked for compensation, at least a percentage of my money back or have him do dip set later. Jennifer told me they took the gel set off, and took time doing my nails, so there was no compensation or refund of any kind. I suggested to file an insurance claim as this was an injury due to a product they provided. She told me insurance will not pay for it and she didn't see whether I deserved a refund. I have never experienced this sort of hospitality or service at any nail salon. I came here as a referral from a coworker. While still getting familiar with this area, I thought this place would offer great service. If you are thinking of getting nails done at here, be aware because it's not about customer service it's more about money for them. I always wondered why fee for services changed often when I got the same thing each time. Hidden fees no consideration for how they treat their customers. Deluxe pedi and gel with 2 horrible nail designs totaled - $145 and still burning from lamp. Go someplace else. UPDATE: Several hours later, Jennifer, the owner, left me a voicemail asking me to call her back. I returned the call believing she might offer an apology, discount, or some form of resolution. Instead, the conversation focused on my review and why I had posted it. She reiterated that because I chose the service, I was not entitled to any compensation. When I suggested continuing the discussion after she finished with her customer, she declined and continued explaining why she would not provide a refund, discount, or credit. This entire experience was disappointing. Mistakes and adverse reactions can happen, but what stood out to me was being told, "I'm not going to argue with you," when I was simply expressing surprise and concern about what had happened. I was not arguing at all, and the comment felt dismissive. I was left wondering whether I was being treated differently, possibly because I am an African American woman. Regardless of the reason, I did not feel heard or respected during the conversation. Reactions can happen, but how a business responds to a customer who has been injured or harmed by a service says a lot about its values. Unfortunately, I felt dismissed, blamed, and left without any Potential customers should be aware of my experience and make their own informed decision. Wow

Good pics on Yelp, poor communication and treatment/ hospitality…read more. I called to schedule an appointment to ensure they had time for me and they answered yes. I walked in, was rushed to pick a color instead of greeted. Said I could grab some water, which was nice. The mumbling in Viet started as soon as I sat down, could really make you feel out of place. (Just because someone doesn't know the language doesn't mean they don't hear the tone and can pick up on context.) Cut me twice, apologized, and a couple other hiccups that I won't bother to mention. She lightened up throughout time, but I may have to give it a second thought before going again.. I still tipped well because the actual nails came out good. (My total ~$96.00)Not to my like, as she was not easy to tell what I wanted done. Lady came in right to the end of my service with an appointment, and needed to get acetone removed from her hands that lady doing my nails had wrapped in foil and said, "excuse me- can you--" (I'm sure her hands were either hurting or were uncomfortable), and lady doing my nails interrupted her loudly in front of the whole salon, to say she's almost done with me. I felt terrible for her since she had an appointment on top of that. The fact that there's a lot of competitors for you (Nova nails) should push you to improve in timing and care with how you talk to clients and be careful about what you say you can and can not do for a service. I'm still looking for a place that is both well at communicating with clients, and has the skill set for an awesome set. Please remember to treat people kindly. How you make someone feel is really important.

It shouldn't be this hard to get, and keep my nails done…read more Most of the nail technicians in here are (artistically) talented, however it's SO HARD to make an appointment. I have shared my concerns with the owner and asked her to implement an online scheduling system. She expressed reservations due to the fact that customers may not know what they want, booking one service online and then coming in expecting another. It's a shame to have such a valuable and sought-after product, but simultaneously making it so difficult for customers to get their hands on that product. Booking an appointment has become somewhat of a guessing game. I give them a date and a time of my desired appointment. They tell me that my preferred nail tech is not available, but NEVER say UNTIL WHEN. So I throw out another date. Same thing: Not available. On and on it goes. Instead of providing me with options (namely, telling me the next available date for my preferred nail tech, or other nail techs who have availability at that same day and time), they repeat what they don't have available, or ask me to blindly pick another nail tech that I've never worked with (I don't even know their names because I've never worked with them, so how can I be expected to pick them?). So I'm expected to be both psychic and memorize the roster of the staff here... Just to get an appointment?! In order to book appointments I had to call multiple times over multiple days until someone was able to give me enough information to book an appointment, reach out to the owner on Instagram, and even drive all the way to the nail salon.... JUST TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT. I tried to make an appointment prior to the holidays before everything got booked up. Myself and another customer stood in line for at least 20 minutes in a practically empty nail salon while the owner's mother did someone's nails before she finally addressed us. Even then, she only handed us a register paper and told us to write down what services we wanted and when we wanted to come in, telling us that someone would call us to confirm (which never happened, by the way). We could have saved a lot of time if she had just asked us to do that and leave the paper on the counter while she finished her customer. After waiting 3 days, I finally called the salon and was told that they did not have my appointment request. Not surprising, given that it was scribbled on a piece of receipt paper that was given to me. Somebody probably threw away thinking that it was trash without following up. I tried to book my next two appointments to avoid this headache and was told that in order to book an appointment with my preferred nail tech, I now have to follow her on social media and DM her to try to book an appointment with her there. REALLY?! Instead of scraps of paper, or having to stalk somebody on Instagram, why not keep an old school appointment book, or even one online? It's really not that hard. These nail techs are also not great with time management. Many of my appointments have had to be rescheduled... For the middle of my work day. (Thank goodness for remote work) One of the (now former) nail techs completely forgot about my appointment and passed me off to somebody else without even acknowledging me or her oversight. Another nail tech pressured me into making an appointment earlier than I wanted, only for her to show up 45 minutes after the appointed time. No phone call, no update, no communication whatsoever. Just me sitting there wondering if this was another canceled appointment that they forgot to communicate to me. I say "another" because I had an appointment with the same technician that she canceled, but the salon did not leave me a message to let me know. The only way I found out is because I wanted to add something onto my existing appointment and when I called the salon, I was told that I no longer had an appointment because that person decided not to work that day. In addition to horrendous time management and the hoops you have to jump through to get an appointment, the nail retention is also poor... And ultimately that's why I chose to get my services done elsewhere. Like I said, artistically some of these nail techs do a good job, but in terms of actual quality of work... Not so much. I tried to make it work, because finding a new nail salon can be a pain. However, I started experiencing substantial lifting of my nails after practically every appointment. At one point, I even developed nail fungus under my acrylic, which one of the nail techs ignored completely and just covered with acrylic, and another who tried to tell me "That's not nail fungus, it's bacteria". Whatever it is, it's not supposed to be under my nails... And it wouldn't be if the work was done correctly. Aesthetically, this is one of the nicer looking nail salons in the area, but looks are deceiving. This salon presents a lot of challenges from a booking, customer service, and quality of work perspective.

I found her demeanor to be rather impolite, and she was frequently using her phone throughout my service. Furthermore, if you are seeking a dipping powder service, I would advise requesting a different technician, as Aaliyah seemed to strongly encourage a gel builder instead. However, I maintained my preference, as I believe a service should always prioritize the client's wishes rather than the technician's convenience or potential upselling. Despite this experience, I do plan to return to the salon. I will, however, be much more discerning when selecting my nail technician next time. I observed other technicians who appeared very attentive and engaged with their clients, rather than being preoccupied with their phones. In summary, my one-star rating is specifically for Aaliyah's service. However, I would give the salon's overall ambiance, atmosphere, and the owners four stars. Four stars because I found the music selection to be somewhat inappropriate. I would suggest considering music with more family-friendly lyrics, particularly given the presence of younger patrons. Otherwise, I will be returning for the positive aspects of the salon.

Located in Capital Heights, at my first appointment, it was kind of hard to spot. Be aware of the parking, as some of the spots are assigned. Upon walking in, use the door on the right to access the nail salon. Appointments are made online, and Tenecia prefers that appointments are made at the half hour only. No problems there. Nice selection of colors to choose from, and the place is clean. I noticed that Tenecia takes the time to clean the bowl in between clients, which I totally dig. Also, she uses new new tools, like emery boards, and buffers for each person. My first appointment was a gel mani (with designs of course) and a pedi. Let me tell you, it was one of thee best pedicures that I have EVER had. She is absolutely excellent at what she does. I loved the gel manicure as well, because she actually does a manicure; you know soaks the hands, trims the cuticles, massage, and the like. She totally takes her time. My nails were shaped beautifully, and they actually grew! Woop! My only issue, is that my mani didn't last as long as I would have expected, but that could totally be me, because I'm super hard on my nails. Oh, another plus is that she totally accommodated me (in between clients) when I chipped my toe...see uber hard on my nails. No matter here though; because, my services were done well, and it is fairly priced. I will definitely be returning.

Today was my first time visiting this place. After reading the reviews, I knew I would need to…read moremake an appointment. Since slots fill up fast, I went ahead and booked for the rest of the year. I needed to find somewhere that was preferably black owned since the other place I found took entirely too long. The parking is very limited and the lot is kind of tight. There's a parking lot on the other side, so I parked there and walked the short distance over. The inside of the shop isn't very big. However, it wasn't crowded, so I think it wouldn't be a problem. Also I wasn't positive as to how to book nail designs, but Tenicia explained with no problem and now I know what to do when scheduling. Even with this, she was still able to accommodate me within my appointment time. I really appreciated that. I read a few reviews about Tenicia's attitude, but I didn't have an issue. She wasn't talkative, but I wasn't really looking for that. She came off as professional and cordial and that was perfectly acceptable in my book. I really enjoyed the service and the work was awesome. The work was fast, but high quality. After 10 long years, I think I found my spot. https://www.styleseat.com/teniciaingram?utm_campaign=email_profile_User
